Absolutely do not waste your time or money at this place. I was served water that had a strong chemical taste--something was clearly off, like it had been sitting somewhere it shouldn't have. On top of that, the level of unprofessionalism was hard to ignore. Staff seemed more focused on their phones than on serving customers, and the overall service was disorganized and inattentive. I asked for an apple juice for my daughter when we sat down and didn't receive it until the food came out. When I followed up a second time, the server responded with "yes please," which made no sense and added to the confusion. The food itself was mediocre at best--maybe a 5 out of 10. For the prices they're charging, you'd be better off going somewhere like Chili's, where at least you know what kind of service and quality to expect. I won't be returning.

    Big deal menu

The place was remodeled after a grease fire. The inside is nice. Places under new management. Our server Kim was fantastic. The value menu is a great deal. Will often visit this new or renewed location. This week We came back again. Our server Ivy was awesome. The big deal meal is a good value beats chilies. Also offer a Veterans discount. A+++ to this restaurant

The food was 3/5 which is interesting because normally I'd love Applebees food but it was not that great this time around. I'm giving it an overall 4/5 because my server Brandon was fantastic! His service was a 5/5 for sure. Attentive and friendly. The sampler platter was okay. I didn't touch the chips because the spinach dip was not good. I tried it twice and couldn't continue. The other food was alright. My four Mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken seemed like it'd be packed with flavor but again it was just okay. The best thing by far was one of this month's specialty drink, the Berry Merry Colada. It was great!

The restaurant was not very busy but it was staffed for an army. The staff was on their phones and ignored the customers. The food was sloppy and the steak was very fatty and chewy. The .50 boneless wings are just chicken nuggets. The assistant manager was very sweaty and had a strong odor. He was polite though

The food was very good however when I ordered chicken wings I realized that they were just chicken tenders with bbq sauce on them so. The service was very nice and they check on you thoroughly, the only issue was when I asked for the dessert menu and she brought me a check thought I believe that was just a mistake. It was a bit cold but it was clean, the table didn't have any crumbs and was very clean.

Ashley promptly waited on us and met our needs throughout our lunch. She provided solid recommendations that we tried, with happy results! Two in our party had cheeseburgers, accurately customized and accompanied by delicious crisp fries. The burgers were the right balance of beef, cheese, fixings, and bun. The portion was large. I enjoyed the grilled chicken tortilla wrap, with lean breast meat, vegetables, and crispy Asian noodles. Social distancing and safety precautions were all adhered to. We enjoyed our meal of entrees under $10 each.

Yes service is a hit or miss but the food is always good. They always have great deals and the portions are decent.

Whether it's the NFL Sunday Ticket, March Madness, or local Penn State games, the atmosphere is loud, proud, and electric. Arooga's built its reputation on its wings, which have consistently taken home top honors at the Buffalo Wing Festival (winning titles like "America's Next Top Restaurant Franchise" and multiple "Simply the Best" awards from Harrisburg Magazine). You can choose between: Original: Bone-in, extra-large, and crispy. Boneless: Hand-breaded and never frozen. Guiltless: Un-breaded and baked for a lower-calorie option. The real star of the show is the selection of over 30 proprietary sauces and rubs. They range from the beginner-friendly to the "I-need-a-glass-of-milk" level. Highlights include: Signature Favorites: Almost Everything (a cult classic), Kangarooga, and Coal Cracker. Sweet & Savory: Hickory Smoked Honey BBQ and Mango Habanero. Extreme Heat: Sudden Death and the infamous Ghost Face Killa. While the wings get the trophies, the strombolis (or "Bolis") are a sleeper hit on the menu. The Original Boli: A hefty blend of ham, Genoa salami, mozzarella, provolone, and--uniquely--mustard, served with a side of marinara. Buffalo Chicken Boli: Stuffed with their signature buffalo chicken dip and mozzarella, it's a massive, gooey meal that's perfect for sharing (or not). Since it first opened in 2008 (starting in Harrisburg before expanding to York), Arooga's has mastered the formula of "better-than-average" bar food. It's a Certified Green Restaurant, so you can feel a little better about that mountain of wings. If you want a quiet intimate dinner, keep driving--but if you want a beer flight, 40 different sauce options, and every game on at once, this is your spot.

Mom got the chicken sandwich and I got a summer salad with steak and raspberry vinaigrette. Ordered two soft drinks. Soups came out. They looked terrible. Tasted okay but not the best. Tasted like a frozen bagged soup. Mom's sandwich was decent but very spicy. My salad was awful. The steak was cold and raw. I thought maybe if I put the dressing on it maybe it would be okay. It was franks red hot not raspberry vinaigrette. I pushed it aside. Our drinks came after the food and our server never came back to check in. My mom shared her sandy with me. Sitting on the patio area was nice but the music was awfully loud. Wasn't a fan of that. I never saw our server again. I went to the host stand to ask for the check and told her if not paying for the salad. Wouldn't recommend this place. The food at best is what would would get at a concession stand at a water park. We made reservations as we know it gets rather busy. Reservations are highly suggested for Friday / Saturday nights. Large parking area outback the whole is packed full, which is generally a good sign in a restaurant. We arrived and we're promptly seated and our waiter arrived to take our drink order shortly thereafter. I had a desert bloom and Bestie had a sangria, rum punch concoction. Desert bloom was delicious. Nice change for a margarita. For apps, I had the French onion soup, which was absolutely delicious perfectly caramelized, onions, nice baguette plenty of cheese. Topped with a crispy onion broth was flavorful. She had the burrata which was a meal in it of itself came in a large salad plate with dressed leaves and strawberries, and a side of crusty bread. For means I got the cioppino and she had the angel hair with shrimp. The cioppino came with a wonderful large slice of grilled bread with an Uni butter, which was absolutely delicious. The broth of that stew was absolutely AMAZING. So rich and flavorful I could've died on that alone. It was full of seafood..... crab, claws, shrimp mussels, fish it was more than enough for two meals. Crab claws were great. The one thing I didn't like. I expected crab claws, and even muscles in the shell. But the tails on the shrimp is frustrating for me, in any dish like that, but I survived lol. Bestie was smarter than me and asked if the shrimp and her dish came with tails on, they did. She then asked if they would remove the tails which the waiter said yes they would so she requested and they obliged. Even though we were stuffed, we want to try some dessert. She had the dark side of the moon cake, and I had the Greek Panna cotta. Both were absolutely delicious. The cake was rich chocolatey just everything you would expect from an overindulge dessert. The Panna cotta was absolutely the perfect ending to the meal. It was covered with a sour cherries and small almond cookies - wonderful, flavor profile - worked so well together. Service was friendly. Price point was amazing. My meal with a drink before tip was $58. For the quality and amount of food I had and considering the giant bowl of seafood stew it was a great value. First post is on our regular rotation for Friday night dinners I haven't tried their brunch. But if you haven't tried The First Post and are looking for something not necessarily upscale, but also not of the Chili's Applebee's vein, consider giving them a try out in East York.
