Good quality breakfast in the Poipu Shopping Village across the street from the Kiahuna Plantation Resort. While the seating and ordering process is odd, it seems to work ok once fully explained. You put in your name to be seated. Once seated in casual table and chairs outside between building in the strip mall, you wait to go inside to order and pay... Even water and coffee, you wait to be called before ordering and receiving. For breakfast, we had macadamia nut pancakes with Portuguese sausage and fried eggs, and, kahlua pork fried rice with fried eggs. We had a side of fruit, which was hard to cut off the rinds when in a small bowl. The food overall was delicious and well presented. This was so good and they were quick! The line goes quickly so don't be afraid of the length. Once your order is in, you'll get your food within 10 minutes-ish. Friendly staff and very accommodating. The omelet was amazing with added spinach and their cheese sauce. My husband loved the fried rice so much. The French toast is made of Hawaiian bread and it makes it so unique and worth it. Anuenue Cafe is a decent place to get breakfast. The French Toast is topped with a cube of haupia, which is different. I don't think haupia is really necessary, so would have been fine without it. It was odd when the haupia melted over the eggs and Portuguese sausage that came with the French toast (1 star). We also got the Kalua Pork Fried Rice, which was pretty greasy (1 star off). I thought both entrees were okay, but nothing special. There are a few tables outside for seating; you may need to share with others. By others, I mean other humans and wild roosters. read more

Small establishment where you walk up to order. Friendly staff and quick turn around for food. There is one table in the outdoor area that seats 6 comfortably so be ready to eat with strangers - totally fine. The lemon curd fruit purée French toast was DELICIOUS, eggs and bacon prepared perfectly! Probably some of the best bacon I've ever had and I LOVE bacon. Would definitely recommend!!! My wife and I ordered the plain French toast. The lady taking the order was pleasant and quickly processed our order. It came quickly and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were cooked right and the thick bacon was good as well.....delicious breakfast! It was so good we went back 3 days later and got the coconut French toast which was delicious as well. Excellent breakfast spot offering a unique menu with a Hawaiian twist. The service is fast and friendly. We visited multiple days and tried most of the menu. Our favorite was the fried rice! Both the veggie and the pork versions are delicious. They also offer a set dinner menu Thursday through Sunday. We ordered this and took it back to our AirBnb patio; it was delicious and such a pleasant way to enjoy a dinner away from the crowds! I had the Loco Moco. The gravy was lighter than I've had before but very flavorful, the sautéed mushrooms really shined. The ground beef was served broken up not in a patty; it was flavorful, moist with great seasoning. Add in two eggs CTO and rice and this is a big plate! As mentioned in other reviews, the ordering system is out of the ordinary as you will be seated then told when to go inside to order your meal which is then prepaid. We were looking for a new breakfast place. We got there 15 minutes before it opened and there were 5 groups all ready waiting. As we got closer to 8am. Another dozen showed up in line. When they opened the line went fast and the food came out fast. There is no seating indoors, only one picnic table but a small park area in the mall that you can eat at. The food was very well done and good size servings. They use degradable containers for the food also. I now know why there is a line in the am! You will not be disappointed. The service is a 10. This place is really good. There are some things to be aware of, before you go, however. First, there is almost no place to sit. We got our food and just took it back to our lodging, but if you are expecting a nice sit down diner, this isn't it. Second, the food is really good. And while everything on the island is expensive, you get giant portions here. It's also really fast, you'll typically get your food in about five minutes. Third, a line forms pretty quickly after they open, so there may be a little wait. I definitely recommend this for breakfast. read more

It's a bit hard to find from a map because it's located inside a mall (which immediately worried me) but it's actually great. You are technically not supposed to sit until you order, and they do regulate this to keep the flow of things going (that way there aren't people holding tables that don't have food yet). We came in on a Monday around 9:00am. There was a 25 - 30 minute wait, but there are shops there to browse and the manager, Shyla and offered to fill up my coffee mug free. We shared the "Triple Crown." 2 eggs over easy the banana/macadamia pancakes and bacon. 1.) Pancakes were very disappointing. Could hardly taste the banana and it made the pancake 'doughy.' The Macadamia nuts on top were way to sweet. Like having pure brown sugar. I was famished and ate them, but sorry I did. My girlfriend said they tasted burnt. I didn't taste this. 2.) Bacon. NOT your mainland bacon. It was rather bland and tough. Ate only one and my gf wouldn't eat any of them. 3.) We asked for sugar-freee syrup, but Shane, our waitperson said they don't offer this. So diabetics, beware. With all the 5-star reviews I feel bad writing this review. I asked Shyla who owns this - and she said the cook in the back. I am sure you outcome will be better. Try it. Second time to Kauai but first time to Anuenue. This will be a stop for sure on our next trip. Soooooo good, qucik service and portions were really good sized. I got the Shark Omelet and my wife got the Avo Toast and both were very very good! Not a lot of places to sit right by the shop. They are currently open until 12:30, but say they're expanding on some nights for dinner. What sets them apart? Lots of things...the owners are visible, helpful and happy. It's obvious they like what they are doing. The servers help each other, joke around, are friendly and funny, and attentive. Then the food. Holy moly, the food. My husband had macadamia nut French toast, topped with hauipia (sp). My son had banana pancakes. I had Koloa pork. It was the right amount of protein to rice.
