Horrible. The repair manager Ryan knows nothing. He had to consult his tech on several things bc he knew more, if I called 5xs. Completely took advantage of the fact that I wasn't local. They were hired to replace a pool pump but in the meantime RUINED the pool heater. Tore out wires, left them exposed. Then said I needed an electrician. Only found out about the wires afterwards. I had to call 10xs, they play dumb, transfer you back and forth. I'd give zero stars if I could based on the amount of EXTRA money I had to spend to repair their damages. Electrician, pool heater, chemicals bc they couldn't get the pump working for a week after install. no one called to tell me it wasn't set up either. a complete JOKE. Contacted them to fix my pool heater thermostat (it was reading about 7 degrees off) Tech comes out. Nice enough guy. He is unable to work on it because it's electric and not gas (why they wouldn't ask this information up front is beyond me). I email them and let them know I'm willing to pay a small fee for his time but not paying the full fee since no work and no diagnotic work was done. Emails are ignored for weeks. Since I can't get them to contact me I dispute it with my credit card company. They then try to charge me an additional $35 fee for a bounced check, and they try to tell me that $35 is a fee my bank is charging me. No way am I paying a dime to this company now. It's a matter of principle and them trying to squeeze money out of you when they didn't do any of the work agreed upon. The eval stated it included checking of electrical components and voltage, cleaning out debris. None of this was completed. The tech said he would talk to the office to adjust the billing but they did nothing The tech made small talk when here then they tried to justify the charge by acting as if it was an educational session he charged me for. He told me nothing useful, actually sprinkled in some straight up incorrect information. I've left the office manager a voicemail and haven't heard back. When I asked why it needs to go to his voicemail they say it's because "he's in a meeting with a client". Pretty long meeting! read more

Overall, we've really enjoyed working with Aquaman. It was a little rocky in the VERY beginning, but it quickly smoothed out and has been wonderful since. They do charge more for chemicals...but they do the sourcing, lugging etc. so we have more time to play. The pool is consistently clean and ready to swim in. He helped us to bring our pool "back to life" as we had issues with surface staining, a dated and non functioning filter as well as a slowly dying pump. Poor communication. Confusing billing. And constantly sending surveys and asking for feedback but never actually implement or reach out to discuss. You call in about service if you're lucky you get an email in lieu of a call back. Otherwise crickets. Can confirm this happened on multiple issues. 1. Spa heating issue 2. When irrigation flooded the pool 3. New tech came out changed the settings and the spa started emptying Each time I called in and never received a call back. Each of the issues I had to self resolve or have a different pool company come out However they will email every day a reminder about cleaning my filters for an extra change or a repair. Seem to be fishing for revenue rather than actually provide customer service. The only reason they get two stars is because Bailey in accounting was nice and communicative. Their billing system is all screwed up and won't charge you for a month and then will charge you three times the next month. Bailey was great and sent all the invoices when requested. However the billing is so confusing and erratic it's not worth it. read more

Aquaman bought Tropical Water Pools and fired everyone from the original company- TWP was successful because of their response times and their honesty & integrity, all which was lost when AquaMan took over. After the change, we decided to keep Aquaman on, but had to fire them just after a couple months because I found my skimmer basket completely full after their visits. I timed one visit, it was 7 minutes. My neighbor also got quoted over $2500 randomly to replace all his equipment. Insisted his pump was bad even though it was running. Had AZ Oasis pools come and they said that nothing was necessary and the impeller was just dirty and no replacement was needed. You can look up a video on YouTube and the first instruction is always- check the impeller! Clearly Aquaman does not do their due diligence and just can't wait for peoples' equipment to start acting up so they can try their hardest to charge you ridiculous amounts of money and have no valid reasons to back it up (hence the other reviews here!) If you live in/around Chandler, AZ Oasis pools will be a great choice over Aquaman. read more

They came to empty my pool to refill it and left it all dirty at the bottom of the deep end, had to ask them to come back to clean it. My pool system was not working anymore after they refilled it, had to called them the multiple times to come fixed it and clean the mess they left. They never came to fix my system, had to use somebody else to fix it. They charged me money as well to fix the door of vacuum trap where you connect the tube and they never came back to repair it. We called the manager and the front office so many times to come finish their work they charged us but they never responded. I do not recommend them as it was a nightmare and a waste of money. read more

Do not use Aquaman Pools. They are completely disorganized. There is no centralized point of contact. There mode is bill, bill, bill, regardless of whether you need the service or not. When they do the work, it's done poorly. You the customer has to manage Aquaman employees. You the customer has to manage your property when things go wrong. There is no working property manager as a central point of contact managing your pool. Expect bi weekly calls from Aquaman trying to sell you all manner of service. You will ask, "didn't I just do that," or "why do I need that done when the poo was just serviced"? The person calling will have no idea. They will promise to get your questions addressed but they never do. If you are foolish enough to agree to additional service, various new people will show up to your house to do it. The usual person servicing your pool will likely not be there. The is a continually changing cast of characters on your property, trying to service your pool, but no one is actively managing these people. It's like having a contractor not managing the subcontractors on your property. It's a nightmare. It's chaos. When there is a problem, you the customer are charged with chasing this down inside the bowels of Aquaman. You have no idea who you're talking to. The people answering the phone don't know you, or your pool. The service maanger is unavailable. Promises to solve an issue, or even a call back, are never kept. And if you elevate your concerns to management, they will not call you back either. I can't emphasize enough, in the strongest possible terms - do not use Aquaman Pools. Recently took possession of a house and did a water test and wouldn't you know, my phosphate levels were off the chart! My pool was effectively an all-U-Can-eat buffet for algae (I realize this is not a restaurant review). Enter Aquaman ... being the first time I've owned a pool, the staff was very patient and eager to educate me on how we would maintain the pool once we changed out the water, replaced the filter, and performed other maintenance. Least honest and reliable pool company I've ever worked with. They charge hundreds of dollars in a single visit for standard commodity chemicals. As soon as we hired them they came up with thousands of dollars of repair needs. And despite their advertised rate of ~$150/mo for pool maintenance, they cost me an average of $550/mo in 2023. Do not use them. The pool was also frequently not in good shape and the service folks often didn't have chlorine tabs with them even though they'll charge you for each tab used. read more

We recently completed a pool renovation in Scottsdale on an older home we purchased this year. Greg from Aquaman did a fantastic job in helping us redesign the tired pool we received. We replaced the old bond beam with travertine, resurfaced the decks all around and resurfaced the pool and spa with new pebble tech. The end result is excellent. the look and quality far exceeded my expectations. This is the fifth pool I have built and its by far the best. Once they were able to start, the process moved along well and according to plan. i would highly recommend going with them for a major pool renovation. read more

Aquaman bought the company that I had been using for years. They then started throwing random charges at me. They tried charging me $80 every three months for some random, never heard of "necessary" services to my pool. I spoke to the tech who'd been servicing my pool for years and HE even said the charges were bogus. So I started looking back at my bill and they were charging me $90 every three months for things that I was originally told her included in the service. I canceled service with them as soon as I saw all the hidden charges. Even the tech said this company was shady. I have moved on and I've got great service now. Greg who I originally purchased the pool from when Paddock pools we're still around back in 2001 was also the designer. It We had them change the tile, acid wash, and redo the decking. Greg was always there to answer questions or fix any problems that always arize in any construction project. Aquamans contractors were clean,neat and organized. At the end of February I had Aquaman pools come out and do the reverse osmosis of my pool with there big trailer. Their advertisements say- "Don't drain your pool, purify it." Well, its July 29th and I now have to drain my pool as the Dissolved Solids are way to high. If they purified it correctly then they would have been able to remove the dissolved solids to a level where I would not have to drain my pool. The whole purpose of paying them almost $1,000.00 was so I would not be in this situation I am in now. It has not even been 6 months since the service. What a waste of Money! read more

We are updating our review for Aquaman that we posted 12 days ago. Two days ago, Amber followed up with a personal phone call and then an email. Amber apologized and explained Aquaman was in the transition of taking over the customers of our former pool service company. She described it as a hectic time. She was sorry for our poor experience and asked if she could pay for the repair work that was completed by another company who did address our emergency or if there was anything else she could do to make things up to us. Amber expressed she takes pride in her work and that was very much appreciated. Although we will be staying with the company who did respond to our emergency and not using Aquaman, we did want this update to reflect Amber's sincerity and desire to remedy the situation.
