If i could give this place -5 stars i would! I go in to buy a lower receiver for my ar 15 build. After talking with the sales guy he convinces me on a spikes lower with DPMS parts kit. Albeit these guys did not have the cheapest price in the bay area. 11 days later: I go to pick up my lower and hop in my car. After getting back on the freeway i look at my lower and to my surprise it is stamped with "FACTORY BLEMISHES" and "FACTORY REFURBISHED". WTF!!!! I immediately call in and the sales jerk responded with 'err', 'ummmm' let me talk to my manager. I waited on hold for about 5 minutes all the while i am driving back. The manager says "oh we already discounted you for the refurb' ??????? WTFFFFF?? I never saw a discount or was told that i am buying refurbished. I am stuck with a refurbished item that i a) overpaid for and b) was not told about. Screw this place, they do not deserve the business. Tried to give Antioch Armory a second chance, but of course they blew it! Went in there with cash to purchase a Springfield Armory XD .40 sub-compact. Antioch Armory had it for $555. I went in there and stood at the counter, while one employee was on the store cordless phone at the front counter with his feet up not 8 feet from me. Now back in the days when the big guy there was the boss it was an awesome place to get guns,ammo,cleaning supplies. the man made you feel like a good friend,and man they had a big dog just kicking inside. Anyways the prices where very nice and i got me a few guns from him and i brought over my kid brothers for their guns as well. Well Fat man sold and left us all with the new owners and they are ok i guess. My last gun i got their was my G34 and i paid way to much for it,but that was my wife`s valentines present to me so i got it anyways. Friendly and informative local shop, especially for a beginner. I had a bad experience at this place in their old location about ten years ago, so I was a bit dubious about coming back. After getting back into shooting this summer after 5 or 6 years I dropped in to get some hearing protection. The shop was great about letting me open up and try a few on for me and my twelve year old. I casually asked if they sold Savage rifles, as I had been looking for a specific rifle they made and I had been having trouble finding it. Every shop in the area told me it would be at least 8 weeks or even longer, and being an admittedly impatient person I didn't want to wait. I was surprised to hear that Antioch Armory could get it for in less time than the waiting period. I ordered one that day, and ten days later picked up my rifle. As a somewhat new shooter I had a great experience at this shop. I told them I didn't know crap about bolt actions and they showed me how to properly remove and install the bolt without looking at me like I was idiot. We all know a lot of gun shops can be a bit judgmental (those this is not always a bad thing, keeping the morons away from firearms is a good thing. read more

For a place to be called an authorized dealer and not have any those products in stock is very bad business. I went to buy a Kimber 1911 Raptor with cash in hand and was told they could order one but I would have to wait a year to a year and a half. Then I was told I should buy a Rock Island it was just as good or even better then Kimber. LMFAO!!! If that is what they are selling count me out! This supposed armory has very few firearms in the store. I would hardly call it a armory, more like a flee market. The customer service is very poor. The following day I went to another local shop and purchased my weapon. Not only did they have my model but they had 7 others in stock. I guess that one year BS was just that BS! I went to this store to purchase a gun for work, and I was told that I needed a 5 year certificate after I showed my guard card and weapons permit. I didn't argue at all I walked straight out knowing what happened to me. I'm a very tall Black man. I'm a Supervisor for an Armed Guard firm, and I was fed some bologna because they didn't want my money for some "odd" reason. I left there and went to Hook, Line, and Sinker in Oakley. I purchased the Blue Label Glock 17, and they gained a customer who hires in this region. I will tell everyone I know about my experience and personally drive new employees to Hook, Line and Sinker for anything they need. Yes I qualify for the Blue Label Glock Antioch Armory. Much like in the movie pretty woman, I walked into Antioch Armory with about $40,000 in my bank account looking to purchase about $5000 worth of various firearms. I was treated like I didn't belong there, and they gave me the cold shoulder. Every question I asked was scoffed at. They acted like I was wasting their time. We've been dealing with the Armory for a number of years now and have purchased many of our weapons from them. They have also performed FFL services for us on several occasions. We have never had an issue with the service or their products and have found the staff to be very knowledgable and friendly. We have tried shopping at other gun dealers in Contra Costa county and we were treated as if they were doing us a favor by answering even simple questions. Here's a little background info. I try to support local, brick & mortar retail stores. I've spent over 15 years of my life working in a brick & mortar retail store and appreciate the value that retail stores can provide to consumers. Back on 08/21/2014, I stepped into Antioch Armory for the first time. I can't say that I was overwhelmed by their pistol selection, but the fact that they had more than a handful on display is helpful for a gun buyer. I was not in the market to buy a gun, but wanted to buy SOMETHING to show my support to a local store. I ended up purchasing three magazines for a Smith & Wesson M&P9, even though the pricing was not as low as I could have purchased from either an online store, or through my own wholesale account with a distributor (as a reseller). The only receipt I received was my credit card transaction slip. Once I returned home, I unpacked the magazines from their retail plastic boxes and threw away the packaging. From my first experience, I would have given Antioch Armory 3-stars. Their selection was not 5-stars, their service was not 5-stars. But since they were courteous (after asking for help), they did not deserve 1-star either. Fast forward to four days ago. I finally went to the range and loaded up the magazines. Sadly, one of the magazines I purchased was assembled incorrectly; apparently it is a 10-round magazine tube for an M&P9, but with an M&P40 base, and would not feed the M&P9 Full Size (since the overall length is too short). Sure, it was my fault for not checking 8 months ago to make sure that all magazines were correct and the same. I accept that. So, today I went back to see if there was anything they could do to help. First response was that without the retail packaging, they would not be able to take it back, especially to resell it. Secondly, I was told that their return policy is 30 days. Thirdly, I was told they did not have any of the full-size magazines in stock. I get that a retailer may not want to take back an item without the packaging. I also get that it is past their 30 day return policy. And I also get that they do not currently have any in stock. Their suggestion was for me to either, try to find someone that needs it to trade, or sell it online. But here's where my input begins. Based on my follow-up visit today, it's deserving of 1-star. Perhaps offer the customer a solution to the problem (that may have been the fault of the salesperson to begin with - when the incorrect item was presented). An idea might be to take the item back with a restocking fee. Even a sizable restocking fee. Lets say the customer paid $42 for each magazine. The profit made from the sale might be $35-$40 (more or less). Offer to take back the incorrect magazine for $25 and see if the customer would take it as an gesture of good will. Then order the correct magazine for $42 and sell the incorrect magazine (w/o packaging) for $35. As a side note, back in February or March 2015, I stopped in to see if they had any H&K P30/VP9 10-round magazines. After browsing around for over 10 minutes, without a greeting from any of the employees, I finally asked if they had any in stock. The employee (A) I was speaking with did not know, and had to ask the other employee (B) sitting behind a computer screen if they had any in stock. (B) told (A) that they did not have any in stock. (A) relayed the information to me. I asked (A) if they could order them. (A) asked (B) if they could order them. (B) looked on his screen and told (A) "no". (A) told me "no". If you could imagine the scene, it was pretty hilarious, as (A) was standing to my left by two feet and (B) was seated to my right by 6 feet. From someone with years consulting with small businesses, I'd suggest trying to greet every single potential (and existing) customer within the first minute of them walking through the door. Don't make the customer feel as if they are bothering the employees. If a business is unable to help the customer, perhaps offer the customer a suggestion on where to get the help they are looking for. Engage and speak to the customer. (B) could have just taken over the conversation and eliminated the awkward scenario. read more

I went to Antioch awhile ago and picked up some ammo to go to the range to do a session of range time with my family. The older gentleman behind the counter helped me out in a timely manner. After purchasing some ammo I saw a nice AR that I really liked, but I didn't have time to talk business or ask many questions; Fast forward a week later, and I called Antioch Armory and asked about the AR I was intrested in buying and low and behold to my surprise it was sold. Not a problem I'm willing to wait for the next shipment to come in no rush here, I then ask the sales person, "can you call me if you guys get the AR that I want to buy so we can do some business?". The sales person says, "we can't call you because we would have to call other people that are also intrested in that rifle sorry first come first serve". I've worked in sales before and was shocked because the whole purpose of the phone call is to get me the customer as well as other customers into the store to buy. A couple of years ago I purchased a firearm at Solar Tactical in Livermore which is an awesome shop by the way; I was in the same situation that I am in now. There was this firearm I wanted to buy which was out of stock and the sales associates at Solar Tactical said, "we can call you, but remember first come first serve." Long story short I got a call from Solar Tactical and they said that they had the firearm I wanted available for purchase, so I rushed over to Solar Tactical and was too late; it was funny because I met the gentlemen that bought the firearm I wanted, and he was a cool guy. Bottom line is that even though I didn't buy the firearm I origanlly wanted I bought something a little better with no regrets thanks to the help of the sales personal. Some business these days really don't care about business all that much, but that's okay there's always other competion out there that are willing to go above and beyond for your business. Another thing I would like to add is that Antioch Armory is in the bad part of Antioch its located in a real dangerous part of town close to the infamous sycamore area, thats probably why this place closes so early, but it's about three blocks away from the Antioch Police station if that makes anyone feel a little better. read more

The poor review is strictly representative of one individual I spoke with over the phone who (although friendly sounding) was not knowledgable about a very popular brand. I called looking to see if the store had any Kimber 1911 with match grade stainless steel barrels in stock to which the employee replied "all Kimbers come with stainless barrels" and proceeded to name a few models in stock. Unfortunately this is not true and employees providing misinformation to customers in this business is not acceptable. Needless to say I will not be purchasing a firearm here. read more

The new rifle I bought from these guys did not function properly from day 1, double feeding, not ejecting spent cartridges. The parts inside looked used. They said they would send it back to the manufacturer for repair. I got it back and it still had the same problem. I will not use these guys again and suggest you don't either, unless you want to gamble on purchasing an expensive paper weight instead of a gun. read more

It's an OK spot, Last time I went in there I had about 5 items ready to get ringed up as workers just sit behind the counter just talking. I waited 7 minutes (more employees just walking by). There is about 10 of them just doing nothing! HELLO!!! I just left everything up there and walked out. It was really upsetting its like they don't care. It really is a 50/50 toss up. I wish they had more in Stock but they do have quite a bit. Though id rather see more firearm customization parts filling their floor space rather than surplus military uniforms and other non firearm related crap. Can't find a selection of AR15 building parts but i can get a pair of old dress blues! Lol... But i digress. Most of the guys are very friendly and they are all at least moderately knowledgeable on their products. Some more than others. What gets me is that every time i go in the place seems dead but every time i call it's less than 50/50 chance someone will pick up the phone. Not sure what the deal is there.. These guys are good; most of them know what they are talking about and don't BS you. I didn't care much for the prior owner and did most of my business at AGE before they got shut down. I've gotten some really good deals here and they treat me fairly. I don't really feel like haggling on prices with them most of the time since they are usually the lowest in the area. This is a great gun shop with very helpful staff. Its a very laid back environment and their isn't a million people crowding around or making it impossible too check out the inventory, like a lot of other gun shops I've been too. So far I've purchased A Glock 19, Remington 870 Tactical, and most recently two Ruger Rifles and a Glock 26 here. This shop is very friendly, the reason for the missing star is as some others have stated their prices are a little higher than other shops but I don't feel its too outlandish tbh. Also it seems like they hook up their regulars with some discounts which help counter balance the prices of some things. All in all I like this gun shop alot, the staff is laid back and informative, their selection on guns and ammo has so far always had what I'm looking for, and most importantly for me when I come too Antioch Armory I feel like I'm treated with respect unlike Brentwood Rifle and Pistol who's staff yelled "White Power" while I was leaving. read more

I purchased a pistol a year ago from these guys and they were great (purchased this at retail). Apparently that is why they were great, they got the most money from me. A year later I went in to purchase a Ruger KP95 and asked them if they matched prices. The young "brat", who must be the owner's son, said we don't match especially if the item is on back order from the factory. I told him that Gun's Fishing and Other Stuff in Vacaville had it in stock and for 40 bucks less. He got defensive and said he would recommend that I go there and purchase it from them and that he would never sell it at that price. Bottom line, I went to Gun's Fishing and Other Stuff and have purchased 2 pistols since that incident. I will never do business with Antioch Armory ever again. read more

I bought my first gun in 40 years from the Armory and was very pleased with overall service. Sure they staff will ignore you a bit initially. However, I appreciate the unpressurized sales pitch, because I had no clue of the specific gun I wanted. Since the prices and gun details are displayed with the guns, I could do my assessment and initial selection before asking to handle specific guns. When you do have questions the staff know their staff and will defer to another staff member rather then BS you. They are also funny and entertaining in conversation. read more

Don't know why all the poor reviews, but I love these guys. I've bought a handgun, done two FFL transfers on ar-15 lower receivers, and bought tons of misc. crap from them and have NEVER had a problem. Except my "Tito" always complains I didn't bring him lunch (Inside joke, im not related to them lol). I am a customer for life, and will continue to comeback. The selection may not look that vast, but don't be fooled, they can order or source pretty much anything you want. Pricing is decent and fairly competitive for the area, wish they had more ammo, but that's not their fault, that's a product of our times. read more

Pros: Lots of parking Great choices for ammo They have just about everything you would need (guns, ammo, accessories, safes, fishing supplies, surplus) I know it's not relevant but it has a great view They actually answer the phones when you call unlike other stores Cons: Prices could be better Customer service was average, could be improved Their rifle shelfs were half empty. They should be filled to the brim with choices for customers Sales tax is higher then other cities in the area Antioch is 9% while surrounding areas is 8.5% so you spend a little more cash (not the stores fault) And the worst thing is you have to drive through shady neighborhoods to get to the place. But once your there the neighborhood is fine. And highway 4 to get here is a nightmare. Overall this is a good store. Way better then other choices in the area read more
