I used to go here all the time for nearly two years - until recently. A couple months ago, the man that gave me a manicure cut my cuticle and made me bleed. Figuring everyone is human, I overlooked the mistake. Last weekend I went in for a mani-pedi and the same man CUT MY FINGER AGAIN. This time I bled for 15 minutes. His excuse: "You have dry nails." Man, I really wanted to like this place. It's right across the street from my office, so on my lunch break I walked over to get a Valentine's Day manicure. I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to manis and pedis. I don't care very much about the experience as long as my nails look good when I leave. Unfortunately, this is not the case. First of all, my thumbnail (just one) looks... very Quasimoto. It's oblong shaped. I asked her to fix it when she was filing, which she sort of did, but now I can see that it's still more octagonal than a normal nail. So that's kind of a bummer. Secondly, she painted on the cuticle (which she didn't cut very well), which I think looks terrible. Now I have a reservoir of nail polish at the bottom of each nail. Third, despite using the remover paintbrush at the end, there's still nail polish all over my fingers. It looks like some kid did it who couldn't color inside the lines. I could have done a better job myself, quite honestly, and I have a tremor. It's a shame, I would have liked to have discovered a new lunchtime pit stop, but sadly, I won't be returning. read more

I was looking for a nail salon driving down Sunset Boulevard and came across this one. I walked in requesting a foot massage and pedicure and they assigned Susan to me. She gave me the best deep foot massage I have ever had. As for the pedicure, she was on point; very tentative, making sure to remove all the dead skin without hurting me and shaped my nails to my request. So, I have two go-to places for quick and cheap mani-pedi's. This is one of them. The other is Elle Nail Spa on Beverly. This place is pretty good. It's always very clean and nicer than some of the other cheap nail salons. Parking is included and you can get a manicure and a spa pedicure for $28. The pedicures are always pretty nice, but sometimes I have a problem with the manicures. They don't always pay a ton of attention when they're filing and I feel like I have to ask them to correct it a lot. There also always seem to be a lot of bubbles in theclear coat because they put too much on and they don't look as good and don't hold up as well. Beware of the up-sell. They will ask you halfway through if you want something else... like "do you want me to massage your legs?" So, a leg massage is part of the pedicure, but apparently you can pay extra to have it done a little longer. There's a language barrier there so you don't always understand if they're just being polite and trying to make conversation or tryng to sell you something else that you may or may not want. All of that said, I still continue to come here once every couple of months. read more

Got me eyelash extensions done by Patricia today and I absolutely love them and her!!! I wanted my lashes to be very full and she was really able to created the exact look I desired. You feel so comfortable with her and she really takes her time and my eyelashes always come out great. It's the third time I get them done here because they last for such a long time but most importantly they don't brake my natural lashes. I came here to get my lashes done with Patricia after my friend recommended her. Before we started she asked me what look I was going for and then recommended the style I should get. I wanted a natural look so decided to go with the classic. She absolutely slayed my lashes!!! They're light weight and I can't even tell they are there. I've had lashes done in the past that I was ready to rip out almost immediately, but these are beautiful and don't irritate my eyelids. Worst gel manicure i have ever gotten in my entire life (and I've gotten plenty). The nails were not shaped well or evenly to begin with. I don't even think she filed them after cutting. Then she put the gel polish on super thinly with a brush dipped in alcohol rather than the regular brush in the bottle, claiming this method would make it last longer. WRONG - several of my nails were chipped within a few days. And the overall finish just looked bad... not shiny like usual with gel/shellac. WASTE of money. Also the "massage" i paid $10 extra for was complete bullshit and really just was uncomfortable. Would've been nice if it was neck/shoulders... but she just tortured my arms and i couldn't wait for it to be over. Overall a regretful experience. read more

However I did not give them the 5 stars because when new customers come in they try to finish you up quickly so they can get to the new customers. I never write reviews but I had a great experience and promised I would, so here it is! I was just down the street and decided to walk in after reading other reviews. I was seated right away and my nail lady (Sierra, I believe?) really took her time with my nails and did a wonderful job and exactly the design I asked for! I loved that it didn't feel rushed unlike my usual nail salon where I'm in and out in 20 min. I felt taken care of and all the ladies were super sweet. Came in today to meet a friend while she was getting her nails done. They asked if I wanted a manicure and pedicure and I said I would take a pedicure. The technician work quickly and seemed friendly but did not do a very good job in the slightest. She gave me a callus removal which was only moderately decent at best. The total bill was $28... Then... They charge a dollar to pay with a credit card... Then, they don't take tips on card... She did offer that I walked around the corner and pay four dollars for an ATM fee... $29 mediocre pedicure leaves me with a notion to not return and leave an appropriate review. Little did I know, that my nails would start peeling three days after my manicure and be flaking completely off by the sixth day. After stiffing myself on the spa treatment and going to the "hole in the wall" places more than a few times I started to develop fungus and a lot of skin on my feet from always being barefoot. Suzanne took her time and cleaned out the fungus and excess skin and massaged my feet & neck to a balanced state. Definitely better than any ortho visit. I come here all the time, probably once a month. I get my face waxed and recently I added eyelash extensions to the list! Yesterday I got a mani pedi here for the first time and everyone was so nice and made me very comfortable. I am at the point where I just say hi and she knows exactly how I want to be waxed. Still not good. I went in this place on Friday to get mani done since I was desprate. And I was like can I get mani and pedi. Mind you only three people in the shop. The same guy looked at me and said no we are full. It was empty!!!! I walked over down the street to a salon that was FULL and they took me in no problem.
