Last year I ordered an inexpensive part for my pool robot. After placing the order, Aquaquality emailed me saying they were out of stock and that they had changed my order to a more expensive option. They asked for my approval to charge the extra money to my credit card. I suggested that since they had falsely advertised availability, that they offer me a discount on the more expensive part. They refused, and also continued to advertise the less expensive part on their site. This year, I again saw that they were advertising the less expensive part as being in stock, so I ordered it again. Again they emailed me that it was out of stock and asked for my permission to pay full price on the more expensive item. Only putting 1 Star as I couldn't give -5 The customer service with this place is non-existent. Spent a thousand plus dollars over the last 18 months with Aquaquality for AquaBot robot vacuums. NONE last a full season. Does not stand behind any of his work. Recent advice from this poor excuse of a Business owner after attempting to use a robot purchased at the end of last season which wouldn't work; "you should stop buying used equipment". Ended up needing new belts (remember this was a refurbed bot, never used til today!). Charged me $10 for the belts for me to install rather than let them do it for $50. Made a purchase of an item for $65 + SH $10 for a total of $75. Was told after completing the order it was now an additional $35 for the same item. When I was billed the additional $35 I cancelled the order as that was not the advertised price on the website. Now they refund $71.89 instead of the $75 without no reason as too why and with nothing ever shipped from the company. Beware of the scam of increasing the price and refunding only partial payments. Tried to contact the company but they do not answer the phone and always goes to voice mail and say they will return the call, to which they never will. I got scammed $3.11 due to their negligence on their website pricing and I have to pay for it. It does not sound like much but imagine the profit of doing thi to several thousand customers and the money they would gain. Pure SCAM on their part. After reading other reviews from Google and Facebook and others I was not the only one scammed for money on falsely advertised items. My husband and I purchased a Maytronics Dolphin vacuum in May 2020 here. My husband was given the vacuum with out packaging. We thought this odd but the salesman assured us it was brand new. The vacuum never worked properly so we called Maytronics and were issued a replacement that was indeed brand new. We spoke with Maytronics as it was acting up again today. Turns out a part needs to be cleaned and maintained so easy fix. But they told us our warranty was up in June 2020. How does a brand new pool vacuum warranty expire in just one month of purchase?! I ordered a pair of rubberized tracks for my robotic pool cleaner online. Total order was around 50 dollars. I then received a confirmed e-mail immediately after placing the order. Later that evening, I received a voicemail stating he couldn't honor the price, and said that he was going to charge me an extra 20 dollars because he figured 20 dollars wouldn't "make or break" the order. He was planning to do this without my permission. After I heard the voicemail, I immediately called and cancelled the order since they didn't honor the original sale. I must say the owner of this place really knows his stuff! Turns out he used to build fighter jets... The staff is also very knowledgeable especially when it comes to Aquabots and repairing them. They got mine running for a lot less than I expected. I also feel as though I was being taken care of and not rushed into buying a new one like the guys at Leslies tried to push on me. They also had my machine back to me quick-turns out they are the ones who actually fix them. Other places send them out for repairs (often to Aquaquality) and I don't have time for middlemen. The store is a little small but I like that boutique service that privately owned local businesses give so I suggest them to anyone looking for a good repair company. The service guy was in the back and didn't even take a minute to come out to help us. Said he was busy and wanted us to fill out a form and email us later. Hands down the worst place I've dealt with over the last 20 years of owning a pool. DO NOT bring your pool vacuum robot to them. They don't use original parts but instead use cheap inferior made Chinese parts that won't last a full season. That's why they have their workers state that they warranty nothing and that although they have done the repair, their parts can still break at any time. They even go so far as to say that we don't warranty anything for 5 minutes, 5 days or 5 years after it leaves their building. Why would a business say that after they just repaired something? I'd say because they use inferior parts and that they KNOW that they will fail in a short period of time. The old skinny man Len who takes your order has some serious anger issues as well. He has no patience when asked questions about a repair and plays stupid when asked. He gets frazzled real easy due to his lack of knowledge about anything pool related and defers to others because of that. Why would the owner put this old short tempered person as their initial contact. I'm guessing because is he's basically a secretary and it's the simplest task he can handle. It's obvious. As far as my repair, they tried charging me in their estimate for a new filter basket and treads. The filter basket is reusable and says so on the robots website. Why a new filter basket for $80? Because it's part of their repair scam. Their "TREAD ANTHEM" is priceless. No matter what the repair, they will try to sell you treads/tracks. It's their biggest mark up. They wanted to charge me $200 installed. I found them on various sites for $33 and they were NOT CHINESE PARTS. So almost $170 to install them?And, don't forget they use CHINESE PARTS. So almost $300 between the filter basket and treads, BOTH of which I didn't need. The robot only cost $750. They also charge an $85 "Bench Fee". No matter what they do. In my case, the treads are on the outside, and the filter basket pulls out. Both visually seen without doing a thing. I think that even old man Len can figure that out. So why the $85 bench fee? I'd say so they rope you in to going for the repair. Very Deceptive. In the end, this is my second encounter with this business and both were dismal. I thought I'd give them a second chance but I was beyon wrong. Use the Internet for parts. These things are not all that hard to repair. I should have known better. ZERO STARS for me. Educate yourself on robot cleaners before buying anything from this company. A few years ago, tried to sell me my $890 pool cleaner (what I actually paid) for $1,400 because the owner tried to tell me that there's was better and it came with a cart. They were IDENTICAL units. I would like to give 0 stars because I am so upset at the shoddy work this company did on our pool butler. They sold us used parts and the Butler was broken three days after we paid $250 . We were able to salvage the drive track from one of our old butlers only to find the other newly replace track broke in a week. We bought new parts from Amazon and fixed it easily ourselves. Followed his instructions and my pool isn't looking good- I tried to give him a chance to fix this issue before I write a review but I called and called and called and no answer. I left a voicemail explaining everything and it's now been a week with no call back. I told him I have a salt water pool many times and he measured everything the wrong way. When I came back for a check up of the water he was confused and said he thought it was a chlorinated pool. I went somewhere else and had to buy a bunch of things to reverse the damage that was done. We wasted a lot of money here. Everyone makes mistakes and I understand that, but if you're not willing to fix the issue then that's not good customer service whatsoever. went to the store(july 2019) to get a control box for my pool cleaner . Given a control box missing one leg on it and was not the same one my wife brought in to be replaced . I also brought in my pool cleaner to be repaired. Had to bring it back 7 days later where i was told it was a different problem and charged again after spending $200+ the robot is still not working. I am now stuck because I was told that the stores warranty policy ends when you walk out the door and cash is the only form of payment accepted. would not go back there again. On 6/6/21 Warning my Nassau people.... DO NOT EVER go to or patronize AquaQuality Pools and Spas at 169 Post Avenue (516) 876-8643 in Westbury NY. First, I entered the store to buy a filter for my swimming pool. I find the type of filter I need for my pool, waited, and the female owner came, rang up my order, and said the total was 43 and change.... I thought I heard 14 and change, as the filters are normally about 6 or 7 dollars each. I handed her a hundred dollar bill, saw my change and looked at the receipt. She rang up a different type of filter and I brought it to her attention. She said it doesn't matter, it's the same price. So I reluctantly walked out confused. My car is parked right in front of the store, so I Googled the exact filter by brand because I know there are variables depending on the manufacturer. The filter was $15. So I walked back in thinking that because she rang up the wrong item, was the cause of the price discrepancy. The female owner immediately starts to curse me out and told me that I was wrong. So I asked for a refund. The male owner comes out, curses me out and tells me to go fuck myself and to get out of his store, as he THROWS my money at me. Stating, "that's what's fucking wrong with YOU people" he told me to never step foot into his store again, and I assured him that he's not lucky enough to have my business. Aside from the racist remarks, I remained calm and professional, always am. But as a Captain in the police department, it opened my eyes as to why we have disputes at these mom and pop stores. I understand that big tech and big box stores make it difficult for these businesses to remain afloat, but when you treat people like that, it's no wonder why people prefer Amazon and Walmart. I just ordered a Aquabot pump from them through Amazon. They had a great price, but I didn't get the pump I ordered. I got a much cheaper pump that needed to be modified to be installed. I called up thinking it was an honest mistake, and the manager got pretty nasty and was not helpful. I tried to return it, and they said no. Good thing I bought through Amazon who stands behind the customer. They were able to force the return due to the "Bait and switch" tactics used by these people. Do not deal with them at any price. They are dishonest, nasty and probably selling things cheap so they can go bankrupt and not pay their supplier. Stay Away!!! read more

Wow this place is some joke the owner and his crew have never had a truthful word to say and have no clue how a business and how a customer needs to be handled. After my previous bad encounter I thought maybe I was being a little hard on them so I tried them again. My experience started with me bringing them a broken pool cleaner to repair and a bottle of pool water to test. One of the workers who appeared to be about 18 years old started to analyze it and asked for the dimensions and calculated that the pool was 40,000 gallons. He then recommend chemicals to add after he was complete, I purchased them and left the cleaner for a repair. Once i got home I grabbed a calculator and did my own math problem, it turned out that my pool was in fact only 28,000 gallons. At that point I thought well anyone can make a mistake. I re-calculater added the chemical and proceeded to enjoy my back yard. 2 weeks later I go to pick it up and the say its repaired and they decided to on their own without any permission to also tune it up and that in fact the repair work was done under the manufactures warranty and hand me a bill foe $195. At this point my feeling was, no problem its fix tuned up. who cares lets just move on. I went home, put the cleaner in the water and at this point find that nothing is repaired. I return to the store and I am told that they must have installed the wrong part. 2 weeks later I call to ask if the cleaner is repaired and the top repairman start to use curse word to describe the manufacturer and explain that they were acquired by different companies and were the worse pool cleaner a person could buy. 2 more weeks pass and Im again told that they just are getting no response from the manufacture, at this point I asked them to give me the phone and the part number and I would try. John the repair man at the point started to ramble on how was an amazing IT guy and left the world of big business to join this little hole in the wall to make huge amounts of money????? THIS IS WHERE I REALLY GETS OUT OF CONTROL. I called Blue Diamond (the best rated company in pool cleaners) they were very helpful and said that if i took them the machine it would be repaired within 5 day at no charge. But before I got off the phone she asked me who had it, when I told them I was informed that this company was not authorized to work on my machine. Again i called the ranting and rambling IT genius who made up another story about how the manufacture had the motors on their way. at this point enough was enough went by surprise to just pick it up and was told that i could not have the machine that it was in pieces and they were working it and the IT genius would call he was out to lunch and was not expected back for hours. I got in my car and called the little hole in the wall and miraculously the IT genius gets on the phone and assures me the motors we be there in 3 days and everything will be just fine that he has ups confirmation. Well another week passes and I get a very nice phone call from another teenager that the machine is repaired and I should come and pick it anytime. Today I go to pick it up and I asked if in fact because I know they are not authorize to do the repair and if they put in an after market product in would that void the warrantee at this point I think maybe after all this I'm thinking maybe they will offer an olive branch? The owner appears (this is the man who walks around with the very thick glasses about 5'1" tall about 55 years old with his head always pointing down and never making eye contact) and starts to make an argument and informs me that the machine was NOT repaired because there is a misunderstanding and that I should leave his store and never return for raising my voice in full Napoleon manner behind a couple of young kids. WARNING this unfriendly and unprofessional outfit ruined my Aquabot Turbo. The power supply went bad and I carried the whole mess to the store. I was told the cleaner needed a rebuild and agreed while reminding the gentleman that the power supply was the problem. Picked it up and brought it home to find it still had a dead power supply. Returned to the store and left it for a few hours. It was returned to me without explanation (even though I asked twice). This time the power supply worked but no longer had a timer. More to the point, the Tomcat parts that were used rendered the cleaner helpless. Keep in mind I'm a big Aquabot fan. After the rebuild the cleaner repeatedly got stuck around the ladder and both shallow end corners of the pool. It now eats its own power cord voraciously, and as a result has knocked off the tracks and drive belts several times. I ordered new "G-tracks" which is what was on the cleaner to begin with and it took nearly a month to receive them. A total disaster.... The Tomcat parts are clearly built to different tolerances which simply don't work. read more
