I came here in.February looking for either a Glock 17, 19, or a Beretta Px Storm. I was also contemplating getting an XD. I chose a G17. Ever since visiting my first time, which included a firearm purchase, I have returned as I proudly support my local gun store. If you're in the Antioch or Pittsburg area you owe it to yourself spend money here. If you need a fishing license you can also get one here. They have a healthy selection of handguns, and a healthy selection of long guns and shotguns. They sometimes have good deals on range ammo, see if that is avaliable as well! I came in with an aftermarket slide and I was having trouble with my firing pin. The Glock Smith that was working was very knowledgeable and it ended up being a $5 fix. Other store were quoting me at $100+. These guys are the real deal. I will only take my Glock's here from now on. read more

Wnet in and bought my new XD 45 compact. They didnt have one so they ordered it and in three days done. I was treated right and promptly. All these people who say how they were not helped and all of that just think they are the only people in existance. I sell cars and I understand how people get anxious. The guys who work there were probably just busy ordering guns FOR PEOPLE WHO ALREADY BOUGHT AND NOT JUST SHOPPING. The location is actually quite a way from Sycamore but is close to Antioch PD. Staff is helpful and informative but prices are high & restocking fee is BULLSHIT. Gun moved from 1 counter to another and you think that's worth 20%?!?! Full of it & I'll find someone not so eager to steal from me. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if it allowed me to. The costumer service is beyond awful, they get annoyed if you ask for help, and they even hang up on you over the phone. I have heard many horrible stories about this place from many friends and co-workers but since I live in the area I decided to check it out for myself. My wife wanted something small for herself so I decided we'll look at possibly purchasing a .380 so she can feel comfortable handling it. We get to the shop and there were literally 8 people "working" behind the desk. Nearly 10 minutes go by before I was even acknowledged. The asian guy came over and I asked him a few questions about the. 380 since I know nearly nothing about handguns and he looked at me as if I had spit in his cereal bowl. The questions I had asked were simply "is this a decent handgun, is it reliable, etc etc." I got no answers and he then proceeded to tell me that he was busy so to come back another time after I did my own research. Really? We left and went and purchased a SR9 from Bass Pro shop and I couldn't have been happier to give them my business. I had called the Armory on the way to the range one day and asked if they had a box of Winchester 9mm rounds and the man answered, "why wouldn't we?" And hung up! Screw this place, I highly recommend going elsewhere if you want to be treated right and if you have any questions about handguns or ammo. read more

The last time I used this place was to have an M1Garand transferred from another FFL dealer to Antioch Armory. I found a D-Day commemorative & had made the purchase on GunBroker.com. All that clown should have been interested in was if I had a clean DROS. He also tries to bang you with outrageous transfer costs of 100.00 per thousand. You have to watch the owner (Alan), he's a shady creep. I waited six months for a Kimber 10mm he said would be no problem ordering one up for me. Well, six months came so I called him back. Nope he said, no such gun ordered. The gun that I was waiting for to come in was sold to one of his cronies that hangs around the store. FU Alan. The only guy that I would do business with was Brian. He was a pretty squared away guy. I ended up finding my Kimber on GunBroker cheaper anyways. I'm so glad Brentwood Armory opened. They have better prices, inventory and a sales staff that's eager to help answer any questions you may have on guns. read more

My father use to take me to this place when I was younger (15/16) he has bought a few firearms from them. After I got out of the military and started working on my own collection as I am now 22 I started to go in there but felt belittled by every single employee/volunteered behind the counter and never feel like my business is appreciated. needless to say I will not be shopping here any more. read more

Staff is helpful and have always been friendly. I have done a lot of business here and will continue to do so. During the hype they did not raise prices and even were able to get in a special order I requested and charged what I was quoted almost a year before. There selection can be a bit limited at times but they are willing to go out of there way to get requested items in with no demand you put any money down. read more

I thought I'd stop in to Antioch Armory today to maybe buy a hat or a t-shirt. The last time I was in there I bought a really nice Second Amendment hat and that's why I went back there today hoping they would have t-shirts and hats supporting the Second Amendment. They had a leather jacket hanging up on the rack that I was interested in and I wanted to make an offer on it. I waited for a good 15 minutes, which wasn't a problem. While I was there I was looking at several firearms and I thought that maybe I might purchase one from Antioch Armory. Well, the gentleman that had the leather coat did not accept my offer, so, I thanked him and proceeded to walk out the door. As I was walking out, a man from the behind the counter, I don't know if he was the owner or what, yelled at me what about that hat? I responded, "What hat ?! " he said the Hat on your head. I told him " that's my hat and I walked in with it!" . The man basically accused me of stealing a hat out of his store in front of all his customers. I will not tolerate that kind of treatment and I will never, ever, go back to Antioch Armory again. My suggestion to all of you out there? Stay away from Antioch Armory. Give your money to a shop that has real customer service not a rude one..... like Antioch arms read more

They are all very nice people, they also allowed him to put his CCW Petition for the City of Antioch, so if you live in Antioch go sign it before August 2012. I called ahead so I did not have to make a drive to Antioch, Ca. I asked them if they had ".224 bullets for reloading". The person on the phone said that they had some. I drove 30 miles out of my way to get to Antioch, When I arrived there I asked again where the .224 bullets where. The person behind the counter told me " What we have to over there in those white boxes". So I looked for the bullets.And of course no .224 bullets. I looked for 5 minutes to make sure their were no .224 bullets. I walked back up to the counter to make sure I heard them correctly, All of the sudden everyone was to busy to even notice that I was at the counter. So that is the last Time I will drive to Antioch for any gun products. I will spend the extra money at Canyon Sports. I found the bullets at J and R in Livermore, Ca. read more

I am stunned about all the negative reviews, because my experience was great. I wanted to buy my first gun ever and researched online and settled on a revolver. I'd seen the online prices and MSRP's. So, with this knowledge I went to the store in Pleasant Hill and gun was sold at MSRP. Then I went to the Antioch Armory and was sold at $125 less than MSRP. Went back to PH store, to see if they could match, but store would not budge, so I told them sorry. My experience with Antioch Armory was great, the guys explained the purchase process and gave me upfront price, including taxes. All looked great. They also showed me some other guns and explained a few things (remember, I knew nothing about guns). Had to pay down small payment because it had to be special ordered from manufacturer because they didn't have it in stock. Then, they called me a few days later (maybe 4-5 days or so) when gun arrived, and had me check it out and fill out all the required paperwork, and told me to come back in 10 days to finalize the sale. When I came back to pickup, it was quite busy (maybe 5 people in front or so), so I let them know I was there and told them I would look around for some things I needed. I browsed the isles and inventory for all kinds of things, like gun cleaner, etc.., but I didn't know exactly what I needed. After about 10 minutes, they called me after they helped some other customers before me. I paid the remainder of the gun, and they handed me the gun and asked if I needed help figuring it out. I said no, and they said it was ok to keep it cased and walk around, or they could hold it for me while looking at other stuff. They asked me if I needed help with anything else, and I told them I would like some help with selecting ammo. An older guy came over immediately and showed me all kind of options, and explained a lot of things about different weights, bullet types, for home or for range. I did some research myself, but it was nice to hear someone explaining everything. I settled on a variety of rounds for me to try, and different grains. We talked about gun ranges in the area and some other things, it was nice chit-chatting - versus buying online. Their ammo selection was limited, but all quality rounds after looking them up online. they basically told me, we only really sell what we shoot ourselves and stand behind it. Some of it was cheap, some of it more expensive, especially for home defense (Hornady XTP, etc...). Then, I told him I needed some help selecting cleaning stuff and other things I might need. He and I went through the isles, and I got what I needed, no more, no less. No sales pressure or anything like that. He showed me some things I couldn't easily find online, like a 357-specific cleaning kit, but left it up to me, just recommended what he used all those years. I spend about $300 in ammunition (few hundred rounds of different types) and about $50 in accessories, like cleaning kit, canvas pouch for putting stuff in, cleaner, oil (he recommended CLP, but I bought the hoppe's as well to compare), etc... I held off on the ear muffs and range bag (found their selection didn't fit my needs, so I bought it online). When I got home, I compared everything I bought to Amazon prices. On the amount of $350 I overpaid by $15 (if you include online shipping prices for ammunition), probably less if you include the yearly amazon prime membership. Many of the items I bought were equal to or cheaper than amazon prices. I had a few rounds that were clearly more expensive and brought me over, but to me it's not worth buying online and saving a few dollars, compared to the service I got from this store, and some of the advice on gun cleaning, etc. I know, most of it you can find online, but I like this store a lot and like the employers a lot. Everyone in the store acts professional, and seems nice and honest. We then also talked about reloading, and the older guy started smiling - this was obviously a sacred subject, and he showed me all kinds of things and advice on powders, brass, reloading data, etc. I'll be definitely going back there many times, and like supporting this small business. Without these, all we're left with is internet - I see small business go out of business all the time and I hope this one will be there to stay. Just understand that if it's busy, they have less time, but be patient and they will help you and make time for you, or come back at less busy times. read more

First of all I am an avid gun collector and have bought a pistol, 2 shot guns and a rifle in the past year alone. (Only bought the rifle from them). I would consider myself to be a valuable customer if I were in their shoes. Apparently they don't feel the same. I had my son call in to see if they had a clip for his rifle and the man on that answered the phone was sooooo rude and short saying "it's called a magazine not a clip". And the. Hung up on him!!! So I'm thinking maybe the guy is having a bad day and we ended up going down there. I intentionally asked for a clip (cuz I can call it what ever I want to I'm the customer). And I am told that it is a magazine-- rudely. Whatever , I go to the counter and I'm standing right infront of the cash register for several minutes waiting A customer walks in and the guy behind the counter helps them first while totally ignoring me. Everyone there seemed to have a rude and unwelcoming tone. Seems to me that they do not understand the first thing about customer service and apparently don't care to earn your business. I have dealt with many gun shops and have never seen a place like that. I will never go there again. They lost a lot of money letting me go. But then again they probably don't care. read more
