I've been sitting here since 6:00 PM, and it's now almost 8:00 PM. Nearly two hours of waiting without anyone acknowledging me, providing an update, or showing any sense of urgency. At the very least, customers deserve communication and basic respect. I have children at home waiting for dinner, yet I've been left sitting here wondering if anyone even remembers I'm here. No one should have to chase down employees just to find out what's going on. Apple is supposed to be known for customer service, but this experience has been the complete opposite. People aren't treated like people here--they're treated like numbers. Respecting someone's time costs nothing, and today that respect was completely missing. I cannot recommend this location based on my experience. If you value your time, be prepared for an extremely long wait with little to no communication. read more

Honestly it's been fine the last two times I went. Once was in the middle the afternoon and the other was right as they opened. Both assistants were helpful and got me in and out with what I was looking for. I'm not asking for much and they delivered. The store was clean compared to the rest of that dumpster fire of a mall. The mall is convenient and has a lot of options for shopping. It is clean and well maintained as well as family friendly. If I could give Summit Mall Apple and Verizon negative stars for the repair process, I would. If you have a VERIZON service and an IPHONE 17 "DO NOT GET REPAIRS" at the Summit Mall Apple. You will find yourself wasting and spending hours of time after the repairs and toggling through both Verizon and Apple Care Support phone lines, as well as (stores) to get a repair done/completed, and then have to reactivate the service on your account as if it never existed due to the repair. There is some problem between these two companies and Apple doing repairs on the devices, resetting your account in my case to the point that my Verizon service needed to be reactivated. Apple deactivates the Verizon service when doing the repair (they did not explain this well at all upon onset of the repair) or pick-up, I found out the hard way. Next time (Apple), instead of trying to do a repair and essentially making the phone a rebuilt/refurbished phone through Apple care- how about Apple just issue a new phone under Apple care instead of playing repairman while deactivating my Verizon service. Once you do get in the phone, expect it will be set back to the original settings. My Apple watch didn't sync or work as well-as its paired with the phone they deactivated. And my contacts were completely gone. Bottom line: Verizon does not want Apple doing repairs on these phones if you have service through Verizon or the service wouldn't be deactivated and the phone would be functional with SERVICE upon pick-up after the repair at the "Genius Bar" in Apple. And the Genius bar will act like its all rainbows and butterflies when you leave. You will jump through hoops to get your phone reactivated with service. Brace yourself for a lot of conversation, frustration and being told at Verizon at one point you may have to wait 48 hours plus (meaning no SERVICE) and go through the account recovery process. Horrible experience - I will never do it again. The Genius Bar is not set up to do the repairs correctly without Verizon on a Verizon Service Plan. Apple does not have access to re-activate your service on your phone after they de-activate the service for the repair. They should not be replacing mother boards, batteries and de-activating phones if they can't finish the job upon pick-up. End Point: Proceed with caution or NOT AT ALL, get ready to talk to A.I. and/or toggle customer service lines- be prepared for trouble after repairs here if you have Verizon! read more

I have visited this store a few times because my daughter insists on using an iPhone. All of her friends use iPhones and she doesn't want to be an Android Outsider. I can't afford the latest $1,200 iPhone 12 or anything close to it. So I told my daughter that I'd be willing to give her the same amount of money that we pay for brand new Android phones - $200. An iPhone XR retails for $499 plus tax. We traded in my daughter's old iPhone 8 Plus and they gave us $180 for it, which was excellent. With tax, that brought her new iPhone XR down to $352. Subtracting my $200 contribution, left a $152 balance, which she gladly paid. She was happy to get a new phone, but these Apple devices are pricey. The service at this store has always been excellent. The products are also exceptional, but pricey. The first time we visited years ago, they replaced my daughter's phone for free with no questions asked. I guess that's why we keep going back. The summit mall Apple store location in my opinion is one of the best in the area. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and helpful. I've been to other locations and they're not nearly as good as this one. Today Fatima helped me. I've been helped by her in the past too. She always has a smile on her face, a soft-spoken voice, extremely friendly, and explains things thoroughly. I highly recommend this location. It was time to replace my MacBook Air and I went to the Apple store and spoke with Ryan. I could not decide between another MacBook Air or if I wanted to try to make the leap to a 12.9" iPad Pro. I was leaning towards the iPad Pro but was hesitant due to tablet limitations, etc. Ryan spent the time needed with me, even though the store was busy, and showed me how the iPad Pro can not only do what I want for my business, but do it better and even more efficiently than my laptop. An iPad may not be for everyone, but Ryan helped me take the leap and I am very happy I did. I have reduced my device usage from an iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air to just an iPhone and an iPad. Amazingly inept associates! Came in on a Sunday afternoon for an appointment at 4:40 to get my battery replaced due to Apple requiring me to invest in my iPhone SE to get the same performance out of it I did a few weeks ago by buying a new battery. Walked into the joint and was met by some clown that told me their appointments for the day were all taken. I assured the little princess that I had made an appointment a week ago for this time to replace my battery and she let me cross over the threshold into the realm of chaos and pointed me towards another 'genius' halfway towards the alter. This 'genius' took my name and asked me to wait underneath the picture of the man climbing the mountain. Which I did. And I did. And I waited. And I waited. And I waited. I then opened my laptop and started looking for alternatives to Apple. And I continued to wait, and wait, and wait, and search for a new phone that didn't start with an A, and wait, and wait, and wait. After 40 minutes of waiting, I asked yet a third 'genius' when I would be helped for my appointment 40 minutes ago. She argued my appointment time had yet to come, as she saw it as 5:30. I assured her she was wrong and offered to show her my email confirmation of 4:40. To which she simply responded "Let me get someone to help you now." I asked for a manager and learned his associates screwed up by not attending to me quicker. He suggested I wait patiently in a corner, at which time I became loud and visibly aggravated. That evolved into a 'we can help you now' which I questioned why one had to get all angry and loud to get their appointment, which by now was almost an hour delayed? Hearing no good answer, I realized the only solution for me was to cut the cord from Apple and run, not walk, from their proprietary programs and service to an open architecture based system where anyone could help me, not just the 'genius' drones at a few select locations. At the end of the day I resolved my power problem with my phone. I drove to Best Buy in my home town and bought a Samsung S8. To hell with Apple and their proprietary BS and crappy service. It took me less time to make my purchase at Best Buy as it did just to walk to the Apple Store from the parking lot. read more

This location has gone downhill. Took in an IPAD less than 2 months old . Home button stopped responding. She said it may need sent in for repair, told her I could still return to purchase place if that was the case, still had another 30 days left to return there After lots of testing was decided it was a hardware issue , they would be glad to replace. Accepted what she gave me , after I left realized I was duped and given a refurbished one ! They are deceitful and can't be trusted. I stopped by the Apple store today for help with watches. The sales associates were knowledgeable and quick. The store was busy, but they still took the time to help us and didn't try to make us feel rushed. Masks are required (I think) in the store and everyone had one on. I personally appreciated this because I was able to focus more on the watch than worrying about who was around me or what they were doing. The store is larger, so even though it was busy, it still felt more roomy. They had plenty of every type of device out so that people could try before they buy. They were also well stocked on various different accessories as well which a lot of 3rd party stores are either out or low of stock. The watch I was looking for was out of stock everywhere else, but in stock at the Apple store. I personally have had very good experiences each time I go here, whether for buying or repairs. read more

I was the chosen one to go to the store with my 85 year old father who needed his iPhone repaired and reactivated from his new non-Apple phone he hated. He didn't remember his Apple ID or what was wrong with the phone. The store was incredibly busy on memorial weekend. We did have quite a wait but the 18 people working were all busy. The system to provide service worked pretty well. EVERYONE was super kind and patient with us. I did need to interpret the technology portion between my dad and the tech. Overall things went smoothly and most importantly dad is happy with the phone. Thank you Apple for training your staff to deal with a variety of people with such diverse needs. read more

How about eating an apple while using an Apple? Now that right there is a recipe to take over the world! While not the biggest Apple store I've been in, this location is pretty much like the rest. Staff is friendly, they have a vast array of amazing Apple products and they are super efficient. Located not far from a Starbucks too...and y'all know that makes my world better! Summit Mall has parking issues. To get into the main mall entrance you have to fight old ladies and women with children for a spot. But it is worth it to get into this Apple store. Located between Macy's and Dillard's and right next to the food court. I think they placed this Apple store in a good spot. I typically park at Macy's and walk down that corridor. Made an appointment to have the cracked screen on my Daughter's iPhone 7 replaced. While on the phone making the appointment I was asked all kinds of questions regarding phone (serial #, etc). Upon arriving on time for our appointment we were instructed to wait in a line and get checked in. After waiting about 10 min we were checked in and instructed to sit at a particular table that was pointed out to us. Ten min later an associate came over to help us. After a few more minutes we were told "sorry, we're out of replacement screens. We can order you one, and hold it for you till you come back". Was this guy kidding?? I freaking MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A SCREEN REPLACEMENT!!!!! I live about 25 min from this location! Like I wanted to waste another couple of hours coming back!!! I then asked to speak to a manager. Finally one came over and I explained to him exactly what happened and asked if they were out of screens, why was I allowed to make an appointment to get me screen fixed? He said "we don't cross reference our inventory with appointments". Well maybe you should! He then said "well who told you we had screens in our inventory??" Acting like it was MY fault for coming in! When you make an appointment for a specific issue you assume they have the items on hand to resolve the issue. Would you appreciate making an appointment for a new muffler on your car the same day only to be told "sorry we're out of mufflers" when you arrived?? He then offered me a brand new phone for the same cost of the replacement screen. Yep I'll do that! I feel my situation was ONLY resolved because I asked to speak to a manager. read more

I drove 30 minutes to this store to be greeted by 3 bozos doing absolutely nothing. I asked about getting my ipad screen replaced and was told I needed to make an appointment. Then I asked to look at an new I pad pro to purchase and was told by one of the bozos that I needed to know what I wanted to purchase and there was no in store financing available which I did not care since I planned to purchase it outright without financing. I had an appt with the Genius Bar for a malfunctioning iPad that they told me was not worth fixing. Talked me into purchasing a brand new iPad. I agreed to purchase a PINK Ipad. They did not show me the item but handed me the bag with the boxed iPad in it and said my receipt would be emailed. Drove 45 minutes home to discover the gave me the wrong color. Called the store, was put on hold, transferred and disconnected. Called Apple who was helpful until they transferred me back to the store who told me my only option was to drive back there to return it. (90 minutes round trip!) They were super rude considering it was their mistake. I spent a lot of money and they gave me the WRONG item! They should have shipped me the correct item with a label to return the incorrect one. I shouldn't have to spend 2 hours of my time (plus fuel) to correct their mistake.I will never shop at that store again, Best Buy here I come! read more

Holy cow my last two experiences have been horrible and management is like "well we don't know what happened to the order, you canceled it." but I didn't and I got charged and drove really far.........they wouldn't sell me another because it was 6:50 and they were closing. I went to upgrade my iPhone 11 Pro because I wanted to check out 5G. I have adored this store for so long but wtf. Last time I had this treatment was from Apple in Caesar's Las Vegas but that was several ago I've stuck up for Apple since the iPhone 3. I have only visited the Apple Store in regards to getting my cracked screen fixed or certain bug problems on my phone checked, and every time the staff is very helpful and kind. I have gotten my phone screen fixed twice, and both times it was a very simple process when signing me in and I was able to pick up my phone within an hour or so. Another time my phone was experiencing some glitching, which proved to be Apple's fault, and they gave me a new phone at no cost. The staff is very personable and easy to talk to, great customer service and I'm so happy every time I go there! read more

My phone wasn't working, so I called apple support. They were very friendly, and set up an appointment for a replacement. I walked into this Apple Store, and was friendly greeted by a young man. He checked me in, and told me to sit at a table. I waited, and waited, for about 30 minutes - 1 hour. Then I noticed that all the people sitting with me had already been helped. As I noticed this, I knew they would call me next. Then someone checked in, and sat down, near me. About five minute later, he was called for his appointment. I was very upset. I went up to someone working there, and told them what had happened. They apologized, and told me that I had not checked in. I then told them that I did already check in. They were surprised, but they found someone to help me right away. A older lady (probably in her fifties), with glasses, came and told me she would help me today. She asked me what the problem was with my phone. I told her the issue and she took my phone to here computer. She tried about 5 tests, spending about an hour. She looked like she had no idea what she was doing, and she was very slow. I told her that Apple Support told me, that I only had to replace it, not do test or anything. She said, "That may be so." And continued her last test. Finally when we completed all of her tests, she said, "It looks like you will need a new replacement." I was extremely frustrated. She got a new phone, and started setting it up with me. She switched SIM cards and all kinds of things. She looked like she had no idea what she was doing. Then, when she was about to finish setting it up, she said that it is not working, and to go to the Sprint store. I rushed out of the mall to the closest sprint store. I took my phone to them, and they discovered, that the apple lady, had switched the SIM card, when she wasn't supposed to. The friendly Sprint man put a new SIM card in, and said that this phone is not working. He told me to take it back to Apple, for a replacement. So, I rushed back to Apple. When I got there, I went up to the lady, that had helped me before. She ignored me and walked away. I tried to walk up to her, and she told me, very rudely, "Your going to have to make another appointment. I can't help you know, I have two other customers." How am I supposed to make another appointment for a different date, without a working phone?!? I immediately went up to one of the friendly workers at the front of the store. I told them, "I was just here, and they replaced my phone. Then they had trouble, and sent me to Sprint. I went to Sprint, and they said I need another replacement! I don't know! I am so confused!" They immediately got me in with a young friendly technician. He replaced my phone, and sent me back to Sprint! I once again rushed back to Sprint, where there, they activated my phone! My appointment was for 11:30. I left at 2:30. I would have expected more, from a professional business like apple. read more

I wish I could leave 0 stars. The customer service is horrible. The manager Josh is unbelievably bad at his job. I took my computer in to have a new WIFI card installed. Apparently the fine print states the computer could be erased. However, the technician said "you are getting a new WIFI card. There is a SLIGHT chance you MAY lose data". No one explained backup options. Instead, the technician made it sound like there was a tiny chance this would happen and I shouldn't worry about it. When I picked the computer up, I realized all my data from the past 5 years was gone. At that time, the technician made it sound like I had been informed this would happen, it was in the fine print I signed off on and Apple is not responsible for data. I also learned Apple does not have a data recovery department. I think this is because that department would be overwhelmed with work due to the way they do business and just wipe everything out. So, now I have to send my hard drive to a data recovery company in California. They said IF anything can be recovered, it will cost up to $2700 for this process. Josh, the manager, explained Apple does not cover this cost, Apple does not offer any help whatsoever except providing the name of a company that might be able to help. And, to top it all off THE WIFI PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED!!!!! read more

I'm a huge Apple fan, and have been for years. Visiting this store reminds me why I continue to choose Apple products over any other tech company. I've been to the Summit Mall Apple store multiple times in the past, and every time I'm always greeted by super friendly and helpful staff. As a college student studying public relations, my computer is my life. This means if something goes wrong with my computer, I have to stop everything to fix the issue. I've never felt as if the staff have tried to sell me something I didn't need, or given me misleading information. In fact, each time I've visited the staff members have always worked with me to save my computer and phone on the brink of breakdowns. Everyone who I've worked with previously proved to be outgoing, and answered any question I could come up with. During my last visit one staff member even stayed late to help me back up my hard drive after my computer had crashed and failed. In my opinion, Apple continues to prove that great customer service goes a long way. I will continue to visit this store any time I have issues. read more

Terrible all the way around. Not even sure where to start. Is it the uncaring staff? The arcane "procedures"? The outright mis-information? The lies? The delays? Or all of the above. For months I've been waiting for a replacement battery for my iPhone6s. After 14 months it should have have been dead. So - the battery finally comes in and I make "Genious Bar" reservation. Get there and they tell me I shouldn't have made one and they won't honor it for a battery. So - they tell me to order the battery direct from Apple, which I do. Which takes several weeks to be shipped to the store. When I get the call that the battery is in, they tell me not to come in on the weekend as the wait time is "up to two hours" and to come in during the week. So I go there today and they tell me it will be THREE HOURS to replace the battery. I guess we will see. Last Apple device I ever buy. And the last time I will use this store. I've visited this location perhaps a half dozen times. Each visit they've delivered a customer service experience that is truly unrivaled for computer and electronics sales. Their attitude is really carefree. Want to figure out if one of their computers will work for your video editing project? Just bring in your raw material and edit it there. They love it. They encourage you to do so. Have a return? They're great about it. I brought a $100 item to return, they didn't even look at it...they refunded me without question. Later I ended up spending $800 in the same store, and I did so because of how well I was treated with the return. The best was today, seeing the customer in her 80s get computer support in person with their genius bar. See, Apple gets it. People don't like calling Dell and getting tech support from India. Last year I had an iPad2 that I stepped on. Fully cracked the screen. I brought it in and they replaced the whole unit for free. Don't go to this store if you expect good customer service. You will be sadly disappointed. My wife and I took her laptop MacBook to be repaired. It didn't work at all. It clearly would have to be sent out. Luckily, we had AppleCare. We were greeted at the store by two women and one man wearing "security" badges. There was a line to get in the store, probably because of the COVID virus. We went to get in line but were abruptly informed that they would not be able to see us that evening. Keep in mind that the store was open at the time and customers were in it. We said that we really did not need to see anyone. We knew the computer was dead. We merely asked them to take the computer, give us a receipt, send it out and call us when it was done. One of the workers named Nicole kept saying that they couldn't do that. It wasn't their "policy." It was against their "rules." Soon she was joined by another female worker who identified herself as the manager. She abruptly stated, "This conversation is over." Standing behind her was a male worker in a security uniform. Me and my family have bought numerous Apple products over the years. We were pretty upset with this shabby treatment. It seems that when it comes to repairs, Apple frequently manages to make the experience unsatisfactory. If your going to the Apple Store, I would recommend that you avoid Summit Mall, avoid Nicole and avoid the manager. read more

I went to this apple store because I just switched cell phone carriers and got a new iPhone XR and I couldn't get everything switched over from my iPhone SE. There were no problems with the hardware or the carrier. Just my own ignorance. Let me tell you, it's tough being stoooopid!!! Seriously though, I was introduced to Mark who, very kindly, professionally and compassionately walked me through the process every step of the way. I couldn't have had a nicer experience. I'm a 50 year old man who's not so tech savvy and Mark came through for me and I truly appreciate it. ATTENTION APPLE BIG WIGS....you have an exemplary employee!!!! Very happy with my visit to this location, I saw many bad reviews of there service on battery's and I was kind of worried to go but the workers were very kind and they only took a little over an hour! It was also free because there was something wrong with my battery, not water damage or the battery degrading over time, they were extremely helpful but they did not warn me about them having to reset my phone or whatever they did and I lost over 1000 photos!!! I have google photos to back them all up but I haven't went onto the app in a really long time and I lost all of those photos. Very happy with the service they provided! As my first visit here, I was very impressed. I had made an appointment for the genius bar the night before and got the time I wanted. I arrived 10 minutes early, checked in and sat at the bar for only 5 minutes before I my genius arrived to help me. He was friendly and explained everything as if I knew nothing. (Which isn't true because our home is so technological it's insane.) Anyways, I had to have the touch pad replaced on my MacBook. It took exactly 1 hour, which is what was quoted to me and they even let me test it out before leaving the store. I had multiple people ask me if I need help, so I never felt neglected. Honestly, if you are contemplating or seriously thinking about buying any Apple products go to this store. It's a great visit and the customer service is incredible. I'm very disappointed with (Josh sales leader) at the Apple Store in Summit Mall. I was told that our phone would be replaced at cost of $329.00 for accidental damage. Apple quotes under its own web site cost of accidental damaged phone cost. Josh's refusal to replace our phone was wrong! Screwing customers over is wrong! Apple own web site says accidental damage not we pick and choose what we cover! Thanks for nothing Josh! Update: We went to Apple Legacy Village store in Cleveland and had a great experience. They replaced our phone and did not treat us like crap like Summit Mall store. read more
