Two stars because the server was polite, they gave me a military discount, and the shrimp Parmesan topper was very good. I ordered the shrimp Parmesan sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes and garlic green beans. You could not taste the garlic in the green beans or in the mashed potatoes, and while the steak was cooked medium rare as I asked, it was so tough you could see the marks on it where the jockey had been hitting it. The only reason I didn't send it back, was because I was on a time crunch for a show at the uptown theater. I usually get good food at Applebee's, But this one really missed the mark. This experience was horrible!!! We went to Happy Hour after watching a movie. We were sat down and it was air conditioned. Score since it was 98 degrees outside. Waited and waited for service. Waitress finally came and we ordered drinks...Happy Hour. I got a Lemon Drop that tasted like straight vodka and my husband got a Strawberry Margarita which tasted like strawberry juice and margarita mix. Order drink number two which was two margaritas...tasted like margarita mix...no alcohol. We did get two snacks which were delivered with no plates. We asked for plates and a worker said okay but never came back with a plate. A waitress that wasn't our waitress asked if everything was okay at which point I told her no. She then brought us plates and water. Finally I flagged down our waitress and told her our drinks felt like we were drinking straight margarita mix. Could we have a shot of alcohol which took her about ten minutes to comply. When we got the bill we realized that none of our drinks were on the Happy Hour Menu and we walked away with a $55.00 tab and an awful experience. We just aren't regular Applebee customers to know the menu and the waitress didn't explain for us to get the Happy Hour price. We walked away and told ourselves it is much better to go to a better restaurant and pay a higher dollar because you get ten times better service. I had to ask twice for server to provide plate, utensils and water in separate occasions. Food is lousy. Had a tomato bistro bisque was salty looks like it came straight out of a can. This is the second time going to this location. Party of 6 and a couple of us hungry. So we get greeted and seated right away. No server, waiter of anyone to acknowledge us. My husband goes and speaks with the individual who sat us (as I believe he was the bartender as well) wondering what's going as it had been 10-15 minutes waiting. No waters NOTHING! It made me even more upset to see servers passing by and making no acknowledgement, just passing through to drop off the other orders and pick up tabs. This location really doesn't have it together. The last time was an employee baby shower and they were more focused on that than their tables. The service then though was a bit better unlike today where their was no acknowledgment at all. Dominic, the host was rude and obnoxious. We were there Wednesday night, there were several tables which needed to be bussed but he just stood around and chatted with workers. We wanted to sit at the bar, there were several tables open yet he said there wasn't a space for us. But the money spent and the time that elapsed while trying to get my fill wasn't worth the experience the menu was printed on. The way this place has a chokehold on me with the stupid Asian chicken salad! I finally had to quit door dashing this place bc it's 50/50 the order will come correct. Over cooked burgers, a hair seared into the patty one time was egregious but it's usually more minor problems of not reading ticket modifications. With that comes missing ingredients or wings tossed in sauce when they should be dry, forgotten drinks or extra sauces that were charged for etc. and that's just carelessness. It came to the point I started going directly to the source leaving out doordash. First week, everything perfect and ready when stated for pick up. Second week, same exact order and time of day, order ready 20 mins past stated pick up time which if everything was fine wouldn't be that big of deal. Car side pick up due to rain, I asked if everything was good and was confirmed with a yes. Got home to the burger over cooked, Alfredo jammed into a small togo soup container, missing dressing for wings, missing ice cream from dessert, missing mozzarella sticks. I called to inquire regarding the missing items and since I didn't want to drive back in the rain to pick them up he took my email and I was told a manager would follow up with me. It's more than a week later with no follow up. Salad was fire tho. My suggestion if you do order togo- do not let the server leave the side of your vehicle until you check every inch of the order just in case, as unless you decide to go out of your way to fix their mistakes no one even cares enough to follow up. read more

What 5 stars for Applebee's Well yes and no, Applebee's gets 3 stars for the food, the extra 2 stars are because they supported special Olympics on the night we were there with the Tip a Cop fundraiser. We walked in and the place was full of cops, City cops, Highway Patrol, County Sheriff at least one from every jurisdiction in the area. The cops help the staff, serve the customer, some were better at it than others but they took time out of their evening to support special Olympics and give more to the communities they serve and make a difference with a very good cause. We've lived in Yountville for three years now and have been fortunate enough to dine at several of the well know eateries. Today, after a movie, we thought we would try Applebee's. One word...AMAZING!! It was spotless (I notice these things). Our server, Eserpanza, was the BEST we've had in years! She was attentive, cheerful, helpful and just an all around delightful person. Horrible experience as soon as we walked in. The server (Thyena) at the door just pointed towards some tables and was like you can sit over there. We looked at each confused because there were a several tables open and we were like which one? And she just points again, in the direction of a few empty tables. So we just picked one and sat. I asked for the manager to see what was protocol because the 2 sets of other people (non-black) came in after us were escorted to their tables with menus and cutlery and we weren't. Manager (Danielle) her excuse was "its not you, we're just busy, don't take it personal".... No they weren't busy and yes, I'm absolutely taking it personal. We ordered our food and chatted amongst ourselves. We waited forever for our food (the people that came in after us ate and left before we got our food) and when I got it, it had bacon on the plate. I specifically said to put on a separate plate, as I don't eat meat but someone else in my party can eat it. Jennifer (Bartender/Server) put her hands up like I was annoying her because I said I didn't want it because the bacon was on the plate touching my other food. What you're not going to do is be annoyed and be rude to me. What you are going to do, is give good customer service to everyone that walks in the door because that's what you are being paid to do. I'm still smiling, happy, no negative tone, talking as a normal person would while asking for the manager, again. The new manager (Mixti) was way more understanding when telling her everything we experienced from the beginning... all the while the other manager (Danielle) was standing in the back smirking. Why the smirk? Is this your protocol when people of color come in to the Resturant. Corporate definitely will hear about this. The food is meh. Their firecracker shrimp pasta is an odd fusion dish of Mexican, Chinese&Italian. The mac&cheese with chicken tenders is a bizarre combination. Their wonton tacos are average. Their pasta dishes tend to be YUGE and overly rich. One assumes the "trinity" of ingredients in the Applebee's kitchen are: butter, oil&meat. It's the kind of food that would inspire anyone to become vegan, if not militantly so. The desserts can be summed up as sugar&dairy. That's it. Since the Peruvian was demanding the World Cup soccer game and didn't have a better solution, we ended up here. They graciously seated us 15 minutes before they were even open. The food is what it is ... deep fried and mediocre. But we got to *watch* the Brazil vs Ivory Coast game while listening to Phil Collins. I ordered the strawberry perfect margarita ... which was terrible. It was too sweet, too tart and no amount of ice / watering it down was going to redeem bad tequila and cheap strawberry flavoring. The wonton pulled pork tacos offended me so much, we had to order them. It's like if our friend's Jenny (Chinese) and Erik (Mexican) had a child together. Bad combo. It serves no further purpose for me to talk more about the other food we ordered - since the rest was pretty average. Still, the service was nice and friends were happy since they got to watch the game and have a Blue Moon (on tap) so I'll give it 3 stars. Well I must say that Applebee's have made a change. The last two trips were a disaster but I can say that today's dinner was greatly improved. First our waiter Jimmie P was the best I have encountered for some time. He was polite and made sure that our dining experience was outstanding. The food did come staggered, but overall I think that they are making the changes that they needed to do. The food was prepared correctly, not over cooked, and everything was at the right temperature. My partner stated that she was happy that she came here for dinner and that everything was really good. Good job to the management and the staff. The sign of a professional is not if they are perfect but when they hear that they made a mistake that they learn from this and then try to change That they don't ask "why". Before I would love going to Applebee's to order the same thing! I loved it. I went in with my 3 friends to have an early celebration for our graduation. We waited 15 minutes for our order. We finally got our meal, then my two friends asked for 2 more sprites. My friends waited 30 minutes for their drinks to the point we already finished our food. I decided to give it another shot so my boyfriend & I went . As soon as we got there we'd have to wait 20 minutes to be seated... so many tables were open & clean. So many. I love coming here but sometimes certain items need serious improvement. I'm sorry but the half rack of ribs are subpar. I got 0 to no meat of the ribs. it was mostly bone which is funny because for 14$ I could go to walmart and get their ribs (3-8$) which are more moister and pack full of meat on the bone compared to applebees. Other than that the meat that I did have (barely) was moist and fall off the bone. Loved the asian chile sauce though, it had a nice kick. Service overall is great if not excellent. I'll start off right away by saying that we didn't even get our appetizers, we waited and waited and finally our entrees come out and we're sitting there with a dumbfounded look on our face... This was the worst experience I've ever had at an Applebee's before. Oh where do i begin? We came here at around 10 and didn't expect much (standards were low already due to prior experience). Took one bite of this and knew that if I ate anymore I would be sick. 1 Quesadilla Cheeseburger. -According to my brother, this was the somewhat *star* of the meal in a meal that had no stars. He said it was good, and he feels fine so that's good. But he ate none of his fries, which were also disgusting. 1 Club Sandwich My dad ordered this and he was the real recipient of the screw over here. His sandwich came out looking gross, and he asked for EXTRA bacon, and he got NONE in the process. The manager came out and gave him his bacon, but by then the sandwich was cold, thr bacon was greasy and disgusting, and the whole meal had almost completely went wrong. He ate most of it, but felt completely sick afterwards, and regrets doing so. I don't even FEEL like going into the appetizers. Price- 65$ Tip: 10$ Total: 75$. I do not recommend going to this Applebee's, at least for the time being. I ordered a Medium-Rare 8oz Steak with vegetables, a rather simple meal. Not only did it take 45 minutes of waiting (in a rather empty restaurant), I've decided to call upon my server asking if my order had been done. A few minutes later I was greeted to a well-done steak, which is far from medium-rare. Not only that, I can tell that my plate has been sitting out for a while as the food was already getting cold. I am stuck between blaming the cook, the server, or the entire restaurant. The server had said that there was only 1 cook today, and I don't doubt that, but if the cook is going to cook my steak wrong, I'd at least want it when it is done, not much later when I have to remind my server that I ordered something. The restaurant seemed understaffed today, so I can't say this will be your experience all the time. But my experience with how my food was cooked and how late the server was shouldn't be ignored. read more
