We had them out for an upright freezer not holding freezing temps well and the tech cleared out some ice from the drainage area. It worked fine for a couple of months. However, we later found out FROM ANOTHER REPAIR COMPANY that there was also ice formed BEHIND a panel that Appliance Rescue Service didn't even check. We later had Appliance Rescue Service come look at a dishwasher problem, and was quoted almost $500 to fix it. OTHER REPAIR COMPANY is going to fix it for $225. So while we initially liked Appliance Rescue Service, we come to find out they are less than thorough in their assessment, and also overpriced. We do NOT recommend them. read more

They got back to me quickly after my request for service, had someone scheduled for two days out, and Billy was there on time, very polite, extremely knowledgable and was able to quickly diagnose the problem with our ice maker. This required a part which he said could take around a week, but they had the part in 2 days and he was scheduled to install the part the next day. While here I asked him a question about my dishwasher and in a few minutes he had that figured out and replaced a bad part that was in the truck. Absolutely great service. Thank you! read more

This is an *amazing* repair group - easily one of the most experience service techs we've ever had in our home. We weren't able to use our normal favorite because he doesn't service Samsung fridges (which btw if you own a GE, you may actually own a GE box with Samsung guts. This is not a good thing.). Anyway, our favorite recommended Appliance Rescue Service and we are so happy with the recommendation! Our icemaker replacement was about $400 and he went over everything that we need to keep an eye on - including what was and wasn't worth replacing in the fridge. Then he did the same thing for all of our kitchen appliances. (And he wasn't trying to upsell us to fix anything else!) read more

I had an issue with a stack washer dryer where the dryer was making loud noises. Appliance rescue came out a total of 3 times and charged a diagnostic fee each time even though their repair did not fix it. 1st time they replaced the bearings to the dryer. This did not fix it. 2nd time they said to have the HOA clean out the dryer vent to the building because it was causing it to overheat. This did not fix it. 3rd time they replaced the dryer bearings and heating element. I spent about $1,000 in total and was not happy with the work. Such a disappointment. read more

Basically a surprise $100.00 assessment fee for the fridge problem and applying a "potentially fix" by adjusting some screws. Unfortunately the potential fix absolutely failed and I ended up having to buy a new fridge anyhow. However, Mitchell was nice, professional, seemed knowledgeable and gave helpful advice for all my appliances. A $30.00 assessment would of made much more sense. read more

These guys were pretty good! My freezer broke down on friday and then my fridge broke down on saturday... just as i bought a ton of groceries to host a party on saturday night! talk about terrible timing. unfortunately they couldn't come the same day.. can't blame them there. they came out monday.. he figured it out in five seconds what the problem was. He came back on wed with the defunct part and fixed it in 10 min. only reason why not 5 stars? the receptionist or the repair guy did not seem to know the same information... pricing was different and part availability was different too from what they told me. one said they could waive the service fee and come back next day... other person said no. usually tha'ts not a problem b/c timing isn't the most urgent, but honestly, it's just very stressful to not have the same info b/c you're just trying to save the food that's in the fridge/ freezer.. but yeah, by the time they got their stuff together and came on wed... we still ended up probably losing several hundred bucks worth of food. :( read more

Our Bosch dishwasher was not draining water out of the bottom and had an E:24 error. A dishwasher is like an air conditioner to me...when they go out, I call repair people immediately! After my experience, I would not use them again. WHAT HAPPENED I called this company because they were listed on Yelp and seemed to have good reviews. When I called the office, the staff were friendly and professional. They said there was an $89 service/trip charge which did not apply to what was found, but the cost would be based on time spent and repair needed. I was told Billy would be out to fix it later the same day. Billy was friendly, liked my dog and talked about casinos. He said the code meant a clog somewhere. He opened the D/W, pushed the reset and program buttons to see about it draining. He left to go out and get a narrow hose to put down the overflow valve on top of the counter. It went in just fine, but my husband and I had already checked that the previous day along with seeing if there was a kink under the sink. He got under the sink for a couple of minutes, pushed the buttons on the D/W again, but nothing was coming out of the overflow. I walked over to the living room for a few minutes and when I walked back he said a big hunk of something came out and went into the sink after I walked away. $95+ later, he started the dishwasher and was gone. He did leave the hose for me with instructions on how to use it and take the cap off the overflow valve. Oh well, if the dishwasher works that's all that matters. At 3:45 p.m., I had to call the office to say the dishwasher was not draining again. When Billy arrived the next morning (2 hours early), I was still in bed. He immediately got under the sink and had brought a pail inside to drain the line (something he did not do the previous day). He said there was some lettuce and a carrot. I did not see him clean or wash any filters or anything. He was here about 15-20". This review is 3 days later and so far, so good. It's very inconvenient to have someone come back to do things a second time that they should have gotten right the first time. This was not a great first impression for this company. I will use someone different next time. I gave them a rating of a 3 because they were friendly, prompt and the office staff was professional. read more

GROSSLY OVERCHARGED by this company! Paid $432.95 for a 24 minute installation of a $55.00 part (cost of the part)! Thought this seemed really high so I checked around and got another quote of $160.00 for the same service. When I called to discuss the charge I was told by Natalie, "we charged $99 for the part and $300 for labor, that's not expensive for our service". After more research I found there are other similar reviews to my experience. It also appears that many of the recommendations and positive comments on this company came from the owner, Lisa Torpy Brown and her staff. DO NOT BE RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY! read more

Called Appliance Rescue for a built-in fridge that wasn't cooling adequately. For $75 someone came to our house Monday, but he wouldn't perform any repairs himself. He assessed we either needed a freon recharge ($699) or a new compressor ($3000-3400) and that the freon guy would come the next day to see if that was all we needed. Freon guy never came, and when we called Wednesday and explained the issue, were advised he would come Friday as he was booked. Since I was ticked off and wanted a 2nd bid in case we needed a pricey compressor, I called around. Most outfits refused a phone quote without incurring a $75-120 service call. Larry at Abel Appliance was the only one who'd provide a phone quote, acknowledging that the complexity of a built-in could add expense due to the time involved, but he came the next day as promised, and charged only $150 for freon. His compressor quote was $450-550, which we knew was a reasonable mark-up since Electrolux said that the compressor was $240-275, depending on other items we needed. ARS has good reviews, but after my experience and getting a competitive quote, I'd proceed with caution. read more

Mitchell, our technician, has been with Appliance Rescue for years. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He's able to diagnose an issue within minutes and provide several logical solutions to the problem. We've only had to call him out a handful of times over the many years, but he always gives us helpful 'hints' to help maintain our current appliances. We appreciate him so much. I was referred to Appliance Rescue Service but have been extremely disappointed with the end result. We called them to come out and diagnose a light that had gone out in our fridge. Our repairman seemed friendly and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue as a control panel problem, ordered us a new one (over $200), came back, took out our "old one," installed the "new one," and voila...the light was STILL out. Puzzled, Mitchell took a few days to research the problem, determined it was not fixable after all, but did not refund the cost of our control panel we were told we needed. So, we paid for a brand new control panel...that never fixed our problem. Their website says service and parts are warrantied, so I called and spoke with Carla then Natalie who said they would relay my message to owner, Lisa, multiple times over the past 6 months and still have not received a reply back. Other reputable service providers have said this is fraudulent behavior and should be reported to BBB. Unbelievable! read more

I will not use this company ever again. The cost of the repair is relatively high and the worst is the problem was not fixed. I called Appliance Rescue to fix the continuous leaking problem on my Samsung refrigerator. The technician came and spent a fairly short period of time looking for the cause of leaking and doing the fix after taking food out of the refrigerator and pulling the refrigerator out. He said that Samsung refrigerators have a design problem that causes the defrost drain to freeze. The blockage causes water to overflow and drip down to the bottom of the compartment. His fix was to cut the slit bigger(?), so the water would not overflow. The cost of the repair was $238.10 (he assured me that the amount was after waving the service call) which is relatively expensive for the time he spent on performing the repair. He said there is a 30-day warranty for his services. Before he left, he claimed he fixed the problem if I follow his instruction, and that the same problem would not come back for another 3 to 4 years. I followed his instructions (18-24 hours before plugging the refrigerator back in) and actually waited 28 hours before plugging the refrigerator back in. Four hours later, the water started dripping down again. I called the company the next day telling them the situation and made another appointment for the technician to recheck. The same technician came 3 days later while my husband was present. This time he removed the back panel of the refrigerator (he didn't do it at the first visit), and mentioned a big chunk of ice at the bottom of the fridge, which would take a few days to defrost. Then he plugged in again without trying to remove or melt the ice block and solve the problem right away. His solution is to wait until the ice block melted itself. He also told my husband that "If your wife calls us to come again for the same reason, we will charge her". I felt like he essentially told us that he would NOT honor the 30-day warranty for the exact problem he was supposed to fix. I am expecting the technician to fix the problem on site, not just to find the problem and wait for the problem to go away by itself. Four weeks have passed since then and the refrigerator is still leaking water. The 30-day warranty is useless. This company is not honest and not trustful. I will not use them again. read more

Horrible communication. Came out July 7 said we needed a part. After a week with no communication I called and was told the part was on back order with no ETA. After another week of no contact I called the manufacturer who says the part no longer made. I have been waiting days for the technician to call back and clarify the part number. Multiple follow up calls promises made but technician never calls. I will cancel and call someone else. They clearly don't care about your business. read more

My roommate noticed the washer was leaking water from the bottom, so we turned off the water, ran a few test runs, saw the problem persisted, and decided to give Appliance Rescue Service a chance. We ended up scheduling with them online, they had same-day availability, but due to our schedule we had them come out another day. The repairman that came to our door was prompt, courteous, and honest. He explained the problem to us (ended up being an improper load) and we were only charged the service fee of $64.90 after-tax. I am extremely grateful to have found this company because as single women, we often worry that repairmen will try to cheat us, but this company is not at all like that. They are clear about options so i can be comfortable about my decisions. They kept my refrigerator operating way way past its expiration date. But when the fix was going to be very expensive, they recommended a new refrigerator instead. I've never had a recall. If it's a quick fix, they will often check something else as a favor. read more

I was visiting friends in the Dallas area when their electrical stove had an issue with a flame coming from the burner. We were afraid they would need a new stove. I suggested we call a repair company first, I found Appliance Rescue online and gave them a call. That was the smartest call we made. Appliance Rescue was to able to schedule a call in a day. It turns out the rep who showed up at my friends home was actually the owner Jerry. Jerry took the time to explained what was causing the issue with the burner and what parts would be needed for the repair. Jerry was able to get the stove repaired in less then an hour, and for a small cost (as apposed to buying a new stove). My friends couldn't thank me enough for helping them find Appliance Rescue. Highly recommending Appliance Rescue! We had the heating element go out on our convection oven, and they did a quick and easy fix! Ok...they had to order the part, but it still was only a couple days for them to get the part and get to our house! This repair service is absolutely wonderful, I have used them many times over the years for repairs at my rental property as well as my primary residence. I have never had an issue that they couldn't solve. They are reasonably priced, very friendly and extremely consistent.
