Given that Spokane is pretty inland, fresh seafood will always be somewhat limited and/or expensive, so keep that in mind. Anyway Anthony's in Spokane is quite good, and I will say the best seafood in Spokane (not saying much, but it's good trust me). They do have a great outside view of the Spokane Falls which is nice if you can get a table there, just do it during warmer months. Anyway our service was fast and friendly. I.E. I ordered some mussels and I noticed a good third of them weren't cooked enough for them to open up, I simply asked if they could just reheat it some more to get the mussels to open. They re cooked a whole new batch for me, that was nice. Anyway my main entree (even though it's been YEARS since I visited) was the Dungeness Crab Fettuccine Alfredo w/mushrooms. It was THAT GOOD that I still remember it, and crave it each time I'm back in Spokane (which is usually Hoop fest or Bloomsday so fettuccine Alfredo is usually not a good idea). This is my favorite place for Seafood in Spokane. I love the view of the Spokane Falls. It's lovely to sit outside in the summer. The fish is fresh and always delicious. We came to Anthony's for my sister's graduation dinner from Gongaza - while the waitress was friendly, she mostly disappeared for the evening and rarely came back to replace beverages and ask if we needed anything. When our food came all three of the steaks were cooked improperly (I returned mine and got the scallops which was a much better choice) and after asking the server for a steak knife (which didn't come with the meal) we had to flag down a busser who finally brought us one. The mussels were also a huge disappointment; the broth looked like dishwasher and had absolutely no flavor. Inedible calamari caesar-the calamari was so heavily breaded and fried, I could taste nothing but 'brown,' and the dressing seemed straight from a sysco jar (nothing like what real caesar should be). I sent it back. Oyster shooters were massive and good, but I would expect as much since they just need to be shucked and served fresh. The crabcake appetizer for 18$+ was quite spendy for two cakes the size of small apricots. However, they were crispy, light, and most importantly, pure crab. I loathe that some places serve you crab flavored breadcrumbs. I don't know that I would go back except to try the $37 salmon entree. Not. read more

We ate here tonight, with reservations for a party of around 30. We waited in the entry way for about ten minutes before they seated us. Then, even though we made our reservations as a group, they served us at different rates. In fact, three of our tables waited an hour and ten minutes before we got our entrees. yes--Water, drinks, and bread and butter for an hour and ten minutes. Even at just our table, they did not manage to serve us all at once; so after waiting for so long, some at our table were eating their meal while a few others were still waiting. They did offer us dessert to compensate for the slow service. None of us had entrees amazing enough to warrant the high-end prices. Some entrees were even a little cool, and we agreed that the portions were unusually small. Best view for dining in Spokane, overlooking the Spokane Falls and city skyline. Food and choices are excellent as is the service. You simply cannot go wrong. It is our "Go To" place with out if town guests and family. We have probably had everything on their menu at one time or another. Went there last night with my husband and best friend for her birthday. The food here was pretty crappy. It's one thing if I was eating at a standard family dining restaurant, but this place is supposed to be one of the more upscale restaurants. Ummm no. Service was fine, and they refilled my water a lot, so that was nice. However, the food seemed to be canned (soup, shrimp for shrimp cocktail, etc.), with the cocktail sauce being more on the ketchup side. Bread was good, but did not seem like they made it. The main courses were actually pretty good though. If this were a different kind of restaurant and not showcased as upscale, I would probably give them at least 2 to 3 stars instead. It seems like they are counting on the view to make up for their food quality. It is a nice view at at that. read more

We had a visitor from Atlanta requesting seafood so we took him to Anthony's. The food overall was quite good but the exceptional part of the visit was how they dealt with my entree, which came not to my satisfaction. My daughter and I both ordered crab fettuccini with some variations on the veggies that were included. When the dishes came out, my daughter's dish looked great, mine looked ok but appeared to not have any crab in it at all. I called this to the attention of our server, who took the dish back with no questions and only apologizes. When the dish came back, it was excellent. And when we received our bill, my dinner was not included even though they had clearly corrected their mistake. First time to Anthony's and came on a recommendation from a friend. Started off great from a nice and attentive valet to being seated within five minutes of our reservation. Our server was friendly and helpful we ordered our drinks that arrived about ten minutes later. I had the clam chowder and it was wonderful. The bread was okay although my wife said she preferred that it be baked longer and sliced completely. I ordered the cod and it was fair at best and my wife ordered the shrimp scampi. My plate came to the table hot but not her's, first red flag. She tried her rice and she said it was cold second red flag. The third, and final red flag came when she tried the shrimp, it was stuck to the plate, rubbery and lukewarm at best. Remove the food from the equation, and you've got yourself a nice place, attentive staff, good drinks, and great view but alas this is a restaurant and the food should be the number one priority. I've worked in several restaurants in my younger days and I know that her plate sat waiting for my order to be completed, unacceptable. My wife won't be back and I assure you, I go where she goes. read more

We went for a birthday dinner - The advertised "Early Bird Special" was not so special - it was a much smaller portion of the things they have on the dinner menu.The fish was the size of a pack of cards, and the vegetable was a a very small portion. Served on a very large plate which made it look even smaller than it was. We asked for an extra couple of bread baskets, just so we could have a satiated feeling in our tummies. The Caesar salad had old lettuce and no dressing - just lettuce with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. 2 croutons per serving. Speaking of serving - it too well over an hour to get our meals. The appetizer (shrimp cocktail) was bay shrimp that had recently been defrosted. My son couldn't finish his breaded oyster entree. The raw oyster appetizer was two (2) oysters. Went there for the 4th of July with the family and had an amazing meal, view, and a great server. We were a party of six ready to relax on the patio and our server let us do just that. We didn't get to order until 2:30pm and their brunch usually ended at 4:00...however, our server worked his magic and let 4 of us order off the brunch menu. They brought us copious amounts of sour dough and blueberry crumb muffins which were excellent! The breakfast tacos were excellent and everyone else seemed to enjoy their menu as well. The view of the falls is quite magical and the weather was perfect. I came here with intentions of sitting on the riverfront deck so we put in our name and waited an easy and relaxing 35 min at the inside bar. We then were seated on the deck in the left corner right in front of the falls. All we had was some wines and beers as well as the baked crab dip appetizer. The dip was about half the size I would have wanted so us three devoured it within 5 minutes. Luckily it was happy hour so we didn't have to pay the full price. I live in a small town in Washington so coming to Spokane is always a culinary treat. Also growing up in Washington Anthony's has always been legendary. So getting a chance to eat at this restaurant was highly anticipated. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the Anthony's name. The view of the falls was the best thing about the restaurant. The building itself is outdated and several of the staff had dirty/stained uniforms. The food, which should have been the star of night, was bland. My husband and I both had the sunset dinner. I had the shrimp cocktail, ceasar salad and cod. The shrimp was OK but the ceasar and cod were pretty tasteless. My husband's was slightly better with a salmon appetizer and black rock fish. The clam chowder was the best dish he had. With all the wonderful restaurants Spokane has to offer I was disappointed to waste a dinner here. read more
