Our 1.5 year old KitchenAid dishwasher stopped draining the other day. Long story long, the issue wasn't covered under warranty. When I called KitchenAid they referred me to Dino's appliance repair. So I Dino's and they told me it would be $115 to drive here and diagnose the issue. That didn't include parts or repairs. Now nothing against Dino's but I'm huge on looking at yelp reviews and after I called I looked at the reviews. Theirs reviews were less than stellar. Interesting enough a couple reviews said not to waste your time and after botched work they called appliance works and were satisfied. Now I know why! They were super friendly over the phone and set up an appointment for the next day. Plus they said it would only be $65 and better yet that money would go toward any repairs. Sold. My husband was running behind schedule getting home today and our tech was accommodating. I immediately pictured someone staring at the dishwasher for three seconds and telling us that it would be hundreds of dollars to fix. Nope, he found the issue, fixed it, and showed us how to fix it going forward. Im ridiculously happy having my dishwasher working properly again. Our freezer ice maker seemed to be leaking and would frost up and develop "icicles". Mathew came out and determined it was a bad ice maker and rather replace a very expensive built in it would be best to just replace the ice maker. It does take a bit of time after replacing it to make ice, but it is now working just fine read more

I called Appliance Works for a repair on my Kenmore washing machine. The tech arrived same day inspected the machine had the necessary parts, gave me a quote which I accepted. He repaired the door latch saying this particular model is very good and does not require servicing until something goes wrong. He also said to partially fill up the tub with water, open door put in some white distilled vinegar to clean out any built up 'stuff' i.e. link deposits. do this every 60-90 days. Very thankful. Appliance works came to our home to help with a dead fridge. Sadly the dent and scratch place we purchased the fridge from 5 years prior had removed stickers and we were unable to repair without additional details. Appliance works was way more understanding than I had imagined and charged us no fees to come out (mind blown), knowing our only option was to purchase a new fridge a few days before Christmas. The second time appliance works came to our home was to help with my beloved washer, as a cloth diapering foster mom our washer is used and used and well loved. They did a great job, responsive and on time. The only challenge was the person repairing my appliance was a very heavy smoker and the smell of cigarette smoke was abundant where he walked and the room he worked. It took about an hour or more for the smell to disappear. read more

This company is a scam they fixed my dryer charged me $205 and some change the dyer broke again 5 days later they came back five days later instead of the same day with a diagnosis that the unit needs to be fixed again with the same problem and willing to charge me another $205, this was the only option they gave me. Excellent customer service. Jennifer in the office was pleasant and professional. She listened to what I needed and scheduled me for a service call. Chris arrived and looked at my problem and asked relevant questions and suggested that I call the manufacturer (which I had already done and was told "it isn't covered"). He suggested 2 options for repair with quotes for both. He then called several part departments to locate the parts. He ordered the part and it arrived within a week. Chris returned and replaced the hinge and the door is better than when the appliance was originally delivered. I will call them for all my appliance repairs! read more

To be honest, I didn't have any repairs completed...because Chris (the repair tech), who was right on time, was so honest and forthcoming about a known issue regarding the compressor in my 2011 LG refrigerator. The original warranty was for seven years (just missed it), but due to issues with the compressor there was an extension ordered. Chris suggested I go through LG and ended up saving me a lot of money. Because of Chris' honesty and integrity, I will most definitely be giving Appliance Works a call when the need arises. Also, when I called to make my appointment, the lady in the office (Penny, I believe) was doing everything possible to get me in that day...thankfully, we have a beer fridge that I could use in the meantime. The company was very reasonable and responsive. The repairman was friendly and put up with the overstimulation of my five kids. All would have been wonderful if our refrigerator had actually been fixed. In fact, I had already begun composing a rave review for Appliance Works. I believe the main thing they did to solve our problem was replacing the freezer seal. Unfortunately, the problem is worse than when we first called them out. I called them today and the soonest they can get out is in a couple of days. Normally this would be reasonable except it seems they have worsened the problem and now we're looking at losing hundreds of dollars in food after spending hundreds of dollars with this company. Not to mention what our electric bill will look like from a continually running and struggling unit. I believe I am a patient and reasonable person (I'm a high school teacher, after all). I called Appliance Works to come out and fix my washing machine. The technician, Ty was friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that he reset the codes for my washing machine and that if the issue persisted to call into the shop and tell them to order a new motherboard. After he left I was excited to finally do a load of laundry. Halfway through the spin cycle my washing machine stopped spinning so I called into the shop to order the part. I talked to the receptionist and she was very nice. She said she would talk to Ty and order the part later that day. Two weeks go by and I had head nothing so I called and left a message asking for an update because at this point I've been without a washing machine for almost a month. When I checked my phone about a hour later I noticed I had a missed call from Appliance Works so I called them back. A different older woman who I'd never talked to before answered the phone. I introduced myself and inquired as to when the part would be in. She told me that she had just ordered the part the day prior and asked why I was calling. I told her I simply wanted to see when the the part was going to be in and I asked her why it had taken over two weeks to order the part when I had called it in two weeks ago. She was very rude and short with me. It's been over a month since my last contact with Appliance Works and I still haven't heard anything back. I called another repair shop and they verified the problem and had the part ordered and installed within 72 hours. I definitely wouldn't recommend going with these guys. Elite Appliances came out the same day, was cheaper, and kept me informed every step of the way. Six weeks "waiting" for a part is absolutely ridiculous especially when another company can get the exact same part in 72 hours. read more

Hilarious but true story. I called three other companies before going with Appliance Works. I called Sears Home Service, I think I called Mexico or Spain the guys accent was thick, there was a little inability to understand one another and unfortunately the guy was more interested in up-selling me on a contract and some other in home b.s. forget it. I called Dr. Appliance now I'm calling Russia I think, accent even thicker! lol The guy's communication skills where that of a tree, not to mention I researched where the business was located and I get a picture of a house... no thanks! I called Affordable Appliance Repair Group and well they didn't call me back, matter of fact not till three days later did they try to reach me BUT by email, horrible!! So, I called Appliance Works Monday and a pleasant / accommodating customer service lady answered, says they can get someone out in the same day that evening. I chose the next day early morning. Tuesday morning; Jeremy came out, prompt, courteous, and informative. He was able to quickly diagnose the failing component, was prepared with the part in his truck and fixed our Kenmore Elite trio french door refrigerator. Folks if it doesn't feel right don't do it, it might have taken me 4 calls but this company came through. I can only imagine the rigmarole I'd be stuck in with those other companies had I've chosen them; surly customer service people, late for the appointment, cocky or disheveled technicians, misdiagnosed, back ordered parts, overcharged parts.. egad! Had Steve from Appliance Works come out to take a look at my dishwasher. Overall impression is that he can probably replace a part on a dishwasher, but that he was also rude, condescending, and mostly incapable of critical thinking. My machine wasn't washing plastics well. I also noticed that there was some residual standing water within the dishwasher. He suggested that I try a few of the standard maneuvers (avoid gel detergent, run hot water before machine, use a dishwasher cleaner, etc). I had already tried all of these because 2 previous techs had suggested all of them. He saw in his records that one of his company's techs had previously evaluated the machine because water had leaked out of the bottom. For all 3 problems (standing water, prior leaking water, and poor washing), his solution was replacing the pump. I don't have any problem with that being the unified solution, but he was unable to articulate why the pump would cause any of those problems, which made me question the probability of that solving the problem. In addition, the first 6 solutions that he and his colleague had suggested (detergents, cleaners, etc) failed to make any difference, so I was hoping he could express why his 7th solution would be more effective, he just continued to repeat in a condescending way that the pump has to be replaced without articulating why the components could be causing the problems. He then went on to express skepticism that I had actually tried the solutions he had already presented. When I asked him to quantify his confidence in pump replacement, he said he's never been called back after replacing one, so it always works. I pointed out that it could also mean that his customers still had a problem but sought alternate solutions that didn't involve him, but he became contentious by this comment and could not understand how zero callbacks meant anything other than a 100% success rate. Combined with the fact that his equipment didn't work well and he needed me to charge his phone, I considered this a relatively unprofessional experience. At the end of the visit, he called his boss, who waived the visit fee. I consider Steve to be a one-star experience, but I can see the management of the company has a bigger picture sense of customer service, hence the upgrade to 2-stars. read more

Very disappointed. Had to wait 6 days for a tech to come look at my washer and when he came out (Jeremy) he spent 15 min looking at it and suggesting replacement parts. I asked a couple respectful questions around why he thought they needed to be replaced and how they contributed to my issue. I could tell he didn't like having to answer questions and having someone watch him work. Then he abruptly said "I don't feel comfortable working on this." "You haven't given me time to debug the problem before asking questions". I offered to watch in silence for a while and he said nope. He told me to call the manufacturer and left. Complete waste of my time and the only reason this isn't a 1 star is because he said I wouldn't be charged for the visit. read more

Ty showed up at my house on time, very professional, diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and completed the job on the low end of estimate two days later. He gets five stars. Rohan showed up late at my rental unit. He told the tenant he'd call me to discuss the repair that evening. I never heard from him. I called the next day and left a message. We recently had Appliance Works out to repair our dryer and fridge after having had them in storage for 18 months. Reggie H. was our technician. He evaluated both and provided a price for the necessary repairs. We were prepared to move forward with both repairs but Reggie double checked the fridge repairs against our manufacturer warranty through KitchenAid and determined that we should still be covered even though the unit is almost 5 years old. We followed Reggie's advice, contacted KitchenAid and they covered all the parts and labor saving us over $1400.00. They sent their own service provider but Reggie's integrity and professionalism will make us an Appliance Works customer for life. Oh, and he fixed the dryer as planned. read more

They suck I know that already) and they said they could get here Saturday. I went to yelp and found reviews for Appliance Works. They were all very good. So I called and left a message and asked them to call me, hoping I'd be able to get someone out same day... I got a call around 7:30 from a woman with a lovely South African accent. She scheduled me for between 3 and 5. Rowan came and performed the service call. He was smart and very honest. In a little more than an hour and $185 later my issues were fixed. We have used Appliance Works on several occasions for several different appliances throughout the years and I highly recommend them. As a company, they are responsive and very professional and have always sent top-notch technicians to address our problems. My most recent interaction with them was no exception. We had a dishwasher that was not actually washing dishes so we set up an appointment with them for an inspection and possible repair. We were braced for disappointment and thought we were surely going to have to either replace our dishwasher or at the very least spend a lot of money on a repair. Their technician Rowan contacted us early on in the appointment window, arrived promptly and listened to our concerns. He then performed a thorough evaluation of the dishwasher and explained how it was functioning and why certain things we observed were not actually malfunctions but specific aspects of the dishwasher function. He recommended a deceptively simple fix but offered to come back if it did not work. We tried his fix the next day and now we have a fully functioning dishwasher for the price of a home visit. Tyan was out today to repair our LG front load washer. To start he arrived earlier than scheduled but called first. He was very knowledgeable and informative regarding the repair process.
