The Mac & cheese was a little underwhelming, flavor wise; the pasta was great...just felt like it lacked a little seasoning or maybe creaminess. I want to LOVE this place...but I ended up just liking it. Came in for New Years and ordered my annual filet (I almost never eat red meat). The steak was just ok! Not very well seasoned and not buttery how I like it (think Ruth's Chris buttery). It just dried up as I was eating it. The burger was very good and the side cars were too. This review may be slightly biased as I have become a regular since the restaurant is in such close proximity to my house, but here we go: Anthony's is my go to restaurant in carmel. The staff and decor is second to none, every member seems an expert in their craft. While the food had some hiccups when they first opened the doors, they have had years to lock it down. I consider it the best steak house in the city. The wine list is massive and hits every price point, and has fabulous wines for every palate. They have a few bottles under 100 we get every time, and a few over 500 we get for special occasions. (HALL by the glass is great as well). Bourbon list is a big hit. Rare bottles show up often and allow the casual consumer to taste some very hard to get stuff. Pricey, but appropriately pricey. Most importantly, is how we are treated from the second we walk in the door. Its quite the air of mutual respect. As someone who has frequented multiple Michelin starred restaurants, its nice to not be surrounded by overly critical French waitstaff. Also, a must hit, is their rewards program. It essentially guarantees your meals are 10% off (1000$ spent = 100$ off your next bill). Its also a nice bonus for corporate dinners/gatherings. Best steak I've had in a LONG time. Anymore restaurants always over cook the steaks but this one was cooked to perfection! We love the tempura cauliflower appetizer. My Marie Antoinette drink was just the right amount of sweet as well. Now on to the sides.... The mashed potatoes and street corn are truly unbelievable. We couldn't stop talking about them after every bite. The meal was so fabulous. Ended dinner with a great cold brew martini, and tiramisu which I thought was alright. Hold on! Am I in NYC? This restaurant is fabulous. The architecture and decor are stunning! Four of us were seated at a half booth/two chairs on the main level. This area had a cozy feel, despite the high ceilings and large space. Our waiter, Alex, was excellent. My husband and I always share dishes because we trick ourselves into thinking we aren't eating too much that way. We had the lobster bisque, which was served in an unusual bowl, and the beet carpaccio salad (which was quite tasty). Next we shared the roasted chicken poulet rouge. This dish featured two servings of a wing, thigh, breast combo and the sauce with English peas was divine. Definitely shareable as I couldn't even finish my half. Fresh bread and butter were delivered during the meal and a carafe of water was left on the table. Our friends shared the short ribs. As for the sides, four of us shared the twice broiled Yukon's and Brussels au gratin. Both were hot and delicious and proved to be plenty for four people. My friend was celebrating her 70th birthday and received a complimentary piece of creamy cheesecake (with four forks!) Check out the menu online before you go to prepare yourself for the pricing. I had a table to myself and it was extra roomy of course. I set by the bar in a booth and had the beat service. Didnt feel like I was missing anything. I had the got cheese dip. Can we just say that it was devine! The bread made it taste like love in a plate. I then had the roasted chicken. It was also amazing the lemon sauce poured table side made that much more flavorful. And of course I can't leave out the MAC! Yummy! Kiddo note: not a place I would bring my kiddos until they were at least 13 and up. I cannot express any opinion on the food besides that it was just very salty. No real flavor besides salt. My husband had the delmonico(?) and I had the swordfish We both got the lobster bisque. Lobster bisque was creamy and rich. Big chunks of lobster. Main flavors were heavy cream and salt. My swordfish was well done without option, kind of fishy which is strange for swordfish, and most of all just excessively salted. The crust also tasted contaminated by other meats like the cook top wasn't scraped between. I've eaten a lot of fish and it was pretty mediocre in execution, I kind of regret ordering it. But I'm a bit of a fish snob. Husband's steak was medium rare trending towards rare which is fine. Cooked well without a gradient in the meat. Husband said the crust tasted strangely bitter in a way he couldn't identify, not like a char, but like it has burnt bits of other foods. I did not try it myself but his description was similar to my own experience with my swordfish without my input. Like it was cooked on a dirty cook top. Apparently also very very salty. Waiter recommended the cauliflower putanesca. Interesting idea but what we got was a steamed head of green cauliflower in a puddle of sauce. The cauliflower had no real taste and was rather mushy. The sauce was sharp and bright but ultimately salty. I also had a very good Paloma. Not sure what to say, I expected more from reviews and accolades but it was just standard steakhouse fare. read more

What I'd hoped would be a peaceful anniversary dinner with intimate conversation was instead a bit stressful at times for a lack of being able to hear each other-- and we were seated literally side by side. We agree with other reviewers commenting on a problem with sound / noise levels in this building. The waiter confirmed to us that people complain about it all the time. We had the wagyu meatball appetizer, twin lobster tails, spinalis, asparagus and potatoes. All food ranged from really good to great. Of course great food should be expected at a pricey place like this, as well as the very good, professional service from everyone including the valet, host and wait staff. Apparently my wife had mentioned we were coming to celebrate, as they had a congratulations card at the ready when we arrived and gave us bourbon bread pudding, too. We came here for our anniversary, and we loved every second. The service was incredible. Our waitress did a great job helping us choose a few things off the menu, and she even offered to take a bunch of pictures of us at the end of our meal! Perfect service! The food was just as perfect. We started with the oysters which came with two different sauces, both delicious. We then split the lobster bisque per suggestion of our waitress. Again, so good! I love lobster bisque and this was one of the best I've had. For dinner, I had the filet with the truffle butter and we had the Calle corn. Everything was cooked perfectly and so delicious! I was so incredibly full but finished my meal because it was just that good. They brought us a bread pudding on the house for our anniversary and it was just as good of the rest of the meal. Stunning interior here. Kinda cool that they have a sign that reads "As always, it was a pleasure" as you leave the restaurant. I thought that was a nice detail. Unfortunately I can't really afford to dine here, but I indulged a little bit. It is pricey, but the service is great and the food quality is exceptional. I had the French Martini, which is different than other's I had before; however, it is quite delicious. Light and fruity, sweet, but not sticky sweet. It does pack a punch, so don't drink too many. Definitely not watered down. I ordered the cauliflower appetizer and was blown away. The breading on the cauliflower was perfect, not overwhelming and perfectly crisp. The morsels were placed on top of a red pepper puree (sauce) which complemented the taste very well. Sprinkled with pickled asparagus pieces, which spiced up the dish a bit. For my main course I ordered the burger. It looks fairly small, but it is actually a double patty and quite filling. The goat cheese gives it a nice flavor and the fries were delicious also. I had the opportunity to eat at Anthony's Chophouse. We started by getting the Cauliflower appetizer. It was okay at best but tolerable. It had a unique taste that did not set well with my stomach so I gave it a D. We next had the Anthony's Salad salad Wedge that was really a treat. It is a must have! I gave it an A. Next we went straight to the main course that included the NY Strip Sirloin. This was delightful but be sure to get medium well done. I gave the streak a B because the steak was Luke warm but excellent flavor. We ordered Mac n cheese as a side. I gave it a C because it did not taste fresh. What an excellent experience at this gem of a reataurant! The interior is beautiful, reminiscent of a New York or Chicago restaurant in the heart of Carmel. We are on the second floor with a nice view of the arts district at night. The service was great and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the broiled goat cheese as an appetizer. I had the New York strip and my boyfriend has the filet--excellent. Pro tip: add on the truffle oil to maximize your flavor and make a classy experience even more posh. So I've been here twice over the past couple of months and fortunately was not the holder of the check at the end of the night....expect the highest prices and the best service. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the unfortunate disconnect between their price point and the steak quality. I expect to be wowed by flavor, texture and tenderness at this price (with or without the upsold marrow or other offered compound butters) but each time the steak (their cowgirl ribeye) was surprisingly underwhelming. Know too that some of their steaks are "Wagyu" but there are differences in grades of Wagyu. Now, the bar turns out excellent cocktails and as I said the servers are first class. I'll start by saying the service at Anthony's Chophouse was great and I am so excited that we have such a lovely local restaurant like this in Indy. Indy is known for steakhouses, and this is a nice change-up from all of the traditional local steakhouses. The place has tall ceilings and a modern yet traditional atmosphere. While similar to a steakhouse it definitely is one with a twist. To begin, I had two great cocktails and my husband and I shared the charred shrimp, which had an amazing rub, and the Pacific Cove Crab Bake. Both were absolutely delicious. For entrees, I had the Hot Fried Chick and my husband had the Wagyu Chophouse Burger. I found the burger to be the star of the two entrees. It was so juicy, and was between two buttery buns, with cheese perfectly melted. It was served with garlic fries and house-made ketchup. While I enjoyed the Hot Chicken, this is pretty much my reason for a 4 instead of 5 stars. The chicken was decent, but it was not hot or spicy in any way and unfortunately, the thing I was most disappointed by was the amount of batter to chicken ratio. Additionally, I hoped there would have been more white meat, but it was mostly dark. We dined on filet with bone marrow butter, tuna steak special, tuna tataki, shrimp sambal and Charlie's pounders meatballs. The Waygu meatballs were our favorite. They were absolutely amazing. They were served with a delicious mushroom ragout and Parmesan. They were some of the best meatballs we have ever had. For sides, we had the mushrooms and onions and twice-broiled Yukon potatoes. Although with a bad knee the trip up so many stairs wasn't too fun. (You might ask your guests if upstairs works for them.) With that said, our meals were slightly above average. In fairness, we have both had cuts of beef and sides much better at Ruth Chris, Eddie Merlots, and Ten West. We did enjoy the crab cakes that were decently prepared before our meal, but my husband was very disappointed with the wedge salad, with not enough dressing and fried onion strings on top.
