This was our first time visiting Siesta Key and we read a lot of positive reviews about this business. We decided to visit on a Sunday morning before it was too busy. We were immediately greeted warmly and welcomed. We were given a choice of inside or outside seating. We were shown to a table right away and were asked if we had been there before. Since this was our first time eating here, we were pleasantly surprised to be blessed with a complimentary order of Beignets with honey marmalade sauce. It was an excellent start to our breakfast. Coffee was a house blend and was excellent. We loved the mugs they are served in and they can be purchased. Breakfast entrees were beyond excellent. Presentation of the food was exceptional. All staff and servers were warm and friendly. We particularly enjoyed our waitress. She was very endearing and called us "babies" like we were her grandchildren. My wife and I especially liked that as we were celebrating our 40th birthdays. We HIGHLY recommend eating here during your stay. read more

We had a delicious breakfast here while on vacation in Siesta Key. The wait wasn't long - about 10-15 minutes and we sat on the outside patio which was so nice to enjoy the weather. We had the beignets as a starter and the kids enjoyed those. I ordered the lobster and Brie omelette which was delicious with big chunks on lobster. Also, the strawberry mimosa was so good and refreshing - not overly sweet but just right. My husband ordered the Hey Lucy omelette, which was excellent and had really good southwestern flavors. Delicious brunch spot for our vacation in Siesta Key. The online waitlist helped to save a lot of time. The service was a little spotty for a larger group, but I certainly understand the room for error in that scenario and feel as though they did everything they could to help keep us happy! This is a decent breakfast spot. The veggie omelette was okay, nothing to write home about, with a barely noticeable quantity of goat cheese. The beignets tasted good for what they were, but if you are looking for authentic New Orleans these aren't it. The scrambled eggs were cold and the toast was closer to bread than toast. Went here Super Bowl morning. Got there just ahead of the crowd a got seated promptly. Sat outside on the heated porch with roll down sides. Great service and great food. That being said, it was really good food - not mind blowing amazing. Everything was cooked correctly, everything tastes great, just didn't latch onto a WOW factor. We visited twice this week and had decent breakfasts. We hadn't been to Siesta in three years and we were dissapointed. 4 or 5 years ago I definitely would have given this place a 5 star rating. Now it seems more comericialand the food just isn't as good as it used to be(you can tell it's a chain restaurant now). I still love the turkey sausage links (not a fan if their homemade sausage) & you still get great service everytime. I made the mistake thinking I was going to The Broken Egg, this is not the same restaurant. I found out that The Broken Egg moved to Clark Rd. Anyway here's my review for ANOTHER broken egg. The service was friendly although he got our order wrong. The food was okay but a little pricy. It took a while to get our food and the restaurant wasn't busy. The atmosphere is very bland generic not what you would expect on Siesta Key. On a good note I was happy to see dogs are permitted on the patio. So I will go back and give them another try with my furry friend. read more

I can't believe I've never been to one of these cafes! I know I've definitely seen them outside of siesta key but I am so glad I finally made it there. We went on Sunday afternoon which was expectedly busy but were seated almost immediately outside. I don't mind the heat and I prefer sitting outside so this was nice even on a hot summer day. I've recently discovered biscuits and gravy and have become a bit of a snob about them so I ordered the broken egg cafe sandwich - or something like that (I really oughta right these reviews right after my visit). And boy, did I love that! The biscuit was delicious and tasted fresh, the gravy was full of flavor and complimented the gg perfectly. The ONLY thing I would change would be to add bacon but only because I think breakfast isn't complete without it but it really didn't need it. I can't even remember what my side was (home fries, probably) because the sandwich was just that good. Will be hunting one of these babies down in Orlando! read more
