One of the best breakfasts we've eaten in a long time.  Ants Pants is a small cafe that serves amazing food and has a great vibe. Plan your visit and expect a short wait if you have a group, but it is worth it.  The gentleman/Host should be given the nickname "Maestro" due to the way he coordinated the seating, orders, and customers. He was amazing and it was quite obvious he cared about his customers (even first time visitors like us). We had a party of 6 and only had a short wait on a Sunday morning until seats could be shifted to accommodate.  The food was amazing. Good coffee started off our meal.  I had the Stack, which was delicious. Sourdough bread topped with bacon, tomato, arugula, and sunny side eggs, served with pecorina chip/hashbrowns.  Typically I'm disappointed with the amount of bacon given when something is said with bacon. This dish has ample amounts of bacon that would have even satisfied Ron Swanson! Other dishes ordered were the house omelette (goat cheese & caramelized onions) amazing, Perfectly cooked eggs Benedict, egg and cheese croissant. Our party of 6 came over for brunch on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded but we were able to snag the last table in the back at around 11 am. The staff was really friendly and it was a bit tight inside but cozy and lively. Chai - It was perfect for the colder rainy day we were having and it was so comforting. A great chai flavor that was nutty and full of spice from the nutmeg and cinnamon. Hash Brown Benedict - This came packed with smoked salmon, the poached egg, spinach and the hollandaise sauce all over a hash brown and served with a side of fruit. I enjoyed the hash brown base and the runny egg was great but overall it was a little bland. We really loved our brunch here! Came on a busy Sunday and were seated outside pretty quickly. We both got the croissant sandwich with fries drizzled with garlic aioli - the sandwich came with mango/pineapple habanero jam, arugula, scrambled eggs, caramelized onions and goat cheese (we asked for no bacon). So delicious! A pretty big croissant too, and the fries were satisfyingly crispy and the aioli was so good. They even gave us tater tots on the house which were so crispy and delicious. Coffee was great, I got a latte and it was such a satisfying class brunch together with the sandwich. Service was super nice and very friendly! A new absolute favorite for brunch here in the neighborhood. I cannot believe I had never dined here before! They have a beautiful back patio and decent sized dining room, though I would recommend trying to arrive prior to 10am on weekends if you'd like a seat. The staff here is amazing and took incredible care of us - really just the best vibes. I went with a benedict and almond milk chai latte and both provided some serious comfort on a difficult day. The way i'll always go here. Talk about great service great vibes. Great price. Everyone is fantastic. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The breakfast burrito was A+. Cute neighborhood spot. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try (much of it brunch-centered) but ultimately went with the bacon and feta salad with chicken. Salad had a good mix of all the ingredients, though the chicken was a tad dry (nothing that a healthy dousing of the dressing didn't fix) and the bacon was sparse, I could've used more of it. My favorite part was the little toasted rounds of bread on the side. Overall, for almost $20, the portion was on the smaller side, so much so that it sent me back into the rain to find a dessert spot. The waiter was very friendly and came by often to see how I was doing. Since I came in an off-time, the food came out quickly. Cash only, though I saw someone eating there who paid via Venmo. We always love a good ants pants meal. It's been awhile since we've been, but we would brave the lines regularly when we lived in rittenhouse. Be prepared to wait either outside or be in the way in a cramped hallway as food flies by you. It's well worth the wait so don't give up hope! Maple bacon sandwich is a go to for our party, though, it seemed different than years past when we went this month. However, still great. Love the tofu scramble, and their French fries are awesome. More places should have shoe string fries. They refill your coffee enough for you to be jittery the rest of the day. Only downside is cash only. adorable little neighborhood restaurant with tasty bites! note, it is cash only. i've been here twice and enjoyed it both times! they have a rotating specials menu with unique dishes. i really appreciate the abundance of choices available at this little cafe, and everything is made with love. my least favorite dish here was the old bay tots + onion rings. i believe it was a special from a while back, but was so salty that it was barely edible. earlier this week, i had the gobbler sandwich which was a thanksgiving special. the sandwich was good and tasted like thanksgiving, but i've had better gobbler sandwiches in philly. my friend really enjoyed his maple bacon sandwich, perhaps ill stick to the regular menu next time. the cafe is quite small, i can see it filling up during popular times. i was last there around 8am (right after opening) on a saturday and there were only two other tables. service was fast and our waiter was friendly. just be prepared to bring cash (or use their atm)! read more

Very good cafe. Took my girl here, and it didn't disappoint. The service here is good and timely. I came on a week day around lunchtime, so I assume the weekend service could be different. The food was all delicious. The people here really know flavor. I got the maple bacon sandwich, and my girl got the stack with a side of French toast. Everything tasted so good. I was hoping and praying my sandwich didn't finish, but I could help myself lol. My girlfriend, who is usually full pretty quickly, ate ALL of her food. The French toast here is pretty good too. This place offers an Australian theme which was really cool. The brunch menu was reasonably priced. If dining in, this place is cash only! Venmo is only accepted if food is being picked up. The place has two dining rooms. I didn't realize they had another side until I got up to use the bathroom. The menu definitely has an interesting twist in food selection. For example, I got the Sweet Chili Pork Roll Sandwich which was really delicious. Reminded me only a little bit about going to the Jersey shore. I like how they used foccacia and I liked the crunchiness the hash browns offer. The asian crisp garlic mayo offered a different taste than I am use to with this kind of dish. The chip that came with this dish (sweet potato fries) should not be missed either. The waiter even said how amazing the chips are. DANG! If you want a solid brunch, you've gotta hit ants pants. Be prepared, no reservations, long waits...so get there early or just be ready to take your time. We walked up for a party of 2, and had about a 30 minute wait. We hung outside, and eventually stood in line when it opened up a bit. Unexpectedly, waiting was one of the coolest parts of the experience, because you are essentially standing in line right in front of the kitchen, and you are watching all the magic happen. It really gives you respect for this business, watching everyone run around and working together. It's such a tight space too, where you are just engulfed on all the amazing smells and sounds of their food preparation. The menu is huge, with a lot of cool options.
