I was excited when I saw Another Broken Egg Cafe while visiting North Carolina. I've always wanted to try the one back home in Florida but have yet to make it. Living up to its reputation of a great brunch spot, I left completely full and satisfied. I had the crabcakes eggs benedict and I added a side of andouille sausage. The crabcakes were full of flavor and crab! The spices of the andouille sausage paired weIl with the perfectly poached eggs and the light hollandaise sauce. My boyfriend had the cinnamon rolls french toasts which currently has him napping with a smile on his face. I am a tea lover so the box of various teas presented to me was a pleasant addition to my experience. I will definitely be visiting the Florida location near me. read more

Ordered over an hour ago. Still sitting here waiting for our food. People around us are getting their food who sat down after us. Every time we ask -- "We're a little backed up right now. It should be out any minute." When the food came out, we expressed our disappointment that and one of the servers (not the one assigned to our table to begin with) spat back at us "Well, your food's here now" and threw the plates in front of us. I like the food here. It never disappoints. The waiters and other staffs are great. The only complaint I'd have is the food comes out really slow so don't come hungry or you will become hangry. Was it worth the wait? A drizzly early spring day with dropping 50f temps and thirty minutes to closed...and they were still packed. I ended up sitting in their outdoor patio for twenty minutes sipping on some coffee (20-year fresh Minnesota transplant, so the chill didn't bother me.) I started off with one of their signature items - the blackberry grits. The only negative I can mention is that I prefer my grits a little firmer - a very minor nit. They were fantastic. Fresh berries bursting with flavor. Next came the Floridian - a cream cheese and crab omelette. They have another winner with this one. Great flavor, lumps of crab, and a gentle taste that doesn't get in the way of it. Add in a side of their breakfast chorizo. I think it could be a tad spicier, but still quite good. Of note: their coffee. I expect great coffee from a breakfast restaurant. Theirs was pretty good. Will I come back? Absolutely. They're only a few small steps away from a 5/5 for me. read more

OMG when I tell you the service is so slow! I came here with 3 other people and the restaurant isn't even full which I think was crazy because I waited for atleast an hour and a half our reservation was for 11:10 and we got our food at 12:50. It was so disappointing because in the morning you want some nice breakfast but here it was disgusting and unflavorful. Also I forgot to add there's about 10 ppl waiting on the outside and inside for pickup orders when they should've been gone by now especially since they have people waiting out in the cold. This will be my go to breakfast spot in Cary, NC now. I shared the Lobster and Brie Omelet and the Lobster Benedict and tasted the French Toast Cinnamon roll. We cleaned our plates, which is unusual, especially so early in the morning. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the grits were creamy and I crave the syrup on the French Toast. Coffee could be better and service was okay. I would definitely recommend to the breakfast lovers out there. read more

This was one of the first meals I had after moving to North Carolina. Let me start by saying that our server was so kind and welcoming, it was very appreciated even though they were pretty busy. The coffee was great, and yes I am a coffee snob. Even for my snobbish taste, I was still able to drink it black and enjoy it. I loved the shape of their mugs. One of my pet peeves are cafes that have odd proportioned mugs that are hard to hold or drink coffee out of. What is the point of having a mug that you can't comfortably drink out of? Seriously, isn't that counter-intuitive? I ordered the chicken and waffles which is basically go to. The last chicken and waffles I ate were in Seattle, right before I left, and my gosh they were terrible. I have literally never had any that bad. This was a total 180 from what I had at another broken egg. The waffle was light and fluffy, but hearty enough that I didn't just disintegrate when you put toppings on it. The chicken was tender inside and crunchy on the outside. It didn't feel super heavy which I really appreciate because I hate feeling guilty for eating something so delicious. We visit this place often but no more. We went there this afternoon for brunch and had the worst experience. We ordered food and were patiently waiting for our food for an hour and half while we saw everyone that came after us getting their food. The waiter was not attentive and we had to check with another waiter for the status of our food. She was so rude when she finally brought the food and we had to refuse the food. She didn't even bother and the manager was a young man that doesn't have any managerial exprience. No reprimand of the waiter but was apologizing that we should not have been treated that way. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our dual birthdays together today and we decided to come here over la Farm which we normally go to. We waited almost 20 minutes for our server to approach us for our order and was pretty scarce the entire time we sat and ate. If it wasn't for the hostess Anjali we would have left. Her customer service and and great personality really set the mood for us. We wish she would have been our server. If you ever go here definitely ask for her. We visited Another Broken Egg Cafe for brunch during our last visit to North Carolina. When we arrived, we were told it would be about a 15 minute wait. This wasn't an issue for us, and we were able to wait comfortably because they had a nice waiting area with ample seating. When we finally got to our table, however, it was like our waiter forgot we were there. It was pretty difficult to get his attention. I understand the brunch crowd can probably get crazy, but we seemed to wait for a while just to put in our drink orders. We finally ordered our food, and then probably waited a good 45 minutes for our food to come out. They were pretty good and friendly about customizing the order if you wanted to substitute something which is definitely a plus being a vegetarian. I ordered the Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancakes which came with eggs and I was able to substitute the meat side with potatoes. The staff did seem somewhat disorganized or distracted because when our food actually came out they had a few mishaps. They forgot my side of potatoes another with another side of potatoes for our table. In addition, someone else ordered a side of plain buttermilk pancakes and they brought her a side of the Bananas Foster pancakes instead. Additionally, they forgot to give our table syrup, and getting the waiter's attention to ask for some took FOREVER. At this point, it was already 2pm, and the restaurant had emptied out, so I don't know why it took so long to get service. I was really excited for the pancakes because they sounded delicious and unique. Also, after waiting for so long I was just starving. However, I was a little disappointed. The pancakes were extremely DENSE. There was absolutely no fluffiness to them and they just weren't that amazing. They honestly seemed like some average blueberry pancakes. I was pretty disappointed with my experience with Another Broken Egg Cafe because I've heard good things about the place. The West Raleigh/ Cary Area needs more breakfast places. Period. And I'm talking about eggs and hashbrowns and coffee for $5.99 at break-neck speed kinda places. Tuesday night, Sunday morning? And no, Denny's and Another Broken Egg Cafe ain't cuttin' it. I was excited to try Another Broken Egg. Because I am excited for breakfast. I called ahead for seating. It was a good idea, but we still waited, because they were packed to the ceiling. (Another sign there is not enough breakfast in this city) I had an avocado and bacon omelet and my date had the chorizo omelet. The food was fine. Not quite enough flavor for their Mexican themed omelets, but fresh and good. The potato hash browns were too dry. The food took a long time. The coffee didn't stay full, but they were very very busy. The hostess got into a little tif with one of the waiters, which we overheard because the place is so close together. I made an unplanned stop at Another Broken Egg and what a delightful stop it was! The cafe has a homey, country kitchen feel with a bit of rustic flair in the open and spacious dining room. As expected, chickens and eggs are a common feature on the walls and on shelves. The menu is expansive offering not only breakfast but lunch items as well. You can find low-fat and vegetarian items sprinkled in with mouthwatering decadent items. (Brie being a common ingredient... Be still my beating heart!) I tried the "Salmon Benny" with a side of hollandaise (made fresh every morning.) Two poached eggs on a layer of smoked Alaskan salmon atop a cream cheese toasted bagel generously sprinkled with capers, red onion, and seasoning. Holy. Cow. It was scrumptious. I practically inhaled it! I had a side of deliciously seasoned potatoes and they were just as tasty. I couldn't stop munching on them! The best thing is that they have a small bar and offer Bloody Marys and coffee liquor drinks. What a bonus! The staff members were friendly, accommodating, and efficient. I could catch snippets of pleasant conversation happening at other tables among the yummy sounds people were uttering in between bites. The restaurant was hopping even on a late-morning weekday, so you know this place is a winner! Overall, a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back and try more. I am continually annoyed by restaurants that do not include a small drink with a kids meal. $2.00 for a kid to get a drink is way over priced and brings their meal to around $7.00. Way to expensive for a kids meal. I get a better deal for dinner at Tribecca. I know drinks are an easy profit area for restaurants but that seems a little high. I am so torn between 3 and 4 stars. On one side, the food that I've ordered has always been good. The bacon is AWESOME. The service is usually very good (we had a male server 2 visits ago that was one of the best I've ever encountered). On the other side, this is breakfast food. Two pancakes, eggs, and bacon shouldn't cost almost $10. You should get more than 2 pieces of bacon for that price. A side pancake shouldn't cost $3.50. The diner in my hometown serves the same food and the same portions at nearly the same quality for half those prices. The wait can be ridiculous at times. The parking stinks if you don't arrive before the rush. Overall, not a bad place to eat breakfast/brunch if you arrive early and don't mind a $12 meal with a drink. But it's nothing substantially different or better than Perkins, Briggs, or IHoP. read more

Gladly walked around the plaza to conserve room for other patrons in the tiny lobby area after being told we would be paged 45 minutes later we were still waiting with the list showing 20 names being seated before us. I finally made it for brunch. You can tell it is a hot spot with a 30 minute wait. The only negative thing I can say is the host staff is probably the most disorganized mess I've ever seen. I was a front of house manager and trainer for over 10 years at a very busy restaurant. If I had left tables open for 20 minutes with that kind of wait I would have been fired. Ultimately it takes money out of the servers pockets and starts the dining experience on a sour note. With a limited waiting area, the group waiting spills into the dining area. This means the customers can see every open table. At one point I counted over 10 open. When they finally sat them, they did it all at once which impacts the kitchen. Once we did sit down everything was great! I had a lovely omelette and my friend had one of the scrambles. It definitely hit the spot. I will definitely return, but I hope they tighten up the host staff and FOH management. That would take this review to 5 stars. read more
