I have never had an order here delivered or picked up that was correct. Something is always missing or not done correctly. The receipt is as long as CVS and clearly spells out the order so there is no excuse. The wings are good. My son likes them with curly fries which were ordered but not in our pile of boxes. I ordered the steak and cheese added onion and lettuce and got steak and cheese. We had two burgers and two chicken sandwiches which had the most customization and were made correctly. The prices are a bit high for the size of portions and the fact that things we ordered and paid for weren't included in the order. This was a birthday dinner for my son. So this weekend has been a takeout weekend for me, my nephew really wanted People's Choice Pizza so I decided hey why not and I was actually very pleasantly surprised. The crust was thick and fluffy there was just enough sauce and the cheese was nice and cheesy without being too much cheese. We did order delivery and it was here in a timely manner the delivery woman was very nice. The price they charge for for an extra large pizza you can't go wrong and it came with 24 slices you definitely can't go wrong with that. Critiquing a food delivery during a pandemic seems like an ultimate "First World Problem", but I'll be fair and balanced and give People's Choice credit for the things they did exceptionally well. We ordered a ton of stuff for delivery today to get us through the weekend, $64 dollars worth (including tip) to be exact. For that $64 we got a medium pizza, eight wings, a Chef Salad, a whole ham and cheese grinder, a side of curly fries, and a whole Italian Combo grinder. Things That Went Really Well 1) Their delivery website rocks! It is super easy to use and lets you customize things to the nth degree. As an example, you can deselect anything on their list of "standard" grinder toppings, add on a big choice of extra toppings, and even select hot or cold as an option. 2) Besides food, they also deliver a big variety of grocery items and household goods at fair prices. So if you need TP, paper towels, vinyl gloves, sanitizing wipes, milk, eggs, ground beef, or even beer and canned cocktails, Peoples Choice can hook you up. 3) Their website said the food would be here in 30 minutes, and sonuva gun, they were right on time. 4) Their delivery menu has a terrific variety of options starting with starters or sides like skins, fries, and rings, lots of salads, pasta or seafood dinners, two kinds of pizza (Original Pan or NY thin crust), calzones, strombolis, wings, chicken sandwiches, burgers, cheese-steaks, and quite a few wraps and grinders. That's a pretty deep menu. 5) Their Chef Salad was excellent! The medium size for $8.75 was plenty for two to share and included very generous portions of good roast beef and turkey over lettuce, tomato, green pepper, cukes and cheese. 6) Our Whole size Grinders were big, and it was cool to see that they even had a bigger size named Giant! They ran $8.75 for the Ham and Cheese and $11 for the Italian (I added on some options). We had half of each grinder for lunch, and the other half is set for tomorrow. They were massive portions and a pretty good value. Things With Improvement Opportunities 1) We ordered from People's Choice because they popped a flyer in our mailbox 3 days ago. The flyer included a code (DM7445) that was supposed to apply a $5 discount if you ordered before August 31, 2020. When I ordered, the discount code was rejected, so I went without it and made a comment in the general comments field. It yielded no reply in my order, no peace offering, it was just ignored. That was disappointing. 2) Our NY Style medium hamburger pizza was kind of average. I've never eaten in their establishment so this review is for delivery. I LOVE their pizza! The pan style crust has some crunch to it, not just doughy. One of my favorite things and I judge a good pie is the sauce. Gotta have a good sauce! Zesty, slightly sweet, flavorful. This place has great sauce! I've ordered the wings as well. They have like 10 different flavors I think. The insane Buffalo is just that, a volcano in your mouth. I like the garlic Parmesan although sometimes they could be a little more coated. I recommend this place for a Friday night or a Monday night, whenever you want a good slice! read more

We have ordered numerous times from People's Choice and have been happy with food and service. Our usual is pizza and wings. Unfortunately, we had a terrible customer service experience this evening and will no longer be customers. We placed an order for a pizza and wings. Wings to be Buffalo style with extra sauce on the side. When delivered the wings were plain with all the sauce on the side. The wings were over cooked and terrible. When we called back to provide this feedback, we were advised that they would replace the wings for us. After 90 minutes we called back to check on the status of the replaced wings. Turns out that because we ordered the sauce on the side (which we did not) that the wings can't be replaced. They asked if we wanted a refund, which we accepted, but we're really disappointed with the whole interaction. read more

Ordered for the first time tonight and the food arrived hot, fresh, and was really pretty tasty. Got a pizza and some garlic knots and the pie looked great on opening it and was just as good to actually eat it. Same for the knots. Was it the best food I've ever had? No. But for what I ordered at around 8 or 9 on a Thursday night when I didn't feel like going out and grabbing something it was just about as close to great as I could get and it got here within 15 minutes of the estimated time on ordering. No complaints from me. Washed it down with a nice fresh NEIPA and it was a nice meal. Will certainly order again. read more

We have been ordering from People's choice since we moved to Simsbury in 2005. Food is decent, sometimes hit or miss, but we generally enjoyed it- our kids really love the pizza. I've been getting delivery from People's Choice in Simsbury since their inception. Maybe at least 20 years. This place has gone downhill fryer than a Jamaican bobsledder. The delivery costs are ridiculous. They totally ignore the customizations you make to your order. Today is the 4th time I've ordered a whole turkey grinder HEATED with extra tomatoes and extra mayo. They failed to HEAT it. Its inedible. And the last 3x they did not add extra tomatoes or extra mayo. Fuckin $17+ for a shitty grinder. Everyone should boycott this place. read more

What a disaster! First, we placed our order online like we always do. We recently moved so we made sure to enter our updated street address 40 minutes later we get an irate call from the delivery person saying she's been banging on the door and no one is answering which was odd since. No one knocked on our door. We informed her she went to wrong address. Upon delivery, She informed us that we put in the wrong address which we know wasn't the class. So, we moved to Simsbury about 12 years ago. People's Choice was recommended, so we gave them a shot. I have to say for the last 12 years they're okay, as far as pizza places go. (It helps that they are the ONLY place in town - that we've found anyway - that actually delivers. No one else does. If anyone knows of another place that delivers in Simsbury, I'm all ears.) I'm giving the place 2 stars because, in the past 12 years, they've been an okay place to get food from. However, I had the worst experience I've ever had with any restaurant the night before last. I ordered dinner via their online service (as I do - because it's nice to just do it all in one shot and have it show up - the online service worked well up until the other night.) After waiting for an hour, I called to see where our order was. I ended up speaking to a very nervous girl who wasn't sure what to say. She asked for the manager to me speak to me, but the manager refused. So I had to sit there and listen to the girl be an intermediary between the manager (who I could hear speaking in the background) and me as to what had happened, instead of just speaking to me directly. The girl asked me to place the order online again, but my payment for the original order had already gone through (I could see the charge on my bank account online), and I didn't want to have to pay for the order *twice*. At the end of this conversation, the manager basically told the girl to tell me that they needed to call the company that handles the website to find out what happened, and then they would issue me a refund (as I'd already paid), and then she hung up. I assumed this meant they were going to deliver the food? I don't know but I called back to ask if the food was coming, or if I needed to go somewhere else for dinner. I was told that they still needed to call the company and find out what had happened, but they were going to send the food (which, how that was possible if they never got the order, and she wouldn't take it from me verbally, I don't know), and it would be at my house in 30 minutes. Then she hung up. After 30 minutes, the food was still not here. After 45 minutes, I called to find out if it was coming, or what (at this point, my husband is amazed at my patience, and my kids are "starving"), and she said it was on the way. 5 minutes later the driver showed up with our food. Now, I get a mistake was made. It happens. But the manager refused to speak to me; they didn't let me know what was going on; and even after waiting over 2 hours (and 3 phone calls) between the time I placed the order and actually receiving the food, we weren't even offered a coupon, or a refund - or even just a basic apology for what had happened. It's now 2 days later, and I still haven't gotten an apology (even though they took down my name and number at the first phone call "to keep me updated"). As of right now, the refund that was offered during the first call still has yet to be issued. So I'm REALLY glad I didn't place the order again to pay for it a second time, as they had suggested. So I guess I'll say the food is okay - has been for 12 years - the kids really like the wings (although if you don't order them "well done" they will arrive still pink in the middle) - but they are the ONLY place in town that delivers. Because of this entire issue - and honestly, even just a quick phone call to simply apologize would have been enough to satisfy me, but I guess the manager can't even be bothered - we're just not going to order from here ever again. Our family LOVES their pizzas! And we have eaten dozens of them over the past few years. People's makes both New York Thin and New England Crust (thicker). Half of our family prefers the thin, half prefers the thicker. Having lived in NYC, I can attest that the NY thin crust is true to form. There are a variety of specialty and signature pizza's. The signature "Lasagna Pizza" (ricotta, sliced meatball, marinara, mozzarella) is the most delicious pizza I have EVER tasted! I get it on the thicker crust and it's my go-to pizza, consistently delicious every time! Equally amazing, that my son and husband devour, is the signature "Piggly Wiggly Pizza" (like a meat lovers -it has pepperoni, bacon, sausage, mozzarella). We have ordered this adding meatball to it - even better! What we like most about People's pizzas, is that they're generous with their toppings, they cover the entire pizza. We have another son who is a finicky eater and he consistently enjoys the signature "Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza" (hamburger, bacon, tomato, mozzarella). He also says their burgers are excellent, served on a thick brioche bun, that he orders with curly fries. We can also give a nod to the calzones - they are yummy! People's has excellent carry out prices and specials. We utilize delivery frequently, and it has ALWAYS been as stated, usually faster than expected, always within 1/2 hour of placing a large order during dinner time - even in inclement weather! Furthermore, I've interacted with several different drivers -they've always been courteous and the food arrives HOT! People's is conveniently located on Iron Horse Blvd., directly across the street from the park and performing arts center in Simsbury. You can bring your little one(s) to the park and then walk over to People's for lunch or dinner. During the summer months when concerts occur at the outdoor Performing Arts Center, you can either pick up food and carry it over to take in some music or attend the concert and cross the street for a casual, impeccably clean atmosphere to enjoy pizzas, grinders, burgers, wraps, salads, or simply to have a drink. They stay open later than everyone else so if you have a late night craving go for it. I would recommend ordering something other than pizza though. Ordered food for delivery was a horrible mistake, I'm going to say it was not the drivers fault. The person at the store gave the driver not only the wrong address, but the wrong phone number. So when they called to let us know they were outside, btw there was no car out front and it was the restaurant that call from an unknown number. The poor driver went back. We called looking for our food and the guy started blaming us that we didn't answer the phone when delivery was there, which it was not. Long store short I called them back when the driver just drove by our house while my father was standing out side waiting. I love this place - it's affordable and I'm not sure of there is a new owner or something but the quality has improved over the last year or so. The remodel turned out very nice too so you can sit down and eat at the restaurant now. Keep up the great work! read more
