hmm this is a tough one. it took me a while to identify the issues i had because while it tasted good, it almost tasted like a heavily seeded bread vs an actual bagel. i also think my everything bagel was overcooked and slightly burned, because although it had the maximum amount of seasoning it surprisingly had so little flavor and taste. the outside was very crispy and crunchy (almost too much so that my mouth kinda got shredded) the inside was very fresh and chewy, but i didn't get that sourdough flavor i was expecting. the cream cheese and lox were high quality, but i will note that i asked for extra cream cheese and the amount was adequate. so if you are used to typical amounts of cream cheese by nyc standards you should probably should ask for extra. all in all decent, with friendly service and the line moved pretty quick, but probably won't be back as I don't think it can't compare to other bagel places like pop up or brooklyn bagel. read more

I thought this was just going to be another overhyped bagel place in New York. Came at 1 PM on a Sunday and waited 45 minutes. This tomato bagel was amazing. My friend had the same bagel and she said it was very good as well. The chili bagel is only seven dollars. I think the same one is like five dollars more. Honestly I would wait 45 minutes again but by the time we walked past around 3:30pm there wasn't really much of a line anymore. They close at 5 PM so maybe don't go too late but does seem like the move is to go after the brunch crowd dies down if you don't want to wait. There was no seating inside so be prepared to get takeout and find another place to eat it. We also got Starbucks across the street so was able to eat there, but it was pretty crowd with other people who had the same idea so have a back up place. read more

Really unique texture/flavor with their sourdough bagels, crusty outside with chewy inside and a little tang from the sourdough. I got the open-faced lox bagel on everything, while my friend opted for a bagel with their vegan cream cheese (great if you are lactose intolerant). The toppings were super fresh, flavorful and generous portion! We ate outside at the nearby park as it's more of a counter spot for pick-up (not much seating). Finally tried the famous Apollo Bagels! Let me tell you the line is long! However it goes bu fairly quickly (~20 mins). I would come with a friend, so one of you can stay in line while the other grabs coffee or a smoothie nearby. It's in a great location and a short walk to the hudson. We ordered their salmon sandwich on an Everything Bagel. I'm not a big fan of lox, but it was delicious and beautifully made. I do want to try their jam and butter sandwich next time! I have had a lot of bagels in NYC and I can honestly say there is something so special about these bagels. Came to nyc for the first time and coming to Apollo was a MUST on my to do list. Arriving to Apollo I was shocked to see the line outside as there were so many people waiting on a Sunday morning. However, the wait wasn't too bad as me and my friends waited about 30 minutes before ordering. Once we ordered, my friend also got an orange juice along with her order which they actually squeeze FRESH oranges in house for the juice! I really enjoyed that aspect and the customer service was very easy and friendly. Getting our food we were NOT disappointed as the sourdough bread made the bagels taste very clean and the tomatoes were super fresh. I normally cannot eat a lot in the morning, but for once my plate was cleared in one sitting for breakfast. Love this place and if I visit nyc again, I'll be coming here more often. read more

I almost skipped Apollo after seeing the long line. A few minutes later the line disappeared so I entered the building. It wasn't clear where the line began once inside. Ordered an everything with cream cheese and tomato. Thought it would be a while judging from the throngs that were ahead of me in line as well as those who had already ordered. Amazingly I heard my name called in less than five minutes. Bagel was chewy but delicious. Was happy to eat alone in the park since it was so messy.
