an incredibly cute bakery ran by such a sweet woman! this place is a must visit if you're in julian, you can't miss it. the pie is wonderfully made, i got the strawberry rhubarb pie and it was incredibly delicious especially for a sunny day like this! the ambiance of the bakery itself is just lovely as well, its extremely homey and sure to make you feel comfortable immediately as you walk in highly, highly recommend!

Visited this place over the weekend - it was very hot in Julian and many of the locations we visited did not have AC. We did some diligence on what location in Julian has the best pie. This location came in at second place for the apple pie with caramel and pecans - based on reviews from multiple websites. We had a slice with ice cream. It was very good. We will be back next time in the area. The associate that served us was friendly as well.

This caramel apple pecan pie is going to be delightful for the holidays

OK, I think at this point everybody knows that Julie has the best apple pies, ever! Let me tell you something they have Julian pie company. Yes, they do have mom's pie company, but this pie company apple Alley bakery. There was a little bit of a line, not more than 20 minutes. Wait we were able to get four of the crumble apple pies, and one of their crumble pecan apple pie. Freeze it for the holidays. OMG ! So good y'all! Don't wait in the three hour line at Julian go get your pies at Apple Alley bakery right down the street in Julian I gave one of the pies away last night as a gift as we were coming home, and someone said it was simply orgasmic

Apple Alley Bakery is a traditional feeling small-town restaurant that may not be as well known as Mom's or the Julian Apple Company but has at its heart, pies and cookies that are seriously awesome. We shared a lunch special that included a soup, chips, and turkey sandwich. The turkey sandwich was neatly made and neatly cut in half for us and although the staff did not have to, we were provided us with an extra bag of chips. I can't stop thinking about the homemade tomato soup which was incredible as it tasted more like a tomato bisque soup without retaining too much of a bisque's thicker texture. We also got the boysenberry apple crumb pie which we absolutely loved and thought was better than the apple pies we tried around town! Not only does the pie have a good amount of crunch, the sweetness is more subtle and the pie tasted freshly made. Another highlight was the molasses cookie which, to be frank, was the BEST molasses cookie we've ever had. It's hard to explain why as I would say it does not retain the typically strong profile of molasses while retaining just the right amount of flavor and sweetness. The owner, Lisa is also incredibly friendly and kind and makes you feel right at home when you enter. She really made us feel really welcome. We also enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space in the alley to which this restaurant includes. So when you're ever in Julian, don't skip Apple Alley Bakery - you won't regret it!

Their gluten free pie- 10/10 no notes. The ice cream is the perfect level of creaminess. Will be back to Julian just for the pie!

This place is amazing. We showed up late as they were closing and all the other pie shops had closed. Lisa let us in and took care of us with the best Julian apple pie with a scoop of ice cream. I highly recommend Apple Alley Bakery when you visit Julian. You can not regret it! Tell Lisa hi

What a cute little place for the area's specialty, Apple pie. They offer different varieties of apples pies. Regular, caramel with walnuts, mango apple pie etc..... We selected the caramel walnut apple pie and a cup of coffee to go with our afternoon snack. It was so good especially with the melted vanilla ice cream with it. The lady at the service counter was so friendly and made you feel at home. Didn't get a chance to try their lunch specials but definitely will come back for it.

Randomly got told by a local walking by to go try a piece of pie here and it was the best piece of advice...and pie! We got the Apple Carmel pecan with vanilla ice cream on the side and whoaaaa! Yum. Yum. Yum. They also had the cutest little side alley with small tables to sit outside under the apple trees. Adorable. Lisa was the sweetest lady, appreciated her good mood and smile! :)

Shorter lines and delicious pies! The caramel apple pie is the way to go! Best when heated up.

Great service! The lunch special was reasonably priced. Half sandwich, bowl of soup or salad and a slice of pie for under $20.00. The homemade wheat bread was soft, warm slightly sweet thick sliced bread. The bacon potato soup was delicious!! I dug into my food before I got a picture. Now waiting on our pie and ice cream. Only down side, all places you visit here you have to use the restrooms behind the Town hall. With all tourists the plumping can't handle it in the old buildings.

This is hands down the best spot for pie in Julian. Having tried all the pie spots in Julian, none of them come close to taste and consistency than this place. There are plenty of seating options both indoor and outdoor. This is a family owned business so love to support them. My most favorite pie is the boysenberry apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. But the k recently tried the mango apple and it was so delicious!!

This hidden gem is my favorite pie shop on Julian's Main Street. It definitely gets overshadowed by the larger establishments. It's a little spot with an appropriate name. Just a few tables inside and a small counter to order from. But it has my favorite pie from julian and the only one I even bother to buy a whole one of. Their caramel apple pecan pie is my absolute fave. The glazed/toasted pecan and caramel do not overpower, but they add enough flavor and texture to an otherwise plain apple pie. Husband enjoys the boysenberry apple crumble pie, which is also a WiN. Like other pie shops, they off huge scoops of vanilla or cinnamon ala mode as well. They also offer sandwiches and other baked goods here too... I seriously wanna gatekeep on this location hahaha they honestly do have my favorite pie from Julian. But there you go, I'll go ahead and share it.

This place has THE best Caramel Apple Pecan pie!! It sounds "sweet", but it has the correct balance of the sweet. Every time I visit Julian, I try to buy this pie. I'm sure all the other pies are outstanding too, but my favorite is the Caramel Apple Pecan pie. Sad news...rumor has it that the owner is retiring and is selling the business. I hope the new owner retains the original recipes for the outstanding pies.

Do they deliver to different parts of states?

I see vegan pies but do they have gluten-free pies?

Yes they have delicious gluten free pies. They sell fast. You may have to order ahead on holidays. They also have gluten free bread for sandwiches.

What sort of vegan options are there? Is there vegan ice cream, or just pie?

They have a good assortment of vegan pies. Not sure about the ice cream but who needs ice cream when the pie is so good. Although vegan cinnamon ice cream would be amazing using oat milk. They have Vegan cookies too= highly recommend the pie crust…

We already got our pie fix at Mom's, but made this our last stop before heading out. I couldn't stop just standing there sipping my hot cider while waiting for our to go items to be prepared. We got two apple cider donuts, one cinnamon sugar and one chocolate dipped. Long ago, I tried these tiny heart shaped pie crust cookies covered in cinnamon and sugar - Apple Memories! These are crisp tiny bites of love that you want to take home every single time! There are actually two buildings. One where you can grab a bite to eat, the other has all the merchandise, and both have whole frozen pies to grab to go! The building where you can dine has a small inside dining area, it can get cozy in there, but on a chilly day, that is exactly what you want! Just outside there is plenty of room outdoors to enjoy the scenery. In the merchandise building I couldn't help myself... we took home a whole gallon of apple cider, and also bought a jar of Cinnamon Apple Honey Spread and a jar of Apple butter... absolute yum! The hubs also decided to try the apple cinnamon chapstick! Yes, you can grab one of these famous pies at many different establishments throughout San Diego. To make name a few, Iowa Farms, Spring Valley Market, Siesel's and even at Vons! But if you're in Julian, don't forget to try a pie, grab some Apple Memories, and don't forget to bring a hot thermos to take that hot Apple cider to go! Enjoy!!! Simply the Best! That said, I do want to clarify that, from what I observed, we were not the last table to be seated. I understand it was a busy Fourth of July, and I know everyone can make mistakes. My disappointment wasn't because of the wait alone--it was because my order was incorrect multiple times, and I was eventually asked again what I had ordered even though it was just biscuits and gravy. By the time my food finally arrived, the experience had already been affected. I don't expect perfection, especially on a busy holiday. I simply shared my honest experience and hope it helps improve service for future guests. -------------------- We ordered our food and my friend received her meal, but my order of biscuits and gravy didn't come out correctly. The server acknowledged the mistake, saying it was her fault and that she would get it fixed right away. Unfortunately, the wrong order was brought out, and the staff had to come back and ask what I had originally ordered. It was a simple order--just biscuits and gravy--so it was frustrating that it was difficult to get right. When the correct food finally arrived, the experience had already been delayed and a bit discouraging. At that point, I was honestly just over it, especially when I was asked if I wanted a box, as if we were finished. Overall, the food was fine once it arrived, but the service experience that day was disorganized and left a negative impression.

Maggie misses the fresh baked fruit bars and were soft and full of sweet fruit flavor.  Cashier told us they are only baked on Saturday now.  We touched the fruit bars and they were all hard from sitting around half the week.  It's sad as we loved stopping here after a trip to Julian for fresh baked treats and Doc Brown's Root Beer.  Looks like we will have to buy all our baked treats at one of the Julian bakeries like Apple Alley that bakes their pies every morning.  https://www.hungryones.com/2021/10/apple-alley-bakery/ Staff was nice and efficient.

The sandwiches were also very good, though the Ruben could have used a tad more sauerkraut to balance the flavors. The fries on their own are double fried or battered (or something along those lines) and have an incredible crunchy texture!
