Service was ok, food was pretty good. Nothing spectacular that stood out in my head. I would go again however :)

Do not eat here. The staff are all very friendly but the food is absolutely terrible. Applebees in Tacoma is much better.

Diverse menu, usually good service, whole bar with some neat mixed drinks . It's a smaller Applebees and gets very crowded it's Friday evening at 615 and its packed because it's so small it gets extremely noisy . The sandwiches are pretty good appetizers are pretty good. had the clubhouse grill sandwich with salad, geez! the salad was huge for a side. read more

I'm surprised this location is still open. The staff just doesn't NOT care about the customers. They are slow as could be. If I have to flag you down to get my tap water to me within my first 30 minutes of being seated... The few times I've waited it out, the COOK is the one bringing me my good because the wait staff is too busy flirting with each other. Sad! read more

Went to Applebee's on Feb 25th 2019, at about 11:30. There were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. We were seated and told our server would be with us shortly. We waited for over 10 minutes without any service at all including any drinks. We got up to leave and the serve told us he was getting ready to take our order as we walk out and I told him we had been waiting over 10 minutes and he made a smart ass comment to us as we were leaving. This was the same person who went by our table 3 times and never even seem to care we were there. I cannot believe the terrible service, when there were only 2 other couples in the entire restaurant. If this is the mentality of the people that Applebee's hires I can see why the Gig Harbor location has such low reviews. read more

When I walk in it looks like a normal restaurant but then when my friend orders spaghetti because he's a vegan he find a rogue pieces of chicken in the side of the plate I hate this place it's so disgusting I found a hair in my food read more

Had a terrible experience here. Our server, Stephanie, was wonderful. The manager Jamie, however, was incredibly rude. My fiancé attempted to order 3 different beers from the bar menu, and all of them were unavailable. The manager came over and informed us that "Just because it's on the menu, it doesn't mean every applebees has it". One of the beers we had asked for was the Applebees summer highlight beer, a Leininkugels summer shandy. The people next to us gave up and cancelled their order after an hour of waiting for their meals. I never expect to receive 5 star service at Applebee's, but this was horrendous. Had we not been on a time constraint, we would have given up and gone elsewhere. We will definitely not be coming back to this location. read more

My order has never been ready when I walk in. I've had to wait 10-15 minutes for you guys to get it together. Come on!! If I didn't work oddball hours and wasn't counting on you to be the only late place open for a decent meal I'd go elsewhere!! Ordered chicken wings...they came unsauced with sauce on side...? The server took back the wings to the kitchen and brought back the same wings after I handled and ate 1 wing. The staff was the only positive. This used to be a go to restaurant for my husband and I. And it's now black listed. We will NEVER return. The food was obviously frozen. If the kitchen isn't filled with only microwaves, then the condition is sadder than I thought. It was as if everything had been tossed into a microwave and slopped onto a plate. Awful. The menu changes regularly, so what you like on the menu may not be on the menu in a few months. You are seated promptly. The appetizers might not come out promptly if it is too busy. Presentation definitely beats the quality of the food. Some menu items are fresh, while others struggle to even taste like it. The drinks are usually excellent. Would definitely recommend the quesadillas are good appetizers. They usually have good chicken dishes, but watch the ingredients. I would say this Applebees beats fast food. However, would say Blazing Onion, Anthony's, the Greenhouse, and the Gourmet Burger Shop provide better quality in their food. This food is definitely average, but sometimes has a few good things show up on the menu occasionally. read more

I visited the Applebee's in Gig Harbor, WA. I went for my birthday dinner with my mom and Grandmother. It was not at all what I wanted. I should have chosen something much different. There was a server there that spoke so loud that I thought I was going to loose my hearing. I'm only 22 years old. I have excellent hearing. I could not even talk to my Mom or Grandmother over her... I would have looked past that had my food been actually hot... my fries were hot... but my steak wasnt. If im ordering a steak, but I want my steak perfectly done. I want it sizzling. And I want it juicy. Now, I'm in the restaurant bsuiness. I know what it takes. Customers are always right. Customers are ALWAYS right. End of story. Maybe I'll try this restaurant again in a year. But it's no where near where I was hoping it would be. Especially for the prices. read more

We love it here and come often. Their margaritas can be a hit or miss. Some of the food is our favorite so we order it every time. we have been disappointed before but their customer service is great and when they made one big mistake with a burger they ended up not charging us for any of our meal which included 3 margaritas. They are very kind to their guests we consider this one of our fave places to go. We enjoy the ability to pay and see our bill during our meal. The prices are pretty good. read more

Awful service, the poor girl at the front was trying as hard as she could to keep people happy but unserved customers we leaving in droves. We sat there and were completely ignored for 30 minutes, no water, nothing. It would make sense if they were busy but they were not. All around the room were tables without even a single glass of water with red lights like beacons coming for the iPad wannabes just begging for a server to stop by. The employees seemed to be having a great time as they had time to banter one another from across the room. Save yourself the disappoint skip this one! read more

As far as apple bees goes it is what it is, shouldn't expect more then just that. The service which is absolutely awesome as long as its Alison, she has a great memory is very personable and takes great care of us. The only reason we go to this place earlier then 11 is Alison. Being its the only place in gig harbor open past 11 besides the saloon and who wants to go there? So if you can request her she will make your experience a lot better then just sitting there eating ehh food. Manager Brenda is a little annoying butts into conversations that she has no business in, but means well. read more

The restaurant is in a lovely brand new building, everything is shiny and new. The hostess station is fully staffed and they made a great effort to greet everybody just as they walk through the door and add them to the list. The hostess told us that it would be 15 minutes and we probably only waited 10 minutes. The waiting area is much smaller than the number of people waiting but luckily it was nice outside so we could stand out in front of the building. I will start with what I saw as the positives and the first one has to be the restaurant staff. There are lots and lots of employees, it seemed as if there maybe even too many staff members running around for the number of customers. Our server was very polite, neatly attired, and seemed interested in making sure we had an enjoyable experience. The server was a little pushy when it came to our ordering and a bit naggy. The server also forgot to refill the drinks despite being asked several times for refills. Other than the drink issues the server did a good job. Another positive would be the cleanliness of the facility. I appreciate a clean restaurant and from what I saw this place is kept very clean and neat. We started with the appetizer sampler. It was actually not bad, I am not typically a fan of deep fried food so it was a surprise that this was okay. The rest of meal was okay, the hot fudge sundae was our dessert order, they are created with tiny scoops of ice cream with a lot of whipped cream and a dribble of hot fudge. I was hoping for something a little more substantial in the hot fudge sundae. Overall the food was a solid three stars. It is difficult to give a genuine critique of a chain restaurant. The whole goal of this type of restaurant is to make sure that the food in front of the quest looks exactly like the picture in the menu or on the commercial you see at home. No creative license or flair allowed. Very robotic and pre-measured. So in that regard I will say that the Gig Harbor Applebee's gets at least four stars for looking like every other Applebee's I have ever been too. Gig Harbor was definitely lacking in this type of restaurant and hopefully the competition will give some of the local restaurants some incentive to do some deep cleaning and improve their service. Always loved coming here. Last weekend I got the Pepper Crusted Sirloin w/ Whole Grains. The steak and veggies where superb, but the grains tasted like moldy dirt. Not my kind of grains I guess. But that was no problem at all because the waitress and hostess could tell right away that something was wrong and they replaced it with Quinoa Pilaf w/Cranberries with no extra charge. read more

Applebee's is your typical chain restaurant and I've been too several ones in different states, but this one was by far the best hands down. I'm updating my review because of tonight's experience. If Applebee's can redeem themselves, then I'll write another update. We go to be seated and there are open seats that aren't in a corner that have a big party right in the middle of the isle, but they try and put us there. We asked to be moved, no problem. We get seated and we look over the menu. Other guests come in and we haven't been greeted yet and the other guests have been asked for their drink order and what not. The manager walks by without saying anything to us. We sit for a little over 5 minutes before someone comes over to ask if we've been helped and we hadn't so we placed our drink, appetizer, and entree order. As soon as the waitress leaves, the manager immediately comes over and puts two cocktail napkins down and tells us that's her queue that someone has been over to help us. So instead of greeting us, she just waited until someone else did and then made a note by placing a napkin on the table. We received our entree and they were so quick to walk away and when we tried to get their attention because we didn't have any silverware, they were already gone. We tried to say excuse me to 2 additional wait staff who must've not heard us and continued on their way. For a couple of minutes there were no wait staff on the floor. The manager had sat down with a guest at a booth near the door. We were finally able to grab someone by raising our voice a little louder to get someone and we finally received silverware quite some time later. As we were receiving silverware from another person, our waitress magically appeared asking how everything was and we had literally just received the silverware. So far, things aren't looking too good. The service deserves 1 star, but the food was just fine, so bumped it up. Perhaps the afternoon weekend staff is better than the weekday evening staff. Either way, I was extremely disappointed and hope they can get it together. read more

We went in when they first opened. The food had a chared taste and the service was not very good. We did not return for some time. We went and tried them out this Summer. Again, not that great. For some reason my Mom and I decided to go there late September early October. They had updated the place, from the way you pay to the food. I was no longer getting food that tasted chared, their drinks were great, as well as the service, and my Mom was equally happy with her meal and overall experience. Since then we have gone back many times and we have been just as happy as before. We hope this new trend lasts! read more

I have eaten at Applebee's 3 times now. I am a patient person, don't expect much. The first time I ate here, bad service and it took over 30 minutes for someone to take my order. Food was fine! Second time, same exact service but different employees. Bad attitude from the waitress and took a very long time to get waited on. Food was fine! The third time is the charm right? Wrong! Took forever to get noticed! Again poor service and pissy attitude from the waitress. The host was a very nice gentleman though. I would officially not recommend dining at Applebee's. The outside of this location looks like a Doctor's office and not inviting. We came in, sat in the bar area and waited quite a while until the waitress joked that she was ignoring us. We went to Applebees for Mothers Day breakfast. Our party of five had not been to the new restaurant so we were looking forward to trying out the menu. We were all served but our mom( whom we were taking out )was served her meal on a plate that was dirty! There was old dried food on the sides of the bowl/plate and a large fingerprint on the top side of the plate that had some kind of red sauce DRIED on it! Needless to say she did not eat it nor eat anything there. The wait staff were really nice but if this is how the kitchen sends out food in a brand new restaurant I am not sure they will last. I wish we had read one of the earlier reviews that mentioned dirty bowls too. The food may have been good but with the dirty plate the thought of an appetizing meal went out the window! read more

Worst Service of any Applebees I have ever been too. Thought was just bad night first time, but have been here a dozen times and this is 4th time we have had an issue. We visited applebee's on New Years day with my mother in law, children, and wife. The Host was a very nice young man and should have been our server. Our server was removed and didn't seem too enthused about being at work today. We ordered the 2 for 20 deal and didn't receive the appetizer till after we received the meal.The drinks came momnets before the food . I guess I have to stop by the bar to get a beer while I wait. Because we ordered the beer first and had to wait another 15 minutes to order the food. And didn't receive the beer. we waited another 30 minutes after we ordered the food to receive the food. So we waited 45 minutes for our drinks. We ordered sub onion rings and received fries . Which were cold french fries. We were charged for the mozzarella sticks that were part of the deal. We had to ask for them adjust the bill. We had to speak with two mangers who we never saw the 2 hours we were there come on the floor once. Until they had to adjust our bill. We gave her 65 bucks and the manager who took the money never returned with the change. We waited another 5-10 minutes she never returned. I asked the hostess when I left where I could enter the daily drawing to win the 1ooo dollars . She said she had never heard of the contest or drawing. I had to go back to the kitchen door to track down another server he said the drawing was on my receipt. I saw my waitress and asked her for my change and check. I tipped her 5 dollars and the only reason she received that was because the government taxes servers. My burger was suppose to be no pink it was pink and looked man handled with the cheese sliding off. I will never return to applebees. read more

I went to Applebees for lunch yesterday and for the most part enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly and the service was good. However, I would not order the clam chowder. Not only does Applebees buy it in a big bag, it has absolutely no flavor and has a really strange texture to it, Now I wonder if anything there is homemade? Food was great! Service was horrible. Called in an order and it was 15 minutes later time selected online. They had 45 minutes notice. While waiting was pretty much ignored by bartender. Then my son was scolded for sitting on a barstool. She could have asked in a more friendly way for him to get down. But that's what a quiet 5 year old does (sit) when he has to wait 20 minutes. The dish that will always bring me back to a restaurant is a great salad. I had enjoyed a couple of salads at Applebee's in Tacoma in the past and was glad they were coming to GH. The GH Applebee's has disappointed me twice. The entree salad was so small, I left unsatisfied, this was an ENTREE salad, it was the size of a side salad. My lunch companions felt the same way. I will not be returning. The server was very attentive, but, a bit loud, when he was greeting the tables around us we couldn't hear each other during our conversation. read more
