Applebee's is always a decent fast food restaurant dining experience. I like to stop here after a good work out for a steak to add some protein in my diet. So far my steak has always been cooked perfectly, so no complaints there. My husband always orders a myriad of different dishes on each subsequent visit and sometimes he's elated with the food and sometimes he's just meh. I do notice that most likely due to COVID issues the restaurant seems to be extremely understaffed. The servers are all running around like mad people trying to keep things straight. This last visit our charming server was taking our order and a teenage girl walked up to our table and interrupted to say "we want our check". Rude much? All in all, the food is decent, the wait was average, but it was busy as heck at around 8 pm on a Tuesday. Went and picked up a online order, got my food and went home. When I got home I started to eat the food, first I tried the spinach and artichoke dip, it was drenched in salt. Long story short all the items I purchased were salty and I threw everything away. It honestly made some sick cause all my items were over seasoned Such a disappointment and waste of money. The absolute WORST service experience I have ever had. My fiancé, myself and our two kids sat down here this evening at around 5:15pm. We were greeted after sitting down for 10-15 minutes (on a slow night with 25 patrons tops in the whole restaurant but a full staff with 2 Hosts. We put our drinks in and when the douche kanoo waiter came back I kindly asked him for a few minutes longer to make our decision... He came back 23 MINUTES later... After thinking back about his face, he looked annoyed that I asked for more time because my sons (10 and 7 with one having type 1 diabetes were in a bit of a mood.) So because he was taking so long I went to the host stand and just called it quits for eating there, made more sense to pay for our drinks and get it to go. After requesting a to go order, it took the to go order waitress another 13 minutes to come out from the back... with 0 to go orders being picked up. The hostess was even confused to why she was taking so long... Then after coming out I placed my order in and it took 25 additional minutes to get our food.. We came home only to find 2 mozzarella sticks in both orders of mozzarella sticks and 3 chicken tenders for a meal that always comes in 6's. These pieces of chicken tenders legit are a quarter large, the level of pettiness is unreal. We called three times to the store and requested a manager and every time were left on hold for 10+ minutes. This was the most ridiculous food industry experience I've ever had, I'm mortified. For a person that has had so many friends working there in the past and has spent a ton of money on the restaurant chain...... I'm done. read more

Haven't eaten at Applebee's for YEARS we Forgot Why. I had eaten breakfast before heading to the hospital for a several hour proceedure. I was starving Apple's was the closest. We were seated right away with my wheelchair. We took. several minutes to look at ALL the menus. First thing NO STELLA BEER Happy Hour, $6.50 Dos on tap. Ordered soup, steak and chicken fettuccini. We waited and waited and waited finally the soup arrived, waited, waited, waited and dinners came. Steak cooking in the hot skillet cooking to WELL DONE Liver, Pasta and chicken was completely dried out. My poor husband was so hungry he dug in. I had shared my soup, but I had to send my dinner back. I NEVER REORDER (spit). To weak and tired Came home ate some more soup. Since this is to be a weekly thing with the hospital we were hoping to stop each week, NOT!! The food itself looked really good had it NOT BEEN SETTING UNDER THE WARMER SINCE YOU COULD NOT TOUCH MY THE PLATE SO SCALDING HOT. I don't think it was the kitchen with the problem it was the wait staff just plain lazy and slow. New law over$15-16 per hour, NO MORE TIPPING UNLESS PROFESSIONAL SERVICE ABOVE PAY GRADE. read more

Last night I went to this Applebee's late at night for dinner after work. I will be honest, I only came here because everything else was closed. I am vegan, so coming in my expectations were not very high since this restaurant is usually not very veggie friendly. Well, they actually impressed me. The service was super nice. My waitress was kind to suggest some options. I wondered if I could get a pasta with some veggies so it is a bit more than just pasta and red salsa (this is not on the menu) and they were kind enough to accommodate that. The kitchen manager (I think) brought me the plate himself and it was delicious. I got to eat plenty of veggies with my pasta and I loved it. I recommend anyone to come to this Applebee's location. The great customer service makes a great difference in your dine in experience and they open late. I'll be back soon! Hands down to the staff! read more

Nice location next to Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn. Hostess opened the door for us. Walking in there was a fairly strong odor. Wondered if something burned in the kitchen recently. We did the two for twenty which is a fairly good deal. Except everything here is measured. Burger has cheese but no veggies (lettuce, pickle, tomato, etc.). Just a patty, American cheese, some sauce and a bun. A whiff of the fries gives lead to the odor. Apparently the frier oil has not been changed in a while. Or, something over cooked in the frier since the last change? Amazing how powerful that scent can be. Garden side salads were fresh. Immortal Space Dust (IPA) is a nice find at an Applebee's. Chicken strips are mediocre. I don't expect much at an Applebee's except good value. Similar to McDonald's but you get table service and beer. Functional for a meal but I think I would prefer sitting outside (not available for lunch today). Service staff are trained well but the kitchen staff needs to keep a better eye on the frier. Actually that's pretty huge as would improve restaurant odor and quality of the fried food. read more

Pretty standard Applebee's experience. 2 things to note - 1. I don't recommend using that tablet that they leave on the table to place your order - stick with the server! We were really hungry and thought it would speed up our meal, but it actually ended up just taking longer to enter everything in, and there was a glitch in the system where one item was showing up on our screen, but not showing up in the kitchen. Our waiter basically had to come and read the screen for himself to put the order in anyways, so this was a big waste of time. 2. I ordered a steak medium well, but it came out closer to medium rare. The server was gracious enough to take it back to cook it a bit more. So be prepared for a possible mixup in the cooking if you're ordering steak (which I don't recommend, I don't even know what I was thinking ) read more

I wanted to bring in lunch for clients but they were so busy and suggested Applebees to go. Ordering online is a piece of cake and I arrived at Applebees where there are 3 preferred parking spots for will call and the separate entry door makes it very convenient. As soon as I entered the entrance, I was greeted by an employee who was friendly and told me all she had to do was get my drinks and my order was ready. I ended up picking up getting lunch for 5 people including beverages. I chose the Chinese chicken grilled salad and an iced tea which was plenty filling and yummy. Overall, the whole process was painless, convenient and the food has healthy options. I'll definitely be using Applebees to go or dine in more frequently the future. read more

This Applebee's is so bad. Avoid here if you can. Go to Burgers & Beer instead. I got the late night munchies and only this was open in the area, but I will never come back here again. We had the 2 salads instead of an appetizer since appetizers were half off anyway (we arrived during happy hour: 9 pm till closing). We ordered the chicken wonton tacos for appetizer. The chicken wasn't too bad. There were 4 on a plate for ~$5. My Caesar's salad was so average and drenched in dressing. I had the Chicken Freshcado. It looked so much better in the picture.. The chicken was so dry, flavorless, and blah. I barely touched it. The sirloin was supposed to be medium, but it was more like well done. The side of corn had too much black pepper. My friend who got the shrimp & sirloin thought it was just ok. His dish also came with 2 sides. Service is what makes this place even worse. I understand that there aren't very many customers at 9 pm, but that doesn't mean you ignore them. I had to ask twice for everything because the server just didn't do his job. The food took a long time to get out. The party who came in after we did almost left because their food took so long. I had such a bad experience here. This Applebees restaurant located in Palm Desert was next door to the hotel I was staying at. Service started very slow, being seated after a wait, watching for the server pass me by for 5 minutes, to finally getting someone to come by and take my order. After this episode, I thought my experience would be predictably horrible for the rest of the stay. Amazingly, everything reversed and came out with very good service after that. Food and drink came out quick and the server came by multiple times to check on my progress. I don't know what caused the improvement but I did rate this place correctly. The clientele is a much older crowd, lots of retirees and elderly tourists that perhaps contributed to the initial slow service. read more

Stopped here due to it being next to my hotel and open later than 9. Called in an order to go (20 min est. wait time). Surprised this place can still serve food with the readily apparent lack of quality. Food was not ready on time, even though the restaurant was maybe 40% full. The two wait staff that I spoke to were very kind and helpful, but you can tell the kitchen was in disarray based off of the confusion they were displaying. I got the oriental chicken wrap; chicken was very dry and way too crispy (crunchy like burned bread). The tortilla is stale and when bitten into, crumbles into dust and pieces. Veggies in the wrap seem OK, but there is no way I would even try to order this again with the main ingredients the way they were. Suggest traveling elsewhere if you are not looking for a fast food and are looking for something you can enjoy. Especially after paying as much as I did for this, it's ridiculous. read more
