When Antonio's first opened their doors, I was excited to see a pizzeria/bar open up right downstairs, considering there aren't that many options available at night in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, on days that I am too tired to go downstairs and pick up my food, the delivery minimum is $15. That's crazy ridiculous. Rocco's will deliver for a lot less. First time I ordered I wanted to try any classic Italian dessert (THE TIRAMISU) and it had more marscapone than any tiramisu should ever have. It was not the greatest. First downfall. Second downfall and probably last time I'll get anything from them. In my most recent order, I ordered a chicken cesar salad. 1st- Chicken was overcooked, over salted & for $4.00 extra I only received what seemed like 2oz. (Rocco's and other competing businesses in the area are SUPER generous for a side of chicken for that kind of money). 2nd mistake and what got me disgusted was, as I was eating my salad, I noticed a dead bug that seemed to be there for a while hanging out on a piece of lettuce. Excellent restaurant! Came in for my husband's birthday dinner. They accepted last minute reservations for 11 people and accommodated us comfortably. Excellent service and the food was great as well. I am actually writing this review from my table because I couldn't wait until we got home. We have been coming here for a while and the food has always been fresh and delicious . However, service was sometimes hit or miss. The food is good enough to keep us coming and today it felt like a different restaurant. The minute our server Catherine came over to us we both had smiles on our faces. Her energy is great and she gives off super positive vibes and delivers great service . We also spoke to manager David who was great as well. He really seems to get it when it comes to the customer experience. Too many people write the bad reviews and too few write the good stuff. The food and service is amazing! Not much more needs to be said but if you don't trust me here is some more info: the drinks are poured well and everything is quality! The starters: we had the calamari and the sauce is provably the best marinara sauce I've had in ages!!! We also had the mozzarella sticks and those were really good! Next up we had a deliciously flavored order of wings that were perfectly crispy. Last but not least we had an order of the mussels and once again they met a high standard. If you like authentic cuisine everything I saw ordered around us and on our table looked really delicious. Now to the service, they were attentive, friendly and professional. Order food from here quite frequently. Last night I decide to order baked clams and a veal parmigiana dish w rigatoni at 8:28 p.m. for a delivery. After an hour of waiting I decide to call back and speak w a young girl who absolutely sounds clueless on the phone. I ask her where my food is and she tells me that they are super busy and that the food is still being prepared. She obviously had no idea about the order because she sounded like she was putting a story together on the phone just to calm me down. Gave Antonio's the benefit of the doubt and was willing to wait until 9:45 p.m. Now at 9:54 p.m. I decide to call back and ask for a manager. He decides to put me on hold to find out exactly where my food is and miraculously the delivery guy is ringing my bell. At that point I was just frustrated and hungry that I decided to move forward and eat my food which was cold. Also no napkins, utensils, bread, etc... Get up this morning and guess what.... now I have food poisoning. All morning in the bathroom throwing up, etc... Not only I got food an hour and 26 minutes later got food that was cold and definitely not cooked. Since your restaurant reopened your service sucks, food quality is down the drain and your employees customer service skills are horrible. Get a whole new staff and learn how to serve your customer base. read more

It's unfortunate that people claim to have had terrible experiences with the Antonios delivery workers because I have received nothing less than quick service from extremely friendly people . So where do I start.... Celebrating my 60th BD was a big one. We thought we would keep local and small.From beginning to end it was a hit!!! First and foremost, a heartfelt THANK YOU to Paul, who took charge of the entire party and didn't disappoint. He was on top of absolutely every detail right up to the amazing candles on the cakes.His staff was the best!! We had a Sangria bar that was a hit with all our guests. Apologies for not knowing the names of the staff other than Cookie. We were getting calls 2 days after party to say how incredible the food was and how impressed our guests were by the attention from staff. Right down to wiping the bottoms of our glasses when refilling drinks. Paul made sure the room looked beautiful for me. Lavender linens and beautifully folded napkins in the shape of a flower. To be honest a great place to order pizza, wings, and dinner BUT the breakfast end HORRIBLE. I ordered Eggs OVER EASY, bacon, tomato and Avocado because that's what they have on their menu as one of their platters and when I got my food it was a fried egg with bacon. Never Again.... I just had my daughter's baptism here with a little over 50 people. The party room is beautiful and spacious. The food (we chose to do a buffet) was excellent and there was plenty of it. Bryant, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything. From planning, to balloons, to table set up, to serving, bartending, cleaning, wrapping up food, cake cutting, billing, etc... he did it all! He did a great job, was so kind, and never told us no. We live in the area and have been very pleased with Antonio's. Their pan pizza is amazing! We have ordered a medium pan pizza for $10 a few times on a Friday night, and it is scrumptious and it feeds us for two meals! They also have an amazing lunch special that you can't pass up ... soup, salad, and an entree for $7. On top of that they have filled a huge hole in the area which offers next to nothing in comparrison ... East Elmhurst or "Astoria Heights" as I see it called here has needed a reinvented commercial area on 21st Avenue for a long time. My husband and I used a restaurant .com coupon to dine in. Really cozy decor inside. We had a really sweet waitress that was really attentive. I had the chicken Marsala and my husband had a skirt steak special. Everything was delicious! We order pizza from them all the time and never wait more than 30 minutes. I've been going to Antonio's for over a year now. My experience has always been going in with 2 adults (moms) & 4 children. We've been in there when its empty & when it's packed. I absolutely love Antonio's. Antonio's is family friendly!! and has a nice bar selection for the adults. The red wine "trio" was recommended by our waitress & is now my favorite!! Service has always been great. Yes, there is a once in a blue moon occasion when service is slow, usually it's a new person ... but other than that, I've never had a problem with service. Considering I'm always going in with 4 kids, the waitstaff has been awesome! Bravo for automatically taking away the tall glasses from in front of the kids & replacing them with children's cups (plastic w/a lid). Food: I have yet to get a dish I haven't liked. I've had several of the chicken dishes, the eggplant, pasta & the Caesar salad many many times. Pizza has always been delicious, we're fans of the "grandma" pizza. I just recently had the Chicken Antonio has it was great! Our group devours the garlic knots, sometimes they are over baked ... not all the time!! ... we love them regardless, seasoned well & flavorful. The desserts are yummy ... the make your own sundae for the kids is a big hit. I also like their canoli's. They had a dessert on the special lust a while back that was OMG delicious. I wish I could remember the name. It had a raspberry sauce, soooo good. I think Antonio's is a wonderful neighborhood pizzeria/ restaurant. I went to Antonio's last night for the first time. WOW! Everything was delicious from start to finish. The service was super friendly and efficient. The overall atmosphere was very pleasant. Overall, I would recommend this place. Why? First the positives. The place is actually beautiful inside if you ask me. They have this stone pieces by the bar and the wall, and I think it makes the place look great. The rest of the place is modern and hip, and brightly lit up too. It looks very welcoming, definitely not a dump. The owner is an authentic Italian. People have complained about service, but I have to say I found the owner and staff extremely pleasant and welcoming. I heard the owner on multiple occasions offer customers changes in their order to suit them. It looked like the staff may have been slow at times but for me they were fine. I completely felt at home here. The prices in my opinion are just average like other places. They have several nice flat screen TV's up too. Now the important part - the food. I have gone here several times, and most of the time the food was very good, but sometimes just average. I think the food is definitely good, but not spectacular, so I have to give this place 4 stars, maybe even slightly less 3.75 if I could. read more

We have been going to Antonio's for the last three years and it has just been getting worse and worse. The food has always been on the average side depending on whose the cooking that night! You can order a sandwich in Tuesday and it be great and have the same sandwich three days later and it's completely different. Either way what has finally made me review them is how the cashier lady that's there every morning treated my boyfriend today!! He went at 1 to order a Cuban sandwich since it is on the menu and when he tried to order it she said nope we don't have it so then when he was about to order another sandwich she didn't even let him say it before saying "no we can't do that one either" in a very rude manner. My bf was startled by the way she was talking to him, she's been rude before but not to this level. She then said the grill is closed!!! It's 1!! Why the would the grill be closed?? But that's besides the point. he then saw that there was a piece of chicken and a very minimal amount vegetables left in the trays behind the counter. So he asked her how much it would be for what was left and she said $9. There was not enough food to complete the order that people usually pay $9. When he asked why would it still be the same price, she then told him once again in a very stand offish way it's 9 dollars and it doesn't matter how much food there was!!! Couldn't there have been a nicer or more polite way to answer him??? I'm not saying change the price for him but at least don't be rude!!! She isn't rude like that to the COs so I don't understand what is her attitude!!! He left without getting anything and went to NIcks!!! Once he got home and told me what happened I called Antonio's, she answered the phone. When I asked to talk to the manager her tone completely change and let out a long breath and told me he was unavailable. She took my number and I still have not heard from the manager!! I recently celebrated my daughter's 1st birthday at Antonio's Kitchen and was pleasantly surprised at the way it turned out. Bryant was flexible, accommodating, and great to work with. He was present during the party to make sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and the space is private and really nice - great space for people to mingle and kids to run around. I am so annoyed with this place!!!! Not only do I live a few blocks away, I also work in a large facility in the neighborhood. I have been here, ordered from here and have recommended coworkers to eat here numerous times. I loved their family meal until they got really cheap with the portions and still went for the lunch special after they raised the price because I felt it was still a good deal. My issue is the idiot girls they have working there and delivering for them. On one occasion the girl delivered food (their average 40 minute delivery time for 3 blocks) and didn't have any change. She had the nerve to tell me if I wanted change that I would have to go to the restaurant to get it. I actually paid because my kids were waiting for the food forever and then walked over there to get my change. I guess she thought I wasn't going to go so she can keep my change, who knows but I have never heard of such a thing. On top of my orders, my husband works nights and orders lunch from there at least 3 times a week. The prices are always different, sometimes they forget the salad or dressing or bread yet we still give them our business. Now my issue with today. Yes there was a snow storm yesterday which left snow on the ground, and yes it's cold outside but when people order for delivery and you accept that order don't give a nasty attitude when you supposedly can't find the address you come to about 3 times a week, say it's too cold out and hang up!!! I called the restaurant and asked for a manager, the girl who answered claimed she was one, I asked what was going on for the delivery to my address, she said the girl is on her way back and that someone should wait outside because it's cold out. Is she out of her mind??? So when I started yelling at the idiot she had the nerve to tell me to be professional, words were exchanged and she hung up on me too.
