A couple months ago I ordered a salad, which I have ordered several times before. The chicken wasn't good (kinda leathery and poor taste) and the quantity of the chicken and other salad ingredients was lower. A week or so ago I tried the club sandwich (again a dish I had eaten several times in the past) and the quantity and quality was noticeably poorer. I suspect the restaurant is facing increased costs and doesn't want the menu prices in increase much, or at all. Don't think your customers don't notice this trend. Please consider going back to the delicious and large meals you used to serve, and increase the prices if necessary. We had a side room for a special graduation gathering of four BFFs from nearby Westminster School. The service was outstanding, and the set up was fantastic. The food was predictable, which is great if you can eat allergen-laden food. Everyone seemed to enjoy the cheesy bread sticks and fried mozzarella sticks. I can vouch for the salad with its crisp greens and tangy dressing. The Parmesan Chicken was certainly better than what I can make at home, but it wasn't outstanding in any way, aside from being plentiful and nicely warm. I skipped on the Chicken Marcella and the pastas. It looked like comfort food, and the servers were fabulous about keeping drinks filled and at clearing used dishes. We had a lot of food left over, so the staff kindly packaged everything up for us. For a large group dining experience, this was wonderful. I highly recommend Antonio's. The food won't amaze or disappoint, and sometimes that's more important in the context of celebrations. read more

This is our go-to take out in town. Good food, tons of choices, and reasonably priced.

The Fettucine was awful. It tasted like milk on top of noodles. No flavor at all, very bland. The crab cakes were not tasty at all either. The food felt like it was cooked for old people only, who have high blood pressure and had to add their own spices to make the food taste good. Very disappointed. it was a very bad experience. We will stick with pizza. It's difficult to screw that up. read more

So the set up of this location is very weird but the food and service was outstanding. We walked in to antonios sadly they were only doing take out, but one of the lady's noticed we wanted to eat there and let us know we could eat at the bar. We had no clue there was a bar and she walked us over and gave our order to the bartender. Drinks were very good and a great price. Food was very good the zoodles had to much sauce in my opinion but was still very good. The salad was so amazing lots of toppings. Haven't been in about 4 years because the Waitress left our food in the window for roughly half an hour while she talked with friends at another booth, then tried to tell us the kitchen was backed up. Tonight we went because I was craving the mashed potato pizza and well it's not what it used to be. Off night? Maybe. The cooks were loud and obnoxious one of the waitresses had to shush them. They thought it was laughable we ordered BBQ boneless wings instead of Mild. Mac & cheese bites were barely room temp. The shift manager? ATMOSPHERE First, this place is full (no really, FULL) of cute and funny toys and signs. It was fun and entertaining to look at and fun games in the tables -- magic eight ball and trivia cards. I don't mind all of the stuff (though you might if you are truly adverse to clutter) what I DO mind is dust, especially when I'm eating. Covered. In. A. Thick. Layer. Ew. Second, noticed that the two male cooks in the back had big bushy beards and no beard covers. That did make me wonder what other things weren't exactly to code. Ew. Third, this place is connected to the next door bar, Hoops and Hops, where you can smoke. The door between the two was left open and we kept getting whiffs of cigarette smoke. Ew. SERVICE The waitresses were pleasant and friendly. There were two of them and about 5 or 6 tables total and the seemed like the could barely keep up. They forgot a side but came back often to check in. I wasn't sure which of the two girls was our actual waitress and I'm not sure they were either, which possibly led to the fact that they were overwhelmed with so few tables. FOOD Um... It was hot... That's the only good thing I can say. I ordered the eggplant parm. It was clearly frozen eggplant cutlets that were burnt and then had canned sauce and a SLICE of cheese on top. It was edible, but barely and only because I was starving. My dining companions had disappointing items as well. The menu is a mix of Italian/Greek/Mexican/American ... It's just too much. I like it here so much. The decor is super fun -every square inch of the walls has something to look at - old games, signs, random tchotchkes - there is even a toy train overhead. It's super cute and kitschy. The opa bread is one of my favs - basically a super garlicky bread with cheese served with their marinara, it hits the spot. Their clam strips are really good - be forewarned, the dinner portion is mammoth. The pierogies are yummy and served with tons of caramelized onions which makes me happy. The spinach pie ie spanakopita is excellent. I just had a calzone with meatball and fried eggplant - their meatballs are so delicious, very well seasoned. This is a very homey, comfy spot- definitely kid/family friendly if that matters for you but nobody is bothered when us adults get a little loud either ;). Decent service, lots of interesting memorabilia and artifacts decorating the place. I had a fried clam app size . They were the strips which I knew and the clam content was ok. I prefer whole belly clams but these were decent enough. Followed with a small pizza, artichokes, peppers and anchovies. Thicker crust than I like but not thick as your basic Greek pizza. I would have preferred the 'chovies to be soaked a bit to remove some salt. Cheese was a little weak in the flavor department. A decent pizza but not a great one . They are overall well prepared and if this is your style, you would find it very good. It's a decent family restaurant. I don't think you will find any surprises, good or bad. read more

The service is friendly and fast (Chrissy was great tonight) and our meal was one of the best we've had in a very long time. Fried clam strips as a starter, fresh side salad (perfectly cold and fresh!), and the Fillet mignon, mashed potatoes with brown mushroom gravy and fresh zucchini was amazing! Joe! I've been here once before so I decided to take the whole fam to Antonio's. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed the antique-eclectic feel, lots of things to do while waiting for food. Tables have little games and a book about birthdays to keep us entertained which they did. The service was extremely attentive and warm. Shortly after our waitress took our order an older man who I assume was the manager or owner asked if we had been helped. At one point our waitress forgot a straw and she sprung to fetch us one. We ordered the fried cheese 5/5, fried pickles Omggg!! 5/5! and macaroni bites 4/5 although my kids would give it a 5/5. The marinara for the fried cheese was amazing, I personally think that you can tell a lot by the marinara in an American-Italian restaurant and this one was very rich without being too salty or overpowering. Just right! It's worth mentioning that their kids menu is the best I've seen so far with about 10-15 options! My 7yo ordered the ravioli and meatball. Whoa! Their meatballs so yummy! And my 4yo ordered a mini cheese pizza. I ordered a small Caesar salad with blackened chicken which was fine as you expect with a salad and husband ordered a calzone which I thought tasted great but he likes his crust more crunchy. Overall an amazing experience. Oh! To end the night I'd asked for lava cake but got brownie instead. A little underwhelming but still ok. It looked like a microwaved mug brownie. It tasted fine and it did the trick. Our waitress mentioned it was a new dessert so maybe they haven't perfected it yet. I had no expectations when we came to eat dinner at Antonio's for a post-Hooker-brewery meal. I had been to the attached semi- dive bar Hoops and Hops and so I didn't think their restaurant would be anything more than standard. First off our friend who lives nearby recommended the "Cottage Fries" which are sliced and fried potatoes . They are seasoned and crispy and have the skin on the edges. Those got gobbled up fast. The beer menu was good , my bf had Fin De El Monde. I got the taco salad with grilled chicken, it was fine but I ended up tasting everyone else's food and wished I'd ordered the lasagna. The tortellini had a nice sauce that emphasized basil. The turkey pot pie had crust over the top , I thought that was good. There was a pork dish that came with mashed potatoes and mashed yams that when combined in the same bite was a lovely mix of salty and sweet. read more

I love this place! I keep going back every time I'm in Simsbury and I always leave with a memorable experience. The food is amazing and the waitresses are always super friendly. I always ask them to recommend something to eat. Their tortilla soup was DELICIOUS! As generic as a tortilla soup sounds, this one was extraordinary. We also had the fried pickles for appetizer. Who ever thought of that dish?? It was the tastiest, most interesting thing I tried in a while. For main dish we had a pasta dish sausage marinated in marsala. It was a special of the week and highly recommended by the waitress. It was absolutely fantastic too. Other people in our table had the chicken marsala and other specials I can't remember. Everybody was equally delighted. I love the atmosphere in that place too. It's a mixture of family museum with lots of americana and toys. The hostess desk is like a permanent display for an electric train with a button on top that you can go, press and see the train go around. It's funny to see that kids are not the only ones that spend a good length of time playing with that thing. Steven, the owner, is a class act too. You can tell his staff loves him by the way they all interact with each other. This time we also visited Hoops, the bar adjacent to the restaurant and owned by Steven too. We recently moved to Simsbury and have started to explore the community... one restaurant at a time. Today we decided to try Antonio's because, after a long, tiring morning of cleaning and home improvements, we wanted to have lunch someplace that had good, homemade food, was casual enough for our paint-splattered clothes, and was, well, fun. Antonio's fit the bill on all accounts. I had a barbecue burger (I forget the name of it) and my husband had a prime rib sandwich. Both were very good. Our two little guys each enjoyed their favorites from the kids menu - mac and cheese and a cheeseburger. ...That is, when they weren't mesmerized by and chattering about the toys all around them. ;) The service was great too. Not only was our waitress Ashley attentive to all of our food and drink needs, she also was kind enough to bring over an extra set of table toys when my boys started quarreling over who got the Magic 8 Ball. She even ran our to-go bag out to the car after I, in my tired attempt to herd my 4 year-old outside, forgot it sitting on the table. Okay maybe it's not a 5 star place but I just enjoy the food and the funky ambiance of the place. The cheeseburgers are really tasty and I love the steak fries. Salads are good and the gummy worm desert is to die for if I had any complaint it's the pizza. I'm a pizza snob and it's just not my personal preference. The bar kinda sucks because it's usually filled with drunk and kinda nasty townies but that doesn't take away from the restaurant. I just drink elsewhere. The staff is really good. read more

What a little gem this place is. I'm from out of town and i am sick to death of chain restaurants. This place is so adorable. I was on a business trip but found myself wishing we had one local so I could bring my kids. It was near halloween and it was decorated in fall themes but you could tell the place had year round fun decorations. Food and service was fabulous. I had the spinach pie and shepards pie. Walls cool, food not so great I have been here on several occasions when visiting family and I wish the food was as good as the cool stuff all over the walls. Main meal was pretty good, the staff friendly and atmosphere fantastic. I would stay away from deserts. I couldn't get past one bite of mine and no one at my table could either. Description states they come with 2 scoops of ice cream and the picture shows them with ice cream as well. They DO NOT come with ice cream on top, even the apple crisp a la mode, which is supposed to come with ice cream. When I asked the waitress, she said the ice cream is extra and our price was adjusted and she could add ice cream if I wanted. One desert's price was adjusted by $1.75 and the other by only $.70. Didn't make sense to me since they were both supposed to have 2 scoops. I would go back again but will never order another desert. read more

Let me start out by saying that I am typically pretty forgiving of servers. After all, we all have bad days. I didn't get good service tonight but wasn't all that bothered, until our server tried to keep nearly $20 in change off a $40 bill. The irony is we paid with three $20s instead of using $41 in cash because we still wanted to tip her fairly despite the problems we had during our meal, and we didn't have enough change on us. When she took the bill, she asked if we needed change and we both answered "yes," quite loudly. Five or ten minutes later we were still waiting on our change, so I got up to go find her again. There was one staff member on the floor. I asked her about my check and it was sitting right in front of the register with the change in it. Instead of apologizing, for some reason the staff member said defensively, "she wasn't sure if you wanted change." I informed the staff member that our server had specifically asked if we wanted change and my partner and I both answered yes. Then, she kind of huffed, "well, she must've misunderstood," and walked away. I highly doubt that, and even if it was true, it doesn't make sense to take a 50% tip without being sure or to treat a customer rudely for asking after it. I moved to Simsbury recently and had been wanting to try this place. Attempting to steal from me is just about the only thing they could have done to completely keep me from ever wanting to coming back. read more

This is a gem in town. Locally owned, from scratch, reasonably priced, great for families and kids. Eclectic decor but helps keep kids entertained and distracted while waiting for food. The owner is always around and helps seat people and treats you like friends when you arrive. We've brought both of our kids here for their birthdays and they're treated like royalty. The kids love the chicken and curly fries. We adored our bbq chicken pizza and felt like we were back in Glenmont, MD at our favorite pub from back in our dating days! Ate here with my kids and my grandparents tonight. Our waitress Hayley was simply a joy, she was very attentive and on top of our order and drinks the whole time. She made sure the kids had loads of things to do while we were there. If you've never eaten there they bring little games like barrel of monkeys, big container of crayons, & other items to keep the kids busy at the table. I can't say enough about our waitress, what a gem! We ordered a spaghetti and meatballs, a veal Parmesan and a club sandwich. The portions were massive! The home style fries were thick and delicious. The meatballs had a wonderful flavor and I really enjoyed the club sandwich. Downfalls, the garlic bread could use a little salt, I didn't care for the spaghetti sauce. And I wish they served Dr pepper. The restaurant is very busy by the way of decor it looks kinda of crazy cluttered. All in all it was a great experience. read more

We love this place! It is extremely kid friendly & even if it didn't offer that perk to this mother of a 4 yr old, we would still go. It's a welcomed change to chain restaurants. The menu has a lot of options, the staff is friendly & always attentive. When you walk in, you feel like you have known the waitstaff forever. They remember you & greet you every time. We have only lived in Simsbury for less than 2 years & we feel like "regulars". The food is consistent, I won't say it's exceptional but I've never had a meal here that I didn't like.
