This company's door to door salesmen repeatedly ignore "No Soliciting" signs (apparently at the company's instruction) and then are incredibly rude when you call this out to them (i.e., calling me a b***h after they've rung the doorbell multiple times and interrupted meetings). Any licenses or permits they have should be revoked as it's on par with harassment and trespassing. And before the Customer Service rep comments the canned response asking me to send them an email - these comments are on the Corona branch. Despite the fact that we clearly have a "No Solicitation" sign posted on our property, their representative (working in Fontana on 9/12/25) came to our door and repeatedly rang the doorbell. When I asked him to leave and to keep quiet, since we have kids napping, he was rude, dismissive, and completely disrespectful. Instead of apologizing or leaving quietly, he mocked us by waving at our camera and making a scene, fully aware that I did not want him on our premises. 1 star due to contracts. I spent $716 over the course of 5 treatments. The treatments solved the ant problem but I decided to do the work myself and wanted to cancel. I was forced to pay a $199 early cancellation penalty. As a business owner, I understand the need to recoup costs from first visit discounts and prevent customers from cancelling after the first visit but I would suggest flexibility in the policy for longer term customers. I believe $716 spent with a company for 5 visits (15 minutes of labor per visit) is enough to let the customer move on without the penalty charge and a positive impression of the business. $199 is not worth a 1 star review. read more

They started out great, but then the problems began, of course they did! First was an issue with the payments and service was lapsed, then they resolved it. Now the issue is their AI text notification doesnt know how to reschedule appts and when you're transferred along to customer service, they can't get it right either. Derek was the technician who performed service for my home yesterday and did an excellent & thorough job. He checked in with me to see what areas needed focus and gave me specifics on how he would treat the area of concern so that I would see a difference (specifically ants near the orange tree/walkway & crickets coming into the garage after my last service). Derek was very polite, informative and checked out before leaving which I really appreciated. I would rate him as one of the best technicians that Aptive has sent to service my home since I started using their pest control services. I used to love this company. During covid times I used them for about a year but money was tight & I had to let them go. However recently they marketed prior customers with giftcard incentives to come back. I could afford the service again, so I entered into a 2 year contract with them. I've come to regret it. AI completely rules this company. I was scheduled for Saturday service, called in the morning to confirm with what sounded like a human who said they'd be out at 4pm. I called back when no one showed. AI said i was still sceduled.. Website said service window was 4-9pm! Called again at 7pm & AI said i had no service scheduled. Checked the website ..no service scheduled! My initial visit technician was great but since then its been bad. No call beforehand & they skimp on service provided. I had an existing pest control company that serviced my entire property which has an ADU on a quarterly basis. I was sold on the front yard to back yard, sidewalk to back wall, and side yard to side yard of entire property. Service to be performed on a monthly basis. There was slight increase in cost but I was fine with that. I was told that my entire property was to be serviced. Come to find out last month as I was speaking with the technician he stated that he could not treat the area around the ADU because it was a separate address and that he would in jeopardy of losing his pest control lic. issued by the State of Ca. He continued to inform me that the ADU would need to be added to my contract for an additional fee. Uh, no that is not what the salesman stated or even presented to me that option. If he did they would have never earned or obtained my business. I sent a letter questioning the technician's notification to me and decided to terminate my service immediately due to the fact they are conducting shady practices of bait and switch as well as fraud. They replied stating: I appreciate you reaching out, and I'm truly sorry to hear about your recent experience. I completely understand your frustration, especially after being told one thing during sign-up, only to receive conflicting information later. That kind of inconsistency is not only frustrating but also disappointing when you've trusted us to care for your entire property. Please know we take your concerns seriously. The situation regarding the ADU coverage and the technician's feedback should have been communicated clearly from the start. I sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this caused. It's also concerning that your feedback hasn't been acknowledged, and we will investigate that further. I'm genuinely sorry to see you go, and I understand that sometimes these decisions are necessary. As of June 2, 2025, your services with us have been officially discontinued. The only good thing was the phone call representative. The individual was understanding of the situation and helped me pull out of contract prior to services. Then sent a confirmation email. The downside is..I to am a victim of this as well. I do not want to blame the company but more so the sales rep. To put it short, watch out! They will pitch you a sale that sounds to good to be true only to send you a confirmation email with a completely different higher tier contract. To add to that, the CC was on file and they have pre planned scheduled appointments ready to be billed. It was not going to be a one-&-done type of thing. Where do I start..... Just had my third service, the tech spent exactly 14 minutes here, sprayed insecticide on walls at shoulder height, soaked my front porch, even getting spray on my mailbox. My wife asked him to sweep spider webs from under the eaves above the front door - his reply was "I've already done that" - she told him he missed one, and he became condescending, saying " I've done it already but I can do it again" and did it. Also no consideration with a advance text message - he just showed up. And then there's the payment contract - I pay 65 a month believing it was a monthly visit for basic service, then I find out that it's every 45 to 80 days. Not happy. They tried to say previous included services were no longer part of my plan and wanted to charge me additional fees. The technician left before completing the work. When I called customer service, after speaking with 3 different people, they were of no help. One representative even told me they already charged me for a service never completed. Not until canceling with Aptive did they inform me I would not be charged. The representative also confirmed that I should not have been told I would have to pay additional charges.
