I asked him to check my transmission. He said sure I just needed to drop it off in the morning. He called later that afternoon. He mentioned she (my truck) was ok. I then mentioned my problem was I had to warm up my truck for 15 minutes and then she would be good to drive. Having to do this every time I had to go to work or after work I'd sit there for a while was becoming annoying. Bill kept the truck for over night to see how she would run in morning. . Bill drove her and he expierenced the same thing I did. Sure enough it was the transmission. I took her home and drove it about a week so I could notify work. It was going to cost me 4,800.00 for a rebuilt 3 year warranty. Bill called and said there was another piece that needed repairing so I paid a little over $5.000. All in all I liked the fact Bill had my truck ready in 4 days was fantastic he originally quoted me 5 days. I had the best quality care for my vehicle. Bill was very professional.

Since my truck was out of warranty, I wasn't sure where to turn. I reached out through Yelp and heard back from Ed almost immediately. He had a good idea of what might be wrong and invited me to bring the truck in for an assessment. After inspecting it, he identified damage (caused by rats) to the transmission wiring harness, which had unfortunately caused internal damage. He walked me through everything clearly and provided a very reasonable estimate for a full rebuild. Throughout the entire process, Ed was easy to communicate with, always professional, and genuinely helpful with his advice. What really stood out was how he went above and beyond after the repair. I was told this type damage might be covered under my comprehensive auto insurance. Ed then took the time to work directly with my insurance company--providing detailed documentation and expert insight. Because of his effort and experience, the claim was approved and the repair ended up being fully covered. That level of service is rare these days. I truly appreciate Ed's honesty, professionalism, and follow-through. He did exactly what he said he would do and then some. I wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend him to anyone in need of transmission work.

I found Francis through an online search because of the many positive reviews, and during our first interaction he was friendly, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. He ordered the part directly from Acura and quoted me a fair price. My car was ready the following day, but when I arrived to pick it up, Francis informed me that my vehicle had been involved in an accident while in his care. He explained that another driver had been speeding through the parking lot and crashed into him. He gave me the other driver's information, and I contacted him immediately. The other driver gave a very different version of events. He stated that he was backing out of a parking space and did not see Francis. He also told me that Francis provided his driver's license information but refused to share insurance information. Now, more than a month later, I still have a damaged vehicle and have not received insurance information from Francis despite multiple phone calls, text messages, and outreach from Mercury Insurance. I trusted this shop to take care of my car, not return it to me in worse condition and leave me responsible for a $500 deductible. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability and urgency. Francis acted as though this situation was not a major concern and repeatedly assured me that the other driver would "take care of it," which has not happened. According to the other driver, Francis even asked him to change the story about what happened. I chose this business because of its strong reviews and the image Francis presents, but my experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I believe customers deserve honesty, transparency, and responsibility when their vehicle is in someone else's care.

I hired this company to diagnose an issue with my RV slide and paid $200 for the service call…read more Their conclusion was that the motors needed to be replaced, and I was told they would follow up with a quote for parts and labor. Instead, I contacted BAL, the manufacturer of the slide system, directly. BAL recommended a retrofit repair kit as the proper fix, which I purchased myself for $160. That kit includes two new motors. Once I had the OEM-recommended parts, I asked this company for a labor-only quote. After multiple follow-ups, they declined to even provide one, stating their technician "has not had good luck" with these retrofit kits and that they were not comfortable performing the repair. That's the part I find most frustrating. The retrofit kit still involves replacing the same motors they originally diagnosed as failed. If they were not comfortable performing the manufacturer-recommended repair, that should have been disclosed upfront -- before I paid for a diagnosis and spent time sourcing the solution myself. I appreciate their honesty in ultimately admitting their limitations, but that honesty came after the fact, not before. In the end, I paid $200, got no repair, no quote, and no clear path forward until I handled it myself. Future customers should ask upfront whether the technician is experienced with their specific slide system and whether they are willing to quote labor separately before paying for a diagnosis.

My previous go-to mechanic tripped me with a quote of $575 for the valve gasket cover replacement (I assumed they meant the entire thing, not the rubber seal). I did that, I was then told that the registered owner, our CEO, would need to fill out all the paperwork. I explained that the tiny home was owned by the corporation as noted on the registration. I further attempted to explain I had power of attorney and a letter from our legal department validating said authority. The manager said no. I will not name him since I feel this is a broad issue with the company. The manager was very rude he did not even ask to see the documentation I discussed. I was already heading to the yard and I was planning on arriving before LA traffic started to get bad. Had to reroute and find another yard that understood business 101. Luckily found one by end of day, but would not be able to store until documentation was reviewed. Rental was approved early the next morning. Unfortunately I had to drive an additional 60 miles from where I was and could not avoid traffic. Lost several hours and an additional day since I had to rebook. I do not recommend this business at all. Common sense, knowledge and respect our not available at this business.

They were super responsive with the best customer service I've ever encountered, clear communication and consistent follow-up throughout the entire process. I originally brought my car in after getting a warning to stop immediately. I called around and got multiple quotes and they had the best deal. Andrew who answered the phone was incredibly friendly and correctly diagnosed it as a battery issue right away. He walked me through the difference between a refurbished and new battery and I chose the refurbished option which came with a one year warranty. Unfortunately the battery failed shortly after but never in my life have I experienced customer service like this. They offered to pick up my car and drop off a loaner. That alone is exceptional. Owner Ivan took full responsibility without hesitation and the turnaround time was phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. I don't live nearby but I will absolutely be coming back for all future service. They really take pride and joy in making sure that everything is done well and will provide a solution with the utmost customer service.

Would like to start out by thanking Yelp for allowing customers to express their experiences. We all have come to realize this type of service from Yelp can help people make wise decisions when it comes to starting and building a relationship with any type of business. This includes but not limited to restaurants, hotels, airlines, personal health care, doctors, dentists, construction workers, plumbers, cabinet makers, electrician's, gardeners, painters, etc..... an yes Automotive and Transmission shops like ours. It has been brought to our attention by some of our long time and even newer customers who have developed and maintained a very good relationship with us, that we need to respond to Mr. Bravermans experience to set matters clear. There is always two sides to an experience, I hope that all of you who are considering to trust us with your vehicle and start a relationship with us that you can depend on, LISTEN TO THESE FACTS.. Mr. Braverman lied in court under oath, was reprimanded by the superior judge. He was told to lower his voice and sit down, reminded by the Judge as a warning that he is in fact under oath. Mr. Braverman claimed with a very loud arrogant voice that he never, ever signed an invoice to remove his transmission for inspection and therefore did not have a legal contract with Goldenwest Transmission, and should be granted his money back. While questioning him and reminding him about seeing his car on the hoist, and his transmission apart on the bench, he again with a very arrogant and angry voice yelled out... "How do I know that this is MY Transmission??" I personally showed him and explained to him the clutch and torque converter material as a result of converter failure and worn out clutches. His vehicle as he stated has over 175,000 miles. He already knew that the Toyota Dealer wanted $4000 to replace his transmission, not including any computer or wiring that it may need. The Judge after reading the B.A.R's Report, clearly noted that Mr. Braverman did in fact sign our invoice authorizing us to remove his transmission for inspection. It was clearly noted as to the estimated cost of repair. There was a continued communication with Mr. Braverman with additional concerns outside the transmission that he authorized to take care of, such as replacing the after-market mounts with dealer mounts, and replacing a bad axle at a reduced cost since the transmission was already removed. As to the other shop he mentioned giving him back his money... He bragged about how he threatened him or else he would sue him in court. Mr. Braverman is not some innocent senior citizen that has been taken advantage of. He is very aggressive and was not afraid to tell you he is going to take you for millions. There was a recorded three-way conversation between the B.A.R , myself and Grant as to the diagnosis of Mr. Braverman's vehicle. They would not agree that even if they installed a factory transmission in his vehicle with over 175,000 miles that they could warranty that he would be absolutely satisfied with the overall drivability with out taking in consideration of replacing the cars computer and going through the electrical circuits. He was able to drive his vehicle with the transmission working and operating with no leaks and no safety issues, far as we know his is still driving his vehicle. In the end Mr. Braverman was looking for a free transmission plus an extra payout with his money being returned. We provided him with car rental service at no charge and did everything we could to make him a happy customer except giving him his money back. The court case is available for public review, I hope this response to Mr. Bravermans experience will not only help my existing customers but will also CLEAR UP ANY DOUBTS to any future customers. Five star rating/review for Golden West Transmission and their team! My husband and I had taken our older vehicle to have what we were pretty sure was a transmission issue to a general mechanic we have been using for years for other repairs for both our vehicles. We were told that our options were to have the transmission rebuilt or to replace it with a different one, both very costly options. I recall having heard the word "solenoid" in the description of the problem and made sure to place a call to my very mechanically and car savvy father-in-law who resides in another state to discuss our next steps. He suggested we seek out a transmission specialist to get a second opinion as they are experts on transmissions. I did some research, made a few calls, and talked with Aubrey at Golden West Transmission who was very polite, professional, empathetic and helpful. She informed Jerry of our situation who called me back for what would be the beginning of honest, professional, exceptional service. The entire time we worked with Jerry at GWT he was straightforward, honest, not pushy, and always encouraged we think things over and make an informed decision we were comfortable with. After his evaluation of my car he determined that there was a bad solenoid and said that he was 95% sure that if we replaced just the solenoid it would resolve our issue. Again he was honest, did not make any guarantees but gave us his recommendation and provided us all the information we needed to know to make the decision we felt was best. There was never any pressure, instead there was honesty and professionalism. This option was a significant ($1000 less) difference between the least costly option previously offered. We decided to move forward with the solenoid replacement at GWT hoping it would resolve the issue and we would not have to replace the whole transmission. Why replace it if we didn't have to? It was worth the small risk. We moved forward with the solenoid replacement with Jerry at GWT and are happy to say that a week later we're cruising around Westminster. A huge thank you to Jerry at Golden West Transmission for being kind, professional and honest (and yes, for fixing our car!). Truly a one of a kind in the industry. Yelp is a place many of us go to find reputable businesses in our community and Goldenwest Transmission has a long list of well served and happy customers, who have stayed loyal for many years. My reasons for returning to this business are many. It has been my personal experience that they always strive to be honest and will NEVER deceive customers. They even encourage customer inspection of parts with the diagnosis of the problem. I…read morehave had ignition issues for a little while now that culminated in my car not starting unless I crank the ignition a dozen times or my car just dies on me in the middle of the road as recent as this past weekend. I've taken my car to repair shops near my home and they always end up repairing something else's and not fixing the real issue. Thankfully I found Robert and his team on yelp and they saved from a very unnecessary alternator replacement that the other repair shop had diagnosed was the issue. It turns out that there was nothing wrong with my alternator and that it was actually my ignition switch being faulty and frying/melting the other wires inside my steering column. That made sense on why now sometimes my care would start up smoothly vs when it randomly did not want to start since the melted wire contacts were precariously connected and hanging on by a thread I dropped my car off at 8am and got my car back by 3pm same day. Price was fair and less than I had expected. Will be taking my car to Robert and his crew from here on out

But truth is there was no explain, This is what exactly i asked 'did you charge 5.1 Qt for 6Qt price?' and the owner said "yes" that was it, no explain. after i heard only ' yes' with following silence, i said 'ok thank you' and hang up. 2. Owner should try to fine where the negative reviews are coming from, before complaining negative review accusing their business. Some other place get me back the left over oils for next time. Some place use leftover for next customer and charge them for only 5Qt. they are all different. Finally changed the new ownership as Tom's Auto. But they don't do smog check. We went there after our brunch in HB and found the battery of my hubby's car was almost dying. We called AAA service and decided to check the battery and check engin light by specialist at Tom's Auto where the location was so close from Bella Terra mall. The new owner, Tommy checked the battery and he immediately told us we needed to replace the new battery, 7 years old and the alternator. Big surprise!! I couldn't believe I saw the familiar faces. I was so happy to meet the same mechanics we knew each other for years at Kim's Auto. We had to wait at least 3 hours until they replaced the new part, the battey. We decided to discover a new mall opened 5 years ago on Beach Blvd. We found a great mall called Rodeo 39. Looks like LBX hangar vibes. We really enjoyed drinking new great beers at PAVO craft brewery inside Rodeo 39. We could spend there without stress. We got back to Tom's about 3 hours later, two mechanics were still working on the alternator of a car. We waited for about 30 mins, everything was done. We checked w Tommy to make sure everything was good. This was the 1st visit since the ownership was changed. We were confident about the service. Thank you! Tommy and korean mechanic!! You have to take the whole front bumper off to do it, so if you don't know what you're doing there are plenty of places you can mess it up at. Rather than just say "I can do that" like 10s of other service shops just to get a job, he looked it up and called me back and gave me a reasonable price. It was a 3 hour job and he had it back to me before then end of the day even though I dropped it off close to 3:00. And it was still the quoted price. I'm an engineer and we talked and he had a great working knowledge that impressed me. His demeanor was kind, pleasant and positive. This is a professional. Highly recommended!

Since it was right before the Fourth of July holiday, I knew they were extremely busy and already had a full schedule. When I explained that I was moving next week and was on a tight timeline, Bryan went out of his way to fit me into his schedule, even though he was very busy. He installed my crossbars professionally and charged me a very fair price. I truly appreciated his kindness, flexibility, and excellent customer service.
