I'm really disappointed to have to find a new dentist, as I really liked Dr. Eka and her team. The location is also prefect and the office is clean and welcoming. I completely understand 24-hour cancelation policies -- the dentist could have booked someone else and could potentially lose $$ if you wait too long to let them know, which I take seriously. My expectations and hopes were probably too high as a first-time offender, having had an otherwise nice experience with the front desk team, and I've also been going to Dr. Eka for over two years. However, the way they treated me when I had to cancel over 20 hours before my appt surprised me. I've been having a really hard time with my health and had to schedule a very important, last-minute doctor's appt that interfered with my allotted time at Arch Street, and I got back to them as quickly as I could. The front desk responded with annoyance, no flexibility that allowed me to rebook without the $75 fee, and clearly just wanted to send me a bill and get on with it. I had also moved my initial appt time out the week before (with plenty of notice) so I understand their frustration (this was referenced by the front desk when explaining their lack of understanding or flexibility), but I do feel you should be able to move your appt time out when you provide enough notice without receiving backlash. I'm going to look for a team where I feel more supported -- where there's perhaps slightly more flexibility and understanding during difficult times, particularly after multiple years of patronage. Very nice, clean, new looking dentist office. Everyone is very friendly here. The dentist has a great 'bedside' manner. So sweet yet honest and gave me a thorough exam. The teeth cleaning was also thorough and was not rough at all... I have had that before with hygienists and I hate that. So, this made going to the dentist pleasant. This was a 'new' dentist for me as my insurance had changed and thank goodness for that. My past dentist always tried to get me to do a lot of work, which I found suspicious. Avoid this place at all costs. All of the employees come off as super friendly, but the place is a complete scam. Any time you go there they will say you need to get all of this extra work done that is completely unnecessary and ends up costing an arm and a leg. This was my first time going here. Hygienist was not well trained. She had a lot of trouble using the x-ray machine so it took way longer than it should have. I could have forgiven that, but the dentist gave me a filling that I didn't need. I had a bony growth on one of my teeth that numerous dentists had assured me was completely benign, but this dentist misdiagnosed it as a cavity. She asked if I wanted her to fill it now, and I should have said no, but I didn't really think about it so I accepted. While she was doing the filling I realized that she had made a mistake, but it was too late so I didn't say anything. For the record, I was not seen by Dr. Eka, but a different dentist. I think she said her name was Dr. B, but I couldn't find her info on their website. Maybe their website is out of date because the only person from the website that I actually saw there was Silvana (she was very courteous and professional). Over-treatment is a serious problem in the dental industry, and giving patients fillings that they don't need is bad for their health and their wallet. The one good thing I can say is that everyone I interacted with was very kind and friendly. They also were very concerned about my comfort and did everything they could to make sure I was relaxed, informed about what they were doing, and comfortable. However, I will not be returning here, and I recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking for a new dentist. UPDATE (9/27/21): Dr. Eka read my review and asked me to come back to the office to discuss my experience. I agreed, and went in today. Thankfully, she did not ask me to change my review or put any kind of pressure on me to change my review. She just wanted to hear from me directly about my experience and to personally examine my filling. She also didn't doubt my version of what happened. She did tell me that she spoke to Dr. B about my filling and Dr. B was confident that there was decay on the tooth that she filled. However, I still have my doubts. Because I went to a dentist 6 months ago and he didn't mention anything about a cavity or potential cavity. Is it possible I developed a full cavity between now and then? Definitely. But that, combined with the fact that Dr. B cited the explorer (metal tool) catching as evidence of a cavity, which I had previously been assured was benign and not a cavity, makes me skeptical. I decided to upgrade my review from 1 to 2 stars because I can't say with certainty that I didn't actually have a cavity. Putting that aside though, it still bothers me that their website doesn't show their full staff. I personally didn't like going to see any dentist ever since I was little until now. It was always painful. Recently I've switched to my new dentist Dr.Chen. He was very gentle with his work. First impression matters and I was impressed that he did it so quick and it wasn't painful. The hygienist Katie was super nice and friendly. Paulina did the best cleaning I've experienced in a long time, I was squeaky clean afterwards. I highly recommend this dental office, excellent customer service and dental service! Super professional, nice office & friendly staff. I chipped a tooth & needed to get it fixed. My previous dentist wasn't covered w/ the insurance I had so I had to find a place to do it. So glad I found this place right downtown. It was great to have Dr. Ekaterina take care of this as now my smile is back to being great w/ my fixed tooth. Easy & painless. Although I was confused about the options to fix my tooth & insurance had to be contacted a few times. Apparently my insurance has several plans so had to make sure the info was correct since initialize wasn't. Thankfully they have someone who speaks insurance & will have a conference call if need be to make sure things are done properly so no surprised later. I've been coming to Arch St Dental for 2.5 years now and I HIGHLY recommend. The hygienist, Katie, is thorough, professional, and easy to talk to -- which is GREAT for me because cleanings make me a little nervous. Dr. Eka is great too, and the front desk team is always welcoming and efficient with getting you in and out on time (c'mon, you know that's not easy!). Here's an example. Today I had my cleaning with Katie. She asked me how I was doing with my sensitivity in the teeth where my gums are receding. I told it was getting worse, and she was able to get my consult in with the periodontist quick enough that there were still slots available TOMORROW. The work is decent but the people working there are extremely dishonest and irresponsible. In June 2017, I went in for a check up and let the dentist know that i wanted a crown on one of my upper front tooth because i was experiencing sensitivities. The dentist Lee promptly recommended that I get all six of the front teethes crowned because that is the "standard" and that if i get them done separately the color will not match. At the time I decided to get four done with a out-of-pocket cost of $2800. Then when I went into for a cleaning in December, the front desk lady Jillian told me that my insurance decline part of the payment for the crowns because I had treatments done on them the same year. She told me not to worry about it and that they are going to appeal it and that if anything they will absorb the difference. Then yesterday I got a call from her that the appeal had fail and that I have to pay them another 600-700 dollars. I tried to explain to her that that's not what their employee told me when I had the procedure and that if I know this is a possibility. I probably would not have the procedure. All she said was "I wasn't there at the time". I try to explain to her that even if she wasn't there, an employee/agent representing her business mislead me, and that the business should bear responsibility. She phase for a couple of seconds, the next thing she said was " you owe us this money, if you don't pay, I am going to send this to collections NOW". In retrospective, I should never listen to the dentist wholeheartedly for the extra crowns or take comfort in their words. read more

I've been coming to Arch st dental off and on for the past few years, and even if I stray and check out another dentist offices, I always come crawling back. I know dentist offices are typically pushy about selling their products and services to maximize their profit, but there are some places that are so pushy to the point of rudeness and disrespect. Arch St dental is NOT one of those places, which is why I always come back. Of course they try to sell their products and services, but not in a desperate way like so many others. The hygienists are extremely friendly and personable, they remember things about me even though I only see them twice a month for cleanings, and they never force me to schedule procedures that are unnecessary and/or unwanted, which is what happened to me at the last dentist office I tried. The dentist herself is also friendly and competent and I genuinely trust her because I don't feel like she has a hidden agenda when she talks to me. She focuses only on analyzing my teeth situation and lets me decide what I want to do with them. After some terrible experiences, I can fully appreciate Arch St dental. read more

I went to the recently opened Arch Street Dental using a Groupon. Granted, I was very hesitant to use a Groupon for the dentist, but I was soon put at ease. The dental office feels brand new and has state of the art equipment. Everyone who works there is very pleasant and professional. And the dentist herself, Dr. Eka, does your cleaning and examination. It turns out she has offices in multiple other locations (as I was told) and this is just an additional new location for her. I have been going to Arch Street Dental for over a year now and love it! It's a great location located in Downtown Crossing. Making an appointment can't be easier as you can call OR use their mobile apps. I don't like to call and wait. Thus, I love the mobile apps option. They will call and email you when your appointment is close. The place is clean and pretty high tech with their x-rays on my teeth, TV program to watch when your dental work is being done, and very very nice staffs. No Cons and ALL Pros for me. I don't normally like to go to a dentist but with Arch Street Dental, I enjoy getting my teeth clean twice a year. Try it and you'll know what I'm talking about. read more

I was going to write a review last year after a billing issue that ended up costing me about $300 that I was not aware of prior to my procedure, but decided against it since I wanted to keep them as my dental provider for the time being. However, it was just brought to my attention that they are now covered as out of network for Cigna. This was not communicated to me, nor any of my colleagues at work who are also patients there and covered by the same insurance. One of them is now dealing with a billing issue of his own, which is similar to the problem I had with them last year. They quote one thing and charge another. If you are a patient here, or are considering being a patient here, be absolutely careful about what your insurance covers with them and what your out of pocket expenses are before you commit. When I had my issue, I was told that the problem was mine and my insurance provider's to deal with. There is no accountability for the lack of transparency here. I personally think it's sneaky and bad business to come back with a massive bill after something's been done, when you agree to a procedure under a different understanding of what the charge will be. It corners you to think that you made the mistake, and are then forced to pay for something that could have easily been avoided at another dental practice. The only positive here is that Katie, the hygienist, is truly wonderful. She's friendly and very attentive. Aside from that, I'd advise against using them for your dental needs. read more

I was referred to Arch Street Dental by an office colleague who raved about the excellent service she received. I went for a cleaning and night guard fitting. Both went well. Atmosphere: upscale, marble floors, coffee machine, flat screen tvs Service: Very nice people Care: Cleaning wasn't painful, dental equipment looks modern I commend them for an impressive dental office and friendly people. I do have one major issue with this business. I got screwed over when it came to billing. Apparently the night guard that I got wasn't covered by my insurance. What happened was my insurance only covers night guards every two years and I didn't remember the last time it was ordered and Arch Street Dental told me they checked with my insurance and had it approved. I doubled checked with my insurance company and confirmed that it hasn't been two years therefore the claim was rejected. Furious, I brought this up to the lady at the front desk and asked her why it was rejected when she told me it was approved. Her response was basically that it was approved and it was just too bad the claim was rejected. Of course it didn't matter that I had to pay for the entire night guard. To them it's not sorry I screwed up, it's sorry you have to pay so I feel bad for you. Arch Street Dental collects much of the money upfront so they are taken care of financially so when things "unexpected" go wrong with a patient's insurance claim they can wash their hands and say too bad. They have no incentive to take extra care in making sure a patient's insurance pays because in the end Arch Street Dental is made whole. Looking back at their bill, there's a lot of language about them not being responsible for mistakes and that it's basically the patient's job to do all the work. Didn't think anything of it at the time, but it makes sense now. They don't want to take responsibility for their carelessness. They should have made sure when they told me it was approved that it was instead of informing me a week later it was rejected and telling me to pay the rest of the balance. That's fine by me. I'll be finding another dentist. I work too hard for my money to have it wasted like that. read more

When I was first referred to Arch Street Dental, I had this presumption that it was a "corporate-like" dentist office like many others I had previously visited. And then I went to my appointment. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. I had Kaite as my dental hygienist and she won me over. I've had friendly hygienists in the past, but there was something different about Kaite. She makes people feel completely comfortable in such an effortless manner. It was recommended that I have a deep cleaning, which was a 2 visit process and more painful than a standard cleaning. Kaite was very thorough in her explanation and overall comforting throughout both visits. She's the best! If you're looking for a new dentist, Arch Street is the place to go- hands down! read more

I experienced outstanding service with all of the staff at Arch Street. After dodging the dentist for a couple years I came to them because I was about to leave my job and move to another country (so no more insurance). I had roughly a week to get all the work I needed done, and they were able to accommodate and work me into their schedule, which was a huge relief. They all seem like a happy fluid team there.
