They have lunch and dinner specials every day and now they deliver. The Chinese food is pretty good but what I really love is their hot and sour soup. It comes with the lunch and dinner specials or you can order a cup or large (2 to 3 cups). Their chicken lettuce wrap appetizer is also good, it says it's for two but one person could easily have it as a meal. read more

First time there, so I kept it safe, if you understand that this place is the equivalent to a mom and pop version of a Chinese food court restaurant you'll find it justified. I ordered pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and egg rolls to go. I felt like if they can do those well it merits a comeback, they did them really well. LESS IS MORE APPROACH. After ordering take-out numerous times, my husband and I decided to eat here for lunch. Obviously it was fresher, but the service was great and the food was delicious and hot. For an inexpensive Chinese restaurant, this place delivers. The food is better than any I've had at this level of restaurant, and the Singapore noodles are excellent. The shrimp friend rice is also very good. They offer delivery, which arrives pretty quickly. For a quick lunch, best place in the immediate vicinity. read more

The food is great, but if you're going to have a drive-through you need to learn how to use it properly and effectively. Customer should not sit in line being ignored for more than 10 minutes. There's no excuse for this. read more

Went yesterday with a friend as I was eating my food didn't taste very good ..As I was telling my friend another customer was leaving and said she found maggots in her food ..So disgusting .I told the waitress I didn't like my food and from what I just heard I don't want to replace it with something else ..I asked for a semi refund since I did eat the soup .I was told NO because I had eaten the 3 chicken strips (lemon chicken) .I didn't make a scene as I too have worked in the food industry(GM) .no-one came out to talk to me ask" Why"? What was wrong with ?.In management we are taught to take care of our customers that's what brings them back .. Bad business !! . Very upsetting that I paid for a meal that I hardly ate and left hungry .I will never go back and never recommend this place. read more

This place has delicious food. It's the perfect Chinese place. It is a brick building with bars on the windows, and I just love that! To me it makes it so much cooler that in this modest building off the highway there's the best food ever. With the gentrification happening in the area, I had to move away and I haven't found another place as good. I really hope that with the tax hikes happening to wean out the middle class and make room for corporate gentrifiers, that this place will be able to stay in business. So tonight i ordered from this place, at first i was just expecting a typical chinese place like kings palace, by the way thats my next review... Anyways, i came up by them leaving a flyer at my apt. Door... I love chinese, so why not... There prices sounded "cheaper" than my typical chinese place... I had me the shrimp lo mein, crab ragoons, asked for extra shrimp "didnt see it"... I was expecting a large serving of it, just like kings palace... But to my surprise it was small, guessing serving size, the actual serving size recommended... So the look,disappointed me, but when i actually dug in, it was awesome, delicious... The taste in every bite, was yum... I will beginto order here as long as they dont mess up, on future orders... Low priced Chinese food that is fair in quality and large in portions. Nothing spectacular but for 8 bucks a plate, but you really can't knock it either. Advice is to avoid the heavy battered stuff as common for budget Chinese. The happy family plate with chicken, shrimp, and pork is pretty good for the price. SATX does not boast an Asian food scene, at all. My recent move to this part of the world has greatly disappointed the non-Tex-Mex/non-Mex side of my belly. The lunchtime food at April's is fine - not good, not disappointing. I ordered the chicken w/ black bean sauce (nice and spicy), hot and sour soup (could use less corn starch as a thickening agent), and steamed rice (a tad sticky). Delivery guy spilled my entire soup! Normally, I love April's, the price is fair, the portions are fair, etc.... I ordered delivery for lunch one evening while I was at work, When it was delivered, the guy looks me dead in the eye when the entire soup is at the bottom of my bag. (Yes, I'm not a douche I still tipped him $5!!) but none the less, he didn't offer to comp a soup or anything. Not only was the soup at the bottom of my delivery bag, this also caused the rangoons and eggrolls to be so soggy. read more

We got the sesame chicken and beef Lo Mein and it is seriously the best Chinese food we've ever had. We will ABSOLUTELY be back.

I was ignored for 15 minutes before a server came and took my drink order. Waited ten more minutes and then ordered my lunch. My food was brought out (cold) before my water. FINALLY at the end of the meal they brought my water with the check. I put cash down and waited 15 more minutes for change. I also asked for a to go box. I didn't get either so I finally just left. I ordered for delivery kung pao shrimp without peanuts and an order of spring rolls and asked for extra hot mustard. The lady said it would be 45 minutes to an hour. The order arrived in just under an hour and the delivery guy was very personable and nice. The Kung Pao shrimp was not really kung pao. It seemed like it was just sauteed in some oil. The shrimp were large and delicious. The vegetables were fresh and crispy. But no real evidence of Kung Pao. And it was just kind of warm not hot. The egg roll that came with it was a bit soggy and just kind of warm. The spring rolls were hot, fresh and delicious. They came with a small cup of their homemade hot mustard. But the extra mustard that I ordered were those little packets... Totally different from their homemade. I ate the egg drop soup last and it was still very hot... Styrofoam Bowl it came in I suppose. I have eaten at the restaurant before and it's always been very good. This delivered meal was kind of a small portion for dinner menu items but it was still plenty of food. No, I did not call them and complain or ask for them to come back with real kung pao shrimp. I was hungry and it was getting late. I will definitely eat there again but probably not order out for delivery. I would say 3.5 Stars if this app allowed it but will round down to 3 stars. read more

I will never buy from this restaurant again!! My husband just found a long hair in his food!! Disgusting!!!!And I just spent $26.00 on 2 dinners to go. The portions are the smallest I have ever seen. They use tiny plastic 2 sided containers that fits very little food. They no longer use the larger styrofoam ones. The food isn't that good either and not worth the cost. I called to tell the manager my complaint and to say I will never return!!! read more

I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix dinner and the Crab Rangoon appetizer. The delivery was fast and the food was hot, however when I opened the Dragon and Phoenix (General Tso's Chicken on one side and a little bit of the Shrimps with hot and spicy chili sauce on the other side... they don't tell you that you get twice as much General Tso's Chicken than the Shrimp) I was overwhelmed by the stench of the General Tso's Chicken. I took a bite and spit it out omgosh it is very nasty! Their General Tso's Chicken is missing a lot, for one... Sesame seeds... and they use the cheapest nastiest chicken they can find so I am sure they do that for all the other food on their menu. The fried rice is disgusting, maybe it's okay for white people who like Minute Rice. The Crab Rangoon had about three tiny teeny specks of crab (if it really was crab) per Rangoon and absolutely NO FLAVOR! I will not be ordering from here again. I called using Sprint Relay because I am hearing impaired and can't hear on the telephone and they were very nice on the phone and I could tell that they were busy because I was put on hold a few times. The reason why the prices are so cheap is because they use substandard food products. By the way... that wet mop smell that everyone is complaining about... well that is exactly how their General Tso's Chicken smells and tastes like. The Shrimp with hot and spicy chili sauce was delicious, the vegetables and sauce were excellent... I devoured it poured over my own steamed rice and I was impressed with the flavor of the Shrimps with hot and spicy chili sauce as well as the size of the shrimps. read more

Worst Ever!!!!!! Delivery driver couldn't follow simple instructions over the phone to find address it took over an hour of him driving around the same complex. By the time I got my food it was cold and nasty. On top of that I was hung up on by the driver and the manager Sue at the store. After I got my food I discovered no egg roll when I called back I was told that my plate did not come with an egg roll even though I was specifically told it did. I will take a plane to China to get chinese food before I order from this place again. It really makes me not want to EVER deal with any chinese food it was that bad. On top of all that I was called back by the manager and told that I shouldnt have taken the old order if I wanted a replacement order so I have to wait over 2 hours to eat an order that was quoted at 30 minutes. It is ridiculous and highway robbery how they treat customers. This place is horrible if I could give them negative stars I would. read more
