It is wonderful that they put an Apple Store in the Queens Center Mall because it is convenient for the people in Forest Hills and Kew Gardens. The location is perfect! It is spacious and clean. I bought an iPhone 6 Plus in April and the glass looked cracked. I finally had a chance to go to the Apple Store to ask about repairs. I had no appointment but a staff person took my name and email, to be called. Estimated wait was 10-15 mins. A staff person came to help me in less than 10 minutes. She said it was the clear screen protector that was cracked and not the glass. She spoke with her manager who was an awesome guy who applied a new screen protector on my phone for me, for free! I had a great experience here and was lucky I got here when it was not crazy busy. Thank you Apple staff! read more

Apple customer service and policy has tremendously descended as the years pass by. Every response and solution seems to be systemized regardless of special circumstances. Everything has to be noted and managed from an iPad. If a store associate would like to waive a fee or send a iPhone out to "the depo" center, the iPad would not allow it. They would instead ask the customer to call apple support and have "the people of authority" arrange a better solution. However in my case, apple support said that an in store visit would resolve the issue, it DID NOT. Long story short, my iPhone 8 Plus suddenly decided to power off and would not turn back on regardless of the many attempts to restart. When brought to the apple store located in queens center mall, an associate has informed me that it was a power issue, something may be wrong with the hardware. It is something that Apple would replace at no charge. (It's seems that I was not the first customer who had this issue with an iPhone 8 Plus, as it has only been released for less than a year). Apple so easily decided that I am entitled to have a new phone at NO COST. Didn't that seem easy. NOPE!!! As soon as they saw a minor crack on my IPhone, even though they determined the crack had NOTHING to do with the power issue after running a few tests they said it is policy to charge me $169 to replace the screen in order to obtain a new phone. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SCREEN WHEN THE SCREEN HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE POWER ISSUE!!! If it wasn't for the power issue, I would've been perfectly happy with my phone with the minor crack. It's been working fine for the past 8 months with the crack. If you were going to replace the phone at no cost due to the power issue, just replace the phone. Why are you charging me a fee to replace the screen of a phone that would not turn on, that you are just going to scrape. Just to rip me off and make some profit off an unfortunate customer?! if it was the crack that caused my phone to not work, I would have any issues paying the fee. I purchased this phone within the month of its release date. I believe that i may have purchased a glitched phone since it was one of the first batches sold. The associate at the store agreed and said it is a hardware issue and that they would replace it immediately. They did not go in depth to explain why this happened. Fast forward, I call apple support to see if someone can help me waive this fee. The person on the phone analyzes the situation and looked at some notes regarding my open case and said if I go any store, I would be able to waive this fee with a manger. And so I did. I went to the west 14th street location as it was closer from work and guess what, nope, no fee can be waived. I just wasted my time. I spoke to a manager there who then handed my case to a lead, the lead again determines it a power issue and a new phone can be given but I would have to pay this fee. I then call apple support for a second time and explained the situation. Spoke to senior advisor named Vanessa and she said she wished she can waive the fee but the system would not allow it. What kind of a system so this?! Obviously not a reliable one. So I continue to speak with her for 30 mins or so more just to have her hang up on me. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Is this the type of customer service Apple provides?! The store lead was able to find her extension and attempted to call back twice and left a voicemail for her. But she seem to have foresaw this and did not pick up. I left her a voicemail and had not yet heard back. It's been a whole day ans still no reply. By then I was just so tired and fed up that I decided to just pay for the fee. But guess what? I wasn't given a new phone. I was given a refurbished phone. I am in utter disbelief at this point. The associate said they cannot give me a new phone but this "like new" phone because the new phones are for customers who pay $800+!!! Great, so I have to suffer the consequences?! I just feel the need to vent, hoping someone can understand my point and do not wish this upon anyone. read more

I really love the convenience of having a Apple Store in queens without traveling to manhattan or Roosevelt field. That said, the people who work here are great and extremely knowledgeable. I had my iCloud checked out and there were some breaks with the verification process and my genius checked in with other people. I didn't mind at all. I also observed that the customers who were getting stuff checked out vs. buying were probably frustrated before they got to the store. My tips. 1. make an appt earlier as they fill up quickly 2. The Genius Bar is a fancy and pretentious name for customer service that is more self-serving than anything. You have to book reservations more than a day ahead and wait in line to check in. You are given an uncomfortable stool to sit on while you wait for the "genius" to reach you. During my visit, nearly everyone around me had products still under warranty yet the "Geniuses" found loopholes to avoid repairing or replacing at Apple's expense. The two customers across from me who had phone issues left with no immediate resolution or working phone even though they had to pay for the repairs. Apple has deteriorated in quality since Steve Jobs' death, and now the company seems to be avoiding the cost of repairs by fabricating excuses to not honor the warranty. read more

I was stuck in this store for over two hours buying a new IMAC. The staffer initially helping me seemed to be new, and didn't know what he was doing. He sold me the wrong IMAC, which I didn't notice until after I had paid. Undoing that error took forever. Although they gave me a discount for my troubles, it was the worse experience I've ever had at an Apple Store. They don't have the best organized staff at the Queens location. Went back here at the end of November as I had forgotten my apple ID log on information. I was helped by Akbar if I recall his name correctly. He was super nice and quick and efficient. Read my review below for information on my previous experience. Again - this place will stay at two stars until management improves. Had a pretty off-putting experience here a couple of months back. Because I unfortunately will need to go back for some IT help, I'll try to make a note of the name of one of the young men I encountered that night that was beyond rude. My name was in queue as I had made an appointment however I noticed that people who had been "behind" me in "line" were already being serviced. I politely asked about where my name was in the queue to which I was told because I had moved seats I had lost my place. Um, ok - I literally moved three feet away clearly in full eye sight of the woman who checked me in. At no point did she truly keep tabs on the queue list but continued to chatter on and be more interested in the social conversation she was carrying on with some of her coworkers (a total) of four, during a quite hysterical and busy Friday evening. I tried to veil my complete annoyance and let her know that I would still like to be helped. Apparently the rude person I will be sure to get the name of this time around who was supposed to help me, didn't really feel like it as he shuffled me to a soft spoken white guy who kindly and meekly mumbled to this guy (guess he was a "manager"? of some sort - he threw his weight around like he was) that his shift had ended 15 minutes ago and if it would be alright if the rude guy would take this one. The rude guy literally, I kid you not, stepped chest to chest to this guy, and asked him "huh, huh, what was that, what did you say....no, no, say it again" in a clearly confrontational-mean way but tried to be sly about it. I felt so bad for the guy and had I not been anxious to get out of there, would have picked a fight myself with that useless jerk. Anyhow the service here is horrible and embarrassingly does not scream Apple in any way. Aside from the really polite guy who patiently helped me in the face of 15+ minutes of unnecessary and I'm sure unpaid overtime and a real maniacal jerk, this place is not worth frequenting unless you need to. DO NOT waste your time coming here if you're looking for a new product - limit it to IT help only if you need to. I couldn't picture myself dealing with these personalities when buying a new product. We went in to this location with a small issue. Instead, not only was it NOT solved, the guy helping us made the phone even not work at all! We went home with a phone completely unfit to use (and it was just purchased 2 weeks ago). We spent 2 hours in the noisy, loud location filled with people who were beyond annoyed at the overly long wait times. We kept waiting for our "technician" who started helping someone else while supposedly helping us and made us wait for hours to click one button. It was the most ridiculous and excruciating Saturday evening I have ever spent anywhere! Actual service is OK but what's with the dress code of some employees? Some of the employees look like tattoo parlor assistants and one chick had a skirt up to her ass with tattoos everywhere. My husband and I came here last month when we were both having problems with out iPhones. We made our appointments online. Although there were a lot of people in the store we did not have to wait too long past our scheduled appointment, maybe 5-10 minutes max. We both saw Rose for our Genius Bar appointment . My MacBook Air wouldn't charge anymore so I made a quick trip to the closest Apple Store, which happened to be on the 2nd floor of Queens Center Mall. It was almost closing time but the place was still packed. One guy said he couldn't help me because I didn't have an appointment to see a technician even though I mentioned that my charger was the most likely culprit. I head over to pick up a charger and before I'm able to whip out my old charger to find its replacement, Joseph introduces himself and helps me pick out the appropriate one for my laptop model. He also recognized my problem and went to find a charger to test whether my laptop or the charger malfunctioned. I have the older T-shaped charger, which is not used by any of their laptops on display but he was able to go out of his way to get an old one from the back. We hook it up to my dying laptop and the holy green/orange light appeared. Thank you Joseph, we need more Apple people like you who are constantly scouting the store to help! read more

Highly upset, I went in on a Saturday (very crowded) made a reservation and they said I will get 3 texts. The first confirming my reservation, second is a reminder (so you don't go too far), and the last text saying they're ready for you. 8 minutes later I was sent a tex saying they gave my spot away. I was too supposed, I walked in later, but they said I can't be seen because the store was closing, made sense. So I was going to come the next day. Sunday comes, the store is fairly crowded, I waited on line and they said I couldn't been seen because there wasn't any open reservations that satisfied the issue with my phone. So I had to come the next day as a wall in or Tuesday with a reservation. I decided to walk in on Monday (today) the store wasn't so lacked be use I was there 11am. I made a reservation for 11:30, had to wait a half an hour, I was okay with that. I stayed on that floor because I know I only have a limited amount of time to check-in. But after waiting for over 45 minutes I went downstairs to get some food, I received my text as I was getting food and immediately went upstairs. As I walked in the store I got a text saying they moved on. I waited on line told the lady I just got the text, and she said okay and moved me in a seat at the Genius Bar. I noticed people that were behind me on line were already being assisted, I checked the time, and realized I was there for an hour and a half without ANY type of assistance. There wasn't even that many people, why am I waiting so long? I asked for a status update, and the guy looked my name up, and that's when I saw the lady who sat me down didn't let me come the appointment I had, and scheduled me for a 2:00 appointment!!?? How was I moved from 11:30 to 2? The guy ACTUALLY helped and got me assistance in about half an hour, I was pleased with this. After 3 times going there, and 2 hours of waiting I was seen for about 10 minutes, just to be told I need to restore my phone and "see what happens." Besides the one guy who helped, I have nothing good to say about this Apple Store. I understand there are a lot of people at times, but I went early to avoid this and still waited for 2 hours. With as many people who worked there I don't see why I was there for so long. Highly upset. read more
