Called Appliance Works at 10:30am on Saturday because my washer had gotten really noisy. They gave me an appointment for 3-5 the same day and the tech was here at 4. Great start! He spent a hour investigating and testing the machine and even cleaned out the drain. He didn't find anything conclusive other than the machine is aging...but the clean drain was a big bonus. And only a $55 service charge...which is less than what my home warranty would have charged if I had it covered with them. Family owned business, good service! read more

Sorry, but this time you guys dropped the ball. I called to get an estimate for my dryer that is not heating anymore. I know that i can buy the parts for about $50,on ebay, yet was quoted $228 for a fix, after much hemming and hawing over the phone. I viewed numerous vids on youtube that showed this fix taking a very short time to do...10 mins. I will not be dumping $228 on a dryer that cost me $369 to replace. This company was friendly and professional from beginning to end! The receptionist that answered the phone was great and scheduled the service at a time that worked with my schedule! I was told they would be here between 11:00-1:00. Scott called and said he was about 15 minutes away and he was here at 11:15! He was friendly, came in and diagnosed the problem within minutes and had the repair completed shortly after. I've never needed a dryer repair before and didn't have time to get different quotes, but I felt as though the cost was reasonable. From the initial phone call, the company was responsive and thorough and gave me a good sense of trustworthiness. The repair rep arrived at our home within the time slot they provided. He inspected the dryer and repaired it perfectly. Their service call fee is the most reasonable of all the companies I called on which was a high point of consideration for me given the possibility the dryer couldn't be repaired and needed to be replaced. The repair technician was very courteous and thorough with his explanation of the problem. Saved me from having to buy another dryer. I highly recommend this company. read more

After speaking with 4 other companies who were incredibly rude on the phone, and who I later discovered had received terrible reviews, I was referred to Appliance Works by another company who didn't service my side of town. I am so fortunate that they sent me to Appliance Works! The receptionist was so kind and sympathetic (broken dryer with 3 kids aged 2 and younger) they give you a realistic time frame for when they'll arrive, and the repairman arrived on time, well-groomed, and incredibly friendly. They ended up not having the part in stock, but they expedited the order and was able to fix it two days later. They didn't charge me for the first visit, and only asked for payment after everything was fixed. It was reasonable and I will be calling them the next time I need anything repaired. But of course I'm hoping that doesn't happen anytime soon. :) read more

Scott from Appliance Works repaired our Whirlpool garage fridge/freezer this morning. When I called the office 2 days prior, I was given an 8-11 window. Because I needed to leave my home at 11, I mentioned this, and the rep made note. Scott called when he was about 10 min. Away, and not only arrived soon after 8, but was finished before 8:30 a.m. He was pleasant, friendly with our dog, and efficient. There would be a $55 service call fee, I had been told in advance, but if repairs were needed, the service fee would be waived. Parts and labor were $221 for this repair. Good value for great service. Receipt emailed to desired email address. Everything was positive about this service experience. We called during the hottest time in Arizona, it was 110+ degree's every day and our ice maker on the refrigerator had stopped working. Since it wasn't a "real" emergency, we waited about a week for an appointment. Gave them all the details on the refrigerator and ice maker that we could. Person that came on appointment day...Did not have "company vehicle" and did not come prepared to fix anything. He did a quick evaluation and told us it was broken (duh) and the unit needed to be completely replaced due to the part being broken not replaceable. No problem, I tell him to get a new one from the truck......Nothing in his personal vehicle so we had to wait a few more days for a new ice maker. I have no doubt the unit needed to be replaced but I have serious issues with a company that sends a person to your house in their own private vehicle to fix something with no parts and this man should have had enough information and experience to know before he arrived that he probably should bring a new icemaker with him. The high rating is for the serviceman, who was on time, clean and professional. Not his fault his company did not provide needed supplies or vehicle to change out an ice maker on the spot - which, BTW, took him about 15 minutes to do when he came back a few days later with the new ice maker. The company could have saved a lot of time and gas by just letting him do his job in one trip, instead of inconveniencing us with a second trip. Other reason for high rating is this: We checked the price of the ice maker on line, it was the same price we paid; it is nice to know they are decent/fair on the product costs and the labor cost was absolutely fair. This was a few months ago and we have had no further issues with the ice. Works like a charm. SO if you need something fixed right, at the right price, and its not an emergency, this is the company for you. read more

Our washing machine died and I assumed it was going to be a lost cause, but I needed to be sure. I called on a Saturday afternoon and Monday morning, Brett came out and signed the death certificate for the washer. Both people I spoke to, the lovely woman who answered the call and Brett at my home, we incredibly nice and helpful. Brett explained the issue with the washer to me and didn't "man-splain" the issue to me. My husband and I noticed an awful smell coming from the dishwasher. After taking it appart to clean the drain, I checked underneath and found a pool of water. Jim, from Appliance Repair, came out and looked at the machine. He determined it was fine but noticed a leak coming from our sink drain. That was where all the water was coming from! He put the machine back together, since I had yet to do that after cleaning, and helped us determine how to easily and inexpensively fix the leak. He was great help! It seamed like he treated me as he would his own daughter. He also taught me how to take care of my dishwasher and told me the products to use! I just wanted to say how pleased i am with this company. for the life of me i cannot remember his name which makes me feel terrible, once i get it i will put it on here. i have never had to call an appliance person to my home, so i wasn't sure what to expect. i wasn't home when the young man got here, so when i walked in and found my washer torn apart all i thought was "oh no big money"! he was here for a while and he explained to me what he was doing, why and how to help prevent a couple issues. very knowledgeable and personable. while i was waiting for him to finish i was sitting down thinking about how much this was going to cost. when he came out and said $120......i was exstatic! he worked hard i was thinking no less than $400. so i am very impressed with service, price and the company! even the office gal was friendly! amazing! read more

My ice maker in my LG had been dead for a long time. So I gave them a call to schedule a time and they came within 48 hours! Hey, I didn't want to invest in a new refrigerator so that's when I found Appliance Works. Scott came out their tech and diag the ice maker issues and he didn't have part on the truck but put in order on Friday for it. Also really glad he came out turned out my washer just started leaking that am too. Scott diag the LG washer and had part on truck which was a back pump and it was fixed! When the part came in we scheduled him on Weds this week to do fix on ice maker. It started working dumping ice and I tested it next day, & had a flapper issues on dispense so I called Scott told him I had replaced that part last fall and may have not done it right. He said schedule another appt. with home office & he would get an extra one in case & come on the scheduled up visit. Well to give an update he arrived today right at start of time window checked it out and found out I had installed it perfectly except hooking it correctly to selnoid. Wow he was great & appliance works the best he worked out perfect for me every time! Today was huge bonus since he did not charge me for diag of flapper door & the extra return visit!! Thank You! We are 100% happy with Scott (tech) & Appliance Works Company for what they did & how they did the top quality work! My ice maker was no longer working. I looked to Yelp to find an appliance repair company with good reviews and came upon Appliance Works. I gave them a call, they scheduled me quickly and the technician, Scott, was on time and courteous. My issue is with the mark up of the part, or labor cost, as it is not itemized on the invoice. Scott advised me that the entire ice maker needed to be replaced in my Frigidaire refrigerator, which I do not doubt. My issues is with the price and being charged $245. After Scott left I went on-line and found that you can buy the ice maker directly from Frigidaire's website for $59.99. So, essentially, I paid $185 in mark up for the part and the 20 minutes it took the technician to diagnose and install it. I know everyone is in business to make money, and I have no issue with a reasonable mark up on the part and a reasonable amount for labor. Based on the aforementioned, I do not believe the mark up or labor rate, whichever it may be, was reasonable and seems excessive. I will not be using Appliance Works services ever again nor can I recommend them to anyone based on my experience. read more

My ice maker had been on the fritz for a while but I didn't want to invest in a new refrigerator so that's when I found Appliance Works. I called and they were able to come out the same day. Eddie worked on fixing our ice maker, even went to the extent of replacing the entire maker with two new ones which he already had on the truck thinking that the first one was defective. When those wouldn't work Eddie ordered in a part and installed it the next day. When the maker kind of started working I called to give an update and they weren't 100% happy with what I told them so that evening they sent out the owner to take a look. At that point he did a few things and told us to use it as much as we wanted over the weekend and give an update on Monday. Now it works great. Eddie and the owner did great and saved us a chunk of money. They worked around our schedule, even coming after work and only charged for one visit even though someone actually came to our home 3 times. Also every time I called the person I spoke with was as nice as can be and very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get an appliance fixed without spending to much money. Steve came out and replaced a blown thermal fuse in the freezer portion of my Samsung refrigerator. It was an simple diagnosis and it could have been a half hour repair job but it took 2 hours...that put him way behind schedule for the day. The most labor intensive part was thawing the ice off of the evaporator to get to the fuse...it was thick! He was diligent and kept at it with a steamer. I appreciate that he stayed and fixed it instead of leaving and coming back after it thawed on its own. If the need should arise, I will employ this company again. I thought for sure I was going to have to buy a new fridge (my fridge was only 2 years old from an outlet store). I had been dreading having someone even come take a look expecting it to be expensive for 1 and my refrigerator still being broken and having to pay for a new one regardless. Turns out I just had a chunk of ice that wouldn't melt in the freezer after around just over $100 my refrigerator was as good as new. The ice chunk hasn't had a recurrence in over a year. That's right, I'm writing this review at over 1 year from this service because I just made another call for them to fix the broken spring on my dishwasher. Called because my washer stopped working after roommate washed a big fluffy rug in it. I had gotten to the point of removing the front cover of the washer and emptying coin track which was packed full of stuff, but washer still wasn't draining well. When I explained I worked night shift, they squeezed me in earlier during the very next day then they had an opening for to accommodate my sleep. $55 for the service call, but was told price would be waived if they did repairs for just the cost of repairs. The figured out what was wrong (line was still clogged from drain trap to the drum) and fixed it in under 30 minutes. Guys that came were professional and super nice!Total cost $125. read more

4.5 stars Pleased with service from Appliance Works and Kurtis. Called after hours Wed night hoping to be able to get service for our warm fridge Thursday but they couldn't fit me in when they called first thing in the morning. Kurtis came out as scheduled on Friday and immediately knew what the problem was, in the freezer, a defrost sensor. He cleaned the frost from the back of the fridge and it got cold again in both freezer and fridge. Unfortunately he didn't have the part and had to order it and come back Monday to replace it, which he did, actually a little early. He was pleasant and personable and knew his stuff. Service call $ applied to the fix. While I was happy it wasn't more it seemed slightly pricey overall for the part and labor. A lot less than buying a new fridge though! read more

Great experience overall, making the appointment was easy and even though they did not have the preferred time I wanted available, they were able to accomodate another day that worked for me.
