The problem in lies in the rude manager Daneya (?)?. They close at 2:00 p.m. and I was one of the last customers to finish up their meal. She comes at 2:06 and turns the TV off as I'm watching ESPN. They took my money and I tipped to dine there but customer service is everything. I would give it five star for the quality of the food but management gets zero from me. Best breakfast in Tampa!!! This place is just all around wonderful. Awesome menu, super sweet and attentive wait staff, and cute/cozy atmosphere. Our waitress, Amanda, was super knowledgeable about the menu, happily gave us suggestions, noticed and corrected a order mistake before we could even say anything about it, and just was in general one of the nicest people I've ever come across. We even saw her go over to the hostest and quietly tell her that she was doing a great job and that her work was really appreciated. As for the food: scrumptious. We got the pancake sampler trio and chose the lemon blueberry goat cheese (decadent and delicious!), peach cobbler (super fresh peach slices!!), and the bananas foster (what!?!). Great breakfast spot! Everything we ordered was delicious! Our favorite was the shrimp and grits that my husband ordered. It was so full of flavor! We also had the biscuit beignets, lemon and goat cheese pancakes, crab cakes and fried green tomatoes, biscuits and gravy, and chocolate chip pancakes. All were great! Unfortunately, the wait time and the hosts attitudes were what really frustrated me. I put us on the wait list through the Yelp app. Initially the wait time was 30-45 mins. We definitely waited an hour and a half to be seated. I noticed that as we were waiting the hosts would tell people coming up with larger parties that it would be a 45 min wait. Everyone kept coming to check on their tables because they were waiting well over the wait time. One host in particular with extremely long blonde hair would roll her eyes and keep complaining about the customers. I don't know if she realized she was complaining in front of other customers? Not very professional at all. When it came time to call out the party names she would say the names very blandly and say "I don't understand why they would leave...". It's because you're having people wait double the time you said and you confirmed that they would receive a text when their table is ready! Not everyone is going to want to wait an hour and a half in a small waiting area. When it came time to be seated we weren't given any regular menus or a kids one for our son. Which is fine, but I felt so bad for Stacey, our waitress, who was working extra hard to do her job. She said she went to ask the hosts to bring it, but they never did. So when I asked a second time she was really frustrated with them and went and got it herself. I felt so bad for her. Looking over at the host stand I saw they were just standing around and laughing. My first Another Broken Egg experience is one I'll never forget. From the rising of the sun to the setting of the same, they were amazing and I do mean from start to finish. They asked if we were first time time guest. Shortly after our drinks the manager gave complimentary beignets, and they were delectable. Now let me tell you about the man JUSTIN, the Chef for day we went. You meet most chefs when you eat their meals. Justin made a point to introduce himself before the table was laid. He was warm personable and informational. He accompanied the awesome server, Jolie, to deliver what to expect from our items of interest. He made it out before to answer questions and introduce himself, again when the food made it out, and once more to keep the feeling warm, though the food was already so far down our bellies. Did I mention we had a very excited and expressive 2 year old and he even interacted with him to calm him down and made him laugh. I've known about Another Broken Egg from back home in Atlanta, but for this experience, I'm glad I waited to come to Tampa for my intro to this amazing chef, food, service, and the light and warm experience. The food was actually pretty good. The service was really lacking and our table was sticky and was clearly never cleaned off before we were seated. We put in our order but after 40ish minutes we did not get our food and other people who were seated after us were getting their food. We had to go up to the hostess stand to check on our food and they told us that our food was actually filled as takeout and they had to put our order in again. Their food concept is based on New Orleans/Cajun cuisine: Beignets: We purchased a small order includes 4 and marmalade jam. The consistency and texture is not correct. These tasted like fried balls of bread, not airy or hot. Ours were undercooked and rather than bring us a new order, the waitress brought a single room temperature beignet. Huevos Rancheros: An awful interpretation of this dish including tortillas fried beyond recognition(dark brown in color) accompanied by a thick layer of processed cheese so greasy that with the combination of the egg, one gets lost in a soup of yolk and grease. Chicken Egg White Omelet: A typical egg white omelet, not great, but edible. Our waitress forgot my salsa and made it seem like she had to pull some strings to get me a side. Breakfast Potatoes: Bland, boring, and barely seasoned. Price matters and when a restaurant charges premium prices, hardly any breakfast entrees under $10, there is an expectation that the food and service are worth the cost. Not the case here. One of my favorite pastimes is enjoying a good #breakfast outdoors. We make it a practice to visit Another Broken Egg when we are in the area and very rarely does it disappoint. During one of our most recent visits, I had the cinnamon roll French toast and WOW! It looked just like the picture and tasted amazing. This place still has some kinks it needs to workout, but overall I had a good meal! First of all, they do participate in the Nowait App so you can join the line before you get there which is awesome! Once you get there you just check in with the host and then wait for a text that your table is ready. My boyfriend and I started with 1/2 order of the beignets and we were disappointed. They were nothing special and lacking in flavor. I got the Bacquezo Omelet, which was good but again, nothing special. My boyfriend got the Floridian Omelet which he said was good. We also split one of the Bananas Foster pancakes and WOW probably my favorite part of the meal. The biggest issue for me was how SLOW the service was. I totally get it just opened and I did go on a Sunday, but geez. We placed our orders when our waitress finally showed up with the waters and it took 25 minutes for just the beignets to get to our table. Oh and our food was delivered to the wrong table! Then it took the waitress a good 15 minutes to even come back and get the check so we could leave. I'm so torn with this place. I've been here twice; one for takeout and another for sit down(with 1 person accompanying me). The food is phenomenal. I've ordered 2 separate things for each of my visits and both were absolutely delicious. The problem is the service. Yes, they are busy; that's fine. Yes, breakfast can take 15-20 min to come out; that's not a big deal. The issue is the staff. Both the bartender(for when I had takeout) and the server(when I ate in) were oddly scarce through most of my experience there. When I ate in, I rarely ever saw my server anywhere in the dining room. It's one thing if you're busy and running all over the place, it's another if my milk has been empty for 10 minutes and I've stopped eating and am literally looking around like an idiot for my server who hasn't even been in the dining room for the last 10 min. I finally had to ask another server(which I know annoys them when I'm not their table) but what else was I supposed to do? And then no apology or acknowledgement from the server for taking so long. Then when I had takeout, the bartender told me to wait in the lobby for the food I had ordered(20 min prior on the phone). and 20 min later the food hadn't been brought to me. I asked the hostess to check with the bartender and she had the food to me within 10 seconds, meaning my food had just been sitting in a bag somewhere and never brought out to me. Like I said, the food is delicious. But the consistently awful service makes me seriously question if it's worth it. Kinda like dating a good looking person with an awful personality.. there's only so much you're willing to put up with until you never want to see them again. read more

As a person who enjoys breakfast food at times other than breakfast, it is always appreciated to have a dining spot that offers those comfort foods throughout the week and after morning hours. This new South Tampa location of an already established brand is a welcome addition to the local dining scene that showcases breakfast and brunch favorites like omelets, pancakes, eggs Benedict and pancakes but tosses in some salads and sandwiches for good measure. Caution - hours only extend until 2 p.m. but that still allows plenty of time to sleep in or dig in during lunch. We started our eating adventure here with an order of Biscuit Beignets and they were met with great approval. Check out these wonderfully warm, nicely powdered sugared, tasty treats accompanied by honey marmalade. The omelet ordered by another diner looked like it was full of goodies and fluffy and he definitely declared it flavorful. I went a different direction and ordered the Turkey, Brie & Tomato sandwich and I found it a fantastic combination of tender, moist turkey, warm, melted brie, fresh, ripe tomato and spicy, siracha mayonnaise, all served on a light to the bite brioche bun. The menu offers lots of delicious options. The prices may cause some folks to pause but the quality and the serving size help to justify the - for the most part - double digit prices. There is a lot of seating indoors and a covered outdoor patio, plenty of surface parking and the interior is filled with warm colors, wall art and beautiful accents. About the main course, I highly recommend the Belgium chocolate waffle. It comes with some strawberry slices and it was so fresh! There isn't too much chocolate than I expected which is perfect because it won't take over the taste of the waffle.
