Stumbled upon Antonio's by accident while looking for a restaurant around Arthur Avenue. Upon first walking in, the restaurant was almost completely empty, which left us a little skeptical. The bartender greeted us when we walked in and was extremely outgoing and friendly which definitely put our minds at ease. The food ended up being so good it's the only place we ever go now when we go to Arthur Ave! The chicken sorrentino is my favorite (prepared differently here than any other Italian place I've been too.) The waiters are all very friendly and inviting as well. After visiting Authur Ave for the first time in 3 years of being in NYC, we got so hungry passing through the marketplace! Luckily, we found Antonios around 2pm on a Saturday and were greeted with smiles and a song! The Place was warm and inviting. they brought fresh bread and fruity green olive oil that still makes me drool thinking about it. I skipped the butter and used the dish to make a dipping oil blend for the table. We got a huge carafe of super Tuscan wine and all was good. Being Italian, from Italy, I am very skeptical of American Italian food. I ordered the pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage. It was absolutely perfect- delicate broth, wine and garlic. Fresh! My date got the chicken saltimboca and that was delicious also! I plan to come here once a month just to feel like I'm at home again! read more

I was a little underwhelmed going here. The place itself is quite large and nice inside with a great ambiance and excellent service. It's close by to Arthur Avenue but not actually on Arthur Avenue so the area isn't the best but it's perfectly fine and there's always plenty of people walking around and different places open. The prices are reasonable overall. I had the chicken stuffed with different cheese. The chicken itself was pretty good and the sauce was flavorful. I was skeptical, however, that the food came out within like 5 minutes of ordering it. You really can't make things fresh in that amount of time! It came with a side of pasta with tomato sauce which was nice but the pasta was like normal pasta I'd make at home and the tomato sauce tasted like it came from a can. The dish was also ice cold! It probably would have been better warmed. I liked that we had a free glass of wine with yelp check in but the wine tasted like water - I'm sure it was watered down. I really, really wanted to love this place but there's so many better Italian joints in the area a couple of blocks away. read more

Me and my girl love Arthur Ave but this night we decided to check something out that was different from where we normally go. This place is solid, but there are definitely some better spots imo on Arthur Ave. we started with a house salad that I thought was subpar compared to the traditional Italian house salads with the white vinegar and oil dressing, which this did not have. Out next dish was Quattro Foggatti pizza, which was probably the best dish of the meal. They get the mozzarella from casa Della so you can't miss with any of the pizzas on their menu, the one we ordered was excellent and the other ones looks good too. Our two main dishes were chicken scarp and penne ala vodka, chicken scarp was subpar it was two chicken cutlets as opposed to on the bone or tenderloins which I'm not a fan of, and it just generally lacked flavor. The penne ala vodka was excellent though, great flavor and creamy texture. So all in all it was two for four on the dishes we order some hits some misses but the staff was very welcoming and the place is generally solid overall. read more

If you want a place with great ambience, zero pretension and delicious home-style Italian food, this is your place. Every time I come here I leave feeling like family. This time we got the arancini, stuffed mushrooms (a special), lamb shank over risotto (also a special), and gnocchi alla bosciaola. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection, and my fiancé is a chef so him saying that probably holds more weight than me, though we both agreed. The bartender Joe is a total sweetheart, as is every other person we came in contact with. Finished the night off with a digestif of amaro on the rocks, and their homemade ricotta cheesecake and filled-to-order cannoli to take home. Can't wait to try it but definitely don't imagine it will disappoint. I've been living in NYC for over 10 years, and this is one of the best Italian joints in town.
