That did not excuse the work or the misdiagnosis, which is why this is not a solid 5 star review. He offered to refund the detailed inspection charge to satisfy me and I agreed. He told me that he would send me a check I asked if he had the address he said yes. I really thought I could give him a positive follow-up for making things right and here we are a month later and I have received the check. He also refunded the charge for what they did fix as part of a good faith gesture which I appreciate very much. The reasons for changing the review to 4 stars are clearly about the integrity of Aaron the owner of Anchor Plumbing. First, not to go into personal details, he shared the reasons he was not available to his team during the repair visit. If he had been available I am positive we would have achieved a much better result. Emergencies are just that. It doesn't excuse the issue. What it does is more important. A small business owner who even looks at the Yelp reviews I have been publishing these many years is reassuring. Especially when we are looking for tradesmen who come into our homes. That said, I do want to express my dissatisfaction with aspects of the project execution. My understanding per the contract and my discussion with Baker Bros, was that the project would take 2 days and included restoration of the yard, with existing grass being replaced where possible and sod being installed in areas where the original grass could not be salvaged. Instead the project extended from last Thursday through Friday of the next week, which was substantially longer than anticipated. Although the plumbing was complete, the backfill, and yard restoration was not. Ultimately, I'm disappointed with the condition in which the yard was left. While I understand excavation work will inevitably impact the appearance of the lawn, I expected the restoration work to be performed with greater care and attention to detail. Some of the sod had been laid over each other or over existing grass rather than being properly cut and fitted into areas where replacement was actually needed. My expectation was never that the yard would look exactly as it did before the repair. However, I did expect the restoration efforts to reflect the same level of professionalism as the sewer line replacement itself. For example, on the first day of yard restoration after I had chatted with a Baker Bros Service Plumber about the yard, who I am assuming to be the general foreman of the 3rd party restoration crew, showed up to my home and I walked out to a group of around 8 men, and he stated, "my boss said you have a problem". But I would've expected Baker Bros to come out to check on the status of 3rd party contracted work. I've used baker bros since we bought our home over 3 years ago and have always had positive experiences; however, this piece was not a great one.

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

I was in an option period and my initial inspection flagged major foundation and structural issues with the home at Friday at 6pm. I was referred to other companies, but they were closed over the weekend. Googled companies and came across GreenWorks. rep not only said they can accomplish a full evaluation of both downstairs and upstairs, but also share estimates on price and come on that Sunday. With the option period ending the following Friday , I had felt I had to take a chance on them considering they said they can give me what I was asking for. Sunday comes and I reconfirm with the engineer in person my asks: evaluate downstairs and upstairs and give me a cost for repairs. Not once was I stopped to clarify if they could actually do the work requested. They had no problem accepting my $900. Fast forward to the end of day 3 (Wednesday) and after several calls emphasizing any expedited request I get the report, only to find upstairs was not evaluated and there was no cost repair plan (they claimed it would come within 24 hours). 48 hours to decide on moving forward on a home, and I wasted those days to not get the full answers. Called 4 times between end of Wednesday and Thursday asking to speak to a manager and every time they told me they'd call me back asap. Never once got a call back. MY FIFTH TIME calling, I get on the line with a customer support rep, not a manager. I'm then told that evaluation of upstairs was not part of the deal, and that no estimate was promised in my proposal and they will not be sending estimated cost (it literally showed in the email a "cost repair" link) I burned Sunday-Thursday waiting for something they refused to acknowledge they told me they could do, had to hire another company to come out and they gave me rough estimates within the same day. Not only that, they "worked" towards getting me a full refund, then the following week said best they can do is $300 because there's no "proof" that they confirmed price and upstairs evaluation. Do not use this company. Incredibly frustrating experience all around and zero accountability. I've advised all my contacts in the real estate industry to put them on a "do not use list".

Excellent work and service! I observed the full crew work diligently under 108F degree weather as they used the pro lift technique. I was curious as to how the foundation was adjusted to the correct level. Using the same measuring equipment used by the independent engineering firm that outlined the repair plan, the crew foreman was able to verify that they had reached the correct level. He showed me the floor plan with the numbers; it was visible in that the cracks on the sheet rock had closed completely only needing a fresh paint. But he told me that another inspection was needed to verify his work. It was phenomenal to have the repair work done within a couple of days of the initial repair plan. read more

Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures. The process to obtain the proposal through the installation was seamless, and though we had to delay the installation by approximately three months, AFR honored their proposal. The work was thoroughly explained and completed timely, and our yard no longer experiences drainage issues. I am adding this review approximately three years later because I recently contacted Align Foundation Repair regarding an alleged leak that we assumed was due to a clogged or damaged drainage pipe. Josh Spector scheduled an appointment without hesitation. Upon arrival, he grabbed a shovel because the leak was in the same area as a sprinkler line, and we immediately learned it was a sprinkler line. I appreciate the effort and time Josh took to come to our home. He and Jason are so professional and friendly, and our experience has been positive. While I hope I will not require the need for foundation repair in the near future, we will, without a doubt, contact Josh and Jason. Thank you both for your services and professionalism.

Run as far as you can from this company. They installed plumbing on a home we purchased (before we…read morebought we had no say in the work) and it's been a NIGHTMARE ever since. Between flooding the underside of our home due to not properly backfilling (pictured below) to installing a grinder pump on a bathroom and kitchen and it failing evey six months... they went from promising us the grinder is strong enough to grind anything and everything to today where they said, and I quote, "you shouldn't flush even toilet paper down those pumps and instead throw the toilet paper in a trash can". They screen my call, my husbands calls, and even the guys they sent to "fix" the problem. It's a mess, unprofessional, and costing us thousands of dollars to fix.

The vast majority do not stand behind…read moretheir work- they use loopholes to get out of honoring warranties. 90%+ of the time (including when I sold my OWN home- after choosing our foundation company carefully) sellers are left in the lurch, leading to transactions that fall through and/or thousands of dollars needed to remedy the situation. MBR Actually STANDS behind theirs. Also, they are incredibly trustworthy when evaluating foundations. I have always recommended independent, 3rd party structural engineers to my buyers so that they would know a foundation company wasn't trying to push unwarranted repairs on them. Now, I recommended they use Will with MBR. He's honest when there's not a problem. True current story... I have a listing and we handed over a foundation warranty to the buyers. Turns out, the warranty was NOT in effect because... refer back to my first paragraph. Now we had a problem to fix. Spoke to the buyers' agent and turns out, MBR was her trusted company too! Will came out was able to offer a warranty on the previous work. Having someone we BOTH trusted was absolutely essential to keeping this deal together. MBR is one of the ONLY foundations companies I actually trust.

They also added new piers and even found 2 piers missing the previous company charged for but didn't install. They were easy to contact and follow up was good. Quote was about half or less of the other companies.

Originally, we were told the job would two days, but they brought 6 workers plus a crew leader. The foundation work was completed in one day. The crew cleaned up our yard and my neighbor said you could not notice that extensive work had been done. The price was very competitive and I will recommend them to others if asked.
