scheduled an appointment with Antspec for my 2005 STI on the 21st of April. I was met with Reggie and talked about the services that was due for that day. The communication was great! Fast forward a few hours and I get a call from him letting me know how progress is moving along but, not all seas are of smooth sailing. A routine check up of my spark plugs indicated that they should be serviced. i was given the option to either source them myself, or have him go ahead and get them for me. i gave him the OK to get them for me and that was that. A few hours later and I receive another call from him and I'd say about 90% of the work I was getting was complete, upon further inspection of my vehicle it turned out that a few of my silicone hoses have degraded. Reggie asked if i wanted to go ahead and have them replace it, and I agreed. Unfortunately this would mean my vehicle would have to stay overnight and a few days for the parts to arrive. After hanging up with him I wanted to see how much the hose kit was going to cost. They were a bit more than I would have liked to spend on some hoses, so I rushed to give him a call back. After quickly discussing the hoses he said he would price match them without hesitation. Wonderful! Its now April 25th and I get a call in the morning stating my car will be ready by 3pm. Sure enough when i had arrived at Antspec it was parked out front. Overall Im very pleased with the service that the guys over at ANTSPEC provide, they are friendly and easy to talk to. Without a doubt if the parts were available I would have been out the same day. I will be returning for any future work that needs to be done for my car. I am going out on a limb here to explain my integrity. I feel the need to add this due to Cobb's recent response to the Better Business Bureau which was their attempt at misleading the BBB and claiming I attempted to defame them. Professionalism from a company where I spent 8k+ and intended on spending much more. I am a veteran, Combat Medic (91b20/E-5). After the Army, I spent the last 18 years of my life as a Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff. I have passed several polygraphs and my wife proclaims my greatest fault is my honesty. Ironic because I NEVER pushed my vehicle. In addition, I smelled the burning oil smell after my first of two tunes.... Anty, the manager admitted he and I spoke and our call was disconnected. He claimed I hung up on him as I claimed the same. Luckily my wife, also a prior Police Officer, was present on speaker phone when the call was disconnected, not by me. Anty admitted he received a voicemail from me after their business hours BUT HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. THAT is professionalism at its best. Here are my complains and transgressions on the part of Cobb LA. I telephoned them with my issues. The only resolution offered by the Customer Service Rep., Ronnie Bock, was to drive the vehicle to their shop, a 7-10 hour drive for me from Santa Clara to Fountain Valley, on a broken engine. The specific reason I chose this location was the verbal guarantee that this location was the best, hence attempting to avoid ALL my problems. Their grand opening was well put together for an all-day affair -- nice crowd, good food, free goodies, and nice cars all around. Cobb was giving tours of the facility, had their showroom open, dyno and garage bay on display, and also had a tech class for the tuners in mind. Cobb also held a raffle and a couple of my buddies won a Cobb [shift] knob and a downpipe + hi-flow cat for an '08 MS3. These guys SERIOUSLY took care of me today. I haven't been this impressed with aftermarket support, help, assistance, installation ever. Ant and Reggie single handidly got me taken care of with my flash and my cold air intake install. Reggie was super helpful in getting me hooked up, set up with my new flash, and even upsold me on the cold air intake, hooking me up since I came in. He was diligent, walked me through the system. Even helped me set up a couple monitors (saved me hours of watching videos/reading manuals). Ant went out of his way, end of day, after I spent a hour and a half trying to find someone to install the cold air intake, to squeeze me in, despite it being end of day. He over heard a conversation and put down his paperwork he was busy with and "i'll take care of you". This right here earned me as a customer for life. He went above and beyond. I am just floored these guys were still this friendly, helpful at the end of the day, Friday to boot. I'll personally be bringing thousands of dollars of work back here, but also referring my other enthusiast friends as well, knowing they'll be taken care of. I first came to Ant Spec before it was Ant Spec back when it was still Cobb SoCal to get a downpipe installed. I had a great experience with Reggie so when I saw that it was now Amt Spec I was, admittedly, worried. However I was pleasantly surprised that it was even better than it had been. Over two weekends spread another 2 weeks apart I had an elh installed got a tune. F4om the moment I contacted Ant Spec Reggie was my main contact and made sure the how experience was top notch. After getting an appointment for the installation Reggie called to confirm the day before and was at the shop ready to go at the stated opening time. The installation went smoothly and I had my car back when promised. Came back today for my tune and it went just as well as the header installation. Reggie was I top of the whole thing. When there were issues he gave me a call, and helped resolve them, my fuel pump and filter needed to be replaced which I knew was probably going to have to get done. The required parts with installation were a good deal compared to what the dealer would have charged so I was happy with that. I Got my car b.s. k and had a nice Q and A session with the tuner, Jason, who is very knowledgeable and really nice. Pulled in the car a bit on the way home and I was VERY happy with the results. After speaking with the guys, and getting a tour of the shop, I have to say I will be bring my car for anything and everything I need done. read more

Everything was good. I really liked how they treated you as a customer and let you know on things about your car . Everything looked fine till I got my clutch replaced by one of their workers. 6 months later my clutch felt like it popped out place. I took it to a different location because I had a wierd feeling that it was installed wrong. The shop ends up telling me that it was installed wrong and forced in . I might come off a bit boastful, I'm sorry if I do but I want to be clear how amazing this shop is .. I own a hand full of cars, and I've really been dragged in the dirt by some .. COBB SO CAL is not one of them .. I sent my GTR there, and there were some issues that they found took take of them and still managed to care for the GTR as if it was one their own .. The GM is super hands on walked me though the car over and over in detail, and texted me or called for updates to assure me that everything is ok .. In my mind there are 2 people that can kill you, your doctor and your mechanic ... COBB will save you every time.. Found their downpipe at a great price from an Amazon shop, but didn't feel comfortable installing it. Emailed them asking if how much to install and if they would install if I didn't purchase the part from them. Reggie Teneza immediately replied saying he would beat the price or match the price. I sent him the Amazon links where I was planning on purchasing the downpipe and that day the price was was $468 with free shipping and no tax. Cobb and most other shops charged $595. Waited for a reply from Reggie until the next day until after I got off work and since he didn't reply I decided just to purchase the downpipe from Amazon. Go back on Amazon and now their price is $700. Funny how Reggie never gave me a quote for an install and never replied to the links I sent him, but the price where I was planning on purchasing their product sky rocketed. Forcing a shop to hike up their price, so they don't have to lower their price is just shady. Don't plan on doing any business with them in the future and won't be buying any of their products. There are plenty of other companies besides Cobb who makes parts for my car. read more

Cobb Tuning is the way to go if you are a fan of speed. I have the Cobb on my 335I 2008 E-90 and its night and day from the factory stock software. If you have a car that the COBB can be installed on I highly recommend you buy it and get it installed on your ride. Keep up the good work guys. read more

In addition to the protune, I had some bolt ons installed as well First, I would like to praise Ronnie Bock (Performance Advisor) and Jason Rooney (Retail Calibrator) for being exceptional from the get go. I am new to the STi world and they gave honest suggestions, provided great professionalism and did everything in a timely fashion. Most importantly, they provided me with customer support after I had my protune done answering additional questions I had. So after 3 days, I was finally contacted by an associate of Cobb So Cal. We spoke a few times on the phone trying to find a solution to my issue. Gave me his direct extension, which didn't work. I informed him about this and he said they must be messing w/ the phones....maybe that's why they didn't get either of my messages, something I completely understand but, not really my problem. Ultimately we couldn't find a fix for my predicament, as their shop was booked up until after my next trip, and they didn't have the springs in stock to swap them out in case they were defective. The person I spoke to was nice, and was honestly trying to be helpful, he just didn't understand the sense of urgency there was for me to get my car fixed, and the disappointment I had in their product. I've noticed that Cobb no longer offers the product that I'm having an issue with on their website. Without opening Pandora's box, I'm going to go ahead and say that them no longer offering this product is an admission of "we just didn't do a good enough job", could be a "we just didn't sell enough of them" but I would argue that the two are correlated. I feel as though they could have worked harder to help solve my problem, and didn't. I'd also like to remind everyone that 2 stars means "meh, I've experienced better" and quite frankly I have. I called around to some other shops who have comparable products in stock, and the time to assess, and fix (if necessary) my Subaru before my next trip. read more

I had my Evo X tuned there and they did a great job getting the power I wanted. They are usually more popular with the Subaru and Mazda guys but they do know Evos too. One of the tuners used to work for AMS and if you know Evos you know AMS. It's friendly staff and such a clean shop. It's one of the neatest garages I've ever seen and it's a large facility. They have a meet every 1st Thursday of every month at 6pm so you guys can meet the staff and see different cars as well and even get your grubb on for free. read more

Got my 2011 STi stage 2+ tuned and they did the install for a header. I was very happy with the entire experience. I give this 4 stars instead of 5 because it was so difficult to get a hold of them to inquire about installing more parts in the coming months. On the first occasion I was provided with a response pretty quickly, but after that I would email Antolin and either never get a response back or call and be told I would be called back after he gets back from lunch and it wouldn't happen. I understand it gets busy, but you really need to write things down, hire someone to remind you or something. I ultimately gave up and went somewhere else. I felt that contacting anyone else in the company about this communication issue would lead nowhere. Should you get work done here? Hell yes, they are very knowledgable. After the amazing experience I've had at Cobb SoCal, I would never consider taking my vehicle anywhere else. They go above and beyond to provide amazing customer service and quality work. I still have a lot to learn about my car and these guys are so patient with answering any questions I had via email, over the phone and in person. Ronnie is the guy I usually talk to, but I've also been helped by Reggie and he is great as well. I work in customer service so I feel like I can tell the difference between good and bad service. To say that this place is "good" just doesn't quite cover it. I actually felt like they care about making their customers happy rather than just going through the motions. Not only that, but I had several obstacles that presented themselves with the work I was doing. They could of easily told me "sorry we won't be able to get this done," but instead they worked hard to find a resolution to my issues and got the car ready on schedule. I couldn't ask for more.
