My partner and I have been living in this house for more than one year and from day one it was obvious that there was something wrong with our dryer. It would take several hours to dry a load. I finally lost it when a load of towels took ALL DAY to dry and even then, they came out with a humid smell. So, off to Yelp I go looking for a repair person. And, yea! I found Antone's Appliance. Robert was the gentleman who came to our home. He showed up at 11:30 within the specified time between 10:00 - 12:00. He was very professional, courteous and what I appreciated most: He was very non-judgmental about all the crap we have stored in our laundry room. He moved dog toys and food, hair balls, lint, old boxes and rugs that should have been thrown away long ago without hesitation and got right down to the job of fixing our dryer. It turned out to be that we had a very small hole in our wall that did not allow for enough air flow. He fixed it (made a bigger hole) and replaced the silver shiny hose that goes from the dryer to the filter outside quickly and efficiently. He was in and out in one hour and explained everything thoroughly. He never tried to over sell me. I really liked the guy. Thank you, Robert! I was given the number for Robert of Antone's Appliance from a repair guy who couldn't fix our washer. We found out from Robert that when we bought the washer from Airport Appliance, it was no longer being sold as that model broke down easily. When we bought it from Airport Appliance we were thrilled because we got the washer and dryer at such a low price. Now I know why. It was really disappointing to find out that the washer we had for only three years was not fixable, but Robert was able to order us a washer that fit our budget. He was such a pleasant person. The pros: * When I phoned and left a message on the voicemail, I got a call back that day. * When Robert was on his way to the house, he called on his cell phone to let me know his ETA. * Robert thoroughly checked out the washer, brought his own kit and manual and systematically went through everything. * He explained to me in great detail (which was great!) what was wrong with the washer, why it broke down, and why it is not fixable. * He reviewed with me the cost of washers and pulled up ads for washers from competitive stores. He offered me a washer that was lower than the other stores, including Airport Appliance, whom I had called to inquire about the cost of this new washer. * He offered to deduct the cost of his visit from the cost of washer and installation. * He said when the washer would arrive and we planned which day he would come to install it. He checked when I was available and when it would be most convenient for me. * He arrived when he said he would and took time and care to put in the washer and arrange everything back where it was. * He even checked out our sink that was leaking water! He stayed about an hour after he had installed the washer to examine under the sink with a flashlight and methodically conducting tests to find where the water leakage was coming from. Who does that? * When I called him on his cell phone later because I had problems with washer, he brainstormed with me what went wrong and found that I had accidentally pushed the "lock door" button and didn't know this feature existed. Antone's provided excellent service and they are VERY knowledgeable about appliances. I called them when sparks came out of a control knob on my KitchenAid electric stove. Another burner was also on the fritz; it would turn off and on at odd intervals. Robert fixed my stove in a 1 hour appointment. He disassembled the control panel, tightened some parts, inspected connections and tested the burners thoroughly. It turns out the burner I thought was broken is a unique design which is supposed to behave that way. Robert demonstrated the mechanics of this burner (different from the others on my stove) and explained the function. This was very helpful/informative! Also, he kindly disassembled the oven door so I could clean soup that had spilled between the glass panels 2 years earlier. I didn't need any new parts, but if I did, Robert had an iPhone app where he could look up the part and give me the price on the spot. It cost $125 for an hour of service and a 90 day guarantee. I am VERY happy. Don't be put off by the person answering the phone. I believe this is the father of the owner and he can be a little gruff. Make sure to speak slowly and clearly. After making my first appointment, this person cancelled it (claiming he was double-booked.) Unfortunately Robert showed up at my home at the allotted time anyway. I was at work so we were both a little frustrated. I later rescheduled the appointment. It was well worth this small hassle to find a smart honest repair person. Antone's Appliance wasn't my first choice when our washing machine broke. I first called the place we bought it, then one other place when they couldn't do the service. The second place couldn't either, but recommended Antone's. They weren't able to come for a few days, but by the time I reached them, I was happy to wait for someone who could just come. Our 25-year old Maytag's occasionally require some minor care to keep them in tip-top shape. Antone's Appliance is who we always call. They really know the machines and quickly fix the problem. Just today it took 2 seconds of listening to my dryer to know the problem and exactly what part we needed. The part was already in Robert's truck. He appeared to feel a little guilty about having to charge the minimum labor amount ($95) for something he was able to fix so quickly. He cleaned out some gunk inside the dryer and checked out the vent before leaving. Excellent expert-level knowledge and really rapid response. 2nd generation family business so extremely knowledgeable owners. I had a Maytag Neptune washer that had metal-on-metal sound when drum turned. Multiple other repair services offerred to come to look at it for from $65-100, just to see if they could repair it. When I spoke w/ Antone's they said it would be a $900 repair, not worth it, just continue to use it until it no longer functioned. Maytag Repair Service quoted the same cost to fix, but they would give me a $400 1 year maintenance agreement to do it. Decided to take Antone's advice.
