I had come to the store last week, where the owners mother was tending the store and heard that they may not renew thier lease during the summer this year. I've been around Pasadena for years, and hearing a staple like them may not be here anymore certainly makes me sad. I remember doing a soap workshop and making my own soap there, I hope there are plans to do so in the future. Regardless, I plan to keep purchasing her bars when she decides to go online, or if she considers vending at farmers markers (like South Pasadena's Farmers Market). I've had the pleasure of meeting them both and they both are extremely kind and helpful. You can tell from the soaps the passion of their handmade goods and the push to reduce plastic waste. That's awesome!! I feel more and more stores will continue to follow suit, though soap kitchen had been doing it before it was cool! Regardless of what they plan in the future, if it involves soaps, I'm all for it!!

It's a small place - and street parking can be tricky. But I was fortunate to get a spot right out front. I stepped inside and saw the various containers of products and was pleased. Not only were there things that I use every day, but the prices were ridiculously affordable. Isela (theeee sweetest person) gave me a brief, but thorough "tour" that was absolutely fascinating. She answered any and all of my questions and provided me with a few donated containers for my purchase. So far, the star of this visit are the scented lotion and hand wash. Can't recall the name. But they are pricier than the other products. I don't care at all. I LOVE the scent. As a matter of fact, I'm going in this weekend for some more of the hand soap. I have it in my bathroom (foaming pump) and my kitchen (regular hand soap pump). I also diluted it to use as a shower gel. YES, doggone it!!! I'm kinda addicted! This is one of those places that you should actually do a personal field trip to. It will change your life. Believe it. Highly, highly recommended! UPDATE: I went back in for more hand soap concentrate and some retinol serum. By the way, soap and lotion brand name is "Further". Alyssa assisted me and she is an absolute DOLL. They even throw a light sent when not lit, I love walking into my bedroom and smelling Moroccan Fig! I've paid $50+ for candles from big name candle companies and they don't last anywhere near as long or smell as good. She's this 2 month old sweetheart puppy and I think you should go to this store just to say hi to her~ The shop is full of really cute items, made by various different artists and small businesses around the country.
