Having a super energetic child makes eating out difficult sometimes but when there is so much to look at and games to play at the table it is a parent's paradise. GREAT family restaurant! They have something for everyone...pizza, burgers, wraps, dinners, or my personal favorite....COBB SALAD! The best COBB ever!!! The service is great. Restaurant is clean and the decorations are just as awesome as the food. Every time we go (and we go often) there is something new on the walls or hanging from the ceiling. (Gumby, ice Skates from the 1940's, an original Mr. Potato Head, Almost every inch of the restaurant has an eclectic collection of memorabilia! Antonio's has delivered again. This time it was the spaghetti carbonnara, which is served in large portions. The cream is cream, certainly not fake, which I really resent because when I'm having something as unhealthy and fattening as carbonnara, I like to get my money's worth. Unfortunately, we were originally seated with a group of screaming children in the solarium area next to Hoops-n-Hops, but the considerate staff moved us before this became an issue. While this restaurant is cute (as far as decor, that is), their food is only so-so and the service was not very good (being ignored by the waitress, no refills on drinks until I walked up to the counter to get a refill, being brought the wrong side dish, etc.). PLUS, the last time I went there the waiter decided she didn't like the tip I left her, so she changed it on the credit card receipt that the restaurant submitted for payment. After I noticed it on my credit card statement, I called the restaurant and complained, but the manager didn't seem to care. They ultimately sent me a check for the difference, but there was no apology, they didn't admit that their employee had done anything wrong, they didn't say the offending employee would be disciplined, or anything like that at all. Suffice it to say I won't go back there ever again. Mediocre food, dishonest employees and management that doesn't care means that there is absolutely no reason to return. read more

Very slow seating, the host was very overwhelmed even while the restaurant wasn't that crowded. Heavy food. Chicken parm overly breaded and bland. Lasagna was a cheese pool. Heartburn special. Here for a night visiting from Virginia and looked for a close by place that was kid friendly. We got there before the dinner rush, and the place was empty. I questioned my choice at first but was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. We were immediately sat at a table right next to the fish tanks and given crayons to use and a card game to take home. The service was great, and my two year old loved the decor. So much to look at!! The kids menu had lots of choices, and I was glad to see very reasonably priced. Not many places can you feed your kiddo for $3. Dinner was good, and we decided dessert was a necessity. It was delicious and we left very full! read more

This is a great local restaurant. They always have great specials. We had the boarding house chicken, pickle pizza, and the elm city haddock. Awesome food, great decorations and they have trivia questions to keep you occupied while you wait. I would definitely recommend going. read more

First, let me preface this by saying I'm a 30-something, jaded, self-proclaimed foodie. Being a Simsbury resident for a for a few years, my wife and I always wanted to check out Antonio's, but any suggestion on either side was met with, "yeah, someday." Simsbury has some exciting spots for food and time is too short to spend it on something that could be lackluster. If only I could give the old me a swift kick in the ass. Antonio's reminds me of the places my parents used to take me as a kid; bric-a-brac adorning every square inch, games on the table, sandwiches served on overly-buttered grilled bread, you know...fun. And I think that's what's missing from a lot of diner's vocabulary; fun. Antonio's is not only a great place to bring the kids because of all the fun decor and games, but, believe it or not, the food is damn good. I'm originally from NYC and the one thing CT lacks is diners. This place is a diner on steroids. Great, settle-into-your-booth honest-to-goodness food. Is the chef going to win a James Beard award? No. But, what's inarguably more valuable was the smile on my wife and I's face as we ate. Great, honest food. Not to mention the servers were incredibly friendly and attentive. I can't remember the last time I got waited on so well. And the beer selection? Surprisingly good. I love craft beer and Antonio's was the last place I expected to find it. Of course, they don't have the same selection as a McLadden's or a Plan B, but you know what? They don't need to. It's damn fine the way it is. Which leads me to my next point. The adjoining bar, Hoops and Hops, looked like a lot of fun. There's not many dive bars by me, but this one fit the bill, while being clean, fun-looking and offering the same wide variety of craft beer. Sadly enough, we didn't have time to stay, but I really, really want to go back. Huge sofa in front of a giant TV with snack dispensers? And Pool tables? Sign me up. If I had the ability to give this place 6 stars on sheer ability to crack my veneer, I would. So, please take the 5 stars I'm giving, plus this glowing review as such. If you have a family, there's no reason to not have been here yet. If you're a Millenial, drop by for no other reason to be taken back to a simpler, happier time before you grew jaded. This place is just awesome. Really great, friendly waitstaff and bartenders that make you feel like you own the place, terrific selection of beers and serious comfort food. I took the time to read some of the negative comments, I just assume that most of these people are angry about life and disgruntled. This isn't le cirque. The cool quirky stuff all over the place is interesting. This is a great place to bring my family (7 yr old). All the food I have ever had is great. I love the steak sandwich!! also great wings!! The staff always makes us feel at home and we go regularly. They always change the beers on tap and there is a great selection. So if you are looking for a laid back place to eat food that makes you fat while being surrounded by fun people this is the place.... if you are a nitpicking, negative, douche, with a horrible attitude then go somewhere else. I grew up coming here, and now I bring my own kids. We like to play I-Spy with the ginormous collection of pop culture memorabilia covering the restaurant. They have barrels of monkeys, magic 8 balls, and trivial pursuit cards on every table. You will never be bored waiting for your food. The food here in my opinion is excellent. I typically go with the same thing every time because I love it so much- the Green Goddess Salad. HUGE Caesar salad with blackened chicken, bacon, candied pecans, and blue cheese crumbles. YUM!! But I have tried many things here. We got an appetizer special, mussels, that they don't have too often. The sauce they were in was out of this world. For dessert, I always get myself and the kids a piece of the Milky Way pie...its a homemade icecream pie with everything in it but the kitchen sink. Huge slice big enough to share! If you are ever in the area, this place is worth a stop! I wish they would put out a Groupon!! read more

This is our "go to" place to bring out of town guests. Relaxed, fun environment with plenty to look at while you wait for your food - which is consistently good! Great place if you have little ones, too. Try to get a seat near the big fish tank as it will keep the kids entertained. Tried this for the first time tonight. I'm sure its great if you have kids who can't sit still or are super picky. But be forewarned - they give the kids whoopie cushions which makes for a very unpleasant dining atmosphere! The food was bland and inoffensive at best. Service was polite and prompt. There food is worth a 4 star but based on the webiste, I would have never ordered from them. I order to go a lot and everytime I review the menu online, I have to remind myself that the food is good because the web site is so poor and not a good representation of the food they offer. They have messed up a few orders in the past (but in fairness we usually have a custom order) and the sttaff is always friendly and willing to make things right. Needed to find someplace for a decent quick meal near the airport and thought htis would fit the bill. The food was okay, but the service was lacking especially when we said we were in a bit of a hurry to make it to the airport. Our food was left sitting under the heat lamps for some time before our server picked it up. She never came back to see if we needed anything or to check if all is well, never a refill offer for coffee. Our to go order was sent without napkins or utensils. Place was not busy so it wasn't because they were rushed - just not attentive. Owners need to pay more attention to customer service. read more

I love this restaurant! From the moment you walk in until you're through eating, your eyes are scanning the endless collection of pop culture do-hickeys lining the walls. The food is amazing, the staff is pleasant and accommodating. I love how there is a constant update on what's new at Antonio's on the front of the menus. I love the train that goes overhead! The fried pickles are AH-MAZING! They serve their GINORMOUS salads on awesome Fiesta plates! It's the little things, like the monkeys in a barrel, Trivial Pursuit cards, magic 8 balls, on each table that make dining here a special thing. read more
