We went this afternoon (12/6/2025) to watch the AVS vs Rangers and grab lunch. We sat at the bar to be near the tvs. Scott was the bartender I believe and he quickly took our drink order and gave us menus. Very friendly and professional. We ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich with fries on a brioche bun. Omg is this a huge sandwich and easily shareable. The fries came out cold but he quickly got us fresh fries. Excellent meal, fresh and tasty. One area they could improve is in their wines. They only offer low quality, cheap wines such as Vendange. "Baby, what a big surprise Right before my very eyes" (Chicago) Talk about a big surprise. It seems that I've known about Archie Moore's chain of CT restaurants since I moved here in 1987. But what I didn't know until yesterday is that the restaurants are NOT named after Archie Moore the famous boxer! I was researching the boxer to slip a few biographical nuggets into my review but came up empty on finding his expected links to Connecticut. That also explains why there is nothing on the walls or on the menu of Archie Moore's Restaurant about THAT particular Archie Moore. The Archie Moore that's the namesake of the restaurants bearing his name was an Irish immigrant named Archibald Moore. He put down roots in New Haven and opened a saloon there in 1898. Today there are FIVE Archie Moore's across the state, serving up their famous chicken wings and more. Their website says they have served up over 15 million wings, so if you went to a Super Bowl party last month, you may have gobbled down a few. Three of us stopped in for lunch yesterday an skipped the wings in favor of a a Foot Long Hot Dog Platter with Fries ($11.99), a Turkey BLT with Fries ($15.99), and a Fresh Garden Salad ($9.99) with added Grilled Chicken ($4.99). My brother-in-law's hot dog platter looked great, and he must have loved it, because there was nary a crumb left on his plate. My wife's Turkey BLT was a pretty generous sandwich stacked high with T, B, L, & T. I mooched a few fries and they were excellent. My Salad was amazing, not so much the salad itself, but the added Grilled Chicken was amazing. That $4.99 upcharge yielded four huge pieces that took up the floorspace of an entire plate. Between the salad and the TBLT, we had plenty of leftovers to polish off for dinner that evening. If you care about the quality of the food and nothing else, Archie Moore's is decent for a night out. Zero complaints about the food (their wings could've been a little larger, but I'm nitpicking). However, if you want to take other things into consideration, I was rather disappointed with my recent experience. The service was lacking quality. It seemed like Archie Moore's was the last place our server wanted to be on the night we went. Service did not feel welcoming. I was there with my table for trivia night. I told the host at the front in the hopes of being somewhat near the rest of the players, but we were seated away from the action despite several clean and empty tables in more optimal spots. They also chose to put a loud table of 10 and a loud table of 16 next to several attentive trivia teams. I am not one to write reviews, but this recent, frustrating experience warranted a word of warning for anyone looking for a place to eat. read more

Good location next to the Fairfield train station and seemed to have their fare share of regulars. A lot of beers on tap, sea hag IPA hit the spot. Wings were above average with a good portion. I have always loved the buffalo wings at Archie Moore's since I arrived to CT, after spending 8 years at SUNY Buffalo. The buffalo wings are almost as good as the buffalo wings at the Anchor Bar and at Duff's in Buffalo, NY. I have been a customer at Archie Moore's since 1998 and returning frequently to satisfy my cravings for buffalo wings. The servers at Archie Moore's are professional and friendly. Food arrived about 10 minutes after we placed our orders. I have been to the New Haven, Milford, and Fairfield locations of Archie Moore's. All three locations provide a clean and cool areas for food consumption. The Fairfield location, where I visited today, has plenty of tables, several big screen televisions, and a nice bar. read more

For a place that specializes in wings, my group was pretty disappointed with our batch. The wings were so dry and over fried, and while we ordered buffalo sauce -- it was barely sauced. If you ask for any extra sauces whether buffalo or bluechs/ ranch there is an additional cost. Nacho were pretty loaded but bland. We picked up takeout on our way back from a beach day. These were great wings- we got 21 buffalo & 7 buffaque to try. Im not a big bbq fan but rlly liked the balance of the sauce. We also got an order of waffle fries, onion rings & mozzarella sticks. The waffle fries were good. The onion rings were okayy, I felt like the texture was maybe too chewy? The mozzarella sticks didn't have that nice cheese pull but were ok. Overall for about $90 we had a good dinner! It was also quick service food was done in about 15 minutes. read more

came here to celebrate wing day and it was pretty okay (3.8) ! our server (jason) was awesome - super attentive and kind throughout the night :) the food was pretty good too - we started with jalapeño poppers which was amazing (10) and then got a caesar salad for the table which was also really good (8). i tried the honey hot boneless wings which were way too spicy for me but still fairly good (7), the peach chipotle wings (8.4), and the garlic parm wings which were AMAZING (10). i also ordered the eggplant fries but i found them to be super bland and they weren't my fave (3). I started my time in Fairfield with a great restaurant, and slowly over time they got worse and worse. However, this restaurant REVIVED the city of Fairfield for me. I LOVE WINGS. Archie Moore's was a fantastic place to get wings, but let me get more specific. The wings were fantastic. Personally, I enjoyed the bone-in wings (the only real type of wings) more than the boneless wings (chicken nuggets). The bone-in wings were juicy, extra wet (covered in sauce), and crispy. They were everything I ever wanted in wings. Additionally, the buffalo sauce was delicious. It was spicy, but it won't burn you up. If you are a casual buffalo wing lover, these are the wings for you! Now, you're probably wondering, "Why only 4 stars"? First off, I enjoyed my bone-in wings, but I wanted to taste their boneless to give them a chance. Personally, I did not love the boneless wings. They were way too small. This place is ALWAYS crowded regardless of the time you go. It's also always dirty. They try their best and it's not the wait staff's fault just the magnitude of the amount of people that come through the doors. We had the wings (buffalo) and they were dry and overcooked. Because we waited so long for our food we chose not to send back. You go to watch the games and to people watch but be prepared to wait and deal with crowds. read more

This place certainly served it's purpose but overall left me with mixed feelings. The beer list isn't terribly interesting. It has some typical standards on there. I knew I was ordering wings. So keeping mind that the food was going to be spicy and greasy, I decided to kept it simple and light. Miller light it was. My friend also decided to join me. Onto the wings. I had 14 of the original. Now, I enjoyed the sauce. However, the wings were fried to death. The skin and meat were pretty overcooked and chewy. There is no price for the wings on the menu. When I got the bill, I found out 14 wings cost $20. Call me crazy but if you charge that much, you should hit it out of the park. No questions asked. They should be amazing. Amazing is a big stretch here. The bill was around $70 for the two of us. I think it was a little expensive given the quality of what we got. read more

You know, Archie Moore's has been a hot-wing staple in Fairfield County for as long as I can remember. We never had a 'Wings Over' or anything like that, so if you wanted wings, you would always go to Archie Moore's. Now, we went a couple of times to sit and eat wings until we passed out, and boy was I able to eat more food years ago than I can now. Now, I am a wimp. But, the first time I went here, I tried an assortment of different types of wings, plus some appetizers. We tried many flavors: barbecue, garlic Parmesan, classic buffalo, teriyaki, and more. The garlic Parmesan leave something to be desired, same with the teriyaki. The barbecue and buffalo were fine, but I was not overwhelmed with their crispiness, flavor, or the way they were cooked. I want a wing that melts off the bone, these just fell off, but with some effort. Yet, here I give them 4 stars, but why?! The answer is simple--Pulled pork nachos. I said it. I didn't come here expecting to write about these nachos, but they were on top of my list of all time for nachos. The pulled pork was doused in barbecue sauce, and really melted on the tongue. The assortment of chips, cheese, salsa, guac, jalepenos, beans, etc etc, brought this whole thing together to the point that on my next visit, this was all I ordered. Obviously, this restaurant is to be compared to other bars, or restaurants that serve bar food, and if we put this up against other types of cuisine, I might be less generous. But, if you want excellent nachos, this is the place to visit. read more

But I am glad my friend suggested to go because once we ordered their signature wings, I took it all back. We ordered potato skins for our appetizer and the Buffaque and Parmesan Garlic wings. I'm sorry, this place has just gone to $h!t. Used to be a pretty solid spot for wings. Now, quality has gone way way down. The food is barely edible at times. Their prices have gone up and their food quality has gone way down. Avoid at all costs. There's a ton of better places in Fairfield and surrounding areas to get wings, you don't need to suffer through this place. Specifically; wings are fried, then grilled until their so dry they're barely edible. Tossed in a little bit of sauce and there you go. Nachos are overdone and most of the time, half are burned. The "meat" on the nachos is something out of Taco Bell. The kids "mac and cheese" is reheated Easy Mac. For desert, we got the Fresh Fruit Crisp, which was supposed to be " caramelized apples in a crisp, served warm with ice cream". What came out of the kitchen was virtually a joke. See attached pic. Servers are generally the same servers that have been there for years. They're non-attentive, they don't smile; always have an attitude and simply could give a damn about you. Think of the quintessential mean diner waitress that's like 60 years old and could give a f*. Save your money.
