Went in for breakfast this morning. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great coffee and service. Reason for 3 stars instead of 5. Wanted to order pancakes. I am a vegetarian and the only pancake offered on menu has egg and breakfast meat. I asked if I can just get the pancakes with out proteins Waitress said yes and asked if I wanted 2 or 3 pancakes I said 3 since this was my entire breakfast. When I got my check I was charged $7.99 for 2 pancakes and $3.99 for the third pancake. So I paid $11.98 for 3 pancakes, no real maple syrup and tiny butter pats. I think this was excessive . If there was something of value for $11.99 I could justify it. Fresh fruit garnish, real Maple Syrup, a ramekin of butter but no just 3 pancakes on a plate. I was a hotel food and beverage director for 43 years and know about food and service. Service was great, dropped the ball on food. With competition like First Watch, KeKe cafe, Metro Diner you need to be at the top of your game when competing in this segment. read more

My husband and I came here early in the morning the day after Gasparilla and we had been wanting to check it out for awhile but the wait was always crazy long. We had ordered Uber Eats from here before and it was good but lukewarm by the time it got to our place (not the fault of the restaurant at all). We sat at the bar area and Michelle was our server and she was very sweet and personable. Since it was early morning and hardly anyone was there we talked with her most of the time we were there. I ordered the salmon Benedict and I can't remember what my husband ordered but he loved it. I loved my food too and it was hot and fresh. One of the cooks had come out while we were there and we told him how much we enjoyed the food as well as letting the manager know too. The best breakfast I've had in a while the hey Lucy omelette was to die for , service was great but what made me write this yelp was a cook named Justin or josh or something , he walked by our table upon ordering our food and asked if we were doing fine , I told him I had no idea what to get . First time I've ever been. Food was amazing. Prices fair. Service was great. I am a server myself and it is hard to impress me. I was apart of a party of 8. All of our food came out at the same time and all of it was hot. Very hard to accomplish with breakfast. I was impressed. We will definitely be back. read more

About two weeks ago, on Mother's Day, my family and I went to Another Broken Egg Café to have brunch and celebrate with my mother. The overall experience was good; the servers were really helpful and accommodating, as we were a large group, and we were not able to comfortably sit in one booth, thus they brought over an additional chair. However, the food was exquisite and well presented, but the only issue that I encountered was the extended wait time to get served probably due to a staff shortage, indeed, it took about 30-40 minutes for them to bring the food to our table; therefore, the service was really slow. Besides the long wait time, there is no other negative rating, one thing that I could recommend to the owner of the restaurant is to increase the staff number and provide more space due to the high demand, in addition to that on those holidays, it would be more profitable to the owner to extend the functioning hours. nonetheless, I would highly recommend anyone to go and have brunch there. The service was great. The food left something to be desired. I came in to make an order to go. After I made an order and waited at the bar I was asked 3 times by 3 different staffers if I needed to make an order. That was nice. The ambiance is pretty nice. Would like to come back for drinks perhaps. I ordered a couple of things. The beignet biscuits were good. We enjoyed those. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was not appetizing. I've been to Louisiana and have had great Louisiana style cooking consistently. I realize this place is inspired and has its own Florida twang to it too but I don't think I am a fan. The shrimp and grits was lacking flavor that was overpowered by the garlic. To be fair the menu explicitly calls out the garlic flavoring in the description. Perhaps a garlic lover will appreciate more than we did. We had an egg and sausage bowl that was not very flavorful by comparison to authentic Louisiana flavoring. If you are looking for something with a very mild Louisiana style cooking this may work for you. I would not recommend if you are looking for the authentic taste. read more

Hate to give this place 2 stars because the food is really good. Unfortunately the service was terrible, this is my 3rd time going and it hasn't gotten any better. I understand they were a little busy, nothing too crazy though. Control the things you can control, shouldn't have to ask the server for silverware. We ordered 2 waters and a bloody marry pitcher to start. The pitcher took 35 mins to get to us. The server blamed it on the bar when really he just completely forgot to pick it up from the bar. Then our food took another 30 mins. In total it was about 2 hours for brunch. That's an extremely long time for a breakfast spot. Need to be able to turn tables fast in hospitality. I've been in the hospitality industry for the past 15 years. Started as a dish washer and work myself up until I owned my own. Restaurant not the dish. I truly believe that the key to a successful business (restaurant or not) is consistency and communication. And this place has it!!! The staff is very well trained and professional! We have visited several locations in La and throughout Fla and have always enjoyed the food. At the new Tampa location it did not go well; the Crab Cake eggs benedict were over cooked and the abundance of garlic (6 half cloves) in my wife's Skinny Omelette egg white were totally over bearing. In addition they were out of grits. The manager (I think, didn't introduce himself) did take care of replacing the eggs benedict, but commented the amount of garlic was commonly used in the omelet. I ate there about a week ago and WOW!!! Great Service... Food was delicious. (Some would say a bit expensive, but I put this in the category of being a treat!!!) I purposefully order biscuits 'n gravy(I use this to judge as I myself make some damn good biscuits 'n gravy....) with sauage patties, eggs over medium with coffee. Well heck!!! They make better sausage gravy than I do!!! Simply delicious... Sausage patties the best I have ever had, and my eggs were cooked to perfection... Great service too. I was very disappointed with this place. I would think a breakfast place would know how to make decent eggs, but instead I was given the driest omelet I have ever had; very bland, poorly constructed, and too small for the price. I also substituted fruits for the grits, and I was given a few poorly sliced pieces of strawberries, kiwis, and raspberry, which were obviously not fresh and very bitter. It was our first time here and we were seated immediately. After being seated we waited 10 minutes or so for our server and no one ever greeted us to take our drink order. We were going to leave but we decided to sit at the bar. As soon as we sat down we were immediately greeted and served our drinks. The bloody Mary's were delicious. The bartenders service was impeccable. He had a huge section and still managed to take the time with each customer and make them feel welcomed. I can't say enough about how great his service was. Really bland and also really salty. Some food items taste like literally nothing while others are drowned in salt. There's no happy medium and there doesn't seem to be many spices present at this cafe - pretty disappointing for a place that is supposedly California-Cajun fusion. Most of the entrees here are extremely heavy and too decadent. The beignets are soggy, undercooked pieces of biscuit coated in powdered sugar that's congealed from the hot oil spurting out of the beignet. Overall, it is just an extremely pretentious iHop, but with worse food at double the price. First Watch is a 5 minute drive from here and much better, in my opinion. read more

Had lunch with a friend today and order the grilled chicken sandwich and was shocked how small my piece of chicken was. It was size of a tenderloin and didn't even fill half the bun. I mentioned it to our server and she did really seem to care. They also forgot the avocado that came with the sandwich. It was tasty but definitely not acceptable. read more

Food was outstanding! My family and I had a magical experience at Another Broken Egg. I would suggest this for a fine breakfast outing. But there was one problem. The portions were a little small at least for the breakfast, I don't know about dining options. For my 2 kids it was perfect but for a big man like me just wasn't enough. When I was visiting the location in Tampa I had a Fantastic experience at another broken egg so much so that I would rave about the meal I had to everyone I knew. I thought about it so much that I had to visit the Orlando location and what a terrible experience that was I would not visit again. I went in on a weekend during the day by myself and asked the host if I could sit at the bar which they said "sure you can if you can find a seat" as the wait for a table was one hour, 10 minutes goes by and a few people get up from the bar top so I go ahead and sit in the corner of the bar around the same time another couple sat at the bar and I waited (I checked) 15 minutes just to get the bar top where I was sitting cleared. I received very minimal service compared to those around me. My breakfast was served on a chipped plate which for $14 is not okay. There were two bartenders on so there was no reason to get treated the way that I did I am in the service industry myself so I still left over $10 on my $15 tab but as someone who loves breakfast I will never return to this business. read more

This was my first time trying this place. Very friendly wait staff. Our server was Lorycel, very upbeat and professional. Constant coffee refills (and they have two varieties of coffee of brewed coffee available). They have outdoor seating, and the ceilings are really high inside, creating a very spacious and pleasant environment for breakfast. Food was delicious and they have gluten free options. read more
