I've been to Another Broken Egg café a few times for brunch, and I left each time very satisfied. It does get very busy on the weekends, and I would recommend showing up 30 min. before you actually intend on eating. I would definitely recommend getting a cup of coffee. It is very good, a lot better quality than most other brunch places. We also tried the beignets since many menu items were inspired by New Orleans, and they were good, but not as authentic the ones I had in New Orleans. They're more like mini beignets pieces covered in powder sugar, and they come with a really good fruit jam dipping sauce (either apricot or peach). I would prefer them to go a little easier on the powder sugar. For my breakfast entree, I had the crab cakes egg benedict, and it was really flavorful. The crab cakes were surprisingly bigger than I expected with good junks of jumbo lump crab meat. They were great quality crab cakes, pan seared perfectly. They were served over English muffins with two perfectly poached eggs on top, all smothered in a light, yet delicious hollandaise sauce. Along with a generous amount of home fries, it was a really filling breakfast. I've also tried the popeyes scramble that came with scrambled eggs, spinach, bacon, onions, and Monterey Jack cheese. The scramble was tasty, especially with the perfectly crispy bacon and spinach really giving it most of the flavor. The Mardi Gras omelette is also really good and definitely unique with the mini crawfish and shrimp inside. The hollandaise sauce really pulls the dish together and gives it a more New Orleans taste. Overall, Another Broken Egg is a great place to get a solid breakfast/brunch. Their egg entrees are good, and they give you some very generous portions. I've been about three times and have never been disappointed. I've also tried their bananas foster at a Yelp event and it was amazing. Had a great brunch here with friends today! We went at 10:45 and had to wait 30 minutes to be sat. The hostess and front end personnel were super nice! When I went to check on the status of our table (after 35 min), they said we would be sat shortly, and we were! Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. We ordered and the food came out shortly. I ordered apply juice and the Lakeshore Scramble (with no onions). On first sight, it didn't look like a lot of food, but it I could barely finish it! The scramble was light and fluffy, and the bacon and mushrooms were folded in, with the cheese on top. The hashbrown potatoes were really good, and the English muffin was warm and fluffy! I was looking for a brunch place to bring friends from out of town and this place was perfect. We came on a weekday and there was no wait at all. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Some things that stood out were the spiked salted caramel cold brew, and city grits. They were delicious. I'm not a big fan of chicken and waffles, but tried it here and it was delicious as well. This place and service was so good, we went back during the weekend. It was very busy, however you can add your name to the waitlist online and check in when you arrived. I was a bit hesitant to try out Another Broken Egg Cafe as my boyfriend had ventured to the location in Durham and was less than impressed. But, it was Sunday morning and we were ready to eat before 9am - and Another Broken Egg Cafe came through! I ordered the Garden Omelet (while the menu cites fresh mushrooms, I had a hard time believing they were not canned): spinach and tomatoes were tasty and it was smothered with Swiss cheese (nothing unusual for breakfast places but does one really need THAT much cheese??). The omelet was fluffy and still tasty with some cheese scrapped off. The potatoes were delicious - not too salty and great crisp! My boyfriend ordered the Popeye omelet - his comment: "heavy but good". We ordered a side of the baked bacon - YUM! I actually would throw in another half star just for the bacon. While the mugs it was served in were great, the coffee was really mediocre, especially for those prices. The service was great and we enjoyed sitting at the bar. Whoever owns/manages this place needs to try harder or close their doors until they hire more people. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic and worked as hard as a person could possibly work. The cooks in the kitchen could be heard screaming at each other throughout the entire restaurant. Food took forever. No bartender was staffed. Our experience was outright poor for our friends breakfast brunch. management should do better by their staff and their customers. I don't know that we will be back to another broken egg. read more

After 30 minutes and seeing several other parties going in, we asked about the wait - at least another 20 minutes. I peeked around the corner 5 minutes after that and noticed that the restaurant was 1/3 empty by that point and there were at least four 4-tops that could have easily been pushed together for our party of 5 - in addition to 2 booths - and 3 2-tops. I will never forget how this company treated me. 2 months before a reunion of 35 women, most educators, I contacted the establishment to let them know the date and that I wanted to purchase 35 gift cards so i could place them in goodie bags as a surprise. When I arrived to purchase the gift-cards they acted as if they didn't know anything about it. I gave my credit card to pay for the gift cards and he said the card was declined. Very Good, when not busy pretty much sums it up. I went early on a Sunday Morning that was rainy, so when I got there it was pretty empty. When we went to leave, it was almost full, and more people were on the way in. I will give Another Broken Egg a lot of credit. They make everything fresh, and they like to make it themselves. I got the Cinnamon Roll to start things off, and this was not just some roll thrown in the microwave to warm it up. You could tell the frosting had just been put on it, as it was still melting when it got to the table. It was very tasty, and large enough to be shared between two people. I got the Eggs Benedict with the Crab Cakes. I have never had Eggs Benedict before, but I figured I would give them a try with the crab cake. I didn't like the eggs that much, but I am pretty sure that has more to do with the dish not the restaurant (not enough taste). The crab cake was good as were the potatoes that came with it. I put some of their Pepper Sauce on it, and wow that made the whole thing really good. I am sure I will go back, as the service and food were both good. A couple of weekends ago I had a wonderful meal here with a couple of friends. It was my husband and I's first time dining here for brunch on a Saturday morning. The wait was ridiculous but thankfully we called and put our names on the list 1 hour before arriving. We were seated outside before realized the patio didn't do a great job of keeping the sun off of us while we ate, plus the waitress outside was really catty and encouraged us to " move before I get ur drink order". Rude. Once seated inside we were welcomed by a really sweet young man with a great sense of humor. The menu was extensive with lots of sweet & savory breakfast options. Not only that, there were loads of healthy options too! It was terrific. The blueberry quinoa was tasty & the waffle like fruit bowl was light & slightly sweetened. The French toast was sinful & the coffee was good to the last drop. The grits were shared all around. The only item that wasn't enjoyed around the table was the Mediterranean potatoes. The bloody mary I got was impossibly sad, poorly made, lacking possibly any "zing" at all. I would never, in a million years order another. However, to my surprise, the biscuits and gravy were perfect. The bacon was the best I've ever had, scrambled eggs were very fluffy and the home fries were well and crispy. The loaded grits are fantastic and I am assured by my friends the omelette and pancakes do it for them too. The food is consistently decent quality. I have never eaten in, just called ahead and taken food to go. While everyone inside is very nice, they don't have a good system in place for pickup orders. Every time I have gone to pick up an order, the hostess generally flounders as she tries to recall where to go. When I get to the bar to pick up something, the bartender looks confused that I'm trying to drink at 11:30 in the morning. They'll generally need to go to the kitchen on a treasure hunt to figure out what happened to my order. The portions here are enormous. I'm not talking large bread, I mean literally 2 meals big. If you are looking at the menu and wondering how a place can charge $15 for a Reuben, that is because you are getting 2 complete sandwiches and 2 orders of hash browns. When I order from here, I'll usually split a dish with someone. My big complaint with this place is the greasiness. Based on the reviews here, I dropped by Another Broken Egg Cafe today. I had the fruit, yogurt parfait and blueberry muffin. The muffin was warm and the parfait was delicious. The fruit variety was outstanding and there was vanilla and strawberry yogurt mixed in. The granola topping was moist and fresh, although I like granola that is bone dry. The low rating is entirely due to service. It was Friday at 9am and there was a father/daughter customer who walked in with me. They were seated immediately and although I was told I would be seated 'right away', it took at least 5 minutes for anyone to come back. At this point the waiting area was full with a huge party! I was told that a party of THIRTY had made a reservation. A cafe really can't support a party of 30 nor can it support all of the other customers who are there at the same time. The party was broken in two, but I had 20 plus folks next to me and the noise level was more dinner-party level than mellow breakfast level. My meal came in a reasonable amount of time. The waiter did return and refilled my drink, but I then sat for 20+ minutes without a check. I finally went up to the register and paid. All things considered, the waiters were upbeat through all of this and seemed to handle the big tables remarkably well. Took my kids to breakfast this morning and was seating right away. Our order was taken within 10 minutes but we had to wait 25 mins for our food. When the food friendly arrived to the table my son was missing the whip cream in his pancakes and u was missing the cheese in my eggs. Plus, my kids pancakes and bacon were burnt. On top of all this I had to ask for butter twice because the first request was neglected snd no one came back to our table to ask if we needed anything which is normally just standard. Wow, I think I have found a new favorite breakfast place! I have to say that it is a bit of a hike from Clayton but, it's worth it. We stopped in Saturday morning around 9:00 and had no trouble scoring a table on their patio. Service was quick and efficient but, you could tell that some of the staff members was new. Our server was a bit "spacey" but eager and tried hard. My wife had the Floridian; a cream cheese filled omelet topped with crabmeat and finished with melted jack cheese and scallions. It was accompanied by an english muffin and deep fried breakfast potatoes. It was excellent. She only managed to work her way through half of it... I went with Lafitte's Tortilla; scrambled eggs, green chilies, chorizo and onions in a flour tortilla topped with melted cheese and salsa. Sour cream and salsa were also served on the side along with deep fired breakfast potatoes. It was excellent. The eggs were perfectly cooked and it had a great southwestern flavor. I didn't realize that this was a chain until we read the menu. They have 15-20 locations mainly in the southeast. The interior is nicely done in dark woods and has an upscale feel. Folks at one of the other tables had a couple of Bloody Mary's that looked great. One will definitely be on my list to try. You can be sure that I'll be looking for an excuse to drive to Morrisville in the morning just to stop in. read more

I stopped in here on a Sunday with my wife. I had driven past it numerous times, and always wanted to try it. Finally I drug my wife out Sunday morning to check it out. Sadly my timing was a little off, as there was a 30 minute wait. I wasn't going to let time determine my ability to try a new spot. So we waited it out. When we finally got seated, I scrolled through the menu. We decided we would split two meals, so we ordered the eggs with home fries and bacon as well as the French toast. I know what your thinking, pretty simple. However I was starving at this point. Once the good came out, my mouth had passed watering. It was time to dig in. The France toast was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of seasoning. The eggs were a little lacking flavor, but I blame that on not getting the omelet we wanted. However they were prepared perfectly and very fluffy. If I may say, try their home fries with their pepper sauce, Amazing flavor. Prance juice was a little over priced, but tasted hand squeezed. Stopped by following a medical appt. Service was fast and the staff friendly. My wife ordered the Traditional Breakfast and loved it. 2 eggs country potatoes and an english muffin. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. I won't do that again! The hollandaise sauce was so blah. No lemon or cayenne just paprika. My mistake I should have asked. Other than that the meal was great The eggs were poached to perfection. A nice touch was our server noted our potato serving was slim and brought us out two steaming bowls to replace them. The banana foster French toast is to die for! The server did forget my English muffin for my egg and chorizo but in the end I was fine as long as it was taken off the bill. I love breakfast. Sometimes it's the best thing that happens all day. I was impressed with how clean, well decorated, and spacious this cafe was, and how friendly and helpful the staff was. The menu has a large variety, which is nice, and the food was very tasty. We had the cinnamon roll french toast, beignets, coffee, scrambled eggs, and bacon (for two people). The cinnamon roll french toast was awesome, and the presentation was very well done. The eggs, bacon, potatoes, and english muffin were good, better than you'd get at most places. The problem, and it's a common one, is that the coffee is terrible. It's your typical bitter overcooked diner coffee. The same that you'll find at Brigg's or Panera, or any roadside diner across the country. If Another Broken Egg can upgrade the coffee, that would make the whole experience much better, and for me, 5 stars. read more

Dishonest management, poor incompetent service. Came in on October 19 with a group of 8. Had placed our name on the wait list ahead of time. We let the host know when we arrived. We were told it would be a few minutes as there were parties ahead of us and obviously because our party was large. All parties ahead of us were seated (no issues at all with this). Several parties behind us were also seated, despite there being two empty tables beside each other that could have easily accommodated our party the entire time. After finally speaking with the manager were we seated. Brunch was good and the service on the whole was excellent even though some orders were incorrect. However, the dishonesty of the management is appalling. Two days later I noticed that the charge to my debit card had been reversed and replaced with another charge from the restaurant for a much higher amount. I called the restaurant and was notified that they had done this on purpose, reversed the original charge and replaced it with a higher charge because the original charge had been rung up without their customary gratuity up-charge for large parties. This was never explained to our party nor was it shown on our original receipts. They did not have my permission to correct their own mistake and cost me additional money. I will be disputing the charge in whole and taking every opportunity to share my experience. This is akin to theft. read more

This place is great. It's on our regular brunch rotation. I've had most of their omelettes--my favorite is the Lobster and Brie. The beignets are also delicious. I've also had their burger and some of their salads, all great. The decor and vibe in there is top notch. It just feels warm and inviting in there. The staff is usually very friendly and they keep your coffee cup full and hot. Their healthy options are pretty good too. Fruit and yogurt, quinoa and such. You may have to wait for a table on the weekend, but it's worth it. Try the call ahead seating for a shorter wait. read more

Don't get the Lobster and Grits, it is thoroughly disappointing. The picture of nice chunks of lobster on top is completely inaccurate. There are several tiny pieces chopped up in the sauce, but that's about it. There is however lots of sausage and bacon in the dish.
