Long past due for a review for Ararat. I have been eating here since they opened years ago. The food has always been solid, and the hardworking family working there is always friendly. Tonight I had the lamb ribs. Simply delicious. Three perfectly seasoned ribs, tender on the inside, crisped around the bone edges. The rice pilaf, tomato salad, and yogurt dressing perfectly complimented the lamb. Surprisingly satiating, and not greasy or heavy. My kids had the chicken lulu plate, and finished every bite. So, a winner for them as well. Also, they sell ethnic groceries here. They have a nice selection of teas here. I bought a nice box Ceylon tea today, and it paired well with my meal. Customer service was great. Food was bland and mostly dry. I'm confused with all the 5 stars. Two of the chicken pieces were cooked perfectly. Very moist and soft. The other three were incredibly dry and chewy. My sister ordered the beef (not pictured) and all 5 pieces were dry and chewy. It was quite shocking. I wanted to like this place so bad but there was no flavor at all. The salad and yogurt looked fresh which was great but with no flavor. Normally I go to Mediterranean Grill in Fresno downtown which perfectly cooks my food every time. Willing to give this place another try though. read more

This little market is great! It is organized and very clean. I found sumac and will be adding this wonderful spice to my salads. I didn't think that this little place could come close to having delicious food comparable to a sit down and dine in restaurant. I was mistaken!hamegh! The chicken is flavorful and juicy. I purchased two trays of pilaf and chicken shish kabob for a small family gathering. The hummus is perfect. I finished one container on my own. This Pita loves yummy hummus. It took around 15 minutes for them to prepare my order. The shop itself is pretty small, but they have quite the diverse selection of grocery items. The food itself was delicious. All I have to say is WOW! The food was good. Coming from Los Angeles and being exposed to a diverse selection of Mediterranean restaurants, I have to say that this place is delicious and authentic! It is not a sit-down restaurant at all. Only take-out. The wait is about 10-15 min when you place an order. There is no where to sit, and it's a tiny market. The market itself sells items such as their garlic sauce and hummus (fresh). Along with pastries, deli, and items you can buy home to make your dishes. The combo plates do not come with hummus. You get your protein, salad, rice pilaf and garlic sauce. Although I believe you can sub the garlic sauce for hummus, but I like both and had to pay extra for a container of hummus which was way too much for my dish. Randomly came across this looking for groceries, and they seemed to have a great selection of middle eastern groceries. They were well stocked and real clean inside. The workers here were all so kind and helpful with explaining everything that we needed or were looking for. Get there chicken kabobs there delicious! Such nice people and super helpful! We got chicken and made them at home OMG so good! We got the pita bread and garlic sauce bomb! I stopped in yesterday to check this place out after meaning to for a long time. I was greeted like an old friend and ordered a falafel wrap. As I was waiting and looking through the cases of meats, the gentleman working asked if I had any questions as he explained the meats they have, how he can slice them, and that if there was anything I wanted that they didn't have, he would try to get it. It was nice to see that they had a lot of Armenian items, but also a lot of German and Polish items. So I got some bologna, kielbasa, sardines, falafel wrap (yummy), and happily went home. read more
