My options were limited since I don't eat pork and a majority of their meat is pork. They do have a chicken sausage, but looking at pictures. It looks like the casing may possibly be pork so I decided to avoid it just in case. I also got their cold brew, it didn't come with any cream or sweetener or anything to add. I probably should've asked for some, because I found the cold brew to just be OK. My husband got the chicken pot pie and said he expected more chicken in it. I think our overall feel of the food was it was fine, but not great. I won't run to come back here, but I also wouldn't be opposed to someone wanted to. I think that's the definition of three stars for me. Price is super reasonable, this meal will not break the bank.

After a North Tampa appointment, I wanted a treat. I used Waze to locate nearby restaurants. The name Himes Breakfast House popped up, so that's where I headed. The parking lot was filled and there was a line at the door. Bye, bye for now. I remembered Another Broken Egg on S. Dale Mabry, next to one of my favorite hamburger shops. This was at 10 am. A few parking spots were open, Easy peasy. Being still chilly out, I was seated at a booth. The cafe was spotless and inviting, just as on my first visit. Service was adequate and friendly, but one doesn't expect table cloths and professional waitstaff. (This isn't a complaint nor a denigration of the staff! They are standard for casual dining establishments. Waiting is not an easy job.) My food was mostly good. The Traditional Day Starter: Eggs over easy, sausage patties (hand-formed, not the mediocre sausages found in grocery stores), English muffin (toasted just enough - a rarity), and "fresh country potatoes" (i.e. freeze-dried and reconstituted little potato squares - what you might buy in a supermarket. Sad. Not fresh, not country - next time it's grits.), coffee (good), and a side of gravy ( white, just liquid enough, peppery) that is the best I've found in Florida. (The proprietary hot sauce is tasty enough, but not compelling; not overly hot, a touch tomato sweet.) Overall, I was well filled, happy with the pleasant service from Jolee, and food. (The staff offers take-out coffee if you ask for a refill. A plus.) The slight drawback is that the prices are as high as those at First Watch. With tax, before tip: $17.33. I think it was worth it. Went to Another Broken Egg in South Tampa on a Sunday late morning with a group of seven, and it was such a great experience from start to finish! Even with the weekend crowd, our wait was only about 20 minutes. The host was super welcoming, asked if we had kids with us to better accommodate seating, (no kids, but as someone who often does have kids in their group it was such a thoughtful touch). Our waitress was just as friendly and gave some fantastic recommendations. We started with the beignets and they were absolutely delicious, definitely a must order! We tried a variety of dishes and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), everything was packed with flavor. Portions aren't huge, but the quality and taste more than make up for it. Between the great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service, this is an easy 5 stars. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying something new! read more

I went in on Monday and they were a packed house. It took a while to be seated however, the food came out quickly for what we expected for them being so busy. The manager even came out to let a lot of the tables know that they were working hard, and the food would be up shortly. I would say my food took no longer than 15 mins which again not horrible for the volume. The staff was amazing, and the service was great. Overall, I'd recommend, however, just keep in mind when a place is run well, they're busy so holidays you're going to wait. read more
