Wow...real live, multi-generational family businesses do exist! Robert Antone and his family business have been around since 1961. He knows appliances in and out. I was so happy to find him on yelp. He arrive promptly, got straight to work and boy does he know his stuff! His charges were more than reasonable. His trick and tool kit are fully stocked and everything he needs is available to him thanks to his being so fully prepared for any roadblock! Our dishwasher is finally in working order after one week of dishpan hands. So much for trying to self diagnose the problem. Talk about a waste of time! I called to see if I could get a service man to fix my washer dryer, and when I didn't know anything about the make or model aside from being a Kenmore the women on the phone told me to schedule a service call with Sears. Really rude and just the quote starts at $95. FWIW, a Sears quote is $68. Anyway, it turns out it wasn't even a Kenmore, not that I think it should have mattered. I was just looking for someone to provide a quote so I could try to take advantage of an Amex Warranty, and I think it is pretty frustrating when it is so difficult to give someone money. read more

My dishwasher wasn't working - water not going into the machine. After self-diagnosing a faulty water inlet valve (based on what I googled) I called Antone's to see if they can come fix it. Thankfully, they're still on the job during the pandemic and I need my dishwasher to work! When their repairman called me, I told him what the issue was. Before he scheduled a service visit, he had me check another shut-off valve on the inside of the machine. Apparently things can get stuck on that valve, which prevents the machine from overfilling with water. I found a little piece of food under the valve which was causing the water to shut off. Problem solved! I really appreciate their repairman guiding me through this first. It saved me lots of money and time. The next time I need an appliance repair, I'm calling Antone's first! read more

Our 10 year old whirlpool washing machine stopped working and was leaking water . I was sure I needed a new one. I called Antone's because they had installed and serviced it in the past (as well as our dryer) and got a call back from Robert, the owner. He came out today and per my request brought a replacement machine with him Just in case. I was fully prepared to spring for a new machine but he diagnosed the problem ( a sock had gotten into the water pump) and replaced the pump (a part that cost less than 40$) and fixed the machine in less than an hour for a total cost of about $150. Because Antone was booked out until late next week, this nice man spent about 15-20 min on the phone walking me through checking the washer's error codes, diagnosed what he thought was the problem and advised me how to fix it. I just called and was trying to get a quote to repair my Maytage oven and the rudest lady answers the phone. I gave her my model number and she told me that the service call would be $95 not including parts, offers me an appointment and I said great my landlord has a cap of around $200. Then she tells me I should call someone else and hangs up on me. WTF! I call her back to tell her i want the appointment but she doesn't pickup. So I left a message saying she's rude and has left me no choice but to leave a a bad yelp review! WHAT BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Appt was easy to make. The technician, Robert, came within the allotted window. Was very pleasant and professional. He quickly fixed the problem, which involved climbing through an impenetrable jungle of growth at the back of the house, a feat that anybody over eight years old would have found challenging. Just got our old Kenmore Elite dryer fixed by Robert of Antone's Appliance. He was great! He thoroughly explained and demonstrated what was wrong with our machine, the repairing process and pricing. He price matched the price for the part needed to be replaced, his distributor's price was higher but he was willing to match the Sear's online price and even upgraded our vent tubing. Robert has been our Maytag repairman for over 30 years. The washer & dryer machines are probably at least 40 years old! Of course because they are Maytags, we do not see Robert that often unless we misuse (overload) the washer or the dryer needs a new belt.. Robert's style is matter-of-fact and he completely knows what to do! He is always prepared for any fix and leaves the area spic and span in spite of what we discover lurking inside, under and behind our appliances. Robert is the owner of Antone's, and I can't say ANYTHING bad about my experience with him. He's honest, fair, and perhaps, a bit chatty. When we called him, he returned our call right away. He had a bit of trouble diagnosing the problem (it was a wierd, quirky problem that made our washer seem possessed) at first and did a repair that failed to fix it. After seeing that the repair didn't fix the problem, he refused to collect any money even for the service call. Most places charge a separate rate just for the service call alone. He came back after ordering another part to fix it a second time. This time, it worked. As I was writing out a check to him, he asked me if my warranty was still in effect. He waited patiently while I tried to track down the date/place I bought it. It took me a good half hour to find the info. As it turns out, it was the last month the warranty was valid! He saved us over $200 when he didn't have to. Love this guy...totally recommend him. read more

Just had this guy over to fix our dryer which we diagnosed as a solenoid problem. We said as much and he showed up w the parts in his pocket. Vacuumed and cleaned up the dryer and fixed it quickly. We mentioned a couple problems w our washer and he had the parts on his truck to fix our pesky issues. $177 and our 19 year old w/d are tuned up and new. We didn't want to spend 1300$ on a new rig. Our 1974 dishwasher, which he had worked on back in the 90s, finally developed a leak and could not be fixed anymore. Robert found the problem and installed a new dishwasher 2 days later . We were having trouble finding someone that actually knew how to repair our Maytag Neptune washer. Maytag provided the names of several companies that allegedly repair them but the Yelp ratings were less than encouraging. We finally found Antone's. I called and got an appointment. When Robert (the owner)showed up he checked everything out and explained how the electronics worked on our machine and why it was stopping at the first rinse cycle. At first it appeared we would need some sort of valve that costs around $80 but Robert wasn't comfortable proceeding without a little more "digging" into the issue. As it turns out, the real problem was the water supply lines to the washer. It seems Maytag washers "sense" the amount of water sent to the machine at the start of the rinse cycle and if there's insufficient water the machine stops and must be restarted. Robert flushed the supply lines and cleaned the little filters at each end of them - and did NOT try to sell us replacement ones - Bingo, the machine works like new. If you want to avoid ripoff artists and actually get the repair done that you need, call Antone's, you won't be sorry. Oh, yes, there was a service charge for his time and expertise but it was reasonable and well worth it. read more

Very impressed. My Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer (16 yo) were acting up but not quite unusable. Dryer was screeching on start up, washer initial fill overflowed the softener dispenser. So I made an appointment a few days out. Robert called me in advance because he was running early! He fixed both problems in a bit over an hour, had the small parts needed in his truck and explained it all to me. My sweetheart and I were looking for a new washer/dryer. Antone's had come out to look at our old one, and pronounced it dead. They gave us a quote for a new set, and we thought about it for a while. We decided to go to Sears outlet, because they purportedly had better prices. Long story short, our Sears experience had been a disaster!! I had been feeling a pang of guilt for not going to Antone's in the first place, being a small business owner, wanting to support my own kind, in my own community. When we finally had our money refunded for the bunk machine that we sent back, I called Antone's. They are amazing! I got a much nicer and larger NEW machine, didn't have to pay extra for a warrantee, and the service was fantastic! Father and son came out together and arrived at 3:38, when the window of arrival was 3:30 to 5:00. All in all, we saved money, got an excellent machine with a warrantee that they carry with no extra cost, and we got to feel good about keeping our money in our neighborhood! Hooray! read more

My washing machine was dumping out all the water from the rinse cycle onto the laundry room floor - not ideal. I called Antone's based on other Yelp reviews, and Robert Antone was fantastic. They said the charge would be $95 for the service call plus the cost of parts. He came out on a Monday, exactly on time, and spent about 30 minutes investigating and getting my machine to replicate it's water-dumping trick before determining that I needed a new drainage hose. Which he doesn't carry on his truck. He ordered the part, which would take a few days to come in, and agreed to come back on Thursday between 5:30-6:30pm - after hours to accommodate my work schedule - to fix the machine. He came back on Thursday at 6:15pm and spent until 7:30pm replacing the part, as well as leveling my machine because it's on an uneven concrete basement floor. I figured that for two trips and nearly two hours total worth of labor, I'd be looking at a chunk of change. Nope. He charged me $110 total, including $95 for one service call and $15 for the part. Robert came to my house recently to fix my broken dryer. He has been out to fix the dryer or washer on the few occasions we've had problems, and I get teh same consistent, honest service every time. This particular time, (as on other visits) he was professional, showed up in a timely manner, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it on the spot. He was able to pull up the cost of the part, which he had in his truck, and told me before he started what it would cost. He's trustworthy and does good work. When we called he couldn't get to us for about a week, but after contemplating my other options, I decided not to risk it. We waited the week for him to come out and I'm sure glad I did. When our one-year old washer's warrantee was up, it started to self-destruct and it cannibalized my favorite purpleskirt, I called quite a few repair shops to compare pricing. I love Robert. First of all I called a higher rated yelp appliance repair place and they had over a two week wait period so then I contacted an authorized Lowe's service since I bought my dryer from Lowe's who could come out the next day but they kept confusing my dryer for some other appliance and kept pressuring me to commit. This concerned me so I declined using them besides they had low yelp reviews. Then I called Antone's and got an appointment in two days, great! Robert was very nice and thorough. My warranty ran out less than a month ago but because Robert was an authorized Whirlpool dealer, he was able to cover the costs. I am flabbergasted at his honesty and excellent service. I'm standing there with my checkbook and he's telling me it's covered by my warranty. I still don't comprehend and he has to talk slowly to me that there was no charge.
