I called to see if I could get a repair guy out to fix my oven door as the handle had been broken from the previous owner and I ordered one online to replace. Well the instructions didn't say that you should tape the glass before removing the handle as the rest of the door will come apart. Then here I was with a disassembled oven door and unable to put it back together. I called and was willing to pay a service call as well as labor and was basically told by the lady on the phone they wouldn't put it back together for me as "you should have paid more attention". Isn't that what a repairman is for if I break something I pay them to come fix it? It shouldn't matter if I disassembled it cause if I took my car's motor apart and couldn't get it back together a mechanic would be more then willing to take my money to reassemble it. read more

My refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing. I called Appliance Works because I saw they had great reviews on YELP. They were very nice and professional. They called back to let me know what time the tech could make it. I like that they only gave me a 2 hour window - 11am to 1pm. I didn't have to sit around waiting all day. The tech called and arrived shortly after 11am. He had to leave to go get the part, GE Inverter Board. But was back in no time. He was done before 1pm.....Great Service. Even though they are a little expensive, I'll use them again. I Googled the part which costs about $200 at the most retail. It took less than 1 hour for the actual repair. The total cost was $344. They didn't itemize the invoice. I highly recommend them if you can't repair it yourself. read more

Great fast service. I called them on a Wednesday and they were out today's later on a Friday to check the ice maker on my kitchen refrigerator. They ordered me a new icemaker and had it installed by the following Wednesday. Very professional clean cut employees that I went above and beyond for service. Priced seemed reasonable and fair, I would most definitely contact them again in the future. We have been having issues with our fridge (that is less then 3 years old) for the past few months (well, really since we bought it). We finally decided to find a repairman to come out and look at it. Upon a recommendation from a friend, we called Appliance Works. The receptionist was able to get us a same-day appointment with Sam between 3 and 5. Sam called around 3:30 and said that he was going to be on his way. Sam was very professional when he got to the house and he listened as we filled him in on the issue. He got to work right away and as soon as he found out what he perceived to be the issue, he let us know. He was upfront and said that he was focusing on 3 possible issues (one of them was not good). He did say that they are focused on getting the best information to the customer and they didn't want to nickel and dime us. It was all about the facts and what was best for us, the customer. He realized that the issue was worst case scenario and we needed one of the boards replaced. He was also concerned that the compressor would need to be replaced as well. He said that this would be a very expensive fix and once these serious issues occur, then other things begin to happen. He continued to work on determining the other issues. Upon further inspection, there were 2 boards that need to be replaced. He was very honest about his hesitation in moving forward with fixing it and he said that he would not recommend doing that. He talked to us for a while about other options (in fridges) and what he recommends and what he doesn't recommend. He answered our questions and didn't seem rushed at all (even though it was now about 5:30). He apologized several times that the news wasn't better and that he wishes that it had been a better situation. We were very appreciative of his helpful attitude and we would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Thank you Sam for being honest and thorough. Although our situation did not have a good outcome, I would have felt comfortable having him fix the fridge if it had been an easier fix. read more

Our LG washer was taking twice as long as normal to complete a load. About 6 months ago, our dryer was making a lot of noise. I called another company that had a high rating. The guy came out 3 nights & the noise was worse then before! We ended up getting a new dryer. So when the washer wasn't acting normal, I didn't know who to call. My friend saw all these reviews for Appliance Works so I called them. They came out the next day, on time, looking & acting professional. An hour later, a valve was replaced. He then agreed to call me. This conversation was great. He genuinely wanted to know how he could do better, he asked many questions, including all important ones about quotes etc. He was sincere, apologetic, and honest. Bottom line, he agreed to either come out again for free, to check the work or to refund the charge above the basic trip charge, an amount of $55. Since I believe his technicians diagnosis and recommendation to replace was likely correct, I choose the latter. This is the most I would have expected of any service provider. He gave me a wonderful feeling about his company and I will use him again. This guy is the real deal. read more

Brett which pronounced himself the owner was very impersonal. Wanted to upcharge me just because I own a Sub-Zero. Gave me a quote for 1100 Dollars to replace me compressor. He couldnt even do the repair for 3 days. He also claimed to be factory certified and could do the repair with OEM parts. Called Sub-zero to confirm this. The only company certified by them is Tri-City Appliance. Called them up. They came out. Fixed my refrigerator same day and only charged me 483.13 dollars. HUGE difference. Before you do a job. Had them out to fix my GE refrigerator. Removed ice from unit and ran the diagnostics. Tech could not tell if problem was a bad fan or control board. I suggested that I could get my volt meter to test the voltage. Then he used his volt meter to test the voltage. Tech did not know the voltage to the fan, so I looked the information up on the internet. They did not have the part so it took 4 days to ship the part from Tucson. Partsdr.com could have done the same shipping from Florida. I spent the extra $50 for the fan cost to have Appliance Works finish the job. For mediocre work this is the place to call. With the extra day recommended to test the new fan our refrigerator was running six days after the first service call. Total was $325 to replace a fan. Two days after the repair Christine from Appliance Works called to tell me I owe them $20. I told her the tech agreed to complete the task for $325. Apparently the tech made an error and now I am responsible for the extra charge. This was not a positive experience. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I contacted them to have my Electrolux Washing Machine fixed. They were very friendly on the phone and sent Scott out within 2 days to fix it. He came to look at the machine and said it needed a new part and that I didn't have to pay the $55 service fee for him to come out since I was moving forward with the job. Scott came back two weeks later to fixed the machine when the part came in. He told us it would be $345, we gave him our debit card and he was on his way. Fast forward a week later and Scott and this company are calling me non stop saying that I owe them $55 for the service fee to have come out in the first place. When I called them to find out what the issue was since I paid the full amount that he quoted me that day. The Accounting women was so rude and disrespectful to me. Even though she stated three times on the phone that Scott forgot to collect the full amount, she treated me as if I just didn't pay the full invoice amount. They really need to work on customer service and how they treat people. I'm sorry your repairman messed up but the customer shouldn't be accused of not paying. I had every intention of paying when I called into the office today but after how I was treated a customer shouldn't have to track down a company to pay them because they forgot to charge the full amount. read more

Update to my review: I did receive a phone call from the owner of this company on the evening of this post, apologizing for the inconvenience. While I did/do appreciate the follow up, was a bit skeptical of motive, as the second question asked was "did you post the review on Yelp?" We raise horses and live in a bit of what some would call a "rural" area, but literally only 20 - 25 minutes from the address listed for this company. I suppose the thing that upset me most was the fact that when I asked the CSR if they could recommend another company, her response was: I can't - you might want to search the internet until you find someone willing to come out there. The reason I chose this company first was because of the many positive reviews and the fact they state "same day service", so this led me to believe the company simply didn't wish to service my area, thus offering an appointment so far out as to force a person to continue their search for help. The owner did assure me this was not the case and that they were simply backed up on appointments and it wasn't their policy to recommend other companies as this may open them to liability. I totally understand this and had the CSR informed me of this at the time, I would not have felt as though this company was pushing us off. I was able to find another company to do the repair which was costly, but the $1,000 repair was certainly nothing near the $6,000 it would have cost to replace the unit. I am sincerely hopeful the follow up apology from Appliance Works: Phoenix Appliance Repair was genuine and not because of a negative review and also my perception of the statement made by the CSR was simply a misunderstanding. I must say the owner seemed genuinely apologetic and did offer to come to our home personally - on Monday. read more

After reading positive reviews on Yelp I was eager to check them out. However when I called in to discuss my appliance the woman on the phone cut me off and informed me they won't discuss appliance issues on the phone, that I need to pay to have a tech come out and it's $55 for said visit which will be waived if I use this company. She impatiently waited for me to give her my address. That's gonna be a "No"... I had run a diagnostic on my washer, as I attempted to explain, and after researching my model I was reasonably sure I knew what part needed to be replaced. I was hoping I could discuss this with them on the phone prior to a visit to ensure they had the part with them when they came. "No," she told me, "that's not how it works. They will come out and see what parts they need to get, what is your address?" So I'll need two trips to fix my washer? Because she wouldn't even listen to what type of appliance needed repair, much less a model number! No thank you! I went with Wright's appliance repair instead and am so glad I did. I then explained to her the situation with the dryer and she recommended me to first have someone clean the vents, rather than spend the money on the consultation with Appliance Works. She then also gave me a referral contact number for the vent cleaning service. How cool is that? Impressed! We need more honest organizations like Appliance Works. My 20+ yr old dryer motor finally broke. I called appliance works and they had Sam come out the next day and assess the issue. They have me a price and the price was good for 30 days. I called 2 weeks later and told them that my husband and I would like to have our dryer fixed. Appliance works ordered the part and a week later, Sam was out fixing my dryer. While fixing my dryer, sam encountered a problem. He tried everything to get a piece off to replace the motor but nothing was working. He said he would have to order another part because it seems that he would have to saw a piece of to get to the motor. So now the price went up. I was devastated and so was he. I think he was more disappointed with himself that he couldn't complete the job. I thought I was going to have my dryer back that day and take down my line dry that I was using for 3 weeks (went old school ) but it would have to wait another day possibly 2 more days. But Sam did something that he said he never did before and that worked!!! It worked!!! It was a bolt that was stripped and he tried everything to get it off (even almost had to saw a piece off that would've cost more) but he got it off!!! We both were jumping for joy. He saved me money and was able to fix my dryer with flying colors!! He was awesome all the way through the process, very communicative and thorough. Called these guys at 9:00 am today (a Saturday!) with a dead fridge. The dispatcher said Scott would be here between noon and 2. He shows up at 1 pm. Seriously? I did a bunch of research last night to figure out what the problem probably was. I figured it would be the motherboard. Scott takes less than 3 minutes to come to the same conclusion. He had one on the truck (because he is a pro, and he's worked with millions of these crappy GE fridges), popped that baby in and I'm rolling phat with my cool Buds again in no time. My refrigerator/freezer stopped working at 8:30 p.m. I called early the next morning and even though they were having a very busy day, they had the technicians here by the end if the day. They were fast, efficient, friendly and diagnosed the problem and ad it fixed in under 20 minutes. I was very impressed. I had suggested them initially to a friend for a washing machine problem and had admired their integrity in that situation as they again came to the call in a timely manner and quickly assessed that the appliance was not repairable, explaining why which is always helpful.
