This place is horrendous! I needed a new central air conditioning unit for my home so I decided to put my trust into Apple Air and let me just start by saying that this is probably the worst decision I have ever made. Turns out that one of the workers here messed up so bad that it lead to an awful leak in my ceiling that had lead to serious water damage. After I contacted the people at Apple Air they said they would come in the next day to asses the damages and didn't end coming over till the week after. The service here was terrible and although the people were somewhat understanding and nice it still doesn't make up for the horrible service and experience I had with this place. Update 4/11/26: On April 9, Apple Air's technicians identified a bad upstairs condenser inverter, a bad mister unit, drywall damage next to the first-floor air handler, and an obstructed upstairs breaker/disconnect that they said could be relocated. Mr. Costa then stated he would review the findings the next day and follow up immediately. That follow-up did not occur. The matter remains unresolved. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Apple Air honestly felt predatory and fear-based, and other homeowners deserve a heads-up. This winter has been brutally cold, and like many people, we started having trouble keeping our home warm. We recently bought the house and suspected either the system was undersized or something was malfunctioning, so we called Apple Air to diagnose the issue. First visit: They told us everything looked fine and blamed some snow/ice buildup. Fair, that sounded reasonable. Four days later: The system could barely heat the house even during the day, so we called them back. The second technician immediately started throwing out worst-case scenarios before even properly inspecting anything. First, he claimed our heat strips were running constantly instead of the heat pump, which we later verified was not true. Then he said we had a refrigerant leak. His "solution" was to fully recharge the system with 3 lbs of refrigerant ($350/lb) before even searching for the leak. That made no logical sense to me. Why refill something just to let it leak out again? Next, he suggested perhaps just replacing the entire unit and quoted us $25,000. Then he backtracked after I told him 25k is just way too much, and said repairs might be all-in $5-6k. I asked him if we're leaking refrigerant, why is it still working? Why do I have heat sometimes still? How much longer does he think we have? He said we might only have 4-5 days of heat left. The whole visit felt like a rotating list of expensive, fear-based upsells rather than a clear diagnosis. The numbers kept changing and nothing felt confident. At that point, I just asked for the quotes so I could get him out of the house. We ended up calling 24/7 HVAC Local of Long Island instead and had a completely different experience. They were honest, straightforward, and actually focused on solving the problem rather than selling the most expensive option. Oh and, nothing was wrong with the unit. The problem is that it's a Fujitsu finicky system that's underspecc'd for the home we live in. So it's going to have a hard time heating up. He gave us recommendations to help survive this brutal winter and we've been good since. Do not go with Apple Air. Save your money, go somewhere else. read more

Worst HVAC company. Run before using Apple AC. I had 6 month ni splits installed in 2019 for 25k. They advised me I did Not need a permit. The village shut the job down in the summer. I had to file permit and was fined 4k. The job wasn't complete until winter. The next year not working. Leaking free on Apple charged me 1k. The following year the same problem, I called a different HVAC company another 1k for free on. The contractor advised me the problem was with the Chinese line sets that get tiny holes in the copper pipes. They should have used the more expensive American line sets. He advised me 6k to fix it. I called Ape AC furious, the managers came and said they would fix the Linesets, but asked me to remove the bad review. I did Not. Last year 2025 I installed new window and top floor tenant felt a draft the window installer showed me how Apple Ac broke a buck under the outdoor piping and put putty to hide it. I have been calling Michael Grim at Apple to fix it since April. read more

When I discovered a wet carpet in my downstairs bedroom I called Apple Air Heating Cooling Electric and Plumbing, in Farmingdale, NY. They had a 4.8 star rating from over 5 thousand customers so I trusted them. Christian diagnosed the problem quickly. He said it was much worse than he first thought. He said it was a very big job and because sewage was leaking into my basement it should be repaired ASAP. I was so scared that getting a second opinion didn't cross my mind. Christian said 4 plumbers would work a day to day and a half to finish the job, which would cost $13,500. They offered financing for 2 years which I accepted. Before Christian left, and before any work was done, he gave me a QR code and asked me to give him an excellent review so that he could get a $50 bonus. I complied. Now I understand how they got a 4.8 star rating. Since then I did some checking, this company has a D- rating from BBB and 2.1 stars on Yelp. In hindsight I would have given them 0 stars. One plumber and a helper fixed the leak in one day, but broke my toilet and the over the toilet storage cabinet. They replaced the toilet with a much bigger one, too big for the space. Christian said they would install a correct toilet at a later time. He has not addressed the replacement of the storage cabinet. I told Christian that I must have been overcharged for the job, since it was done by 2 people, not four. He said what's the difference as long as the leak was fixed. But, it does make a difference. Do they charge a minimum of $1,000/hour for labor, when the standard is $250/hour/plumber? My insurance company is requesting an itemized invoice for work done. Apple Air's invoice simply states $13,500. This is not acceptable to the insurance company, or to me. Christian said his boss, Sean, would provide an itemized bill, but that was just a stalling tactic. I never received an itemized bill and Sean and Christian are not responding to my messages. This company has taken advantage of me, a woman who is also a senior citizen. They scared me into hiring them to do the job for an exorbitant amount of money ($560/month for the next 24 months). They are not responding to my requests for an itemized bill (probably because they can't explain how they arrived at $13,500), and replacing the cabinet which they broke. Christian admitted to me that they charge a few thousands more than their competitors because they guarantee their work and offer financing which no one else does. He would not entertain a refund of overcharged monies. Before hiring this company, beware and always get a second opinion. Don't do business with companies that pressure you into hiring them. read more

Very disappointed AC service The Technician opened and checked units, looked things over, and charged us an inspection/service fee. However, no actual repair work was performed and the original issue remained. After the inspection, we were told that the units were in bad condition and that replacement could cost to $20,000 and more... waste our time! The technicians were very sloppy and dropped tools down the stairs, including a power drill. Not professional. My conversation with the office rep was also substandard. I do not recommend. read more

Technician was very good and very professional but that's where it ended. He sold me the maintenance plan along with a costly repair but three weeks later no return to repair. Have called the office numerous times to check on status and while very friendly no-one seemed to know what was going on, no-one ever ever returned a phone call. I am a patient person but my patience ran out. When I called to cancel, no apology for the inconvenience and apparently no notes on my file about anything. I opened a ticket for a gas odor coming out of my unit. Your dispatch called back and told me I needed to call National Grid. They already came out and said to have it repaired. Micheal your manager is playing with people lives by having the dispatcher reroute this call. A formal complaint will follow. I won't risk it based on the two stars your company has. read more

I called Apple Air and Heating after my boiler threw an error code 23 and stopped producing hot water. Kyle came out, diagnosed the issue quickly, and replaced the faulty part. What impressed me most was that he took the time to explain exactly what was happening and why the part failed - he was genuinely educational about the whole process, not just there to swap parts and leave. Kyle was on time, professional, and worked efficiently. The entire job took about 30-45 minutes, and the boiler has been running perfectly since. Even better, there was no charge for the service call or repair. Before he left, Kyle reminded me to call anytime if I had questions or concerns. That kind of follow-through matters. They charged me just to come look at it and then told me the compressor was bad. They said they would get a new compressor but that I had to pay for the work. They acknowledged it was under warranty being only a year old, but they wouldn't cover the labor. I got another company to come and they said compressor was fine and the unit needed to be reprogrammed. It was worked ever since. These guys are crooks and they don't stand by their work. Called Apple on Wednesday 12/3/25, scheduled a tech to look at my leaking Bosch Combi Boiler. Showed tech where water was coming from (water inlet manifold). Said he was going to his vehicle to write it up. Came back after 10 mins. stated he gave the information to the office and they would get back to me tomorrow with an estimate for repair. Paid technician $135 for service call. It is now Thursday at 12 noon, still haven't heard so I called and found out that after I sign the estimate just sent me it would be 5 to 7 days to order the part and then they would schedule an install. My boiler is down totally NO HEAT OR HOT WATER. 5 to 7 days are you kidding!!! Oh, BTW the parts costs $100 and their estimate was $3200. Be Aware!!! Be aware of Apple Air in Farmingdale. They quoted me $7000 to fix a mini-split ductless ac unit. I just got it fixed by L. Graziose Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling for $1200. Someone else was quoted over $16,000 by Apple to replace a "shot" ac system in their house. They called someone else and it was repaired in ten minutes by replacing an $80 part. read more

We had them come to repair our ductless system - they charged us an exorbitant amount to add refrigerant with dye to identify the leak, and apparently, the dye voids the Mitsubishi warranty. They then told us that repairing the line with the leak in it would cost $7000. We have now been told by other hvac Companies that because dye was added, it can't be repaired and we will have to replace the entire system. read more

We purchased a maintenance contract and were told in April that the technician would be here today (June 12th). We received a confirmation text on Friday. Today, I called early morning to confirm technician ETA. I was told they can come Thursday (I took day off for this service appointment). I asked to speak with someone who could get a tech out today as Thursday I'm an not home. The service dispatch manager called me back stating a tech would be out to us between 11AM - 4PM. We called at 4:45PM (no show, no call) for an ETA. The message service said they would escalate and have someone call me back. No one called. We called again at 5:45PM. Another stated they would have the tech call me with an arrival ETA. It's now 6:45PM. No call. I blame myself. I should have performed my due diligence and looked at their Yelp ratings before signing a contract with them. Many have complained of similar poor service. Needless to say, even if they do call, I'm not letting them in my home. Wasted day off. Wasted money on useless contract. Lesson learned. On a positive side, this experience has allowed me to practice my joyous attitude during trials and patience overall. My Christian walk has improved. read more

The techs are good. Their work is fine. The problem is they give you a time that they'll be at your house say between 8-12 and come by hours after their estimate. This has happened numerous times. When I call it's just a run around. I've been using Apple for years and this has gotten worse. Got a call at 8:30 pm saying a tech will be by between 8-10am. So far a no show and it's after 1pm. I've spent a lot of money with apple over the years and are obviously just a number to them. If you give me a time of arrival honor it or just say we'll get there when we get there because that's what they do anyway. Very disappointed still waiting......... read more

Apple started well. I'm not sure what happened over the past two years but the customer service has tanked. There's a call company now uses a third party call service which I hate. I do not like not being able to directly contact companies I do business with. Additionally last year they automatically charged my credit card for annual contracts annual contract WITHOUT my knowledge or approval. I called them up and yelled at some guy. Told him to remove my card from the file and not to do that again. Today I have now called TWICE just to get an ETA on the tech coming and STILL no answer from the company. I want to thank John from Apple A/C for finally getting my issue resolved and my unit is finally working on May 22nd. I found it funny that warranty work on a 2 yr old unit cost me $2700.00 for the compressor and TXV. Kyle (technician) was very professional and courteous and I highly recommend him. I don't understand how they don't reuse the reclaimed refrigerant. They recycle it but it should be replaced back into the unit. They "fixed" one outlet (for $800) that broke the next day and now they won't answer me. They have good google reviews because the technician forces you to write one and stands over you while you do.
