Came here for a (planned) wed dinner. And well, supposedly started at 5:30 but it really didn't start until 5:45ish..like okay I get it little behind, fine whatever. 1. A different wedding guest had to get someone for drinks because they didn't ask nor seat us. We were pointed to the direction from the door and that was it. 2. I work in the restaurant industry, I know how it works. And I was taught in the business that wedding or any planned events always get FIRST priority! (They paid for that spot at the exact timeframe that was chosen on the invites same with open bar.) 3. Host/hostess paid for open bar but then never once did the 2 servers asked or given chances of having refills for other guests. 4. Who the heck in the right mind serves piss warm water in a scotch glass? And drinks were served in collins glasses. 5. My boyfriend got pasta with just butter but he found other pieces of food, tomato skin and other things he was hungry, long drive home so he didn't say anything. Nor would it matter considering it took me a very long time to get a refill on my first glass of water..I ended up drinking my bf's water after awhile but it was very piss warm. 1 of bride's friend went and tracked down the waiter because she saw that my glass was only one that wasn't refilled. Then they came back with clean forks, I was the only one who didn't get new one, thankfully I just wiped mine off and kept it. 6. A bunch of appetizers came out but no table space to put them down! And didn't start taking orders until after everyone almost done eating the apps. Dinner orders should have been taken first before everything else. 7. Took like 2 hours for even meals be served to us! What a reception dinner was supposed to be which is dinner served right after first dance which not more than half an hour from guests enters the room. 8. We didn't get to stay for cake, work in morning and long ride home. It was almost 8:00 when we got our meals and not everyone got their meals either, shrimp meals took the longest. 9. Never have I ever seen a Groom get their meal before the bride. Usually the bride and groom gets served together than everyone else does after. I don't get this place, very backwards and lousy service. 10. Dinner portions were very small for the very large amount of time waiting on food. 11. Were there only 2 servers on for the entire evening including the dinner party?? I have labelled off about 10 reasons to not pick this spot for any type of party! We went to the restaurant on Friday night. The place was jampacked. I found the service to be good. I found the food to be good. We had fresh homemade pasta which was really nice. I would've given it four stars my wife would give it three stars so we would've given it 3 1/2 stars. I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try again. read more

Wow! What a find. After driving through revere and winthrop looking for a decent Italian place, we saw this. Driving towards the ocean, we noticed the wine bottles and cloth covered tables as well as the well-dressed customers. I figured it was worth a look. Boy, was that a good move! I liked the place as soon as we walked in. The host was very polite and accommodating. (Even when we asked for a specific table, against the wall) The food and wine list were everything we look for in an upscale restaurant. But it was the staff that really won me over. They are so nice and professional. A+ The surprise at the end was when the bill came. This place is very affordable. They could charge at least 40% more for the dinner we got. We were recommended this restaurant as we were in Winthrop and looking for a quick bite to eat. It is a small restaurant and the food was delicious. A very homey atmosphere and the waitress Tatiana was excellent. We ordered cheese ravioli, Carbonara with Prosciutto and Onion and Fettuccine with Shrimp and Spinach. I had the Carbonara, the pasta was home made, and it was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals very much. The bread and dipping oil were also very good. I have been to the Antique Table around 5 times and each time it was a pleasant experience! I order the filet mignon and get whichever drink I feel like. It's always delicious. The interior of the place is cute as well and I enjoy the general atmosphere. It is a nice place to enjoy a night with your significant other. It's also a great time with friends! Went to antique table because café Rossetti's was crowded. When I walked in I loved the decor and the fact that it had space between the tables. We were served focaccia bread and dipping oil both were delicious. We tried the meatball appetizer. The meatballs were huge and they came with a dollop of ricotta cheese on them. They were good. The sauce was a little on the bland side. I tried the cheese pizza and it was like eating pizza made on pita bread. I was not thrilled with it it was nothing to write home about. One person I was with had the chicken Parmesan. She said it was good but not great. The other person I was with had pasta with Bolognese sauce and he enjoyed that. Overall I would say antique table is fair but I wouldn't rush to go back. I'd rather wait 45 minutes at Cafe Rossetti for a fantastic meal read more

If you would like a matzah with cold tomato and some congealed cheese with no spices this is your place for pizza!! Worst pizza ever!! And what Italian restaurant serves a "Caesar salad" with kraft parm cheese from the shaker and not shaved??!! Worst waiter ever...couldn't get a glass of water or hots had to ask the bus person!! How long does it take to pour a glass of wine...apparently more than 30 minutes!! First time there. Will never return. It's clear to me that Mr Soto doesn't know the meaning of hospitality so I'll define it for him. It's the relationship between the guest & host which includes reception & entertainment. Last Friday night Mr Soto provided neither to my party of 3. Incredibly he refused to seat us even though we had 5:30 reservations because we were a few minutes late! Mind you the restaurant was basically empty with only 3 tables that had been seated. He whined that he was booked solid for the evening showing me his book. Seriously? What is wrong with this man? If his goal is to have seatings then he should let you know when the reservation is made but that was not the case. Then when he told my friend who was there first that we would have to sit at the bar he proceeded to give away those seats as well!!! I've been to thousands of restaurants in my life never had such a horrible & embarrassing experience since I was the one who recommended this place. Well I can tell you that I wouldn't ever do that again seeing how he preferred to have us walk out the door instead of welcoming us like any good business owner would. In speaking with other people who have been there already they also said that he was lacking in the way you should be acknowledged when you are standing up at the bar. On 4 occasions it took the bartender at least 9-14 minutes to acknowledge them. So be forewarned diners don't go to Antique Table if you want to be served. There are so many other places that not only serve great food but make you feel comfortable and appreciate your support. I can only think of 2 words about this establishment- Epic Failure!!! read more

My husband and I went there again last night and the service was fantastic! We also kept remarking that the ambiance reminded us so much of the restaurants in Italy. Truly the owners have taken great pains to make it authentic in that regard. On top of that, the food is DELICIOUS! The presentation and quality of the fresh ingredients are superb. This restaurant is one of our favorites in Winthrop. I have tried Antique Table twice and had great food and service both times. The shrimp puttanesca was delicious- great blend of flavors olives and capers and tomato and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Homemade pasta did not disappoint. I feel like they give a normal portion of food not super sized like fake Italian chain restaurants. The people who are complaining about portion size are way off base. Orecchiette with sausage ragu was AWESOME. Two points of constructive criticism. The bread would be better if it were served warm. Not saying it has to be piping hot but one time I got the bread and it was cold like refrigerator cold. Second, the di mare dish was good but the calamari were very tough. Thinking maybe undercooked a bit because they definitely don't overcook their seafood or anything else here. Neither of these issues would prevent me from going back. Horrible customer service; waiter brings two-thirds​ of a glass of beer and when asked, simply responds that it, with attitude. Right or wrong, there is ​an appropriate way to respond and the banter that followed was uncalled for. Food takes over forty-five​ minutes; ​the ​waiter never comes back to check. When asked about food, the ​waiter walks back to the kitchen and immidiatly walks back out with the food. Food was crisp on the top as if had sat under a heat lamp for an extended period. The waiter never checks back and after delivery of the food had to request more water; obviously,​ no other beverages were offered. The fire​ alarm went off for about two minutes, no explanation; just very loud alarm/fire department. Overall food objectively was only alright, not great,​ not bad. Have been to other locations and typically very good, disappointing. Would like my night back, don't waste​ your time. read more

Winthrop is out of the way from most places, but its beautiful in the nice weather, so definitely worth the trip. nicely decorated, servers were very nice, sociable and friendly, including Stephen, the bartender. thought it was going to be more of a "locals" feel type of place, but it wasn't. food was very good, prices were reasonable. we had grand marnier shrimp, veal marsala w/homemade pasta, fruitti di mare and the bread pudding. everything was VERY good. will definitely be back. read more

Antique Table was recommended by a fellow foodie. This place was awesome! From making the reservation to the staff. Lisa was our waitress and was fabulous! Very attentive and knowledgeable. My teen aged daughter NEVER finishes all her plate, but did tonight as we all did! We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, which I normally don't eat because it either tastes fishy or is rubbery. I tried it here and it was delicious. Nothing like I've had before. The coating was crisp but the calamari was tender and so fresh. Regular sized salads are huge as well as the portions of food. The food was excellent. A wide variety of Italian food on the menu to choose from. Our appetizers were fantastic and the main courses even better. Large enough size portions. Wait staff were great. My brother and his wife really like the food here and they are both Italian and eat at the best restaurants. Today I got take-out. I got the meatball appetizer. Since my mother and my wife make great meatballs, I never get them outside. I'm very pleased I broke that trend. The Antique Table made a very creative and generous appetizer for 8.50. Three melt in your mouth big meatballs made with very flavorful but not over powering spices. The dish was covered with a fresh and full flavored tomato sauce. What made it extra special was a scoop of creamy ricotta cheese. The pleasant surprise was it was lightly sweetened! It went perfect against the spices, especially if you added the aged parmigiana cheese sprinkled with hot red pepper flakes provided on the side. Careful. That's hot. It came with toasted garlic bread in the bowl and three slices of mushroom onion focaccia on the side with a flavored EVO dipping sauce. This was a well designed and executed app. Now I am eager to try a main course next time. read more

I loved this place when they first opened. My son and I went twice and the service was fantastic, the atmosphere beautiful, and the food perfection. However, I was sorely disappointed when I went back last week with my mother who was visiting from NC and some friends. The service was the worst I've ever experienced. I'm surprised we weren't made to set the table and cook the food ourselves. We had reservations, and one of our party showed up early. She was shown to the table and given a glass of Chardonnay. Three of us showed up a few minutes later to complete the table, and no one approached us to say hello or tell us their name, tell us about the specials, and take our drink order. We waited 40 minutes with no one approaching our table. We made eyes at various staff members, but they looked away and ignored us. Finally, I flagged down a waitress and asked if she was ours. She said no and said she'd find ours. Still no one came. When I finally hollered at a woman walking by, she came to our table and took our orders, but was not even friendly. I decided to not make a scene that night, and tipped a low 15% (I usually tip 20-30%), and figured I'd call the manager the next day. Guess what? You can call all three branches and find out there is no manager at any of them. They all say the manager isn't there and when you ask when they will get there, they say they don't know. I emailed the contact people on the website and never heard back. When I called the Winthrop branch a week later, the head waitress said they got the complaint and said they did nothing wrong. She said they were busy that night (true, but we were some of the first ones there, and it's a small place), and then said, "What do you want from us? Are you expecting something? What do you want me to say?" I said I thought you'd want to know, that's all. She didn't care. She asked if I'd come back and I said probably not. They need better customer service, a manager, and better servers. read more

As usual, my wife and I are always on the lookout for a good new restaurant to try out, Italian or otherwise. We had heard about Antique Table on the Phantom Gourmet a few days ago and since we're on vacation, we decided to drop in to the Winthrop location. I just have to say that this is our new Italian GO to restaurant. The food is really amazing as others have attested to. DO Believe the hype. We started with the wrapped Asparagus appetizer which was although simple, was the finest app I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Asparagus, wrapped in proscuitto with delicious melted mozzarella and fontina cheese, artichoke hearts and toast points. I had to order the Pork chop for dinner and my wife had the Bolognese and Meatballs. The chop was hands down the best I've had anywhere at any of the many Italian restaurants we've been too. Cooked perfectly, tender, and stuffed with Fig, bacon, and gouda cheese filling. with mushrooms in a Marsala glaze. Unreal! Same with the Bolognese, the best anywhere. We also ordered a nice bottle of Chianti from their very nice reasonable wine list. The prices are insanely cheap for this type of home made food. You will wait for your order as the menu warns, as the food is being made fresh for each order, no frozen, pre-made anything here. The fresh homemade bread and dipping oil was the best of anywhere we've been. I mean it, just delicious. The service was top notch and the staff very attentive, and courteous and quick. Almost forgot, the Italian coffee and Crème Broul'ee were also incredible. We can't wait to return to try other dishes. As I stated, this place is the real deal. very worth the trip for people who don't live close by, and for those that do, get the hell over there right now!!! read more

One of the best restaurants on the North Shore. No kidding. In an unassuming strip mall in Winthrop, you'd drive by it a thousand times and never see it...and never know what you're missing! I keep bringing new friends in because I want to spread the word. The bread and oil alone they serve when you sit down will blow you away. Then the super talented and friendly bartender (Steven) will make the most fabulous, perfectly chilled cocktail. Then ANYTHING you order, from creative, healthy apps to yummy pasta to perfectly cooked fresh fish, will knock your socks off! I like their Espresso Martini for desert--the best I've had--and always leave with happy tastebuds and a full, but not overly full, tummy. So if want quality over quantity, Antique Table in Winthrop (and now Salem) is a place you will love too. As a bonus, you'll also love their classy, warm, and well-dressed manager, Oscar. This is a wonderful Italian restaurant! My husband & I have been here several times, often with friends, in the past six months and we have never been disappointed. This past Saturday night, we were seated at a window table with light jazz providing a soothing, romantic background, as did the interesting, rustic decor. The wait staff were, as always, very friendly & attentive. The restaurant has a decent wine list & we ordered some very good red wine. My husband was born & raised in Boston's North End, loves good Italian food & can't say enough about the quality of the food at Antique Table. This time, we had the arancini stuffed with lobster, the spinach salad, the sausage & broccolini orecchiette, & the shrimp scampi. Everything was luscious! Pizza bread & oil with pesto comes with the meal & was great, as were the cappuccinos with which we ended the meal. The restaurant has a nice little bar in the front & a large back room for functions or to handle overflow diners. There is ample parking in the public lot across the street. Definitely give this place a try. You won't regret it! We hope to be back soon! read more
