The food here is delicious! I always get the beef or chicken kebab plates which comes with rice, salad, pita bread and garlic sauce. I love the seasoning they put on their meats! On every visit the meat has been moist and tender. It's a lot of food for what you pay for and one plate is enough for 2. The inside of the store also sells assorted baked goods, fresh vegetables, and cheese among other things. It's very small but packed with quality products like baklava. I don't think I would ever order the vegetables since some look like they've been on the shelves too long when I visit but everything else looks good. Customer service is on point. You can tell the family that runs this place puts a lot of thought and care into what they do. If you plan on placing an order I would recommend calling it in so that it is ready for pickup. Parking can get tricky in the afternoon and there are no tables or chairs to sit at while waiting for your order. read more

The first time I came here was from Yelping a restaurant near me. I have driven past this place for several years, not knowing actually "what" it was...assuming by the name that it was just another small market of some kind.. Boy was I wrong!! This isn't just a market! This place has need, chicken, lamb, pork, falafel, pork ribs, beef kufta, among other things that one can order from an awesome menu. The rice pilaf & side salad is very tasty & I like that it's not over seasoned or salted. There is a very small authentic market & they carry spices, sodas & Sparkling waters by the cases. Gave this place another shot after the first time and it was amazing! I ordered the beef lula plate which comes with rice pilaf, a cucumber and tomato salad, garlic sauce and 3 slices of pita bread. The amount of food you get for the price is great. I couldn't finish it for lunch and saved some for dinner. The rice was fluffy and perfectly seasoned. Not too salty or soft. The beef lula didn't have the overwhelming garlic taste. It was nicely grilled, moist and tender. The cumber/tomato salad was so refreshing, I wish it was a little bigger as I really enjoyed it. Crisp, fresh, a bit tangy-- perfect to cleanse the palate after enjoying a bit of the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce isn't the best that I've had but it ranks amongst the top. It was great to not only add to the rice but to dip the lula kabob in. Be sure to carry around some mints as the garlic breath stays with you for quite some time. The store was clean with easy to find items. There is a deli where you can get cold meats and a small selection of fresh fruit/veggies. Definitely will be back read more

Hubby and I tried Ararat Market for the first time recently! I ordered over the phone and the customer service was excellent. I called twice and spoke to two different people who were very nice.They were happy to help and happy to serve! When my husband picked up the food he said they were very nice in person too and it was a family run business. They take pride in their business. We always appreciate superior customer service. The food was absolutely amazing. It tasted authentic and very fresh! It definitely had that homemade taste! We ordered combo plates. Half beef, half lamb and half chicken,half lamb kebabs. The meat was perfectly cooked, flavorful and not at all dry. The rice and the other grain (forgot what is was called) were amazing! We got half rice and half the other grain they offered. I never care to eat my rice or whatever grains come with Mediterranean food but every bite was absolutely delicious. It was so soft, fluffy, and s buttery smooth full of with flavor. We enjoyed the garlic sauce although I do prefer more of a garlic aioli type consistency which is similar to mayo consistency, theirs was still good, the garlic flavor was subtle and the texture was similar humus. The pita was pretty standard. We also ordered roasted peppers which really made the food taste even more authentic when we added it in. We can't wait to order again! read more

If you like Mediterranean food you need to come here. Price is about 12 bucks a plate. Choice of meat kebabs...even lamb. I think they have chops too. You get rice pilaf (yummy), salad (yummy even tho I'm a meat eater), the salty yogurt and pita bread. I'm not a fan of the salty yogurt stuff but this place makes it AWESOME. Not so strong. I'll dip it clean with the pita (which is tasty too). I like pilaf but not crazy about it...this place makes it great. I eat it all every time. Not a restaurant. Just a deli style store. Call ahead to order. If you just show up it might be 20 mins. While you're waiting chk out the stuff that the store carries...I found some good drinks from Turkey. Store is tight and can fill up with 4 to 5 ppl waiting. Just on food taste: beat Tofas, equal if not better than The Mediterranean Grill (downtown), a tad bit better than The Mediterranean Rest (Gettybrg/Fresno), I like it way more than Doy Grill. Mom and pop shop...support the family. Friendly customer service. Many items in the store from the Mediterranean area but I just don't know how to eat them all. read more

At first I was skeptical, small little store with Armenian grocery goods. Its relatively small, but carries a huge range of things to make that good Armenian dish. But most importantly the food here is the BOMB !!! I ordered the chicken kabob $7 and ouh my god, when i got home to eat it. I was in heaven, The chicken was juicy and perfectly marinated, not salty like most food i tasted here in Fresno, and most importantly the sauce, that sauce is seriously so good I can eat anything with it. The salad and the rice pilaf is real good too. My favorite part is how generous the serving is. And the bread was so soft like a pillow.. mmmmmmm yumm The owners are really nice and welcoming. Just be sure to know the food is made fresh, so expect to wait 15-20 minutes. No worries just shop in the store of pop by Jo-anns or petco while waiting, or bevmo if your a drinker. Love love LOVE!!! We went in to get some lunch after reading the reviews last weekend and can not believe that we did not find this gem sooner! Not only do they have great prepared foods at wonderful prices, they also have a great grocery selection of unique items. Also, their hummus is wonderful and their fresh pita bread is a steal. The best part about this hidden gem is the staff. They are so polite and wonderful, we truly did not mind waiting for our food! Called in and ordered the chicken and beef kabob plates, Sochi cheese bread and cheese borek, everything was delicious. Chicken Kebobs- they have two options: breast (which is a dollar more) or thigh Kebobs. I got both plates- and both were cooked perfectly, juicy, moist, warm and delicately seasoned. Beef Kebobs- got an extra skewer of beef kabobs and it was yummy though be warned that they cooked it well done, personally would prefer it to be med-well but I don't mind well done either, if you tend to go nuts if you don't see some pink or red in your beef id def recommend you request it cooked to your liking. The beef was tasty but a tad pricey for just a beef kabob a la cart, probably won't get it again unless it's with a whole plate. Rice was fluffy, hot and yummy, not overly buttery or greasy at all, salad was crisp and tasty with a simple lemon dressing that made it a perfect cleansing for the palate and the garlic sauce was good- didn't seem like it was a heavy mayo based garlic sauce like so many other Mediterranean places, seemed more light and healthy, as if yogurt based or something. The pita bread was warm and supper soft too. The portions are huge and the price is more than fair plate wise. Sochi cheese bread was simply divine. If you love cheesy bread and don't mind trying new things I highly recommend the Sochi style cheese bread where two eggs are beautifully baked inside. It's a great appetizer and can even be a meal since it's so huge. The cheese is so delicious and flavorful and the kind of bread they use really compliments the cheesy egg combo. The cheese borek is also a yummy winner- it's flat and about 1-2 feet long with three different cheeses baked inside, unlike the Sochi bread which had a stringy mozzarella like texture baked inside, the borek has more of a short grated cheese that melts and doesn't stretch when being pulled an addition to other secret seasonings. All and all, great gem in Clovis and always love the small mom and pops mini mart/food servicing feel. The mini mart is clean, organized and has everything from desserts to (some) produce to fresh meats and cheeses and dry goods. Will be back frequently I'm sure. read more
