This review is on my cell phone conversation only earlier this morning with an Apple Store employee her name is Julia. I talked to Julia and I told her I had set up an appointment with Kenneth their Senior Advisor who works for the call center for yesterday on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 1:50 p. m. My appointment was set up for me because my Apple IPhone XR would not hold a charge when I plugged in the original USB Charging Cable to the wall outlet for the past two days. These dates were on (Sunday, April 23 through Monday, April 24, 2023). I told Julia I was not able to attend my 1:50 p. m. appointment date and time yesterday due to I had their directions written down on two sheets of paper which was inside my car. I took the freeway and got off of exit 44 to La Costa Avenue and then I had been given the wrong directions on the internet. I always use the Google Maps turn by turn directions with the voice activated system and it helps me to get to any business place on time. Since my Apple IPhone XR Battery was completely out and the screen was black for the past 2 days I wasn't able to use this GPS System on Google Maps and I was not able to find their Apple Store location yesterday. Julia asked me today, if my issue was resolved regarding my Apple IPhone XR not being able to be charged for these past 2 days? I said Yes because I drove over to my local Walmart Supercenter Store and I had (Raul this Walmart Associate and Benjamin this Cell Phone Sales Rep.) person who is an independent contractor give me a FREE Diagnosis to confirm my idea that I already told both Raul and Benjamin that the original USB Charging Cable I used that came in the Apple IPhone XR box was broken at the cable cord and it was not holding a full charge to my cell phone. I just needed to buy a new USB Charging Cable and my Apple IPhone XR be fixed in me having full access to all my apps. I was only charged for one Anker USB-A Lightening Charging Cable Cord. The price was $14.97. I also paid the $2.00 to Raul for an (extended warranty) on ANKER USB-A Charging Lightening Cable Cord. So if my cable broke during this time period, it will be replaced with a FREE One USB-A Lightening Cable Cord. On the Apple Store website I noticed their prices are much higher and the price was $19.00. It is an increase of $4.00 more, I would have to pay the Apple Store if I ordered this cable cord on their website. Julia said the USB-A Charging Lightening Cable Cord only has a (one year warranty) on it and this warranty has already expired since my Apple IPhone XR is 3.5 years old now. Julia said I would have to order their new USB-A Charging Lightening Cable on their Apple Store website. I have read more than 50% of these Apple Store Reviews on this Yelp Review website are all (one star reviews) on their really poor customer service and all of their employees have no knowledge of their Apple IPhones, Apple Watches, IPad's and their Laptop Computers this Apple Store sells in their store. None of their people can help anyone resolve their customers issues that they are having with their Apple Products. I believe all of their customers reviews are warranted now. I asked Julia how long she has worked for this Apple Store? Julia said she has worked for this Apple Store for 4 years now. Then I asked Julia has she attended a college and graduated with a degree in Computer Science? Julia told me NO she has not. But Julia said she grew up around using this computer technology and she has learned about IPhones and their other Apple Products as she goes step by step. I realized when I talked to Julia today she doesn't have a real technical background from having a college degree in computer science. For myself, I went to a community college for 2 years and I graduated in the Computer Science Field. I can resolve my own Hardware Issues on my IPhone XR and also on my Desktop Computer at my home. Afterwards, I learned by our conversation this morning Julia told me that I should make an appointment with their call center when I can to bring in my Apple IPhone XR so someone from their Genius Bar can replace my Battery. I asked Julia to give me the full Battery Price. Julia said she doesn't know the price. I said the price is $89.00 on their website. Their labor is going to be more expensive for this Battery installation. I asked Julia to give me a rough estimate on the total cost. Julia would not tell me the exact total cost of this Battery Replacement Service. Julia said the Battery Replacement Cost is going to change due to other issues that will come up. I decided I am NOT going to do any business with this Apple Store. It seems to me this Apple Store just cares about their Profits not their customers I read their really bad reviews on Yelp in the way their regular customers have been mistreated by their employees who have been given really (poor customer service) and have no Knowledge of their Apple Computer Products. I will shop elsewhere. read more

So I'm realizing now why I never come to the Apple Store.... Or at least this location. I had an appointment and upon walking in, I had no idea how to get assistance as there was no one greeting you or at least me when walking in. I needed assistance from the Genius Bar so I saw a sign at the back of the store and walked back there thinking that there would be someone that would help. Again, I was wrong. After flagging down someone, they eventually sent some else to help me out. The gentleman that was helping me was kind and tried to help the best he could but unfortunately wasn't able to resolve my issue, which made me have to call online for further assistance. So, after the drive here, and the longer then normal wait to get someone to even acknowledge me, and not getting my issue resolved...I most likely will try to Avoid coming to the store in the future. read more

Remember back when Microsoft ruled and Apple was the underdog? The cool hip underdog. There was a certain "warm and fuzzy" feeling from Apple and Apple's products. Jump to present day. The "warm and fuzzy" is gone. Apple is now nearly a 3 trillion dollar company, a corporate robot who it seems no longer cares about its customers. Granted, I do love Apple products, but when something goes wrong, dealing with the company is IMHO just terrible. Other reviewers here have expressed similar. This Carlsbad store.... Sometimes I am amazed at the fabulous staff. Intelligent, helpful, patient, and brimming with positive energy. Kudos, staff! But at other times it feels like the approaching employee comes over to help me (cuz that's their job) but they're just "going thru the motions". It's obvious that inside they don't care. If zero stars were an option they would get zero stars. The employee first brought out the wrong phone and migrated my phone service to it. When I pointed out it was the wrong phone he was like "oh my bad," and then tried to migrate my service to the right phone which flagged my provider's fraud department. Because he couldn't understand why the phone service wouldn't work on the correct phone. I waited on the phone with my provider's customer support for an hour in the store. The employee dad-splained to me how it couldn't have possibly been their fault that the phone service wasn't working. They then said my best bet would be to go see my provider. My provider tried to bypass the issue by manually resetting my ESIM, which required me to wipe the phone and all my contacts. After two more hours they finally said hey, Apple really screwed you and also it was absolutely their fault, you need to find a way to call the fraud department, it's going to take a long time. So I go right back to Apple, they basically threw their hands up in a shrug and said "oops." So here I am 7 hours from the start of this absolute bungling. They made zero effort to give me recompense, no "we got you flagged for fraud, how can we make this up to you, would you like a gift card or a discount on your phone", really didn't show any desire to own this, off loaded the responsibility of fixing first to my provider and then to me. I've been using apple for years and never had an experience this absurd. These people really are amateurs. I will actively be discouraging people from going to this store. read more

5 star. They have resold me on my position on Apple. I've gone in three times in two days. Got a sweet deal in trading in iPad and old MacBook and got a killer iPad Pro. Izan, Diane, and Rick all helped me at some point and were super knowledge and well trained and ready for any question. They also took it a strip further and asked how I use my device and what for and showed me hacks and tips and other things that would be useful. I had a great experience! I was able to get a same day appointment at the Genius bar due to a broken screen. Although I was VERY late to my appointment, I was assisted immediately by Kevin. Businesses operating during the pandemic, "thanks, but no thanks" Review #6 you'd hope the reason Apple's "Customer Support" desk is not actually in the Apple Store in Carlsbad is so they can provide updates and feedback more efficiently. however, if you believed that for a moment, you're setting yourself up for major disappointment. because my Apple Support person was in a call center, all he could do was read the status of my repair off a screen I can access myself. he was completely useless. and, because he was unfamiliar with the particulars of my situation and the local Apple Store (Calle Barcelona in Carlsbad), pretty much all the information he gave me was a lie. a couple of examples: he told me when the computer was dropped off. wrong. what was the date the "provider" returned it to the Apple store because they couldn't fix the problem (neither shift keys work and still under warranty). so why did the Apple store have me take the computer to the "provider" in the first place? then he told me the delay was because the computer spent several days in transit. really? the "provider's" across the parking lot from the Apple Store. i was told at the Apple store the problem would take three or four days to fix. today's day eleven and still no word. i've been a loyal Mac user since the company was a start-up. there are five Macs at our house, three i-Pads, and six iPhones. i can't begin to tell you how truly disappointed i am at the piss-poor care they're taking of a loyal, longtime Apple customer. here's a couple of suggestions about how Apple should tweak their business model: first of all, fire the Bozo who runs your Carlsbad store. leaving retail to an ass-clown like that (this location has a definite "creepy cult vibe") is a massive disservice to your excellent products. then, retool customer support so it actually supports customers. and, most importantly, if both of the above are not isolated incidents, please let me know so i can sell my Apple stock. read more

I was greeted by three security people asking if I had an appointment. I said no but only here to but a cable. YOU NOW HAVE TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO BUY A CABLE! What idiot made the decision?! I would love to know. I am all about following the rules and changing my ways for Covid-19 to improve but to require an appointment to buy a cable is way over the top. I see this store has a 50% rating and I don't understand after my visit. I came in with a simple reset for my laptop, the tech was friendly and super helpful, they checked the laptop in and it was ready by the afternoon. Took ~5 minutes to pick up with no appointment, the tech walked me through how to set it up, answered any questions I had and was friendly. Laptop was cleaned and fully charged when I picked it up, within ~4 hours from drop off. The quick turn over was super helpful, they cleaned and successfully fixed the laptop. Not sure why this store has a 2.5 star rating. I'm betting it has something to do with the affluent neighborhood. I've been here a few times and this store is just SWAMPED and PACKED most of the time. Logically this means that it can take a while to get checked-in and checked-out. If you're going here, expect this. I would say try and hit google up for peak and off-peak hours and go off-peak. Otherwise, you're going to be in for a wait and due to the high number of patrons, they run out of stock pretty quick. This can be mitigated by calling and/or using the Apple Store app to check inventories BEFORE heading over here. If the app says they have LOW INVENTORY, CALL. This particular store is in a large outdoor shopping center and there are some neat stores nearby. The neighborhood is upscale and affluent, so expect that in the crowd. Some people are pretty demanding and thus you need to take this with a grain of salt. read more

Yesterday, my daughter and I went to this store hoping to find a solution regarding my husband's IPhone which he had rendered unusable(Long story) . We were greeted right away and offered more comfortable seating than the high stools. The young man, who greeted us told us a technician would be with us in about 10 minutes. Ten minutes later a technician named Samantha. We explained our issue and she told us what she would have to do. Twenty minutes later, she was back with the phone ready to put only 3 phone numbers in it... Perfect for my 86 year old husband who is in a care facility and needs to be able to talk to the love of his life (me) when she is unable to visit! I have been meaning to upgrade my iphone 12 for a long time and today I had the time to go to the store. I was helped by Nesa, the salesperson who talked about the models, asked about my needs and then recommended the proper phone. She was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable! I then met Lelya, who helped me transfer the data from my old phone to the new. There were 3 other people at the table and she was continually checking with each of us to make sure all was going well, always pleasant in this hectic situation! While my phone was transferring data, I noticed someone teaching at the next table. I was impressed that he was so caring and compassionate, always asking the attendees if they had any questions to verify they understood the material. When the session was finished, Carlos came to our table, introduced himself, and told me about the free classes on how to use my new phone. I've read the bad reviews about this store. I received good service for a batter replacement for my iPhone SE (2nd generation). I made my appointment for the Genius Bar and arrived 25 minutes early and got checked in early. Ten minutes later a technician came, ran some diagnostics and took my iPhone away. He told me to return an hour later, which I did. I checked in again and was told to wait by a door in the back only to be told by a rude asshole to sit by a table. Other than that I got my iPhone back several minutes later. Other than the rude person, who needs an attitude adjustment, I was very happy with my battery service. It's a bit chaotic, just be assertive when checking in and if they serve people who arrive after you at the Genius Bar talk to a technician right away. read more

This location is neither mindful nor demure. Would love to give zero stars. They had my computer for a battery repair for five days and did not fix it when they said they would. I was told it would be ready on Thursday because I made sure to let the employee know that I was leaving the country the next day and needed it by then. I even called the store the day before and was told once again it would be ready for pickup the following day. Then I stopped by the store on said Thursday to check on the repair and it turns out they hadn't even started on it and told me it would not be done until Saturday. When I became visibly upset by this, I was told by one employee "it's just a computer". I asked to speak with the manager and she gave me a blasé and uncaring "apology" and said there was nothing she could do. Basically, if you're into clear communication, good customer service, and services being completed in a timely and respectful manner, do not seek help from these jabronis. read more

Came in with my girlfriend looking to purchase a new iPhone 16. We walked in and no one approached us so we decided to walk to a table with the phone she wanted. After some time, she decided on a color. We were standing around looking for someone to help us. We noticed that 5 employees were standing around and talking with each other. We made eye contact with three of them and they still didn't want to help us. We noticed someone new enter the building and they were immediately greeted by somebody. To us, we felt like "what's going on here?" After another 5 minutes, someone named Gustavo came up to us and asked if we needed help. When we asked him about the differences between her phone and the new one, we heard him sigh and take a deep breathe. Almost like we were bothering him. And while we were checking out, we wanted to finance ours and we had this whole process we had to go through only for him to say "nope that's not you on the account." Asking us to call for T-Mobile verification. While my girlfriend was calling her family member , I wanted to check out the phone on display and noticed that Gustavo, who left the phone on the counter, immediately pickup the brand new phone. Signaling to me , that I was going to take it and run out. Honestly, if you're looking for a brand new iPhone, go to UTC or else where. My wife was fixing her phone and I started browsing around and another sales person came and ask if I need help and I said no, and he kept enquiring what I was there for! This is the second time I went there this week and people don't realize, but out of the bat, they've being treating us as thieves. Horrible place with useless staff. Need I say more? I'll tell you why. It was a weekday a couple weeks ago that I spilled green juice all over my laptop keyboard. I panicked and drove it to Carlsbad Apple Store since they opened an hour earlier than the closest one to me (North County). I really wanted to try and get ahead of any damages as I can't do work without my computer. I speed there and arrive 6 minutes after opening (10:06am). I'm greeted by ding-dong #1 who asks if I have an appointment, I say no. He says it's a 35-45 minute wait. I start crying as I thought there would be SOME empathy. Nope. He just looks at me and says 35-45 minutes. Fine. I sit there, waiting for the tech to call me. 50 minutes later, ding-dong #2 who asks me the same question as #1 "what are you here for?" Then he tells me the tech will be out shortly. What was the point?! Then another 10-15 minutes later, here comes ding-dong #3 who basically tells me he can't do anything! I lose it... an hour of waiting and NOTHING?! I'm so frustrated I cry again as I ask him if he can just take it to the back, open it real quick to see if there is any damage. He tells me no and said they can only send it out for 5 days. At this point, I'm sure he could tell I was pissed at him. I highly recommend people never go to this store! HERE'S THE KICKER: I was able to make an appointment at the North County location a few hours later at 2:30pm, and was taken care of by staff that is 10x better than Carlsbad. The tech that helped me then OFFERED TO TAKE MY COMPUTER TO THE BACK, OPEN IT AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANY WATER DAMAGE! Without me even asking. I nearly jumped out of my seat and hugged her! Not to mention when I told her my story and my experience at Carlsbad, she even said CARLSBAD IS USELESS. Wow. Come to find out there was indeed damage, but I'm wondering if that could have been avoided if Carlsbad gave two effs about their customers, me and my situation. Carlsbad, thanks for nothing. In my opinion there is an employee here that is skimming credit cards from customers. I went in on December 15, 2024 around 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. to pick up an online order. I was helped by "Gustavo". When I provided my name for pickup he claimed my order wasn't coming up. He asked for the credit card I used to place the order online so he could try to pull it up and when I provided 2 credit cards he said my order still wasn't coming up. Turns out apple doesn't have a system that allows employees to reference orders via the card used. After I gave him the order number he said he found it and it must have been a "glitch" and he went and got the phone. That same day the credit card I handed him was charged for over $1,200 at the Apple Store. I called the credit card company and the card was used manually in the store. I would avoid this location at all cost and I sincerely hope Apple opens an investigation into this employee. read more
