Instead of being informed about the issue, the customer's meal was quietly removed and comped. Lye is extremely dangerous if ingested. After the incident, one of the cooks reportedly became sick after tasting the food to confirm what was used and had to be taken to the hospital. He was then instructed not to say anything about what happened. This situation is very concerning and raises serious questions about safety and management. The handling of this incident was irresponsible, and those in charge particularly management should be held accountable.

When you consider many places will use inferior brands for their rail drinks and/or water them down, not only did they not do that, but Embassy's choice to have good brands for rails help. For our breakfasts we enjoyed Omelette station prep to order along with a very well stocked, fresh and well prepared buffet of mains and sides of including but not limited to bacon, potatoes and sausage, etc. along with peach juice and coffee. Given the need to stay at a relatively inexpensive location while in Richmond, I must say, I recommend it to all.
