I had my car impounded by Tempe police. Apache sands picked up my car on Saturday morning and per the courts I was able to pick it up Monday. Long story short, MVD has my legal last name, however the finance company has my previous last name when I was married. It took me 2 extra days to get my car out because the last name did not match, even though I had other proof of who I was. I could not change my last name with either place, as this was a legal last name change and I was no longer married. I finally had to get the police department involved to tell them to release my car, as they could not hold it any longer. To make matters worse, I had an extra cell phone in my car the day it was impounded and found it was stolen from my car. Given the headache I already had from them, I decided to "chuck it as a loss" as I knew they would come up with some "We are not responsible" BS. I will never use this company if I ever am in need of any kind of tow, and I hope I am never in a situation where it is picked up by them again. read more

Great job always getting here soon to replace dead batteries over the last couple of years. Last guy damaged my handbrake and Apache Sands agreed to pay my mechanic to repair it. This was much appreciated. One caveat: the towing manager might consider a better communication with customers than "don't worry about it we'll take care of it" which is patronizing to customers who have a right to know how the payment between mechanic and AS will work. read more

Had a uhaul rental today from apache sands today. I had the email confirmation, text, and phone call from them confirming my rental. I go to pick up my rental today from them at 09:00. They denied I had a rental, lied to the uhaul rep on the phone that I had a reservation confirmation after I showed Vance. I asked are any trailers, trucks available Vance said "not for you". My pregnant wife had just dropped me off, and is sick and I asked if I could be dropped off at the next closest location that had one available. Vance Devonport who is the uhaul supervisor there said no I don't have time, laughed about it and went on to help the next customer in line. I called my wife to pick me up from inside the shop, I was speaking to her in Spanish, Vance commented to me "all Muslims need to go back to syria" I said I'm not muslim I'm Mexican, he then said "go back to Mexico you wet back". It is memorial day weekend, my only day off, and I'm a United States Veteran. The level of customer service I received here was gross, uncalled for and obnoxious. I had need of a tow the other day, and my insurance company called this company. The time was set for them to be at my location at 09:15. I called to verify as per my insurance and was told yep!. I was also sent a text verifying as well as giving me the position of the wrecker, which showed on the map, about 5 miles from my location. To make a long story short, the tow arrived 1 hour later, and up until I called and asked what was going on, the wrecker that I saw on the map never moved... Used the company through Geico. I was given an ETA of an hour and I got a call about 20 mins later letting me know he was 10 minutes away. My driver arrived and asked what was wrong (my battery died). He quickly offered to jump start it. It worked for a bit and he offered to let me drive it but I said I wasn't sure as I was afraid it would turn off. He quickly got my car onto his truck and off we went. He was extremely professional and friendly. We made small talk to pass the time. Truck was also very clean, I might add. The driver asked it we wanted to meet at the auto repair place and we said no follow us, after we already established that. My odometer said it took 8.2 miles and iPhone maps says it was 8.4 miles away. Yet the driver insisted it took 9.2 miles. First 5 miles is free with AAA. So it should have been an extra 4 miles. $20. So he robbed me of $5 and lied that it took an extra mile. Very shady I'll never recommend your company to anyone!! read more

If I could rate zero stars I would. My daughter was in an accident and Mesa PD called Apache Sands Towing. The tow truck driver was awesome. She was very caring and understanding. This is where great service ended. Drove to the office to pay impound fees. Paid fees and was told my vehicle would be towed out for pick up shortly. They towed my vehicle to the side of there lot and parked it in front of another vehicle. In the mean time, the vehicle that was parked behind mine needed to be towed. This resulted in me having to move my vehicle. I inquired where my bumper was, as the tow driver had loaded it on the truck and brought it with her since it was in one piece. I had I initially inquired about it when my vehicle was brought out. The guy said he had to check. I returned to the office and they told me it had been thrown away. Another man left to check and soon returned to tell me that my bumper was by my car and that I needed to move it because I was taking one of his spaces. Well, yeah I was because the other vehicle had to be moved. They were HORRIBLE. USE SOMEONE ELSE! I was treated as if I was a criminal! read more

I have used this place for the last 10 years for towing and auto detailing for all my vehicles. NEVER AGAIN Today I was treated so terribly by your employee working at the impound. He had an attitude from the beginning by being very rude I provided the paperwork and he literally threw one of the papers back at me rudely saying "I don't need that" I asked him if we could look at the car and he told me that only I could go back there but NOT my husband after we forked out almost $300 cash. He NEVER allowed me to look at the car and he made me sign a paper that I received the car in satisfactory condition and I never got to see the car. He was very hesitant to give me the owners name and laughed at us and asked my husband to leave his office when we told him we were going to make complaint. I lost my mom suddenly to cancer January this year and to be treated like this while trying to get her car was just wrong. Your employee has zero compassion and no customer service skills. I went way off my beaten path to use their self serve car wash. Many of the neighborhood car washes out there just don't advertise or even have listings because, well, they are a neighborhood thing. This one had a listing on google maps, due to it being much more than a car wash and since there were photos, I was able to determine if I could wash my RV there. It has one 13' high bay which was ideal height. I had to wait for it, but fully expected that, and once I got in, I had it for two hours (since nobody was there waiting, I took advantage of it). The wash bay takes credit cards, and stops at $10 so you know how much you've spent by then... It was a little nebulous as to how much time you get for a buck, but not a big deal. The only issues I had was the hoses were a bit short to wash a 35 foot class A without moving it back and forth a couple of times, and no sign stating how many minutes per dollar. It would have been ideal for a 25' or shorter coach. They also had a decent propane station and fuel so this is a good place to do several RV related things in one place. read more

They are AAA rated, but are way over-priced, and one of the service personnel behind the counter was sarcastic to me when I told him I found someone to do the work for almost half the price of what they wanted to charge me. Very bad company to go to for anything! I tried renting a uhual truck from Apache sands and had THE most horrible experience in my life. First off I was told the truck was gonna be $19.95 a day! It ended up being $39.95. Then after doing the walk around I point out all the dings on the truck to make sure I don't get charged for damages that were already there. Mark seems to get mad at me for pointing them out..like WTF. I brush it off and decided to rent anyway. Upon returning the truck Mark tried charging my for damages I pointed out when I rented the Da#m truck!! In conclusion don't go there for ANYTHING they are rip offs. read more

First off before I rip into this shop let me say the people are nice. Very friendly bunch. However they are incompetent and not straight forward. I took my truck in because my check engine light was on and my radiator was clogged. Without going into detail of all my pain. I spent $2000 on new radiator, fuel injectors and to fix 1 engine cylinder. It took them 3 weeks. The first week they kinda fixed it and then I had it for 1 day and took it back because the check engine light came back on. After two more weeks without a car I got my truck back. The check engine light came back on after 2 days and I decided to just deal with it. Even though I could of taken my truck back for a 3 try I just cut my losses and could not deal with them again. The reason for this review is to tell everyone what happens when you go to a competent shop. About a year later I took my truck to a different shop, http://www.greulichs.com/. I had the same issue with my check engine light. They told me up front how tricky it was to fix a miss firing cylinder. I left the truck with them. They took a look and called me. Told me two cylinders are not firing at all. Told me it would take 3 days. 3 days later I got my truck back as good as new. They replaced 2 of the new fuel injectors (had gone bad because of the poor install from Apache), replace the radiator hoses (Apache installed a new radiator but did not replace the hoses, crazy), machined the cylinders and replaced all the needed parts. Got my truck back in 3 days. Very happy with Greulichs in North Phoenix. I basically paid two shops to fix the same problem. First shop failed and second shop was fantastic. read more

I dropped off our churches Ford F450 15 passenger van / bus for a check engine light. Where I was told in there defense labor is $75 for the first hour and $115 an hour for each additional hour . I agreed thinking they would have the problem solved and fixed well within the couple of hours quoted. Later that day they called and had some what diagnosed the problems but did not feel they could fix the the issues that were causing the check engine light and we should take the van to someplace better qualified. That is fine but when I received the bill for $205 I told them that I was upset to be charged that much to tell us that they were not capable of fixing the problems. They said well we have all this time in it and that is what we charge ( I can not see where it should have taken a experienced technician more than a 1/2 hour to see that he did not want to fix the problems.) After discussing the issue they waived the shop service fee of $15 which reduced the bill to $195. I am still very upset that we were charged $195 to tell us they were not Qualified. Where is the value for us in their service? In my 60 years of doing business this is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a bad review read more

Completely rude staff. I was in a car accident the day before. The officer that arrived to the scene called them to get my car. The guy who showed up to tow my car was actually pretty nice. But the people in the office are another story. I couldn't get to them till almost 4:45pm (because they are so far out there!). The very rude worker informed me that If it took him until 5 to get my info and whatnot that they would charge me a $46 fee to get items from my car, which would've taken me 2 seconds. Unfortunately I had left my registration in the car. The guy took his sweet time getting it, resulting in him not returning till almost 4:55. My registration had lapsed 6 days prior to this (which I was going to renew the night I got in the accident). But of course since they had been expired for 6 days the extremely rude man in the office would not let me get anything out of my car. Sadly my car is a total loss. My insurance is going to be selling it for scraps. He told me to pay for my tags on my total loss of a car and then maybe I could get my stuff. Who is going to renew their tags on a totaled out car? Since I now no longer have a car, I couldn't afford it if I wanted to. I have never been treated so badly or rudely. They should look into hiring employees that don't have power trip issues. If I could I would give 0 stars and tell you to call ANYONE else to tow your vehicle. I was in a car accident and the police on scene called to have my car towed. When I called to come get it I was told I had to pay for my towing even though my insurance covers ALL my tows. The lady I spoke with proceeded to call me a liar and REFUSED to send the bill to my insurance. I then called my insurance company to see if I was wrong, however they then offered to call for me because in fact, the do pay for all my tows. My insurance called them and called me back to tell me how horrible their service was and apologized that I had to deal with that. Luckily my insurance will reimburse me, however the staff here is the worst I have ever dealt with and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone I would have rather pushed my car myself to any other place. read more

I've used this self car wash because it has a high profile stall and I don't want to lose the air conditioner on my grooming van. They charge $2.00 per 4 minutes. Usually takes $8.00 for a basic wash. As soon as I pulled in, a young man in a golf cart came over and asks if I'm planning on dumping my tank. I said no. He says some do. I said even if I was , there'd be nothing wrong with it. That's where the manufacturer suggests we let our water go. He tells me it has to be dumped in an rv dump. I informed him that there is no sewage at all. All it is is plain water that a dog was washed with. I water my plants with it. The stupid kid then proceeded to sit there and watch me. Then he drove around to the other side to sit in the shade to watch. I finally told him he was wasting time as I didn't even have any water in the tank. I hadn't started working yet. I was dumbfounded at how rude this was and will now look for a new place to wash my van. They probably ought to watch the motor homes instead. The drains had rusty soda cans, wheels, and all sorts of trash clogging them up. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I had my vehicle towed to Apache Sands (thought I would take advantage of my AAA discount as I am a premier member). To make a long story short they quoted me a price of $1400.00 for parts and labor. My vehicle is a 2006 with over 130K miles. When you start looking at a repair bill of $1400.00 for a vechile that is paid for you have to weigh your options, keep the vehicle and get the repair done or let the vehicle go. I elected to keep my vehicle and took it to antoher repair shop. The vehicle got fixed for a total of $120.00 less than 10% of what Apache Sands wanted to rip me off for. Please excuse the one star rating; I would have given them less than that if possible! read more
