    Ultimate Antigua Breakfast
    Alicia N.

This is a spacious Guatemalan café with delicious food. They are open mainly for breakfast and lunch. When you arrive, you order at the counter and they will bring your food to your table. It looks like it could be a good place to study or work as well. I'm not sure if they have Wi-Fi. For parking, there's a lot behind the building that tends to be busy. I tried their Ultimate Antigua Breakfast. The black beans on the plate were divine. I would come back for the beans alone.

Antigua Breakfast. As a Nicaraguan Central American, this tastes like home. All delicious. The bread is flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. I wished they gave more cheese. The Plátano is the perfect sweetness to the savory dish. I've returned multiple times. The workers a very pleasant as well.

I surprised my Guatemalan boyfriend by taking him to Antigua Bread for breakfast. He was pleasantly satisfied with the his choices. The coffee was delicious and strong. He ordered the Mayan Breakfast and I ordered a pork tamale with an horchata latte. Everything was delicious

Unexpected Gem! Way More Than Just Bread & Pastries! Had I known Antigua Bread offered a full menu, I would have been here so much sooner. I thought it was just breads, pastries, and coffee, but man have I been missing out! Stopped in for a much-needed caffeine fix and a quick breakfast to go on a busy, errand-filled morning. We ordered: - breakfast burritos (get their salsa. yum) - iced lattes (sweet but not too sweet. clean and strong espresso, perfection) - and (of course) a couple of sweets. Everything was absolutely delicious! There's a surprisingly large dining area, and it looks like they've recently expanded to accommodate even more guests. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. I really appreciate when staff offer up suggestions and share their personal favorites. Plenty of free parking in the lot that connects the shopping area and nearby housing units makes it super convenient, too. Can't wait to come back and try even more from the menu!

Dropped into Antigua Bread for some coffee and a quick bite. There was plenty of parking available, which made things easy. The employee behind the counter was very kind and provided great service. We ordered a couple of iced coffees and a breakfast burrito to go. The coffee was delicious--smooth, flavorful, and definitely something I'd come back for. The burrito was for a family member, and she said it was really good as well. I signed up for their rewards program before leaving, already planning to return. Between the great service and the quality coffee, this spot is a solid choice for breakfast or a quick caffeine fix.

3/5/26 Antigua Bread LA Verne, CA...Came here with a super good friend! I ordered the Chiliquiles breakfast and she had the Chicken Pesto Sandwich & Fries that we shared. She bought two chocolate croissants and I got a bear claw and peach Danish for desserts. I also had a Hot Caramel Vanilla Latté and she had a hibiscus tea for drinks. It was an overall great visit, great food, great service, and great conversation! Anna is a very nice employee here! The restaurant was very clean and props to a very clean men's restroom! I will be back!!!

Breakfast sandwich, really good side potatoes

Good overall spot in regard to taste, quality, prices, and service. There is plenty of indoor seating but the music is a bit loud. We sat outside and it was nice and calm. The sandwich was good but nothing special. The bread could have been more toasted. The star was honestly the potatoes which was surprising. They were so flavorful! I ate a decent amount and I'm not a fan of potatoes cooked like that.

Ample amount of seating, breakfast all day, and friendly staff. The only con is that parking is limited in the lot behind the plaza and there's barely any street parking. Our breakfast dishes were great and I really enjoyed the potatoes as most places undercook them or don't season properly. Several of us got the chicken sandwiches which were good and came with a choice of sides like fries or salad. I really liked the kids options (cheeseburger, pancakes, etc) and it came with apple or orange juice.

Kinda nasty. Not worth it. Not fresh. Waste of money & time.

Would not return. Don't waste your time My partner and I walked in about 10 minutes after they opened at 8 am on a Sunday, they didn't even greet us, immediately we were felt a cold, unfriendly, awkward energy. My partner said "i dont want to order anything" after he saw the kitchen and caught a whiff of the smell. I thought they'd have fresh bread or something but it didn't smell like fresh bread. It had a weird unclean smell. The lady at the register didn't even say "bye" let alone "have a nice day" The croissants taste stale and after a couple of bites I'm just thinking thank god we didn't stay and sit down to eat. Owner should look into having more friendly and welcoming or lively folks work there.

I attended the opening of Antigua Bread Cafe, when I read about its new location in La Verne. They are open 7 days and week for breakfast, lunch or dinner (-except Sunday, they close at 4pm). Breakfast is served all day, which is an option I really like. When I hear the word "bread," I anticipate an array and a good variety to choose from (sourdough, multi-grain, rye, croissant, whole wheat, biscuit, etc.). Imagine my disappointment when my breakfast sandwich was on white toast with bacon, egg and cheese. I cannot remember the last time I ate white sandwich bread. Not only that, but in a couple of places the crust was separated from the bread. It was falling apart. I know the bread was fresh since this was the first day in business. It was very busy, so I just accepted it instead of waiting for another sandwich. The food was tasty and served with diced potatoes. I saw other customers enjoying omelets, tamales, pastries and coffee drinks. The lunch and dinner menu has a good selection of food, like burgers, Tuna melt, Club sandwich, Smoked turkey and Crispy chicken sandwiches, Tacos, Burritos, Nachos, Steak Picado, Enchiladas, and Tortas. I am going to return and give them another chance because the menu has a lot to choose from. Reservations are not required. You simply walk up to the counter, place your order, and pay. The cashier, will give you a number. When your number is called, pick your food up at the same counter.

Coworker's Paradise in North Pomona! (sorry if it sounds like I'm writing a Zillow listing, but I'm…read morejust trying to get this to show up in search results if anyone else is curious LOL) OUTLETS: Plenty of outlets!!! There's a set of steps with pillows on each step with a block of about six outlets beside them, and a really comfy, sinky couch (plus an ottoman and two comfy looking armchairs and a big table in the middle) with a set of two outlets on the wall and a star shaped power strip sticking out of the ground with six outlets coming out of it. There are also regular tables and it seems like there are outlets beside them as well. WIFI: The wifi is open (no password necessary), even though they have a password listed where you pick up your food (it's just Sanctuary Coffee). I tried to use one of the locked ones (the only one that made sense), but the wifi password didn't work, so I'm not sure why they have one listed. Regardless, albeit not the fastest wifi I've ever used, it's incredibly doable. I have been working remote here for 1.5 hrs and had almost no issues. MENU: For LA, relatively cheap. I am not a coffee or tea drinker, so I got the peach Italian soda, which was yummy. I believe it was about $4.89, which is not bad at all. I went to And Destroy in the Highland Park-ish area, and I believe an Italian soda with cream (cream is free here) was maybe $7-8. I'm used to paying more for drinks because the specialty (non coffee and tea) drinks are usually pricey, but this was one of the cheapest things on the menu. Also, you can claim a free pastry with your email and first name on their website (it sends you a voucher, just show the email). I got the banana bread, which was fine. I would've gotten zucchini, but it wasn't chocolate chip zucchini. ATMOSPHERE: Not too loud, the music is nice and chill and not very loud. There's cute art on the walls and homey looking lamps. It's the quintessential living room coffee shop, perhaps even rivaling Republik Coffee in Burbank in comfiness, noise level, aesthetic, and price (which is a bummer, because I likely will never be back - we just happened to be in North Pomona today, and I have no idea when we'd ever elect to drive this far again LOL). PARKING: It's in a little strip mall, so there's an actual aboveground lot with plenty of free parking (at least I think it's free, I got dropped off so I didn't pay much attention). Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking to cowork in a cozy atmosphere for relatively cheap in the North Pomona area. It checks all of my boxes except distance from home. I hope this review helps someone, because I always try to find this information on Yelp about new places to visit and it can be very difficult to find! BATHROOM: I believe there are two single person bathrooms like not stalls just one bathroom. Cute art and aesthetic inside, there are hooks on the walls for your stuff. The air dryer was not very strong and there were no paper towels or seat covers, but other than that there was a nice faucet and cute nice soap like homey soap you'd see in someone's house, and the lock worked fine.

The service was great, they were attentive and quick, the drinks came out quick as well! Coffee : got the plain vanilla latte with almond milk because I wanted to try their coffee/lattes without all the extra flavorings. My friend got the creme brulee latte, and overall they both kinda tasted more like milk than coffee. And I understand that they are lattes but I barely tasted coffee. The food is where I was more disappointed in. I got both chicken pesto and turkey swiss panini. Chicken pesto: had no pesto, I had asked the server if the pesto was a spread vs chicken flavored with pesto or something because i was confused on why I just got a chicken and cheese panini, and they told me it should be a spread. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad, but a panini pressed chicken and cheese is baseline good. Turkey Swiss: had no arugula, and I mean not a huge deal but if its unavailable it should be expressed or at least changed on the menu? Again not a bad sandwich but it was just a turkey Swiss panini with not much else so I'm not sure if i would want to pay $10+ for it. I want to try their matcha but I'm debating if its worth to gamble seeing if it's going to be good matcha or just a sweet drink. Nothing wrong with a sweet treat, but more a personal preference if I'm looking for a quality coffee/ matcha.

It's not awful, but it tastes frugal. I arrived at Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) on Sunday (around 12:20PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. My immediate impression of the location's interior is "abandoned warehouse." There's cardboard boxes lying about; the lights are dim & gloomy; and the furniture & walls looked old and poorly maintained. There were no customers, other than myself. Staff zipped out from the back when I'd entered. There's no self-service kiosks, so customers order at the counter. Staff is friendly and welcoming. After receiving my drink, Staff vanished into the back for the entire time. The drink took one minute and six seconds. Fast!! As mentioned, the Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (additional 79 cents) is not awful. It's big, cheap, and thirst-quenching. Although the boba lacked any perkiness, I did appreciate its very small sweetness. Concerning the ambiance, it felt sad. Chairs had mysterious black stains, dust & webs gripped the windows' corners, yellow & aged plants lazed about, and lights stayed dimly lit like a haunted house. However, there's utility. Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) has six electrical outlets. There's also customer internet with password; details on the plastic countertop. And there's a restroom for customers. In addition, the floors and tables are fairly clean. Overall, Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) feels like a forgotten relic of time. At the very minimum, it's an adequate establishment. If you're searching for affordability and a place to study/work, there's potential. 3.3 out of 5

Also, a little insider tip: if you're feeling under the weather and want something better than a Starbucks Medicine Ball, order the Remedy Tea. It is so soothing and I highly recommend it! My recent experience: On my last visit, things felt a bit off. The staff seemed really rushed--they actually started making our drinks while we were still in the middle of ordering. Because of the rush, they missed my milk modification and the drink ended up being way too sweet, to the point where I couldn't really drink it. What saddened me most was that the cashier was pretty rude and dismissive toward us. We actually felt so uncomfortable that we didn't even want to ask for a remake, so we just headed out.
